If I pay extra for a room with a view! Is the Theme park or Downtown disney view the best? Or is it a matter of opinion?
I know they cost extra, but are they differing higher rates? Also do they have a balcony?
Thanks Karen:confused:

when we were there May 2 - 3 , we asked about other views than what they had assigned us (using DVC points) and were told the upgrade was 20$ per night extra....we did not opt for it...
we had the room that was just over the "monorail" tunnel towards the monorail station and thus did not have a balcony
maybe it is a matter of how much time you will be spending in your room as to whether it is worth the extra cost to have a "view"

We had a view of the park - overlooking the hanger for "Soarin' " and the Grizzly Run water ride. Really enjoyed sitting out on the balcony - both in the afternoon and early morning with no one there! This is the only view I'd like to have. (we noticed while riding on the Monorail, that some rooms overlook quiet, grassy areas & other wings of the hotel.)

We had a view of the monorail first and was not very happy as we were promised a park view. Disney came through and we got to move to a Paradise Pier View and we were very happy. The Ferris Wheel, the coaster and all were so pretty lit up. We sat on the patio alot and were quite happy with this view. The monorail view was dark. drab, noisy and boring. We could of have a suite with a DD view but choose Paradise Pier view and quite happy as we felt we were in Calfornia the whole time, day, night and inbetween. A monorail view is OK but does not compare to a park view IMHO

were you there on points from DVC or were you a paying customer....
they told us that the "views" were extra even though we were staying on points...
we have found that when we exchange points for "other" hotels in the disney collection that we seem to get the better views.....maybe they do not do that at disneyland...only at WDW...
we had fun ......and were not in the room that much anyhow.....
one thing we were able to get was a small refrigeator for "pop" and "milk" and "orange juice"....that really helped.....we did not touch anything in the cash fridge after hearing that it "instantly" charges you

We had a view of Paradise Pier, over the swimming pool. Not only was it gorgeous at night, all lit up, but in the mornings everything runs before the park opens, so you can see the different rides going, which got me all excited.
Amazingly, when we shut the door to our room, we could not hear sound at all. We usually kept ours open, though, so that we could hear the magic! We could even hear the Eureka parade.
