say that i have 0 points left for the year, and my points renew on March 1st....If i want to make a reservation before march 1st for a week after march 1st, will i be able to do so.

ie...I will be using all of my points this summer...but i would like to book for next summer within thw 11 month window. Do I have to wait for my points to renew?

The only thing that matters is if you will have the points available at the time of the vacation.

Your use year or when you get your points refreshed has nothing at all to do with when you can make a reservation.

The only consideration is the 7-11 month window.

The points do not have to be available when the reservation is made. The only restriction is that they have to be available when they are used.

You can also make a ressie for before March next year too. That is called borrowing.

But if you borrow points for a ressie and later have to cancel, those points can NOT be pushed back into next year, and must be used before the end of the current year (Feb 28th for a March year)

There is a lot of flexability with the DVC point system, but you need to understand the banking and borrowing limits so you don't end up losing any of your points.
