After we returned home my DH and I were talking about our trip and I think we finally found the magic. We met so many nice people. Especially people from different countries. We met people from England,Scotland, Australia,Austria,Poland,& Ireland. One man from Scotland was telling us how much a tank of gasoline cost in their country. We were astonished when he said $7.50 a gallon. His last word to us b4 we got on the ride was "laugh next time you fill up your gas tank." Everytime I go to the gas station now I think of him. We met another family from Australia while we were watching a small rabbit in the grass nibbling at Magic Kingdom. The little boy told my DS he had seen a squirrel the following day and was so excited about seeing it too. DS not realizing this boy had never seen a squirrel before. The boy informed us they don't have squirrels in their country. I think that is one of the biggest parts of the magic to meet so many people from soo many different countries. I hope that everyone else out there that goes to Disney has as great a trip as we had.

I'm an "old-timer" at WDW (and haven't been there since the old times).

Our first trip to Epcot was in December of 1981, when it had only been open a few months. We waited in line in 90 degree heat for three hours (yup, that's right, 3 hours!) for Spaceship Earth behind a young woman who had travelled alone from Bombay, India, just to see Epcot. My son, who was 6 at the time, has great memories of the hours spent chatting with her about India. In fact, when he went back to school, he did a report about that experience (we had taken him out of school for our two-week trip, and his first-grade teacher made him promise to report on the most interesting thing that he learned).

Back in those days, almost everyone else there seemed to be from New Jersey!
