Hi,

What happens at the 'Adventurers Club' at DD?
Just wondering if it should be on my To-Do list.
Thanks Debs

It's a wacky place, with a number of improvisational actors/singers who entertain you in a themed environment. It is themed around a club for gentlemen explorers, and is full of exotic artifacts from their far-off travels. The comedy routines which take place in two or three venues within the club follow a general pattern but are mainly improvised, with lots of audience participation. There is also lots of ad hoc humour as the characters wander around the club. There is a bar serving a full range of drinks, and I find it a fun place to wander around, drink in hand, just looking at all the funny artifacts that adorn the walls.

I recommend you add it to your to-do list, and if you find it's not your cup off tea there will be lots of other things to do at Pleasure Island.

Regards

We love the adventurers club. Dont just go in look around and leave though cause you wont get the feel of things. plan to go for an hour at least and go into some of the rooms where things are happening.
Oh and Kungaloosh

... had a great evening at the Adventurer's Club! Rob describes it so well.
I have nothing but admiration for the actors! They really are brilliant - the improvisation is hilarious, particularly when it involves one of the crowd!

I got hauled up on stage at one point - beware sitting in a conspicuous place!!

We went to several clubs before we went into the Adventurers Club and as Tiggery says, if you don't find it as amusing as we did, you have other clubs to enjoy.

Read the info we have on this link re all the clubs in Pleasure Island :

I've heard nothing but great reports of this place.

Is it OK to take kids? Would my DDs (8&6 when we go) like it/be allowed in?

Thanks

If you are happy with your children being in an occasionally noisy bar envirinment, you should be just fine with kids (although I would recommend going for one of the earliest shows of an evening - they CAN get a bit raucous later on!). The usual stipulations about being accompanied by an adult and children not allowed at the bar also apply.

thanks for the info, i'm intrigued now. hopefully we will get time to try most of the clubs at some point.
We are staying on-site this time which will make it easier.

Thanks again

Although you can take children into Pleasure Island, the one or two that do go look out of place and you can see they feel uncomfortably conspicuous ........... as Simon says, visit early if you take them.

We had a long chat with one of the actors from the Adventurers Club and they feel very concerned that their material is not suited to children later on in the evening.

I agree that it's best to take your kids early if you are visiting the Adventurers' Club. It's not as if anything too 'adult' goes on - this is Disney after all - but the banter that goes on between the characters and occasionally the guests could be a little embarassing for kids and/or their parents.
