I will also continue to live my life as normal as possible, but I will be starting an emergency kit.

"In this country," Mueller said, "the FBI suspects there are “several hundred” Muslim extremists that focus mainly on fund raising, recruitment and training." But he said the greatest threat to Americans at home is “al-Qaida cells in the United States that we have not identified.”
Some of these cells, he added, have probably been in the United States since well before Sept. 11 . . .

I have a real problem with government officials making statements like that. .

What the hell does it mean? If they have proof of these people being here, then grab them and throw them in jail; if they're just "assuming" and "guessing" then they need to keep their mouth's shut and stop scaring everyone every couple months. .

I honestly do not see the value in these vague, nonspecific warnings and alerts other then government officials covering their ***** just in case another attack does happen. . . standing up and saying "there might be an attack somewhere, some place, at some time but we don't have any real information and there's nothing anyone can do about it" is irresponsible, inflammatory, and useless.

I wish they'd spend more time and resources tracking down illegal aliens who have come into the country under student visas then disappeared and less time calling press conferences and running their mouths when they have no real info they can or are willing to share.

Here, here Willy. Very well said. I saw nothing specific in that article at all, and nothing that we have not been hearing since Sept. 11.

Emergency preparedness: I'll be prepared for an earthquake, hurricane, tornado, etc. with multiple days of supplies, water, food, etc.

But I won't let them win by changing how I live my life.

I live a couple of miles from the Pentagon, and about 20 blocks away from the White House; and I couldn't agree with you more, Willy. Unless they have specific information, I'd rather not hear about the threat warnings. I'll watch my back, as I have since 9/11, but there isn't much I can do it someone wants to do a repeat of 9/11 in some form or fashion. No sense in worrying about it.

It's very obvious, the gov't. is covering their *****. This way, they can't say we weren't warned.

they're damned if they do and damned if they don't. if they don't tell us, we'll say they didn't warn us. if they do, we get scared. :(
