I was able to rent a power chair for my husband through Care Medical for our trip in 11 short days! Thanks for the advice. I thought I had read somewhere on here that you had to be present when the chair or scooter was dropped off and that this made Walker Mobility a better choice. I learned today that you do not have to be present at the drop-off or pick-up from Care Medical. The rate for the chair is higher than the scooter though - $45/day which is $315 per week. They were able to accomodate his request for a 20-inch seat which was nice.

Randy's is the one that requires you to be present when the scooter is delivered. Care Medical has always delivered before you arrive. They also do not require a credit card and will take cash where Walker will not. Credit card only.
Care Medical only requires you to be there at delivery if you are paying cash.

I wasn't sure if you would need to be there for a power wheelchair to be delivered (because of needing to do more adjustments than on an ecv or a manual wheelchair). It sounds like they could get what they needed for your DH without actually having him there. It might be that when we were talking about my DD and renting a power chair, she has a lot more specialization needs.

Hope you have a great time. Let us know how it worked out when you get back.

Thanks for all of the help. I probably just misread the info before. The seach function is gone so I am having trouble locating old posts.

Actually DH does not have any special seating needs, other than the 20 inch seat, so that is probably why we did not need to be there when they showed up - nothing extra to operate or adjust.

I forgot to ask her what type of chair it was, but I guess it does not really matter.

When we were trying to arrange renting a power wheelchair, they did want to know what brand and what model DD used. You might want to ask what kind it is, just so you know that what you think you are getting is what you do get.
