Karen and Emma and family, I hope you all have a safe journey :-) See ya soon!!!!!!!!!!!!
Karen, (the other one ;) ) any idea how much a sorceror Mickey hat is? Not the one with lights in it, but the one that has the ears attached? I have a plain wizard hat for my DH, but I would like him to have the Mickey Ears one. Would you be willing to pick one up for me?
Ginger, are you speaking on regular cupcake papers? If so, I believe I have some in my cabinet as I type :-) One thing though, I will have to break away at about 1030 or 11pm and go pick my parents up at MCO. ( BUMMER, I know) but I figured they can save the money on a rental, and that will be one less thing we have to worry about doing in Saturday. How many of us are going to be using the Radisson's shuttle? I know we are.
I am hoping to leave here on Friday, early morning, that way we can relax and hang out at the Rad. BUT DH does not have that day off at this time :( SO, if he doesnt get that day off, we may not be able to leave here until 4pm EST. That means it would be late when we get in. I will let you know for sure Ginger. How are we supposed to find each other? Are we having any kind of meet at the Rad? I have talked to Shirley, and she told me that she will not be in town next weekend :( so I will not get the opportunity to meet her.
Tina, after looking at the prices on the Halloween gifts, I too decided not to order anything. I have already order my brats  a basket from Shirlery, and I am figuring from the talks and postings of everyone here, the kids will be getting more than candy in their treat bags. I figured they probably wouldn't need anymore :earsboy:
I am NOT :earseek: packed yet!! But I do have everything together, I just need to put it in our bags and sort through it all.
Rae, I hope you all have a blast at USO/IOA. It looks like this thread is thinning out as people head on out! LOL I will be posting until Thursday!!!!!!

Safe travels to all that are heading out in the next few days.
I haven't had much time for this board lately as I am so behind in preparations. Not packed, but have things laid out for one of my kids. I guess I just work best under pressure, at least I hope so!
Do most of you bring your own snorkling gear for Castaway Cay? Trying to decide how many suitcases to take. I worry about where to store the suitcases if we bring too many!
Only one more week - yippee! :Pinkbounc
Thank you again, from the bottom of my heart, to all of you on this board for your great advice, your wonderful humor, and the warm friendly atmosphere of this thread. It will be so much fun to meet you in person once we set sail. :wave2: Carlotta

Hey Amanda - No idea how much they are - but no problem about picking one up for you - Do you have a limit on how much you want to spend on it? I will probably be going on Monday - so if anyone else out there needs anything - I am picking up an autograph book and personalized name tags for my girls -
"Thank you again, from the bottom of my heart, to all of you on this board for your great advice, your wonderful humor, and the warm friendly atmosphere of this thread. It will be so much fun to meet you in person once we set sail. Carlotta"

Don't know if any of the more "organized" folks are around, but perhaps someone who still is could do a quick recap of the different events that have flowed through this thread?
Happy trails everyone, never thought it would get to less than a week to go! I keep telling Sophia, less than 7 days until the Mickey Ship!

Carlotta: If you lift the bed a little, you can slide most suitcases underneath they tell us. We used to put them in the closet but others also said that your Stateroom Host will take them and store them if you need them out of the way.
We took our own snorkel geer for all our excursions, including Castaway Cay on our last cruise. We enjoyed having our own. But it did take up a whole little suitcase. On the other hand, that gave us nooks and crannies for our Halloween treats and space for souvenirs.
John: We are not going this year, so I have not kept track of what is happening officially. But do remember that there is a Palos brunch and Trick or Treat for the kids. The last couple pages of this thread seem to have had some updates on those events, so maybe if you reread the last 3 or 4 pages you can get it. Or maybe Ginger is still home and can post. Not sure if Rae will be able to get on as she leaves tomorrow, but I forget when Ginger is leaving.
Worst case scenerio--leave a message at Guest Services for each of them--Rae Reichert, Ginger and Bill Sparr, and/or Karen and Mark Hickmore (parents of Emma--aka--Rose Greenthumb who started this thread) and include your questions with your stateroom number so they can get back to you.
Have a great time,
Jan :earsgirl:

John,
Here's what I know...
Saturday we are having a meet up at the front of deck 10, at the time of the sailaway party. Look for lime green (and shirts that have Lord of the Rings and the name Rose Greenthumb)
Monday we were planning on brunch around 10:30. So far it is just Karen and Mark, Rae and her mom Lily and me, my parents (Ralph and Sherry) and my sister Kristen. If you and your wife were interested in that; Karen is making the reservations. Just go to Palo when you embark, make the brunch reservations and asked to be linked to Karen and Mark Hickmore (I'll get the room number for you)
Thursday is the Trick or Treat event, meeting at 1:00. The list is about two pages back with where to meet, and the names and staterooms of those participating.
Thursday around 4 is the Ladies Tea, also at Palos. I can't remember if your wife signed up but again, if she is interested she can book it the first day and link to Hickmore.
The guys also discussed meeting for some guy thing - no real details were discussed. Just beer.
And of course we will have football sunday. I'm sure at least some of us will be in the new sports bar for at least part of the day.
That's all I can think of right now. Can't wait to meet everyone. Try to find me as I am bringing Mickey pins for nametags. I'll be in a lime green top with lime green luggage.

Had to make one last post before I head off to bed with amorous hubby and afterwards, a sleeping pill - I think everything is packed, I hope I have enough of everything (music, video tapes and snacks).....but at least we can stop at WallyWorld if we forget something.
Can't wait to see you all -

Just got done with a ton of ironing. Tomorrow we'll drag the suitcases out of the closet. The guest room is going to be a complete disaster! :duck:
Hard to believe it's almost here. Seems like we've been waiting forever! And we've only been booked since May. Others have been booked alot longer! :hyper:
If there are any others leaving in the next day or so, have a safe trip!

Hi All!:wave2:
I too am not ready, nothing packed. So far behind I may never get done. BUT, I'll be there. I was thinking if we were all nudist we wouldn't have this to do. LOL
Great Amanda! Let me know when you think you'll be arriving.
Dena when do you think you'll be getting to the Radisson?
We'll be there arriving sometime Thursday afternoon, not sure since we're driving down. Ashley and I will be at the Radisson pretty much all day Friday hanging out at by pool, weather permiting. DH is thinking about a fishing excursion for that day.
We'll be driving to the port, DH will drop us off with the baggage then he'll return to the Radisson park the "bus" (Excursion) LOL and get the shuttle to the ship.
I'll be around here till Wednesday night. Keep posting.
Going  till then.

Hey everyone!
We spent some time yesterday at Epcot with Karen, Mark and kids. We had a great time. They are the nicest people!!! And they have a great sense of humor. And my DS and DD hung out and talk with their twin boys. Which I was very happy about so hopefully they, (mostly my DS) will have someone to hang with on the cruise.:teeth:
Ginger: I am planning to get to the Radisson around 4 or 5. How are we going to meet up with everyone? Will we have a specific meeting time and place? Where are we going to do the strawberries? Let me know.

Hi Everybody -
Just finished packing and watching the World Series. (Go Yankees!) I still have a few odds and ends to get together but I consider it done. I think that we probably packed too much! It took two days to iron and put everthing together but at least it's finished.
See you all soon!

Good job Carole!
You are way ahead of me. I have some things laid out but nothing packed yet! Call me crazy but I think I am actually going to plan on doing laundry at least once onboard. That way I can pack less. I hope I don't regret this decision once I get onboard
Looking forward to meeting you and your family very soon. Ciao for now! Carlotta

Hi Everyone,
We are still here. Will be leaving Thursday morning. We are also driving down.
I think we have everything together. We just need to put it in bags. We got DSs things together tonight. I could not bring myself to iron. I keep telling myself that the laundry room is just down the hall from our cabin.
Dena: I am glad you had a good time with Karen and her family. I am looking forward to all of us getting together.
We will be arriving at the Radisson sometime Thursday evening and will probably spend a good part of Friday at the pool.
Time for bed. Three more days of work and then I am free.

Instead of spending the day packing (like we should have) we went to the Brown's game yesterday, and the Brown's gave another winless team their first victory. So now we are mad that we did not stay home.
We have stuff laid out, but will probably pull another late nighter on Thursday - we fly out early Friday.
If I'm the last one out, I'll get the lights!

Hi everyone!
John, (hope you're feeling better by the way!), I think we might be one of the last ones. We're flying out late Friday night. Now I'm really wishing we had gone ahead one day early like everyone else. Oh well, maybe next time!
Did more ironing last night. Still haven't dragged the suitcases out of the closet. With a baby, time just gets away sometimes!
Hope everyone has a nice day! :wave2:

Hi-
Hope everyone has a safe trip down. I bribed my 5 year old to help watch my 2 year old and got my ironing and packing done :bounce:
I think I am taking too much. One little suitcase alone is nite diapers, pull ups, wipes, sand toys. One duffle bag is almost all Halloween
I figure I can feel up the 2 bags with gifts or they are a set so will store within each other.
I had a hard time packing this year  Since we are driving down for SC on Friday to the Radisson I packed a separate bag for WDW after the cruise.
Still think I have too much and always do laundry but I keep telling myself ok my 5 year old get 6 outfits, 4 pair of shorts and 5 t-shirts..............I was awake until midnight going thru it in my head. I think I am being a little A Type
Hugs and safe wishes to you all

Dena, we can do the strawberries in my room on Friday afternoon. I think we'll be getting there around 3 pm on Thursday. But, I am sure we'll be to tired to do much.
I think Ashley and I will be hanging at the pool also on Friday so we can meet there. I'm sure we'll be wearing something Disney I 'll have my Halloween Cruiser shirt from last year on me or on a chair by the pool.
You gals keep up that ironing, it'll be my turn Wednesday morning.

I can't believe all the ironing that is going on here! How are you gals going to keep all those clothes from getting wrinkled again when you pack them? Just keep it quiet, don't want my husband to hear all that ironing -

I am nearly done packing. Just have to get stuff together for the Raddison. When we get onboard, I am handing over a mountain of clothes to be pressed by the nice floks on the ship. I ironed our everyday clothes, but all of the evening stuff is being sent out.
Buzz&Woody's mom- I packed a separate bag for our 4 days at Universal. I think it will pay off in the long run.
I am trying my hardest to stay away from ALL laundry related items on this vacation. ::yes::
buzz&woody'smom
10-20-2003, 01:18 PM
Yes, I think the separate bag for our 4 days at WDW and yours for Universal is a good idea.
I ended up with 3 suitcases (28", 24" and 21"), a stuffed garment bag and a stuffed tote full of Halloween candy, treats and both costumes...............I think that is pretty good considering I also have a lot of beach toys, googles, and my snorkel gear plus pullups, nite diapers and swim diapers for the beach.
My 2.5 son is potty trained but I don't want to take any chances of accidents bc of the change in rountine and excitement :p
Question-What are you ladies wearing Mexicali Night?
This is also the first time that I have never booked any excursions. I thought in Key West trolley or train, Grand Caymen, taxi to 7 Mile Beach and Cozumel taxi to Chakanab

Thanks Karen, whats the damage? Are you going to be at the Radisson? I forget? If not, then maybe at the sail away party.
Ginger, looks like my DH will be able to get Friday off of work, so we will probably be arriving at the Rad around 3 or 4 pm :-)
My room looks like a torpedo went thru it. All our stuff is on the floor, we have NO room to walk! LOL How I am going to manage packing for 5 people, AND a seperate case for my baby who is staying with my Dmil, well that is going to be interesting.
Bad news tho, The school called me today at work and let me know Taylor was complaining of a sore throat and has a fever of 101.8! OUCH I went and picked her up and immediately called our PED. So I am going to take her in tommorrow. Hopefully it is nothing a little antibiotics won't cure.
KarenH and Emma and family! Glad to know you all made it safely and are having a blast! Cant wait to meet you all!
Tiff, I second the vote on a 2nd bag for the WDW portion of your trip!
laurenk! ME too about the laundry! LOL I will not do ANY while I am on the ship! NONE ZILCH NADA!!
Tina, when are you all expected to land at MCO? My parents are landing at 1130pm! Late night for me, as guess who gets to pick them up? LOL Where are you all staying at?
John, shame on you going to a game instead of preparing for our trip! TSK TSK :teeth:
Rochelle, lucky you for being so close to the laundry room. Then you can snaek in at less busy times. I don't know why it shocks me, but it does, the fact that DCL only has 3 laundry rooms???? DID I read that right??????????
Carlotta, YES you are crazy!!!!!! hehehe I was going to do laundry on board and then I read the above about the number of laundry rooms and I said FORGET IT!
Carole, since your all done how about making a pit stop and come and get my packing done? I just can't get motivated for some reason>???????????

Ironing, worrying about trick or treat, packing, our dining room looking like a lost luggage explosion - and this is supposed to be a vacation?????? To top it all off - Mexicalli night ! To quote Charlie Brown Arghhhhhhhhhhhh. (I did buy a Tropical Cleveland Brown's shirt in Cleveland on Sunday though!
DD now has a runny nose, and I have to run her to the Dr. on Wed - why does it always seem the germs know when we are getting ready for vacation????
If I did not believe we would have a wonderful time as always, we would have a breakdown or just chuck it all!
Ready for at least one stress session as we try to get ready -and I'm at work late tonight, with meetings tonight and tomorrow night. If we survive getting down there, it will all be OK - right????

Hello everyone! We have everything ready to go, just need to put it in the bags. I'm not ironing until we get there, everytime I iron ahead of time it just gets all wrinkled again!
It's in the low 80s here in Denver, I can't believe this weather! We've been telling the kids for over a year now how nice it will be to go somewhere warm in October, but now it's so warm here! I think my co-workers will be glad to see us go, they're sick to death of me talking about this cruise!!
Safe travels to all, we're leaving here 8am Wednesday. Can't wait to meet all of you.

Hi Everyone,
Sure seems like everyone is really busy! I can't believe that I have actually finished packing early. I'm not usually motivated to do it early myself but I learned my lesson the last time that I went away. Trying to pack at 4 am the day of the black out taught me to get my act in gear. I have to work thru Thursday so this past weekend was my last chance. Tiffany, I think that you did a fantastic job getting all that stuff into 3 suitcases and a garment bag.
I also don't plan on doing laundry while on vacation. If something is really wrinkled when we unpack I will send it out to get pressed.
For Mexicali night I got my husband a cool black shirt that is covered with Mexican items like chili peppers and tequila bottles. I love the idea of a tropical Brown's shirt. Wonder if I could find one like that for the Jets. The girls are going to wear Mexican style dresses that I got on Ebay and I'm wearing a gauzy 2 piece embroidered dress. We can't wait for the party to begin!
Carlotta - Rachel received the ribbon in the mail today. She is very excited to wear it!:Pinkbounc
Well, that's all for now. Have to take the girl's to dance class. Hope everyone has a great evening!

I guess I better get to packing. Just wanted to stop in one last time and wish everyone that hasn't already left safe travels. I have to work a half day tomorrow and then we're out of here.
Tiff - Don't feel bad; I sent my Halloween stuff down ahead of time with my aunt (she's not cruising just doing Disney). Thank goodness they were driving because I don't know how I would have gotten it on the plane.
I agree, I'm sending stuff out to be pressed when I get on the ship. How expensive can it really be?
Have a great night and I will see you all soon. We had a slight design hitch in the lime green Mickey pins, so I'll have orange pumpkins. That and a lime green shirt.

10-20-2003, 09:15 PM
For Mexicali night I plan on buying something in Cozumel for myself. Everyone else in my family has something tropical to wear. I have seen several posts where people say that clothes can be purchased pretty inexpensively in Cozumel.
Tiffany- That is pretty light packing! I have 4 suitcases, and 2 garment bags for a family of four. Also 2 carry-ons. I think we did pretty good.
I went to go pick up my DS dress pants and DH shirts from the dry cleaner today, and the pants were stained. They were brand new. They promise they will have them fixed by tommorrow. They looked like khakis tye died with blue:mad:
For TorT I decided to fill the bags once on board. They were going to need their own suitcase otherwise. Don't forget to print out your list of cabins everyone!!!

I did try and keep packing to a minimum. I like to think I have it down to a science but it is hard to pack for my guys. I can always do laundry or send out if needed and buy t-shirts too and sweatshirts like we did last year :p
I am excited to see and meet everyone too. My family is not wearing anything special but my boys are 2.5 (a big 2 year old) and 5 and we will most likely be with my DM and DF a lot and my DM's scooter is candy apple red so you can not miss it :earseek:
Come up and introduce yourself if I don't see you all first :wave2: We will be at the Radisson Friday night but not getting in until evening so see you all soon :teeth: and be SAFE!

Wow - The thread was quiet over the weekend, and now I can't catch up -
Amanda - We are not staying at the Rad on Fri - We'll be at the Hilton (It's a miles thing - Husband is obessesed with earning miles) - We will not have a car either or I would run it over to you - I'll just get you on the ship -
I am sending things out to be pressed when we get on the ship - If I start ironing, my husband will wonder where his real wife went!
:hyper:
Mexicali night - Jhalkias - I'm with you - One more thing to worry about - I'll probably just get something in port -
I'm hoping to get packing done tomorrow (yeah right) - I think I need to belong to overpackers annonymous (sp?)
Take care everyone,

Amanda, we're arriving in Orlando at about 930pm. Figured we'd just take it easy and rest up there, rather than having to land then drive another hour or so to the Radisson. If it was just me & DH, we probably would have gone on. Hope Taylor is feeling better real soon!
John, Hope your DD is feeling better too. Next time, don't tell the germs you're leaving! And your tropical Browns shirt is neat. Sounds like you'll be right at home wearing it!
Tiff, don't worry too much about the packing, it will all work itself out! ::yes:: Most of the time I don't even use half of the stuff we pack! Should have seen us on the 1st cruise we took. I think we had 3 suitcases just for the 2 of us! Oh well, we learned!
For traveling, I've found it helps if you roll the clothes. Less wrinkles that way. Plus I always bring a travel steamer. If there are any wrinkles, a quick touch up with the steamer does the trick! If anyone needs to borrow it, don't hesitate to ask!
Well, safe travels to all leaving tonight & tomorrow! Sigh, a few more days for me. It will get here eventually!

No bags packed here yet. Costumes are not finished, I'll have to finish them aboard. We leave tomorrow night.
We have a parent-teacher conference at 8 a.m.. After that I plan on heading home to pack, load and fuel up.
We'll be doing laundry, or Bill will. He likes to keep up with it so we(he) have less to do when we get home.
Amanda, glad to read the your DH is getting off on Friday. That'll give us time to chat and make the strawberries.
Tina, rolling is a great idea, I'll give it a try. Everything I iron end's up all wrinkled.
I'll bring up the list one more time.
If I get a minute tomorrow I'll check in but, if I don't SEE Y'ALL THERE.

Everyone have a safe trip. We are leaving Thursday afternoon.
My aunt tried to get a room at the Raddison for Friday night and was told that it was booked solid!!! She is meeting us for the day.
Does anyone know if they are still doing the Talent Show? My DD really wants to play "Mickey Mouse March".

 I tried to post last night but my whole post disappeared and I got a message saying the board will be down for 15 min. Twenty-five minutes later I went to bed.
Anyway, we got our shirts done last night. Beautiful lime green. We will probably wear them at sail away. For Mexicali night, I am going to wear a blouse I got in Cozumel last year.
Dzneprincess : I don't really remember but I think you are correct that there are 3 laundry rooms. The one on deck 2 was only busy on formal night.
One more day of work and we are leaving early on Thursday. I am going to get up about the same time I get up for work. I am sure it will be easier than on a work day.
Finishing up the last bit of packing tonight. I had better get back to it. I may try to post tomorrow night but if I do not make it......Travel safely and we will see you soon.

Doing laundry and packing. Getting ready to leave early tomorrow. I know I had to get the harness..............I never thought it would come to this. My 5 year old son is so sweet and so is my toddler just wild like Donnie in the Wild Thornberrie's :p ...........he is just all out from the moment he gets up until he sleeps, he won't nap and only sleeps about 10 hours a night  so I am not sure where he gets the energy. I will try and check back in tonight.
Good luck packing and be safe!!

Sounds like I may be the last one to leave. We leave Friday afternoon, so I'll get the lights. :teeth:
Tiff, a harness is not cruel. It is a safety measure that is just plain necessary with some kids and it means you love your child. You are a good mom and you know what is best for your child. Don't let anyone make you feel otherwise.
I'm still busy trying to get everything packed. I'm such a Type A that I don't want to forget anything and am probably packing way more than we need. Oh well, it's that old girl scout thing I keep hearing in my head, "Be prepared."

Sorry to say it look,s as if I might be last to leave I have a meeting I cant get out of Friday night. We are flying out of JFK at 8:00 am Sat. Bet I dont get much sleep Friday night!!! I will check the doors and shut the lights if I have the Dubious honnor of being the last one home!!! I have a couple of last minute questions, What are the posible dinning room rotations? I know that when we check in we get our dinner rotations. when we get on the ship wich way to go and make res for Palo? Thanx!!!
JLSE50
10-23-2003, 09:36 PM
NADTWINS: I do not know how you find out your rotation before getting your KTW cards at check-in.
After crossing onto the ship, PALO is on Deck 10 AFT which is LEFT as you board. AFT is the back of the ship. FORE is the FRONT.
Go straight ahead, pass the MICKEY AT THE HELM statue infront of LUMIERE'S, turn LEFT when there is a hall down the PORT (left as you face the front--PORT has four letters and LEFT has four lettrs. STARBOARD has more than four letters and so does RIGHT)
Go past PROMENADE LOUNGE to the next left turn which is stairs and elevators. It is before PARROT CAY (our favorite restaurant!!).
These elevators are likely to be less busy than the ones in the main lobby across from the MICKEY AT THE HELM statue which is why I did not direct you to them.
Take the elevators to Deck 10 and you are in the lobby of PALO. Once you make your reservations, walk out on the deck and the VIEW will knock you over.
ENJOY THE WEEK!

I filled out our doc's and since I am taking my MIL with DH gone she will use her credit card to make purchaes and of course I will use mine on my KTTWC. Can she fill out her doc's with her cc and me mine or do we need to change it later at Guest Services. Each set of doc's gives an individual form for all info including cc info?
Also my doc's and luggage tags had my old stateroom so I crossed thru it and wrote in the new one on the tags and all thru the doc's...........hope that was ok.
Will formal night be Sunday and semi Thursday?
Be safe!
Tiff
JLSE50
10-23-2003, 09:50 PM
TIFF: I am not sure about the credit card thing, but you could have both those pages filled out and then ask when you check in. If there is a problem with doing it that way, they will tell you and not accept the other charging information. I suspect it will work though, but we never did it. By having the form filled out you will save time at the check-in no matter how they tell you to handle it.
Marking out the room number on the tag is probably fine, especially if you used a nice, dark sharpie marker so it is OBVIOUS. Worst case scenerio--some luggage goes to the old room. So if something does not show up, start asking your stateroom host and/or call Guest Services.
There is no guanentee when Formal and Semi formal night will be on any cruise. It seems that the rotation of these events is changed from time to time and especially so when there is a holiday during the cruise as you have.
We just checked the NAVIGATOR each night, found out what was scheduled for the next night and dressed accordingly when that meal rolled around. We are PLANNERS (type J on the Myers-Briggs Personality Survey) so it was not easy, but we gave ourselves permission to be flexible since it was a vacation.
HAVE A GREAT TIME!!

Tiff- Have your MIL fill out her form for charging priviliges at check in. They can put her card on her KTTW card. I did this on out last cruise where I took our MIL.
We are packed - only two large suitcases, a garment bag, and two small carry ons. I keep thinking I HAVE forgotten something!
Flying out today at 1:40, and MNSSHP tonight!
See you all at the first DISmeet on the ship - if we don't see you chasing your kids around in the terminal - as I will be doing the same with my three year old. I will try and dig out some lime green ribbon before I leave - I had one on my old DCL blue cap with my CClub pin.
Since I wont be the last out - I won't turn out the lights!

The information that I have recived here I belive will help Ne and my family get more out of our cruise. I get a very true sence of famly here from the bicering right through to the very caring and thoughtfulnes of the people are involved here. Maybe that is reason enough to take another Disney Cruies!! Does anyone have any idea what ship was docked in front of the MAGIC at Key West?
Jan :earsgirl:
Jan,
It was a Holland America Line ship. The name began with a Z I think. It looked very much a poor relation to the Magic.
The Carnival Glory was behind us - that was the biggest but the Magic was the most beautiful It's true, size isn't everything!

Amanda and gang checking in here :-) I just had a fabulous 7 day vacation so can someone please explain to me why I am sooooooooooooooo sad? I feel like i have post partum depression!:faint: It was such a pleasure to meet all of you. I caught up with quackattak (Rochelle and family) , zitosfamily, and carole88 and family! The above 3 were in the same dining rotation with us, and I was lucky enough to get seated with Carole and her family! What a pleasure that was! I really enjoyed it! I also met very briefly other Dis'ers. My family had the pleasure of meeting up with Ginger, Bill and Ashley at the Rad. We made strawberries with her, as well as Dena and her DH and kids. Then we all went out to dinner, less Dena, as she had dinner plans with her family already! I rebooked onboard for the 11/27/04 sailing as I couldn't resist the $200 per room credit and the great deal on that week, but I am seriously considering moving it to Halloween again, as we had soo much fun. I am so glad that Ginger took the time to organize a TOT hunt for us, as Disney's was laughable!
WE did Capt Bryans with Dena's sister and it was wonderful! We also did the Dolphin Royal Swim which was WORTH every PENNY!!!!!!!!!!
WE did parasailing at CC, banana boat, surial bath, Palo brunh, I did the Chakra ahhhhhhhhhhhh is it over already ?? I hope we can keep in touch, and Carole, again I can't reiterate enough how much we all enjoyed sitting with you, John, Rachel and Tessa!!!!!

We made it home Sat. at about 5:30 pm. We all feel like we are still on the Magic (staggering around from the motion).
DS got sick the last night. Called the ships nurse and got Phenergan for him at 6am on Saturday. The Nurse was great! While disembarking several CM ask about our stateroom number.
Which made us feel good that they cared about future cruisers.
I am sure they cleaned that stateroom from top to bottom.
However, don't really know what he had, (Norwalk,Flu,Seasickness,or food poison?) DS just keep throwing up/dry heaves, no fever or other s/s.
We all had a wonderful time and cant wait to do it again.
Loved TOT. Great job Ginger!
Our DS was the shark-he loved every moment. He also won the Mickey 200.
DMom was the witch passing out the goodies bags, she loved seeing all the great costumes. She was also the one Darren Romeo selected to go on stage for the magic rose trick. One of the high lights of the cruise for her.
Thank-you to all.

We had another wonderful cruise and such fun meeting everyone from the board. But, Saturday morning came much to fast for me. We got home at 1:00 am Sunday morning drove straight thru.
We rebooked aboard to get the $200. onboard credits also Amanda. We booked the same stateroom 2052 it's in a good location, just a few doors away from the Midship elevators.
Looking forward to a year of planning for next years Halloween cruise.
But, before I really get into that I've got to take time off from the board to get my house finished. Drywall is hung, no mud yet it's coming tomorrow. Any painters out there? That's my job, Bill going to lay the Bamboo flooring this weekend. I still have to order the stone part of the flooring, doing that tomorrow. Appl's have been ordered waiting for them to come in. Finally coming together, looks like it's going to be finished by Christmas, YAHOO!!!!!

Hope Rochelle comes back to post. I knew because we had a chance to talk before one of the plays but, don't want to post here 'cause it's her big announcement. Come on Rochelle - I'm no good at secrets!
Just wanted to let you all know, if you haven't seen the other thread on the main board, that we got home - in the end. We were turned back to Orlando on our way to Washington and by the time they had sorted out a technical fault, we had missed our connection to the UK. We stayed overnight in Washington and then spent most of Tuesday at the airport waiting for an evening flight to London. 3 more hours at Heathrow, then finally on to Manchester and home, exhausted but still kept going by the memories of the cruise. It was great to meet you all and we are already planning for next year. We got a good rate on board so have re-booked and cancelled the resrevation we had already made with Dreams. Horses are doing great. We are fine. Had a quiet Thanksgiving with the flu - planning our next cruise 4/17/04, and the trip to Marian sites in June and looking forward to 2005 sailing and land touring in Alaska.
I didn't take as many pictures this time as I had in the past - got only one of Michael and Mom in their costumes, and none of me.

Several of my friends have looked at my photos and all of them have said how good Michael's costume was!
I meant to tell you actually Rae, I've started writing a play. It's only the begining and it's not very good but it's there and I'm enjoying writing it.
We're having a day in January where we pay a pound and we come dressed up as someone from a TV programme/film/musical etc! It's going to be so much fun! Although when you consider how few people would even wear jeans for a day I'm not sure how many people will actually participate!

Hi Ginger -
Selling the points to help out a friend whose a single mom - there were times in my life when I needed a friend, and people were there - so it's MY turn to return the favor to another.
No nibbles so far but with only 28 points for 2004, I didn't think it would be easy and quick to sell it off. I still have 100 at VB and 400 at HH to use.
We splurged for a big one present for all of us this year - a hot tub - of course, Michael will still get presents, but for us adults - it's HOT TUB TIME!
BEST NEWS:
A friend wrote that Fidelio will be at two different venues for his fans in the USA - Tennessee and New York. Michael, Mom, Tom and I are thrilled and trying to figure out how to plot our trip down to Memphis to see The Piano Guy.
Yes, Fidelio still rocks and rules!

GINGER: Are any photos of the house posted anywhere? It sounds super!
EMMA: Tell me about the Halloween costume--where did you find that DRESS??
I just spent two weeks with my mother...... I was drained by the increasing difficulty I saw her have in carrying on a conversation or completing a task. I feared we were soon going to be putting her in a nursing home, not just moving her to my sister's home as my sister would like. The day after I got home I learned that the testing done by the Alzheimer's specialists showed she did not have dementia, she was SEVERELY DEPRESSED!
:Pinkbounc WAHOO!! :Pinkbounc
Depression usually responds to medicine as the brain chemicals are out of whack. Dementia means dead brain cells. We got a reprieve! What a Christmas present!

Jan thats wonderful news! :bounce: I imagine it is very emotionally stressful to have the tables turned, and suddenly you and parent switch garegiver roles. I am glad you made it home safely, and hope y'all have a wonderful and magical holiday.
Ginger, I wanna see some new pics of the house too!

AMANDA: Mother is now in Eufaula with my sister Barb. My brother will join them for Christmas. I await Barb's reports on how things are going and am hoping to hear that she is happier there than she was in October. Barb would so much like her to move in with them and if what she has is depression, that is a better possibility than if it was dementia. During my visit to New York I was using every reasonable opportunity to plug Eufaula as a retirement location. I figure that if you have a daughter who can and wants to have you move it, go for it.
RAE: What did I do? The card for Michael? How did it get there so fast?

RAE: Am I correct in assuming that your regular postman is not the fastest horse in the coral? and that the sub is a racehorse?

Hey, when is your next vacation? ANYWHERE?
What about the Halloween 2004 cruisers?
Rae
Hi guys, nice to see that this thread is still alive and kicking.
Rae, did you get the pictures of Michael?
We are almost ready for Christmas here. I have been to 3 concerts by the choir Emma belongs to and I am so proud of that girl, I can't tell you. They sound so beautiful; I wish you could all hear them.
We are off to Mark's parents for the weekend later today to hand over gifts and see the family. The weather forecast is awful so I hope we don't get snowed in on the other sid eof the country.
It's cold wet and horrid here today - oh to be back on the Magic. Still only 10 months to go. How about it Jan & Rae? Are you sure we can't tempt you?
much love
Karen

Karen - how are you?!??? Yes, Mark was so sweet to do that for me! Thank you sooooo much!
I've progressed from bronchitis to pneumonia but it looks like I'm heading UPhill now in health.
The mare I once owned Jynx had a little sorrel filly two weeks ago - looks beautiful but as a mare, it has the monthly hex on her so I am glad I didn't keep Jynx just to get the foal.
My "three sons" are doing great - Red, Tytefit and Cheyenne - love those boys dearly!
But not as much as my Michael!
Hey, when are you going to cruise again???? October? We might be headed to Puerto Rico on 9/4 since both Paul and Kaye will be going and my other adopted sons, Jason and Travis (Three Circles). Hard to say no when it's friends - that goes for you also.
Wish we had more time together, maybe next cruise???
We leave for Portugal on May 23, and leave from Paris on June 4 - can't wait, the pilgrimage looks so wonderful and we are soooo excited -especially me, Roots and all that!
Rae
