Just returned from HRH

We returned Tuesday from a great trip to Universal and stay at the Hard Rock Hotel. I will try to post our trip report today. We were able to receive a Loews upgrade to the club level, which was very nice. The best thing was being within walking distance of the two theme parks and the CityWalk restaurants. For offsite guests, I can't encourage enough to use the express pass system. It didn't seem like very many people were using it and there was rarely a line. Wondering if you used the "Entertainment rate" and how you went about getting your Loews upgrade? Did you go to a Loews First check-in line, was your Loews ID number on your ressie or did that not matter? Just wondering because I am seeing that some people are getting their Loews upgrade at the HRH yet most are not getting it at the Portofino. This I do not understand! We are staying at the Portofino in May and want to be able to get this upgrade...even though we got the "entertainment card rate". Thanks!

We had the Adventure package garden room reserved. This included lodging for three nights (you can get the package for as many nights as you want, I think), park passes (third day free with Discover card), one free dinner, and souvenir cups. I did call in my Loews number when I received it after my reservation, but I don't think this mattered. I just showed them my Loews card when I got there and asked specifically for an upgrade to the club level. I think these were the only rooms available so I'm sure that helped. My sister-in-law stayed at PBH but she did not have a Loews membership so I can't help with upgrades there. The first part of my trip report is now up. Thanks for the welcome back!
