I promised pics as soon as I got a working scanner, LOL. Here are a few from Don's and my Carnival Cruise. The first one is the ship, the second is the catamaran we took for a snorkelling tour and the rest are a few candid pics we took and some professional (the b&w got cut off during the scanning, not sure why) pics taken on board. :)

Son! You are gorgeous! I've seen pics before, but I'm always so taken aback when I see pics of you. And Don is one fine looking man there too, my friend. I see the resemblence between Nik and him, for sure. You both look very happy, and those are lovely pics.

a couple of Questions -
I am going on a Carnival Cruise for Christmas this year. Barring DH changing jobs (again) and my getting laid off, we will be leaving from New Orleans. Did you go in ahead of the cruise, and if so, did you do anything in NO? We haveb't been there, always wanted to, and I hope I won't be dissapointed. We would probably go out the night before for drinks and music and then do the benight (SP is wrong) in the am before we board, but what else might we do with no car?

mickeyfan1, we stayed overnight in NO and had a GREAT time! We got a great rate at the Ambassador and had the most wonderful seafood gumbo at Mother's. We walked all over the French Quarter, had breakfast beignets at Cafe DuMonde, and just generally had a really nice time. :)

Thanks for that. Would you recommend the Hotel? Did you book it yourself or through Carnival? And about what time didyou board/sail?

We booked in ourselves. The hotel was fine. It was clean, comfortable, and we got it for about $60 a night through whatever website it was I found that when I typed in "cheap New Orleans" LOL! We liked it and would stay there again. I will try and find it again for you. Mother's was a block away, doesn't look like much, but has GREAT seafood gumbo. :)
We intended to board earlier than we actually did, we had a car and parking was kind of a pain. Get there as early as they will let you board, sometimes they have spa discounts for early boarders. ;) :)

Sonja, ya'll make such a happy looking couple!
Thanks for sharing the pics.
Mickeyfan, if you want to splurge on a great meal, try Commander's Palace, a N.O. landmark, with awesome food and a fabulous atmosphere.

Sonja,
My husband and I went on the Holiday in November. Great pics!!
To anyone,
Another great place to stay at is the Embassy Suites. We got a deal on hotels.com, and it is walking distance to the port, mall, and Emerils is right down the street. Another great place to get advice about cruises is cruisecritic.com. That is where I got my "Non-Disney" advice.;)

"Tell all"....yikes.....I need help there, LOL. Please ask questions, I can give good info if I have questions, I have no clue where to start. :) :) :)
Nik, your brother is gorgeous, and even better looking on the inside. Not that you don't know that, but I look for shameless opportunities to repeat it. http://www.disboards.com/images/smilies/teeth.gif
Mamajoan, Don isn't my hubbie quite yet, but we're working on it. ;) :)
Thanks for the kind words, y'all! :) :) :) :) :)

I guess "tell all" was a bit much;)
how was the service? the condition of the ship? your cabin?
Thanks!!

Service was top-notch, ship was in excellent condition, looked great, and we loved our cabin. It was an inside cabin, which I wasn't sure I would like, but was very happy with! We were sleeping at odd times and it was so nice to be able to make it completely dark when we wanted to. :) :) :) I'm ready to go again!
