Welcome aboard! I think we're down to 10 weeks now! We'll be able to book our excursions soon!
rae519

Yes, 10 weeks sounds a lot better than 70 days!!!!! But then again, Emma, you actually do start your vacation earlier as do some of us......so maybe it's okay to say "9 weeks" or "61" days!!!!!! Sort of makes it sound closer!!!!
Well, Michael is back on Jynx and able to trail ride by himself - what a horseman!!! Jynx is calmer and smaller than Red, so I'm back on Red.
Okay, so we get to the stable and switch all the horse tack around - and get hooked up with a trail guide to ride. We do great until I get a little "overzealous" with my "whoa" and Red and I do the "Lone Ranger" imitation!!!!
No, I didn't fall off!!!!!!! And it was EXCITING! But the trail guide nearly had a heart attack.
Conclusion - I'm still too inexperienced a rider to know when I am in danger...and too much of a thrill seeker to worry.....but too darn old to mend if I fall and break something!!!!
Back in the round pen for 30 days now!!!!!!!!

Hi Everyone!
Sorry I haven't been posting much! We have been a pretty busy family! We are up at 545am, and out the door by 630 am ( quite a feat considering there are 6 of us getting ready! ) I work from 7am to 4pm, then by the time I pick the kids up from the sitter, it is around 5pm. Then we have to find suitable dinner! LOL and do homework, then I do my exercise, then I collapse in bed! LOL
I have been keeping up with the thread tho, and am very excited about our cruise! I am counting down! A very BIG welcome to all the new cruisers!
Glad everything seems to be going better Rae.
A question for you experienced folks, does it seem like our sailing is going to be full? I am really interested in switching one of our rooms to a cat 6, and changing one down to cat12. I looked on Expedia a few weeks back and it did look like there was one of each cat across the hall from each other on deck 6. Right now we have 2 cat 10s. I remember Ginger saying it was cheaper to upgrade at port from a cat9 rather than a cat 10. SO I inquired about changing both to a cat 9! $157 pp! Geesh............Any ideas?

For your MEET AND GREET at the Promenade lounge: If someone brought a pack of those sticky nametags and a marker pen, then anyone who forgot one from home, could make one there. I was at a meeting Thursday where we used sticky name tags and it helped so much with remembering names.
EMMA: Shall I send the Hobbitina photos again? I think it would be an easy costume to do. And why not go around with the kids. You can help keep an eye on them all.
RAE: Glad to hear you were not hurt during your Lone Ranger parody.
ROCHELE: Will Alissa go trick or treating? If so, Emma won't feel so out of place.
Have a great weekend,

Who says I wasn't hurt?!
Luke gave me 30 days in the round pen for my stunt!!!! Then Jan added 30 more and Gene put on another 30 -----for a total of 90!
Looks like I'm grounded for a long, long time!!!!!

RAE: Were you hurt ?:(
physically ? :(
your pride? :(
Did not mean to make a false assumption. Sorry.
Are Luke, Jan and Gene the instructors?
How will 90 days in the "pen" make a difference for trail rides? (Please pardon the probably stupid question, I know next to nothing about horses.)

Safety is the big issue at the stable. Luke, his wife Jan and Gene are the owners.
I hadn't ridden Red in a very long time - and by putting me back in the round pen (corral), it's for my own benefit and safety. So that Red and I can get used to each other again. So I will ride for 30 days in the corral with him and not out on the trail.
Michael, on the other hand, can ride Red in the corral but not on the trail because of their sizes - he can and does ride Jynx on the trail very successfully, as do I. But Jynx is a smaller, older horse.
Red is a large and very young, strong horse - I'm still inexperienced.
So I wasn't hurt at all - just too dumb to know when I am in trouble and smart enough to know when I need more experience!!!!
But it sure was exciting to be "Ho Ho'ing Silver" for that moment!!!!

Wheew!! (breathing a sigh of relief here) glad you were not hurt!! :)
More experience makes sense if you have not been on the horse much and he is young and headstrong.
( I keep wondering if Emma the horse-lover will go on the Beach ride with Rae and Michael on this cruise, but no one has mentioned it so I won't either.):smooth:

Uuuugh, bad news on the eastern front.
When I got divorced I transferred my ex's half of the reservation to a family friend. She was going to pay the difference and travel with me (since my parents are also going she would have others to hang out with). Now 8 days before the final payment is due she has informed us that she doesn't have the money and can't go. I'm desperately looking for someone to replace her so I can still go.
Know anyone who wants to cruise in steerage with someone they've never met? I promise I'm a fun person!

Hey all I feel like it's been ages since Ive posted.
Happy anniversary Rochelle!
Welcome Wendy and DVClady!:D
All is great here in FL, the kids went back to school today. YEA!!:Pinkbounc
Now I am watching my 4 week old niece full time. I am also feeling much better with the morning sickness thing!
We are trying to decide what excursions to do. I know we are definately doing stingray city, but I am questioning about cozumel. Anyone have any ideas? I was considering Chackanaab (don't know if i spelled that right). Has anyone ever been there?
Did we ever decided when TorT was going to be? Emma, you should go TorT. If I could I would!!!:D Enjoy it while you can. I TorT when we go to MNNSHP. That is the only time I can get away with it!
I just book my room at the radisson, and got the cruise special suite for $129. That is the same room and rate we got last year.
I few pages back someone asked me what I was taking classes for and I don't know if I ever answered so, I am trying to finish my degree in Elementary Ed. I already have my 2 year degree in Early Childhood Education. I figured since I was taking a few years off of work for the baby, I will just take my time and take a few classes here and there until I am done!:p
Well that is all the news I have for now. Have a great day everyone.

Made our final payment for the cruise today. We were orginally waitlisted for the first dining seating, and after making the final payment I noticed we did get first seating. Good for us since that is what we wanted.
Include us on the list of any rooms for trick or treating. We do not have any children with us (well no one under 18 anyway), but always like to make sure the children have something to look forward to in this regard.

I haven't posted in a bit and then I read hubby's message. He had e-mailed me and told me he had made the final payment. We are really getting excited about the upcoming cruise. His post reminded me to start looking for Halloween treats..
Take care,

Hi everyone! It's been a while since I've posted here. Yes, I've been lurking! http://www.wdwinfo.com/sites/family/dozey.gif
Paulmc80, how long ago did you waitlist your dining? We're trying to get 1st dining as well. We've got our fingers (and toes) crossed!
Carolyn, can anyone else in your family go? I'm sending some good wishes your way so you can still go!
We just printed out the shore excursion info. We'll probably make all our final decisions this weekend.
We're getting closer! Can't wait! :bounce:

We were waitlisted for first dining since we made our reservation in May of this year. Not really long. Our reservation used to say Second - wait listed for First, and now it just says First. So, I'm assuming that means we have First dining. Unless its an error, which could always happen.
I'm happy to be on the cruise either way! Just always nice.

Good morning everyone! We had a great day here yesterday. All went well with the kids first day of school. YEA! I also went to the Dr. and we heard the baby's heartbeat!!!!!! That always makes it so real!
I also forgot to tell you, I called Disney last Monday and questioned about FLA RES rates for our cruise date, and they had gone into effect. I was able to upgrade from a cat 11 to a cat 9 and saved $600.00!!! Now I have a window and money for excursions!!YEA:Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc I love to be a FLA RES!!!!!
I think my little niece is waking from her morning nap, so I better go see to her. Talk to you later.

DENA: Congrats on the baby and getting the big kids off to school.
We did Chaukanaab last year on our own. Never did an excursion on our own before.
At Key West we went on Catamaran Sail and Snorkel with the FURY company--booked through DCL. We have done that before with them and enjoyed it every time.
At Grand Cayman we went on the Shipwreck and Snorkel. Enjoyed that. Did early morning excursion, went back to the MAGIC for shower and lunch and then took the tender back to walk around town.
At Cozumel we got a taxi and he took us to Chaukanaab. We paid our fare in, found a nice palm front umbrella and some lounge-things--(no idea what to call them, no legs, so they are not chairs  )--and snorkeled a lot. Bought our own snorleing equipment but they had some there for renting. WE bought lunch there too--good Mexican Salads. We saw some people from the MAGIC but we enjoyed the freedom to do as we pleased. We got near the dolphin adventure and could hear them under water when snorkeling over there, but did not pay to go there. We got a taxi back--a big van that we shared with some other people from the MAGIC. Their fare had been included in their excursion, we paid the driver.
CAROLYN1023: good luck on getting a roommate.

HI everyone. Well, we have a solution to the missing roommate problem. We called Disney and found out the I can just room with my parents (oh fun  ). Not the ideal situation but, it gets me on the cruise. I'll post with a new room number as soon as we find out. Sorry to make you do all that work to the cruise listing Rae.
Quick question. I wanted to participate in the Halloween TOT as a hander-outer. Do we have any idea of about how many children? Ballpark would be great so I can start planning.
As for excursions; definately doing the horseback riding in Cozumel. Not sure what else. I'll be on my own for that excursion so would be interested in knowing if anyone else is planning on it.
Thanks for all the well wished! Can't wait to meet everyone.

OLDEBEKN: Have you called DCL or had a travel agent call? There might be space as it sounds like CAROLYN1023 just canceled one of their rooms and is going to bunk with her folks.
CAROLYN1023: Way to go! Save some money by staying with your folks. They must be great people to want to go on a DCL cruise. Just be sure you determine ahead of time if you are expected to be with them for certain events, or if you will come and go as you please and if they see you, it will be a serendipity. :Pinkbounc Have a great time!

Hi all (I'm being naughty and writing from work!)
I know in the past Ginger has been trying to get a list together of those who wish to participate in a DIS Board ToT session. Basically, we'll all go from room to room of those who wish to participate. While my DD is too young to go from room to room, we'll be glad to greet and pass out treats (so instead of Trick or Treating, we'll be Greet & Treating!) ;)
Dena, congrats on hearing the baby's heartbeat. That was just amazing the first time we heard Katie's. I'll never forget the feeling! Also, hooray on saving the money!
Carolyn1023, so glad you can still come! :Pinkbounc
About 3 weeks ago, my family was biting our nails, wondering if we were still going to be able to go. My MIL has been, well not in the best of health, and had to undergo some surgery. Since that's over, the doctor is pleased with her progress, and doesn't feel that she should have to cancel. Of course, our first concern was her, but we were sort of disappointed talking about maybe cancelling! But, that's all behind us now.
I called the shore excursion desk awhile ago. They said they open up at 8:00am, and that for our Oct 25 sailing, Aug 26 is our big booking day! Can't wait!
Well, really should get back to work!

Hi Everybody!
Just got back from Las Vegas with my DDs and DM. Went on the Friday after the blackout. After getting stuck in Manhattan for 10 hours I wasn't sure if our flight was going to make it. Hats off to JetBlue. We left 4 hours late but I think that they were the only airline flying out of JFK that day. All of the employees were wonderful. Everything except the security checks had to be done manually. The employees were as accomodating as was possible.
This was our first trip to Las Vegas. My brother moved out there almost 2 years ago and just had a baby. We had a nice time visiting with him and his family. Also had a nice time on the Las Vegas strip. We stayed at the Monte Carlo hotel. It was really hot but we did get stuck in a huge thunderstorm on Saturday night. The Strip and the sidewalk looked like a river. We had to take off our shoes to walk back to the hotel. Always an adventure. It's good to get away but sometimes it's great to get back home. Thank goodness we had the power back on when we returned home.
I can't believe that we can start booking our excursions on August 26. We're still not sure what we are going to do. DH is in Central America this week with his hospital. I guess we will have to make a final decision when he returns.
Hope everyone faired well during the blackout. Good night!

Hi everyone:
It's been a long time since the last time I posted. I'm on the halloween cruise with my DH, sort of a 2 honeymoon before our anniversary November the 18th.

Welcome Chary -
We will be having a meet and greet session at Promenade Lounge after the Safety Drill and before the Sail Away Party - please come!
Seems most of us are going to have a costume of some sort! I think even my Mom (74) will be in the spirit of things!!!!!
IF anyone will be staying at the Radisson before the cruise - please make sure you have your reservations made and also call the hotel to get a reservations for the shuttle (verandahman told me that this was important, and I always follow my older twin's advise)
If anyone would like to meet up on Friday night at the Rad - let me know so I can get my act together and update both the list of cruisers, the brunch group and the Rad group!
We are going to KSC on Friday 10/24 - if anyone else is interested.

Good morning Halloween Cruisers.
I have been envious all week. The radio station I listen to when driving to work was broadcasting from the Disney Wonder this week. To make it even worse, they would start the interviews with the CM when I was about 2 min. from work. We can have radios at our desks but I spend 85% of my time on the phone & would not be able to listen to anything other than music.
Welcome Chary!
I hope everyone had a good week. I will try to get back to the thread this weekend but I don't know. Most of the morning tomorrow will be spent at a soccer meeting. I cannot wait to see my 3 yr old & other 3 yr olds playing soccer. We should get a good laugh every Saturday morning for 2 mon. (We will miss the last game-Oct. 25)
Well, off to the treadmill.

P. S. We just received our final confirmation so we will try to make our Radisson reservations this weekend. We have to coordinate with my sister first. :smooth:

Now for my next question. For those of you that have done the Halloween cruise before, how was the weather that week? Any rain? Is hurricane season done for the most part by then? Thanks....

Hi all! We're staying at the airport Hyatt, as our flight doesn't get in until 9:38pm. Too late with the baby to drive out to the coast.
Rochelle, don't be too envious. Our time will get here real soon! Plus, they're on the Wonder (a.k.a. short cruise) and we'll be on a longer one! :Pinkbounc
oldebekn, I've not cruised the end of October, but our 1st Disney Cruise was during the 1st week of October (2000.) The weather was beautiful. Hurricane season officially ends Nov 30, but I think historically, the seas are calmer by the end of Oct. Of course, there are no guarantees!
Rae, is Andy doing an Eastern or Western this week? He's so excited! Is this his 1st Disney cruise? I don't remember.

Rochelle - this happened to us while we were on the Magic!
When we got home, Mom told us that someone in a very close town to ours was talking LIVE from the Magic and interviewing people (guests, CM's and Officers). I asked my local DJ buddy if the station would spring for the cost of a call when I was on my Western and he laughed....and laughed...and laughed. Guess that's a big no!
We are at the Radisson on Thursday and Friday night!

Please forgive us, this is our first Disney cruise. Did someone post that we can start booking excursions on Aug 26th? How would I do that? I've been on DCL's website but I can't pull up any information on our cruise, I think because we booked our cruise through Expedia and we don't have a DCL confirmation number.
I learned my lesson, next time I'll book through DCL or DU!!!
But I'd at least like to take a look at the excursions and start booking. How would I do this?

Wendy, do you have the DCL phone number? They might be able to give you information. There isn't much that your confirmation number would give to you other than date, price and room - all the information about the excursions you can get without that number.

Hi all just back from Ohio, DH didn't win, show or place but we all had one heck of a good time. I gain a few of my lost lbs back, have to really work on getting them off again. Came home to find that our contractor has been working his butt off, as promised we are under roof. Still no doors or windows but we do have a roof. Looking good to have it completed before we go on the cruise.
Give me a few days to get the T-or-T list together and posted. If you have posted to be a T-or-T greeter or if your child(ren) are going to T-or-T please make sure that I have your stateroom number and kids names and ages. Thanks
P.S. It may be best to hold our T-or-T on a SeaDay. I was thinking Thursday, Oct 30, 11-12 a.m. then we could follow that with a group lunch, optional of course.
Hi everyone,
I've been lurking here for ages but not yet posted on this thread. However, I do know all about all of you as I am Rose Greenthumb's (Emma's) Mum.
Ginger, we will definitely hand out for trick or treating. We are in staterooms 7619 and 7621. Not sure which room we will hand out goodies from but from what I remember from T or T last year, I'm sure we will hear you coming and be ready to open the door! Lots of excited laughter; it was great!
Oliver and James are saying that they don't want to T or T but I think Emma probably will join in so can you add her to the list please Ginger.
Did I read that there was going to be a Disboards Palo Brunch on the cruise? If so, when is this planned for? We did this last year and it was great to meet everyone but unfortunately it was the same day as our character breakfast so we felt we didn't really do justice to either! Is there any way to work out what our dining rotation might be ahead of boarding? If so, we could work out the character breakfast day and try to make the brunch.
Rae, thank you for all the encouragement you have given Emma with her writing. She is a little disappointed that there are no other teens posting as last year she made great friends from this. However, I feel as though she will have lots of friends off this thread, regardless of age. Looking forward to meeting you all on the 25th October.

Karen, your daughter is talented and the world needs more writers with talent - too many are just word mongers. Plus her maturity will make her fit in very well with any age group.
So glad you decided to post!
You will have our dear friends Paul and Kaye across the hall from you!!!
Michael is still undecided about dressing up for T and T. Feels he is "too old" for it. At least if I can get him in his pirate costume and walk around.......
We had the character breakfast and Palo brunch the same day...no telling what will happen since we are all on different rotations. We chose to sit with the kids and have coffee during the CB, then go to Palo and "pig out"! Beware the shrimp are huge!
Rae
Rae,
What day and time were being suggested for Palo Brunch? Was someone making a reservation for all using stateroom numbers or would we each have to make our own? Last year I think Ginger kindly made a group reservation and we had the private room in Palo which was lovely.
Thank you for what you said about Emma. I think she is wonderful but I might be a bit biased!

Hi Karen I can't beleive that Oliver and James don't want any candy???
Rae please tell Michael that he will be missing out on alot of fun if he doesn't T-or-T.
I would count on at least 24 children, there are still families who have not replied.
When you put it like that, Ginger, they are coming round to the idea!! Add them to the list please.

Wow I seem to have quite a fan club! As my mum said to me before, I'll have to be careful that my head doesn't get too big to fit through the stateroom door! Hmm maybe that wouldn't be so bad if it meant I couldn't get off the ship on disembarkation day...
Rae, you can tell Michael he can stick with me if he wants, we can be oldies together. It seems a shame for him to miss out on TorTing.

ugh, these boards are just creeping tonight!
Carole88, hooray for you on your early seating! I'm keeping my fingers crossed we get it too!
Ginger, thank so much for posting the T&T list. I have a question. There's just a few cabins giving out candy. Should we expect a large group all at once? Sounds like this will go by very fast. I'll probably have DH take Katie for a stroll or something for awhile.
I just ordered her costume tonight. Yep, she's gonna be a KatieBug (ladybug, so cute!)
Tomorrow's our shore excursion booking day! I'm calling 1st thing in the morning. Hope I'm not too late for work! ;)
Rae, I'm surprised to see you even mentioned the shrimp. Sounded like from your last trip you were kind of getting "shrimped out!" (Yeah, like that could happen! )
Evening everyone!

OK - I'm back - Haven't posted much 'cause I told myself I would wait until the 60 day mark - But some good news - We are bringing our older 16 year old daughter now - Wasn't sure if it was going to work out with her school - but we have made it work - So if any of you have a 16 year old girl that would like to email each other before the cruise, let me know (pm me) and we could get it set up -
So since she is coming, our stateroom number will change (we are now 4, not 3) so when we make final payment tomorrow, Ginger I will let you know what it is -
We will be giving out candy - that is for sure -
Take Care all,
karen
Wow, Kaitlinsmom, Emma will be so pleased that your 16 year old is coming along. She has been longing for someone her own age to get in touch with before the cruise. She is 15.
She is still asleep and I can't wait for her to wake up so I can tell her. I have no idea how to pm anyone- I've only just worked out how to post after lurking for months - but Emma will know and I'm sure she'll be in touch. I think there was some talk a while ago about us linking our dinner reservations - we are on late seating. If you would still like to do this, let us know and we can sort this out. Or at least I'll find a man who can *** I don't know how to do that either.
I'd better get on as I should be working (just started a new job and work from home) and I'm spending far too long on these boards.

I just pm'd you and hopefully your daughter will show you how to pick it up (when she wakes up of course)
We have late seating as well - We might have to wait until we get on board to see about getting a table together -
My daughter has been going to England since she was two, so our daughters will have a lot in common. My husband is from Liverpool -
These boards are very addicting - Once you get started, you can't stop!
Look forward to meeting you and your family!

BUM?! Hey, I "resemble" that remark! And I didn't need to ask you what it meant either, now did I?! Yup, getting the hang of this British English - now if I could only speak decent American English - we will have it made!!!!!
I'll let Michael know that he can hang with you during TorT time - he is still resistant about a costume.....go figure. The only one he really got excited over was the horse one.....but considering he wants me to be the REAR end..........
Shrimp....well, it's been 16 days since I had any and am just now able to start thinking HARD about it........stuff around here isn't as good as the ones on the ship....guess I'll just have to wait....
Did you know that mares go through PMS? Yes, that's right! PMS!
And if our mare Jynx doesn't have PMS then she's pregnant - either way....I've decided that I'll keep her around for a while since she is a good ride for Michael. She's no "Red Raptor" that's for sure.....my bum will testify to that!

Hi all!
I booked our excursions this morning too. Had a hard time, kept getting the run around. I called at 8:05 am, and stayed on hold for about 6-7 minutes. Finally got through, only to be told that DVC has to book them. So, went to work and called DVC a bit after 9am. They told me, nope they don't do it, has to be done by DCL. Of course, I protested a bit, just knowing that all my excursions were selling out. The DVC rep called DCL, and transferred me. Got it all taken care of at that point. Sort of a frustrating start though. And we got all the times we wanted, yah!

Hi Tina sorry I missed your post. We would love it if your DH strolled Katie around with us. I know that there is going to be a special treat for her from our stateroom. Now to answer your question, Yes we will be coming in one group. In the past the door to door has taken about 45 minutes from start to finish.
BUM!!!! So Emma I've been wondering where my Ashley learned that term. I laugh everytime I hear her say she hurt her BUM.
Karens you can link your ressies now and dine every night together. Just exchange reservation numbers and have your TA's or who every booked your cruise. call DCL to link your ressies together.
Rae I had a great big shrimp salad sandwich for lunch today, YUMMY. No it wasn't on my diet but I skipped dinner cause it was so big and late in the afternoon when I had it. Have you ever had seafood from Maryland it's sooooo much better than those shrimp on the ship. To us they are just boiled with no seasoning on them. We steam ours with beer, onions, celery and Old Bay Seasoning.

Key West- Conch Republic Tour and Museum Package
Grand Cayman- Rum Point Beach Adventure
Cozumel- Cozumel Beach Break
We booked them based on having a 2 year old with us. No stingrays for us :( My hubby really wanted to do the ruins, I guess we will have to wait until my son is older. My daughter (6) however would of loved the stingrays. She is really big into Nemo and would be like mom there are a lot of Mr. Ray's around here.

Oh yeah!
My "brother" Jack Frost was born in Baltimore and except for his USAF stint, he's always lived there! He's taken us to soooo many places - crab cakes are the best! I've even had fresh steamed crab and had to crack them open! Just had a ball with it!
I do like Maryland very much and it definitely would be on my list of where I'd rather live than Indiana - but then again....so would a lot of places!
TO ALL: Yes, I have been delinquent in updating our list - seems like it's grown a lot and then I accidentally deleted a few. Please bear with me on this!!!!
Also, Michael wants to do the Cavern tour while we are in Cozumel - has anyone done that or is interested? It's over at Playa and is a very long day since we have to travel 45 minutes by boat to the mainland of Mexico. Let me know.

I booked my excursion yesterday too!:p I called at exactly 8:00 and got right through. The only one we are definately doing is stingray city at 1:00pm. Both my DS are going on this excursion, but not my DD, she went last Oct and did not like it. I am not sure what we are going to do in Cozumel yet, last year we did Xcaret, which had underwater caverns. We LOVED it, but I decided being pregnant, I do not want to be 2 hours away from the ship, in case I don't feel well. Plus, that is an 8 hour excursion. I will be better sticking to shorter excursions this year:D
Ginger: Did I give you my new stateroom #? It's 2110. I can't remember anything these days, this baby is taking my brains!!!:p

Hi All-
2110 is a great location, nice and quiet. We were in 2108 last year and loved it. This year we are in 2102 and connecting 2104. Can't wait, made the final payment and am helping my Mom who uses a wheelchair/scooter decide on her excursions. I just did a 7 day cruise to the western carribean in July so I think the boys and I are doing it on our own, trolley in Key West, 7 mile beach in GC and Chakanab in Cozumel.
Just for info, I just got back Sunday night from a 3 day Royal Carribean Sovereign of the Seas cruise with my best friend. It was our Mommy's only cruise. The 3 day Wonder haunted us the whole time :( It left behind us on Thursday, we were docked next to it all day on Friday and then it followed us home Saturday and we were docked close by it again on Sunday morning. My BF kept making comments about how I was DCL crazy ect. BUT by Sunday she had decided to book a Disney cruise for her family next May ;)
I tell you I have experienced 2 other cruiselines in 4 weeks and NO one does it like DCL.
Question, I was thinking about dressing my boys (2 and 5 ) up like Captain Hook and Peter Pan, if you go to Disneystore.com you can view the costumes and accessories. The Peter Pan has a "dagger" that you can purchase to complement the costume and the C.Hook a sword. Someone take a look, do you think it will be a problem with security?
I don't want to pack pumpkins for TOT so I thought those Halloween bags they sale would be good for our trick and treat occasion? I do have collaspable (?sp?) pumpkins but they are in the storage while our new house is being built, what are you all taking? How much candy should I bring to hand out???
Rae-how was your cruise? I wish I could go to Playa with you. I went for a week last year and it is one of my favorite places in the world but my 2 year could NOT tolerate a long day. Off to get my oldest from Kindergarten, he started yesterday :)
Hugs to all.

I was going to tell you I stayed at the Hyatt at MCO airport last Wednesday night and loved it!!! It was clean. Our room was 8031 which faces the side of the airport and we had NO airport noise. I saw the DCL Reps meeting everyone at the hotel but since my BF and I were cruising on RCCL we used Your ride and Thom was great!!!

Tiff last year we rented an electric car while visiting Key West it was a great way to see things. They have 4 seaters.
GC we rented a jeep loads of fun and we got to see the whole island.
We used a cab to go to Mr. Sancho's while at Coz. It was a great place very laid back no crowds with a small village for shopping.

Well I love that area of the ship it is so quiet. Tell you Mom and Sister that my parents and my MIL and I promise to be quiet but my 2 and 5 year old sons won't commit to being quiet (lol) But we are good cabin mates and will be quiet. We rarely on in our cabin!
Now let me tell you about the jerk that was in the cabin next to us on the Sovereign of the Seas last weekend. Here my best friend and I went to sleep  since we both have 2 sons under 5 and this guy next door all 3 nights kept us up until 4:00 am yelling and hooting and hollering about how proud he was of himself not to get a DWI on the ship like he does at home since he could walk to his cabin  I was sooooooooo furious that we got up extra early after 3 hours sleep pointed the hair dryer at the wall, "fell" into the closet etc. I finally had to call security on him the last night............it was really bad!
Anyhoo, none of that from us. We will be happy and we will be on DISNEY :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

It was awful and even RCCL was pretty tough on him by following through with security etc. Our tablemates who were 2 darling sisters said they had a old couple next to them and they just had to turn on their TV to the same station as the old couple and mute it bc they could hear the words through the wall :p
Since the SOS is an older ship maybe it does not have the sound proofing the newer ships do??? Other than that and one problem with the Purser Desk is was a nice cruise we just came home more tired than we left and those of you with kids no what I mean!
Has anyone done or seen the trolley in Key West?
I did the stingray city with in July with Nativeway and as I told you all it kinda of weirded me out. I thought I would be braver but those dang things climbed me like a cat in heat  I think in GC I will catch one of those vans to 7 mile beach and let the boys have a beach day. Has anyone done that? Are there restrooms, drinks, chairs etc?

Tiff,
Glad you had a mommies only cruise! Even though the dummy ruined it . Question, am I the ony one who did not receive excursion info from DCL? I did booked through Captain Brayns in Grand Cayman for the Sting ray tour. Has anyone used them before? I am faxing my request into to Dolphin Discovery tommorrow, for the swim in Cozumel. But I am undecided about the rest of our time :-)

I have heard very good things about them here on the DIS Boards and on Cruise Critic.com. I used Nativeway Water sports and was VERY happy! There were only about 15 of us. Nice boat, free water and punch. Three nice tour guides, took great care of us and even moved us one time when a HUGE cruise group came to close. They only charge $25 per adult, I think under 6 or 7 free and you can also pay $10 for adults who want to ride and not get in the water. We went to 2 sites, the stingray city and then to a reef. I actually made a reservation for myself, my 5 year and my sister and her Partner for our October cruise but I am being honest in that it was weird AKA kinda scary but beautiful and neat at the same time. My 5 year old DS LOVES marine life and even if he did not get in it is an experience of a lifetime. I was also thinking my MIL and 2 year old could just ride an "see" the rays. I don't know yet. After we tendered in I saw the taxi's/vans with signs saying $3.00 to 7 mile beach and some of our table mates went and said it was wonderful.................I think the dolphin discovery is great and your kids will LOVE it. How is the baby?

Key West: Sunset Sail- Western Union Schooner, we've been to Key West before so we'll wander about, do some shopping and have dinner before the sail at our favorite Cuban restaurant (gotta get a Mojito!)
Grand Cayman: Atlantis Submarine 9:20, Shipwreck and Reef Snorkel 1:40
Cozumel: Fury Catamaran Sail, Snorkel, and Beach Party

Next thing to figure out is the excursions. I can't get a straight answer from anyone in my group so I'm just booking for me.

Hi everybody,
We finally decided on some excursions. At Grand Cayman we are going to do the 1:00 Stingray City Snorkel Tour and at Cozumel we are going to do the Fury Catamaran Sail, Snorkel & Beach Party.
My kids are so excited to be going on the cruise that they want to have a little bedtime talk each night about the many wonderful things that we will be doing on our cruise. I love the alone time that we get with each other. I am very grateful for these boards for giving me so much information to share with them!

Tiff, are the swords & daggers plastic? I don't think they would have much problems if it's just plastic. And thanks for the info on the Hyatt. We're looking forward to staying there.
Everyone, we need your thoughts & prayers. My MIL was just diagnosed with breast cancer. While the doctors are assuring her they've caught it in a very early state, it's still a very scary time. Hello everyone:
I have not been on this board for so long. Boy have I missed alot! You are such a fun and helpful group. I am looking forward to meeting as many of you as possible on the cruise.
We (my husband, Daughter (8) and Son (4) and I) have not scheduled any excursions yet. I appreciate all the posts the rest of you are sharing regading what you have chosen and what you recommend.
I am leaning toward no excursions at all. Especially since my son is so young and I am having trouble finding excursions suitable for his age. What do you think? Will I regret this decision?
I plan on reading up on these boards to see what people in the past have done on their own at each port and try to plan our outings that way. Has anyone run across a specific thread they can point me too that will be helpful in planning our own excursions?
Rae: Welcome back! Thanks for sharing all your experiences with us. Thanks, also, for posting about the mini golf in Cozumel. I think that is what we will do. Can a 4 year old handle the course or is it too tough? The horseback riding sounds awesome. Is this something a family can do or is it for more experienced riders.
Back to reading for awhile...........have a great day everyone!

I feel the same about the excursions with my 2 and 5 year old DS's. I just went on a 7 day western on Carnival with my DH before he deployed and with all of our excursions I felt I was on a triathelon (?sp?)..........this time we are taking it easy with 7 mile beach, Chakanab and Key West trolley.
I am trying to book things for my Mom, Dad and MIL since my DM is disabled and none are "beach" people

We aren't booking anything either. When we first started cruising our DD was young only 3 we couldn't take her on the DCL excursions so we learned to go it alone. We really like it better we can see what we want and come and go as we please not having to wait for a group or to board stuffy buses.
We are going to rent an electric car while at Key West. Cruise around for a while see the site we want to see grab a bit to eat and a frozen Keylime Pie on a Stick for dessert. Later we want to see the Cat Show at Mallory Square and watch the sunset.
We'll rent a jeep while at GC to cruise over to Rum Point Beach stopping to see a few sites before we get there. Play on the beach for awhile have a good lunch there and one of their great frozen drinks. Ashley wants to go to the factory where they make the Tortuga Rum Cakes, she loves them.
Cozumel it's a cab ride to Mr. Sancho's again to play on the beach and snorkeling. We'll get a YUMMY lunch there with a bucket of beers. As we are leaving I'll do a little shopping at their small open air shops.
On Castaway we'll play in the sand if Ashley decides she's going to join us. Go snorkeling have a drink, eat, maybe take a walk around the island if a storm does come along. So far it's happened to us twice. On one cruise we never made it to the pier, to windy to dock the ship.
So there's our week, already goin, went by fast didn't it.

GINGER: I guess you keep missing my message, our stateroom has changed, we are now 2110.
TIFF: 1. If you want to be sure about the sword and daggers, email the DCL web site and ask them. They are pretty good about responding to questions.
2. We have never taken a cab to Chakanab, but are considering doing it this year.
3.. Last year we did the Island tour and stingray city excursion through DCL. We enjoyed it! You get to hold turtles at the turtle farm!:p
4. Last year for TorT I bought little goodies from oriental trading and put those along with some candy in goodie bags. I just ordered my goodies yesterday. Thank goodness i bought things that came in units of 4 dozen, because I have counted 26 kids so far. I ordered 5 different little goodies. I can't wait to make up the bags!:p
Thats all the questions I can help you with.
EMMA: I got The Two Towers today! Cant wait to watch it this weekend!!!!!:Pinkbounc Also Read the book this summer, it had a very interesting ending, which I assume will be the beginning of the Return of the King.

Poohbush - Our thoughts and prayers are with your MIL and your family. My MIL had a scare a few years ago and we know how frightening and stressful it is for the entire family.
Sistert - I know exactly what you mean about booking the excursions. We are all so excited I think we may bust!
Ginger - Thank you for organizing the TorT. It looks like there will be a great group of kids. Thanks again!

Rose: Thanks for the shrimp trivia. I never knew that about shrimp. It's amazing what one can learn on this board!
Tina: You can count on my prayers for your MIL and your whole family. I am so glad she is able to keep her plans for the cruise.
Kaitlin's mom, Buzz and Woody's mom & Ginger: Thanks for lettting me know we aren't the only ones not booking excursions. I appreciate learning what you are planning to do at each port on your own. I'd love to hear more about 7 mile beach, Chakanab and Mr. Sanchos.
Dena: Great idea using Oriental Trading Co stuff for T&T. I better go dig my catalog back out of the garbage - LOL!
I really appreciate the countdown thingies some of you have on your posts. I am not very computer literate and it would take me way too long to figure out how to do that so I am enjoying yours.

Zitofamily-
I am a TYPE A all of the way :) I will find out everything I can about the ports and post what I find out. I almost have it narrowed down for me but am trying to help my Dad find things for my Mom and him to do that will be ok for her.
The boys and I and probably my MIL and Sister and her partner
Key West-trolley or train and shipwreck historeaum (I think my Mom can do this one if we can fold up her wheelchair and take it with us, I am trying so hard to find out)
Grand Cayman-Either 7 Mile beach and some shopping or Nativeway Watersports, I will get eaten again  by the Rays and my MIL and 2 year can watch and 5 year can freak out. Probably the 7 mile beach is the best.
Ginger suggested renting a car for my Mom and Dad so my Dad can drive my Mom around the island and the wheelchair can go with. Great idea Ginger and thank you! Now I just have to come up with things for them to drive by
Cozumel-Been to Playa Sol so I really think Chakanab is the way to go this time. Taxi right from the pier to the park, $10 per adult, dolphins to see and a sea lion show and children are fee. I have snorkeled from a boat off of the park many time and it is awesome but with the boys they are 2 and 5 and change their minds like the moon.........
Not sure about Mom but maybe they can rent another Jeep and drive around or just go with us to Chakanab and take a taxi back when my Mom tires.
Anyhoo the 7 day Carnival I went on last month was like a bloody "amazing race" show. Everyday my DH and I had something hard and involving water planned. I came back and was more tired than when I went :p

Tiff - The cavern tour is the one that goes over to the Mexico - mainland - it's in the Disney Cruise Brochure.
The mini golf course is challenging but worth it - hey, if an 8 year old kid can get a hole in one and beat his parents at this....well, it's still a great time.
I put trip reports on the Cruise Line Trip Report thread - starting with Embarkation and ending with "Heck No I Won't Go". Check them out for more information - they are probably archived by now.
The horses would be fine for your family - just send Nicki a note and ask her. She will match the rider's ability to the horse very well. Her horses are beautiful, healthy and gentle - and she's wonderful!
I'm back on Red and Michael is back on Jynx now - been so very hot. Heat index yesterday here was 106. Glad we left at 1PM.
Michael is doing great with the new homeschool program we are using this year (Seton Catholic Home School) - it's challenging and rewarding for him and easy for me to work with. A win-win situation.
He is also vastly improving by leaps and bounds with his piano studies. Thanks to Fidelio's encouragement and example. I am sure going to miss Dueling Pianos when we get there in October.
Eight weeks to go. That's 56 days - approximately1344 hours, 80640 minutes.
Rae
Wow, Rae! I'm impressed with your countdown. I thought I had it bad (when I got back last year I kept asking everyone at work if they knew it was only 52 weeks till I would be cruising again but even I hadn't got it down to minutes! Not long now though; we are all so excited that I don't knwo if we can wait even one more minute but I suppose we'll have to.
Can you tell me more about the horse riding please, Rae. We are thinking of hiring a car at Grand Cayman and going to Rum Point Beach but I know Emma would love to ride and I wondered what time it happened, where it was, how long it lasted etc. The only problem is that I would be having to go with her and though I ahve ridden in the past, I am actually scared of horses. Not sure that that makes me the ideal choice for this excursion, somehow.

RAE: Great countdown! Any my DH thinks I am a fanatic?! Thats great that you are homeschooling Michael. I wanted to do that with my daughter, but I would never hear the end of it from my son and with him being ADHD there is NO WAY I would be able to home school him!!

Karen,
I'll be waiting to hear more about the horseback riiding with Nikki as well. I had planned on doing the Disney excursion but, if Rae says that Nikki is good - I'll take her word for it. If you don't want to go, I would be glad to take Emma with me. I believe my younger sister is coming as well (so it would be me; Carolyn (27) and my sister Kristen (19) ). I'm going to look around for info today.

Hi, Thanks everyone for your good thoughts! My MIL has her 1st consultations next week, so hopefully she can found out answers to her many questions.
Tiff, We're going to do the Trolley w/ Shipwreck Museum too. We're going to do the Trolley instead of Train, as you can get off if you need too. I figured with the baby, we might want that option! :)
Dena, Hooray for your 1st day with no naseau. Was it bad? I have a girlfriend who was so ill sometimes she couldn't go to work. Then there's me, I really only felt a tad bit queasy one day. That was it! (I probably just jinxed myself for the next one!)

Here's my report on Grand Cayman - I did one for everyday, so if you look in the archives for trip reports, you will find the others.
Like I said, Michael wants to do the caverns, so we won't be riding this time. It was wonderful and I highly recommend it - be sure to let Nicki know your experience and she will match you accordingly. Michael and I were able to trot and canter along the beach, but other riders may not be at that experience or comfort level.
Dena - I think I have your nausea - and no, I definitely am not pregnant! That's okay with me - you have enough to handle right now!!!
Tina - for 2/3 pregnancies that I had, I felt AWFUL - so sick I could hardly get up off the floor (the bed was even intolerable to me!). The only pregnancy I was able to maintain was also my last - it started with NO nausea at all and ended with a premature birth (Christopher was 38 weeks in gestation and 2 lbs 13 1/2 ounces, 15 inches long) - now at 23, he is normal sized, intelligent (Deans List at IUPUI) and has never had any effects from prematurity.
For years I have fought against medication for ADD for Michael. I wish now that I hadn't. As he explained to our doctor, he felt awful inside and went on to explain exactly how he felt - Dr. prescribed concerta. The difference in Michael is amazing AND he says he feels so much better. His attention, concentration and irritability level is more in line with non ADD children - and it's made a world of difference in his entire attitude and ability.
This may not be your answer, but don't be as stupid and inflexible as I was in not considering it.
Karen - you should see the countdowns I have made up!!! Honestly, you do not need to worry IF your concern is about Nicki - she's really okay!!! But if it's something else, then I understand. Nicki offered to let my non-riding husband come with us and wait at the beach - a short distance from her stable. He would have been able to sunbathe, walk, swim or snorkel. I am pretty sure she would make the same consideration to you AND possibly drop you and Emma off at Rum Point to join your sons and husband. Nicki does pick up and drop off at Hard Rock Cafe.
Riding on the beach was ALWAYS a dream of mine - I had a great horse "Buster" and Michael enjoyed his horse "Sergeant".
Give it some thought and do book early with her.

For Nicki -
use your credit card to book
(she's safe - I know because last year our cruise was diverted due to the hurricane and it wasn't charged)
- you e-mail her (look at the website I provided in the past reply I posted) through her website and she will reply.
It's $60.00 and very well worth it - the beach is beautiful and the time spent there is approximately an hour and a half.
She made a stop at a gas station where I was able to purchase reasonably priced water - a convenience store. She also made a side trip for us to visit her friend Marlin. She will drop you off where you want (just ask ahead of time) and you will thoroughly enjoy her!

By the way, it was Buckaroo's Dad who went there and wrote a great report on her. He and Little Buck had a wonderful time. Knowing BD, if it wasn't - he would have definitely said so but with a glowing report, I knew it would be terrific!
So that comes from two of us!!
I did see the other stables and their horses. As a horse owner, I do not claim to be an expert but again, in MY opinion, seeing their stables and horses only reinforces my recommendation about using Nicki.

No Fidelio on our Oct cruise?????? Say it isn't so! You have gotten me so interested in seeing him with all your posts about how wonderful he is. I had his show on our "must do" list.
Tina and Tiff:
Where do you catch the trolley in Key West and how much does it cost. Sounds like a fun way to get around, especially if you can get on and off.
Dena: I can relate to the nausea. Had it bad with both my babies. I was so happy when it finally stopped.
Have a great holiday weekend everyone!

Wow ! You all have been busy bees today! :D
Rae, I am glad that Michael is feeling better on concerta! Don't make yourself feel too bad about it. You were only doing what you felt right at the time. There is a great quote out there by Maya Angelou that basically says the same thing! But I would just mess it up trying to paraphrase it!
Zito, I do believe that Fidelio will not be on our Oct cruise, but I am sure Rae can verify that for sure, her being an official fan club memeber and all ;)
Karen, dont feel too bad I am also terrified of horses! I have been on one 3 times in my 28 years, and all 3 times I have been "bucked" off....(shiver)......
Well I booked our StingRay City excursion through Captain Bryans, and closed my eyes and sent my credit card number to Dolphin Discovery for the Swim! LOL Did you know that they offer the encounter for like $73, but on Weds, when we are in port, we have to go through our cruise line to participate and then the price rises to $105??? I think that is cheating! LOL Has anyone ever done the swim before? How was your experience?
Thats is all we have planned for GC and Cozumel. I am not real sure what to do in Key West. Can someone explain the trolley or train to me?
Getting excited!

Yes, Amanda - you can teach an "old dog" some "new tricks"!!! Even a 48 year old RN is a trainable monkey!!!!! ; )
Sorry to say that as far as we (the Official Fidelio Fan Club), have not heard anything to dispute the Disney decision to either keep Dueling Pianos or put Fidelio elsewhere on either ship.
There were a lot of "suits" on our cruise and believe me, I made my opinion, as representative of the Fan Club, known to everyone I could corner.
Whereever Fidelio goes, he will always be an inspiration to young musicians AND entertainment to all who are in his audience. Can you tell Michael and I are missing him already?! For that matter, so is my Mom and my dear husband!!!!!!
ALL LOYAL FIDELIO FANS!
So, who is going to be in the Talent Show?
That is, IF Disney hasn't cancelled that - the Dueling Pianists were the ones who did all the rehearsal and show work for it - with them gone, who knows what will happen.
Anyway, I am encouraging my little Beethovan to play something again and Emma and I already had dialogue about either an individual or group song.
Let's hear the interest level out there! Since it's not a contest, just a talent show.....it is a lot of fun and there is plenty of encouragement and appreciation from the audience - so don't be shy - get in on it!!!
Okay, now who's interested?

rae519
08-30-2003, 12:17 AM
Regardless of the weather - I'll be on the Magic and you know, it don't matter a gnat to me!!!!
Many people are concerned about the effect hurricanes will have on their cruise. Speaking from experience here (September 25 - Hurricane Lili) - we were diverted from our Western itinerary to have two days at CC, one day in San Juan and one day in St. Thomas. Seas smooth as glass and skies as blue as the water we were sailing on!!!
Lots of fun and memories made with that group of cruisers!!!
So if we do get a "Magic-al Mystery Cruise" due to the weather - we could end up having the best time ever!!!
Rae
Thanks Carolyn and Karen for offering to take Emma riding. I know she would like to go so especially if Marissa is also riding so we'll see what we can arrange. Is it likely that you guys will all end up riding together? Let me know if you are booking and I can book her in as well. The only thing is that she may then end up being with you for some of the rest of the day. Would that be okay?
Rae, a magical mystery cruise sounds fine to me. As long as I m on the cruise, I'll be happy wherever I am.

Is Emma dressing up for Halloween?
Karen,
No problem with the girls hanging out together or with you or us either. Should mean everyone has a blast!
Emma is planning to dress up for Halloween - probably as Rose Greenthumb her hobbit name which should test my non-existent making skills.
Jan, if you're out there can you let me know what thoughts you had for the costume as Emma hasn't let me into the secret yet and time is running out.
It looks as if between Carolyn and Karen, Emma will get her wish to ride at Grand Cayman. thank you both.

The weather was warm last year mid-upper 80's to mid 90's never over 100. The warm temps were very nice still warm. It did rain on us at any port. We where called out of the water at CC a storm was brewing so most people headed back to the ship just a little early. We still had a great day on the beach.

Read Review of Rum Point, Grand Cayman
Make it a "pointe" to visit!
Jun 23 '03
Pros
Far away from the majority of the beach crowd
Cons
Can be a little too far for some to travel
The Bottom Line
Overall, Rum Pointe is always a highlight of my trip to Grand Cayman, it's a nice escape from the crowds of Georgetown and 7-Mile Beach, and should not be missed!
Full Review
My family has been travelling to the Cayman Islands for 16 years now, and it's still just as much fun as the first time. Actually, it gets better each time, because we seem to discover some new gem that we'd missed previously. Lucky for us, Rum Pointe has been on the agenda since our first visit!
Rum Pointe is located far away from crowded 7 Mile Beach, and the 40 minute trip provides many photo opportunities and little historical markers along the way, and is a great family destination of you're looking for a nice day-trip away from your hotel or condo. Once you get there, the only thing you need to worry about is relaxing. The water is just as crystal clear here as it is on 7-Mile Beach, but a little more scenic for those with their snorkeling gear handy.
There is a large dock that shuttles travelers over from the Hyatt Hotel, which hasn't always been there, and is just about the only con I can think of, from the point of view of someone who remembers when it was a little more "primitive". On the left side of the dock there's open swimming that goes on until you get to the reef that is very far out from shore, and separates the calm waters from the choppier open waters. This side of the dock is a wonderful place to take a raft and float along enjoying the scenery. Expect little fish to come over and check you out, and perhaps take a nibble on your leg. Not to worry though, it feels like a fluttery tickle, and is not a bite!
On the right side of the dock there's a barrier wall of coral that isn't too big to swim over, and it provides shelter to scores of beautiful fish. Clown fish are a favorite, and they aren't afraid to come over and take a look at you. On several occasions, we've taken cans of aerosol cheese into the water and sprayed the cheese underwater for the fish. The fish came flocking in what can only be described as a multi colored cloud of fish. They ate the cheese and swam right up to us to get it, which felt really neat on our skin.
The sandy beach area is a little limited, but it's not bad, and the picnic area leading up to it is very generous and shady. You can pack a cooler and bring your own lunch, or enjoy a fantastic burger from the snack bar at one of the many picnic tables. Don't be surprised if a hungry bird lands on your table looking for a handout. There's a full bar on site, which is a nice place to get some shade and maybe get the salt water taste from your lips. There are semi-private showers located in the rest rooms, so your ride home won't involve sand sticking to your car's interior. There is also a more upscale dining facility on site, but I believe that it's only open in the evening, and not for lunch. And let's not forget the extensive amount of souvenirs available in the gift shop. Whether you're looking for a T-shirt or a trinket, or you've forgotten your film and sunscreen, the gift shop has you covered. The prices are pretty much on par with the rest of the island's gift shops, which means that it can be a little pricey, but you can find some really fantastic keepsakes of your trip.
Hyatt Regency Canal the schedule, from a Cayman Isalnds website, is as follows: not sure if this is current I have emailed the Hyatt for any updates to this schedule.

Yes Karen the T-or-T will be on a day at sea, Thursday. Halloween is on Friday our day on CC there just wouldn't be enough time to do it. I am wondering how DCL is going to do it with it on Friday. Hopefully they will celebrate it also on Thursday. Otherwise they will have alot of people still unpacked on Saturday morning. Oh!!! but wait Thursday is a formal night???? Should be interesting to see the schedule of event for our week onboarded the Magical Magic.
YAHOO!!!!! Updates on our home improvement project Today subject is the kitchen. We're getting doors today and the staircase to go upstair. I'm going to pick out lights. I placed the order for my kitchen cabinets Friday. I'm ordering the countertop for my island this week. Going with Silestone-Stellar Rose. We have choosen BlacK-Star Granite from Wilsonart Lamiante for the rest of the countertops. All stainless steel appliances. Bamboo in the natural shade for the flooring with a half moon entrance area done in stone still undecided on that.
Well you all have a good day and I'll see you all in a few. Off to the gym for me.
Ginger,
The kitchen sounds wonderful! Good for you going to the gym. i went for a swim today as I'm determined to shift a few more pounds before we cruise but I'm absolutely shattered now. I don't think ot does you any good keeping fit, it wears you out. lol.

Hi all,
dose one need to ( or can one ) reserve lounge chairs around the faimly pool? And if you can how much dose it cost and when and were do you do this? T & T sounds like a great idea- I will ask my twin boys if they are interested ( they are 11 and it is hard to tell what they think yhey are to old for. But if it has to do with candy they will most likly be interested.) Thanks for all the help.

No sign of cruise tickets yet. I know I usually get them 4-6 weeks before the cruise. Anyone get lucky and get an upgrade yet? The ship isn't sold out yet. So maybe just maybe someone will get an upgrade. I got an upgrade once last year on the 3 day cruise. We were also the Magical Family one cruise.
So this will be our 7th Disney Cruise. First time on the Magic. First time we cruised with Disney we took home one of those "little Souveniers". Sorry for the spelling. Ryan being 2 years old now has been on 5 disney wonder cruises. He is well known in the Flounder's Reef Nursery on the Wonder. LOL. My daughter Leena's first cruise was when she was 3. She loves OEC. We hardly see her once the OEC opens. She can't wait to go to Goofy's Giggle Gala. That is something that The Disney Wonder doesn't have. We all can't wait to finally go on a 7 day Disney Cruise after so many 3 and 4 day cruises. Yippee!!:Pinkbounc :bounce:
Hi there Nadtwins. My dtwins aged 13 have decided to T or T. The lure of all that sugar got them in the end. Not sure how much of a costume they will want to wear though. It could be a reprise of last year's I think, which was simply halloween twins handcuffed together (toy tubber handcuffs from MGM in case anyone thinks I lock them up on a regular basis).
The question of reserving loungers round the pools is one that causes much debate on these boards. You don't need to pay for loungers and though people do "reserve" them by leaving towels on them, this is only okay if you are actually around and using the pool. Common sense really but some people do leave towels on them from early morning in the hope that "their" chair will still be there when they decide to use the pool much later in the day. The CMs we have seen seem pretty good at removing towels from chairs where there has been no obvious activity for a while and I and many other Dis'ers would have few qualms about moving them myself. (As long as I was sure the lounger really was unoccupied of course - don't want to start a fight!).
Look forward to meeting you on our cruise. Not long now!

DVCLady - What does it mean that you were the Magical Family on on cruise?
DVCLady
09-03-2003, 01:21 PM
Hi Carole,
A Magical Family is picked randomly on every cruise. We happen to be the lucky ones. Every night in our stateroom we received gifts and goodies. We also received an invitation for the conceirge reception. Its like the Castaway Club reception only all the people are conceirge. During this time we got to meet the Officers and the Captain. Some of the gifts we got were 2 baloos, an autographed picture of the characters. A certificate that says we were the Magical Family for voyage whatever it was I forget. We also got chocolates, and stuff like that delivered at night. Every time we received something we got a note from guest services. And guest services would leave a message on our phone every day asking us if we needed anything. We didn't know we were the Magical Family until we got to our stateroom.
It would of been great if they made us the Magical Family before we boarded so that we could of did the count down and walked on with the conceirge people. Maybe they changed it and they do it now I don't know. The thing that's weird though was the Magical Family is only known to Guest Services. If you tell people(Officers, crew members, servers) you are the Magical Family they will ask you what is that. Nobody knew anything about it. One of the officers even asked us does that mean you get an upgrade? No upgrade, lol. That might of changed though from last year.

We we did the 3 day in January we were the Room Service magical family. Everyday there were treats and a card in our room. It was soooo nice and I felt sooooo special. Too bad it was only for 3 days.:(
GINGER: My sisters MIL Debbie wants to hand out treats for our TorT. I think they are stateroom 2050, but I am not for certain, I will find out today.I got my goodies from oriental trading last night. I love them!!! and can't wait to put my goodie bags together!
We are heading out to Disney and Sea World this weekend. We are going to Night of Joy on Friday, Sea World on Sat. and back to Dis on Sunday. I also just booked a room at BW for Oct. 3rd to do MNNSHP. I wasn't sure if we were going to go this year with so much going on, but we have not missed it in the past 7 years, and I just couldn't give it up this year.;)

DVCLady, I just saw a thread where a few people on the 10/11 cruise just received their documents. Hopefully that means we'll start getting ours in a few weeks.
Ginger, sounds like quite a remodeling project you've got going! Good for you! I know sometimes it can be frustrating (like the waiting!) but picking out colors and patterns sounds like fun! Bring some "before & after" photos, I'd love to see them!

I had to edit my post because I couldn't get the April 17th 7-day cruise on pts :( booooo hooooo! sniff, sniff
I ended up getting a 4-day for the 18th of April (yay!)
DVC lady, what date is your birthday? DH and I are celebrating our 22nd wedding anniversary on the cruise on the 31st. Before anyone asks, there is no truth in the rumour that I arrived at the church on my broomstick.

Hi All-
Someone change my cabin from 2104 to 5018. I upgraded to a Category to be closer to my Mom who is in a Category 8 on deck 6. I will be handing on treats so use 5018 for the list. It is right by the kids clubs :) I will check with my Mom and sister to see if they are handing out or taking my little guys around.
How many kids do we have now. I want to start putting my bags together. I purchased great Halloween pencils over the weekend and collapsible pumpkins for the boys to use for our TOT.
Do I need to make a sign for my cabin door? Will someone send a final list before we go and the time and meeting place again so we can all print it out. I think it was 11am on the 30th
Will DCL have anything on the 31st the day we are at Castaway Cay? Can the kids wear their costumes to dinner?
Both of my boys want to be Peter Pan, no one wants be Captain Hook and I really can not blame them as the costume looks hot with the ascot aka dickie around the neck. Should I just let them both be Peter?
Hugs to you all and can't wait to see you........my 5 year old asked me last night at dinner "how many days now" and I guessed 55 and thought I need to go check one of you alls counter :p

I think that would be great! So you really don't think 2 Peter Pan's would be too much? They are 3 years and 3 months apart but sooooooo competitive. My oldest Chance says he does not want to be CHook bc Chook is bad and Peter Pan is good and his little brother (2.5 Cade) is the bad one  so he should be C. Hook. I have to say I agree with the rationale but know I can't keep that 2.5 year old in that costume for extended periods. It has long sleeves and ruffles...........................at least we know we have a great Captain Hook :bounce:

WoW!! You guys have been busy. I have a lot of catching up to do.
I like the "Tired Mom" costume idea. I'll bet that would be the easiest costume ever.
Sound as if there will be a lot of celebrating on this cruise. DH and I will be celebrating birthdays. My birthday is actually Oct 24 but DH's birthday is Oct 31. My sister is celebrating her retirement but she actually retired in June.
Ginger: In addition to Andrew participating in the TorT we will be passing out goodies. We are still in Stateroom 2084. Not sure what yet. I probably need to make a stop at Party City.
Poohbush: I hope your MIL is doing well. She is in our prayers as well.
I don't know how much time they will be spending in Common Grounds since one of them is too old but my 2 nieces that will be with us are 17 and 18. (Rae, I don't know if I added Alissa the 18 yo to the cruise list. I think it was still up in the air when I sent you our names.)
Did anyone take a look at the cruise list Verandah Man had? I wish I knew how to do all those interesting things. He even had pictures of the other DIS cruisers. That was great.
I guess I had better go now. Exercise and housework & a 3 yo await and soccer practice is at 6:30. That Tired Mom costume gets easier and easier.

Count me in on that "tired mom costume" - My youngest has just started kindergarten and I forgot how hard it is to get in the routine of things, waking up, fixing breakfast, driving to school, picking up from school, etc - CALGON!!!!!!!
I have to go and get some treats for the kids for our TOT - and maybe some for the moms too! - Someone at my gym calls Halloween Captain Morgan night - In his neighborhood, all the adults bring their "special" drink out with them when they take their kids at. Then at participating houses, they get their cup refilled with that "special " drink - He likes captain morgan -
Hey other Karen - You will have to bring some candy from England - With my husband being from England, I know how great Cadbury chocolate is!!! He will be first in line at your door if you bring some!
I think two Peter Pans would be adorable!!!! You have to do it! Now if they could only get their picture taken with Tinkerbell!
Karen
Hey, girls I think we're on to something here with this Tired Mom idea!
Karen, I love the idea of Captain Morgan day. Sounds like my kind of party. I've made a mental note to bring the chocolate - can't remember the last timer I had a man beating a path to my door!!

While I was exercising, I remembered this really cute costume that a co-worker wore to work one Halloween. It was the very image of a Tired Mom. It is a one person costume that looks like 2 people-a mom with a large baby on her back. It was so funny.
I thought I would try to find it on a costume web site. I found it on Halloweenmart.com if anyone would like to see it. It is titled: But Mommy, I don't wanna grow up. With a 3 yr old, I imagine I pretty much look like that already and do not need the costume.
BTW. I think someone asked about excursions with toddlers. These are the excursions we did last Halloween cruise.
Key West: Old Town Trolley/Conch Train tour-DS would have like it better if we had been on the train rather than the trolley.
Grand Cayman: Grand Cayman Island Tour-DS liked the Turtle Farm.
Cozumel: Ocean View Explorer Tour-DS really enjoyed this excursion.
Okay. Back to housework.

DH wants us to wear our wedding outfits since we got married on Halloween but I wouldn't want to wear it more than once (big train). Hmmm... what to wear, what to wear....
Still not sure about the T and T thing. I'll let you know soon. What times was it to be again? I know it was on the 30th (day at sea before CC). Thanks!
Don't let's go there. We got married on Halloween too (never come across anyone else who has, so glad to read your post) but though my dress is in the attic, it most certainly wouldn't fit me now. 22 years, 3 kids and 1000's of chocolate bars have seen to that.

Rochelle, that website sure had a lot of costumes! Some of them were pretty funny. (Some were pretty raunchy too! )
I'll join all of you tired moms. My Katie has me running everywhere! She just loves to walk, and is learning she can run now too! She thinks it's a fun game when we're chasing after her!
Her costume came, and boy does she look sweet as a ladybug. The wings sort of flutter when she walks (runs!) and she loves to wear the headband! She's just growing up so fast!
Rae, I can't believe Andy typed his trip reports without his glasses! I took mine off, and I have to get less than a foot from my screen just to see this! I can't imagine how he did it!

Rae I would take over the job of keeping track of who's crusing with us but it's all I can do to keep track of the adding and stateroom changes of the T-or-T list.
About the list I have together, please let me know ASAP if I have your information correct. Also send me a PM if I have your stateroom number listed and you DON'T wish to have your stateroom listed as a participating stateroom for us to visit.
SPECIAL NOTE ABOUT THE T-or-T LIST:
As our crusing date is quickly approaching and we are all busy preparing for our long awaited cruise, I feel the need to set a closing sign up date on our Trick-or-Treat Event. September 21, will be the last day to get your children signed up. I will need to know your stateroom number, will it or will it not be one that the children can visit. Also, please don't post saying you think your children would want to do this, CAUSE I will not be adding anyone else to the list till I get a for sure with information response. SEPTEMBER 21 WILL BE THE CLOSING DATE FOR THIS EVENT.
Sorry to have to do this, but, to get a final count for everyone to prepare for it, IT IS A MUST.
Thanks for your understanding, Ginger

Good Morning All:wave:
I found our thread on page 2. half way down. I can't wait for our sailing date to get here. I need a break from all this high dollar shopping. LOL We went to the stone place yesterday to get a quote on our countertop for our island. We'll be so broke by the time the cruise rolls around. You'll be able to recognize me easily. I'll be the one holding a petty cup at the gates boarding the ship asking for any extra change.
Getting ready to place an order to Oriental Trading Company anyone want anything from there? Any orders $60. or more from the Halloween sales book get free shipping, I'm up to about $40.. Send me a PM by Sept 10.. we'll work out the money details by PM and I'll deliver your order to you on the ship.
Rae if you bring your list forward maybe I can help you update it.

Let's get together.
Who's going to be at the Radisson the night before the cruise?
We will be going to dinner at one of the local restaurants by the port, looking for anyone else interested. We have an 8 passengers Ford Excursion only 3 of us if you need a ride.
Rae please tell us again about the onboard ship mets you have planned.
Boarding party: What time and where?
Palo Brunch: What Day and what time?
Any other mets planned?
I am sure there will be alot of us at the Castaway Party.
BTW, you can add my name to the Tired Mom's costume. Over weight, no time to exercise. Hairs a mess, bags under my sagging eyes, I need a lawn mower to take care of my eyebrows, my nail are just an awful looking mess I'm pale as a ghost.
"CALGON" you say Karen, that's not going to do it for me this time. I need a week in the Rain Forest.

Well, my first time checking in here in a while, and I am finding it difficult to keep up with all the conversations going on!
DS and I attended the Brown's game today, and I needed something to cheer me up - so I decided to check in here and see what is going on, and think about our cruise.
We are arriving on Friday, but just got in the mail our tickets for "Mickey's Halloween" on Friday at the MK before the cruise. We are staying at VWL both the night before, and the night after the cruise. Anyone else doing that?
We are starting to look more seriously at excursions now too, but we have an eclectic group. DS is 16, and DD is 3.5, so we are trying to make everyone happy. The weather here in OH is exactly what I am hoping for - sunny, not too humid, and delightful.
Can't wait - won't be long now!

I took Ashley to Costco today, they have Disney costume for sale. She took one look at one of the Princess gowns and about dead right there. Oh!!! Mommy that's what I want to be...can I wear that gown on formal night???? So that took care of my Halloween costume shopping for her. Now something for Bill and I.
Jhalkias I was in Ohio 2 weeks ago, Columbus. Have a great time at MNSSHP, wish we were going.

Ginger,
My crew will be at the RAD the evening before the cruise.
Hi everyone from a wet and chilly England. Our summer heatwave has definitely gone for good. Roll on some Florida and Caribbean sunshine.
We won't be able to join you at the Radisson before the cruise. We are staying at the Boardwalk from October 17th to 24th so if anyone is in that area during that time and wants to meet up on the Boardwalk or in Epcot, let me know.
I think all these tired mothers should get together. I seem to remember a while ago that someone suggested a girls only visit to Palo for High Tea. Is that still in the plan? If not, does anyone think it would be a good idea?
Would it be hard to get a reservation for several people? If we can co-ordinate the booking, I don't mind making the resevration when we board, although I don't think we would be amongst the first families on board so if someone else will be earlier and wants to do it, that's fine.
Let me know if you think it's a good idea and at what time and then we can get it sorted. I guess we would just need everyone's stateroom numbers to link the bookings.
Right, I must do some work or there will be no money for cruising!

Unless there is someone who will object, I have proposed the following:
Radisson Friday Night -
We will be there both Thursday and Friday nights. Any suggestions for a meeting would be welcomed. Ginger's idea about dinner is great. I will have room for 1 more person in my van if we do this.
IF Andy's favorite restaurant isn't too far (Dixie Crossroads), that could be a great place to have dinner.
Meet and Greet - Saturday October 25
Promenade Lounge after the Safety Drill and before the Sail Away Party - just a short "Hi, I'm....!".
Mom, Michael and I will be wearing Orange Pumpkin face shirts - so we should be easy to spot.
Brunch - Monday October 27 - 10:00 at Palo
Mom and I will be there.
If one of our group has concierge service, they can make the reservation ahead of time for all of us. If not, we have to have names/room numbers ahead of time to make it for those who will be arriving late.
Trick or Treat - Thursday October 30 -
Ginger has been great about keeping the list so I defer to her for the plans regarding this event.
I was thinking of having something additional for "after T and T" for all of us - not quite sure what or where, but maybe a little "party" . This would be great if I had the WD Suite so I could offer my room, but I don't think a Category 6 can hold all of us! Maybe the Promenade Lounge area? Again, it's generally not too busy there and maybe we could come up with a few games for the kids (pin the tail on the donkey?) Hey, whatever!!!
Also, those who wish to dine together can link their reservations now with the DCL representatiave and be seated together.
IF you have a preference for servers, you can request that server at the Dining Room Changes during Embarkation. I do this all the time and really like the idea of having the same "friend" from past cruises be my server. Same with rotation - if you want a different rotation, you can ask for the change.
Again, the word is "request" - they will do their best and usually can make your request a reality.
Also, Talent Show - Emma, Michael and I, so far, are the only ones who are planning to get involved with this - that is assuming that they haven't done away with it by then! I sure would like to see some others - hey, none of us are professionals, so as amateurs we sure would like some company up on stage!!!! Sing, dance, play an instrument? Even if you are just learning the instrument!
Also, what about excursions? Anyone want to see if there will be others with them from our group on the excursion?
I am considering parasailing, but Michael is too little (size/weight).
I had other plans but they seem to be falling apart since Michael changes his mind as quickly as he changes his clothes. Mom doesn't want to do anything but Rainforest and reading!!! But hey, it's her vacation and at least I got her to get a costume together!!!!
Okay, that's a lot to digest - so let's try to improve my list - as soon as I find it.(tee hee hee).
Rae
Rae,
Mark & I would love to join you for the brunch. Do we need to book ourselves and ask them to link our resvervation with yours or do you (or someone) need room numbers to link the ressie for all who want to join in? I think this is what Ginger did last year (Ginger if you're out there, how does it work?).
What do you think of the idea of a ladies only high tea? The only thing is when to do it - we will be too full after brunch and the other at sea day is Thursday when we are trick or treating. Maybe on reflection it's not a good idea. Any thoughts?
Karen
Rae,
Forgot to ask. Are the t-shirts the ones from Verandah Man? He very kindly sent us the art work and we are thinking of getting them made here for me, Mark & Emma to wear.

I love the Ladies Only High Tea!!!! We could do that on Thursday afternoon!! T and T will be at 11AM - so we would have time for a 2:30 High Tea. Yes, I think it would be soooo nice! And relaxing!
Ginger, how did you group do it for Brunch? Andy?
We have always had someone in the WD Suite make the reservation through concierge services.
I picked up these T-shirts last year in the after Halloween Sale - I should ask Andy to make decals for us, but I hate to keep him so busy with these projects. Andy - you know where I am coming from on this!
Also, Andy - I did see the parasailing pictures this morning. I had a cold shiver run down my back......
Rae
Rae,
Let's see who else is interested in High Tea and go for it then.
We have Andy's design (it is the one he did some time ago for door magnets) and can e-mail it to you if you don't want to trouble Andy.
I am also considering parasailing BUT I am very cowardly. I was very nervous on the banana boat last year (and not only because hanging on to the handle brought me into far too close proximity with the very large, very hairy man in front who was only wearing swimming trunks - get the picture?)
I am scared of heights (why am I even considering this I hear you say) and blind as a bat without my specs. Andy, do they let you keep your glasses on (sorry I know it's a bit of a sore point for you at the moment - the things some people will do to see the inside of the ladies room - lol).
If I can be persuaded, I might be up there - what do you think, Rae are you game?

Karen I would love to do High Tea with you. We are doing T-or-T early, High tea is in the afternoon 3:30-4:30.
To make ressie for others is easy you need the last name in which the stateroom has been booked under, also the stateroom number. In the past I have put the Palo ressies under "THE DIS GROUP" . That made it easy for anyone who want to be added on later. I didn't have any problems making the ressies at Palo for brunch without Concieerge Services. I was at Palo when they opened the doors to accept reservations though.
We are still undecided about brunch. If we decided to do brunch we'll make our ressies.
Not sure where Dixie Crossing. We usually go to one of the restaurants that the ship pasts as we are leaving the port.
To link your reservations you'll need to exchange the booking reservation numbers and last names of those you wish to link with.
I am so sorry that Ray will not be making our tee-shirts this year. He has closed his business, not making enough to keep it going.
The past couple of years most of the families have gone to Lumiere's for lunch after the T-or-T. The kids all eat fast to get back to the clubs. Let me know if anyone is interested in going there afterward, I'll set it up.

Karen, are you serious about the parasailing?! Well, give me a few seconds to catch my breath on that one!!!!
I just busted a gut on that "very hairy guy in front of you"....yuck!! I don't think I'd like to have to hug a stranger especially one like that....no offense hairy men, but put a shirt on!!
Okay, anyone else for Brunch? High Tea?
I'll have to check Andy's site for the location of Dixie Crossroads then get back with you.
Great idea to go to Lumiere's for lunch after T and T. We are in!
Rae
Rae, if we are going to make group bookings, I will sort out the High Tea one if you do the brunch; spread the load a little.

Hey everyone. We are back from Orlando. It took me 20 minutes to catch up on all of the posts. What a bunch of chatterboxes you were this weekend!
Anyway, we had a GREAT time despite the threat of a tropical storm. All day Friday the weather was saying the storm would be over Orlando by FRI evening. But we went to Night of Joy anyway, and when we got there we were told that the storm was sitting stationary over Tampa!:D So we had an overcast evening with a nice breeze keeping us cool!!! And it was a FANTASTIC night!
SAT we went to sea world, had a few raindrops in the am, but then the sun came out with still some clouds in the sky. My 2 year old niece loved the animals.
SUN we went to downtown disney for some lunch and shopping.
I bought my tickets for the OCT 3 MNNSHP and got a room at the BW. I tried to get a room for the 16 &17th of Oct, but all the studios were booked. I want to try and get to EPCOT on the 18th for the international food and wine festival.
Anyway, I would love to do the ladies afternoon tea! Also the lunch after TorT. I think we are going to do palos brunch by ourselves, since there are 16 adults traveling with us. And we will be at the Rad the night before, however, I am not sure what time yet.
Have a great day everyone.
Dena
Okay everyone. Those who want to do the Palo High Tea (ladies only - otherwise known as the Tired Moms' Convention) on Thursday afternoon either post or PM me with your last name and stateroom number and I will endeavour to make a group booking when I board. Let's hope I get to the ship at a reasonable time; I don't fancy having to tell all those tired mums that we have to go to Pluto's instead!
Rae, I do like Jeffrey Archer though it is some time since I have read any of his books. I love all types of crime books and am especially fond of books by Tami Hoag, Patricia Cornwell, James Patterson, Tess Gerritson and Linda Reichs. I am currently on the look out for books for our trip to Florida (we leave 5 weeks this Friday for a week at WDW before the cruise) so if anyone has any good suggestions, please let me know.
Karen
PS I will confirm about Lumiere's as soon as possible. Does anyone know if the lunchtime menu would have any good offerings for vegetarians?

Karen - love the title "Tired Mom's Convention"!!!!
Try Ann Rule - she was Ted Bundy's co-worker and wrote about him. She was a cop that wrote so many good magazine articles that she became a very popular author. I think I own everything she ever wrote!!!! All of her stuff is true crime, and she is very careful with details, etc. I also like Sidney Sheldon, Clive Cussler, Stuart Woods and for historical romance (taking place in England - Bertrice Small - try my favorite of hers "Moment in Time".
I will try the authors you have suggested also - thanks!

Seriously, the Disney Captain Hook costume is great but he would never wear it. I am trying to find a body suit comfortable one piece pirate costume with pirate hat. I found one of www.brandsonsale.com I just need to decide on the size.
I love the Princess costumes I am seeing, makes me long to be little again..............

BUZZ&WOODYSMOM: Yes all three of mine will be TorT my 16 yr old is a big kid at heart. I am making up goodie bags, and unfortunately, they will take up space. Last year I put them in one of my carry ons so they would not get squashed. This year I may put them in shoe boxes and stick them in my daughters suitcase (as mine will be full);)
If its not too late, I also wanted to add my cousin Sarahs children to the TORT list. They are Angela 5 and Maria 16 and my cousin willl also be handing out treats. They are now stateroom 2104. And also my sisters MIL Debbie will be greeting and treating and she is in stateroom 2050.
Thanks,

Buzz&Woody's Mom - yes, Emma, Oliver & James are all trick or treating. The lure of the candy was too much for the boys in the end!
Are there any more takers for the Tired Moms' Convention - High Tea at Palo on the Thursday -Ladies Only? So far it is only me, Ginger, Rae and Rae's mum. All tired moms welcome. Hello everyone! I haven't posted in awhile, thought I'd ask some questions tonight since I can't seem to get the search function to work!
This will be our first Disney cruise (we've been on 2 Carnivals) and the first with our DD10 and DD8. We're also traveling with good friends on their first cruise with DD11 and DS9 (he'll celebrate his 9th birthday on the cruise!!). I'm trying to figure out everything I need to do.
As soon as we board, do I need to go as quickly as possible to make reservations at the adult only restaurant (is it Palo's??) I want to make sure I do that correctly and not mess up and miss out.
We're going to pass on the official excursions. I know, I know, but for now that's the plan. We'll probably just wander around Key West. We've been to Cayman before so we'll head for Stingray City and the Turtle Farm on our own. DH and I plan to dive in Cozumel, we may do the official excursion for that.
Anything else a newbie should know? We are soooooo ready for this cruise!!

Wendy-
Welcome aboard. For diving in Cozumel you should check out Eagleraydivers.com. They are an exclusive company that does not advertise only word of mouth. We have used them 3 times and they are excellant. Chellie is a transplanted American and her DH a native of Mexico City. They are wonderful, the guides are helpful safe and speak perfect english. Diving or snorkeling is not to be missed in Cozumel.
Have fun!

I also hope that Rae continues to post on this thread. She always had such helpful information. I'm not sure what happened as I too missed what occurred. Maybe in time she will come back.
No docs yet!

We were on The Magic last year on Halloween and had such fun. Our son was almost 5 at the time, and he changed into three different costumes throughout the day. The trick or treating was a little disorganized, but hopefully they've worked it out a little bit better this year.
Hi SuzPasq. I don't remember seeing a post from you before (forgive me if I'm wrong) so welcome to the thread). If you look back, you will see that we are doing our own DIS T or T and your little one could join this. Ginger has been organising the list which is closing on Sept 21 so we can all organise our goodies. If you want to take part post or PM Ginger with your stateroom and she can add you to the list.
We cruised last Halloween and did the DIS T or T which was great fun. We didn't do the DCL one but from what we saw of it it was a bit disorganised. Join us, it's great fun seeing the kids go from stateroom to stateroom. Other things also planned - DIS meet, Ladies only High Tea, Brunch - look back through the thread and see what you would like to do. Look forward to meeting you on the Magic.

Hi everyone! Not much going on here, so I haven't posted much. Still waiting to get our main seating waitlist cleared. Sigh! Looks like we'll have to wait until we get on the ship.
Rae, we miss you! Hope you'll come back soon! :bounce:

Karen (KEH),
Thanks for the welcome. We actually were planning to go on the 10/24 cruise this year, but instead were booked in December. (12/13--Eastern Itin this time) What a great idea though to organize your own Trick or Treating. I'm sure it will be a lot of fun. I'm going to search through past threads and see if anyone from our upcoming sailing is posting here.

Glad you found us gumball! :p This is my 2nd DCL cruise, so I am not quite as experienced as others. But I will give a shot to your questions asked on the other thread.
We are also booked on deck 2, and from what I have read here on the DIS boards it is kinda nice. It is easier to debark when we are in port.
I do see that your stateroom is on the noisy list, I am not sure how bad it can be. Maybe someone here has stayed in a "noisy" room and can help you with that. Did you book throughDCL directly? Maybe you can call them on Monday, and request a different stateroom? I wouldn't worry about paying for an upgrade. Sure it would be nice, but if you are like us, we hardly spent any time in our room! When you get to port, you inquire about the cost of an upgrade then, and it may be cheaper than doing it upfront. Also, it is rare, but DCL has been known to upgrade folks out of the blue :-)
We do have a TOT meet planned for the little ones, if you would like to participate, just let Ginger know. Also, Ms. Karen (KEH), rosegreenthumbs mum, is organizing a "TIRED MOMMIES MEET" for high tea in Palo :-) If you have the time you should go back and skim over the thread, there is some very useful info within these pages! LOL
Again, WELCOME ABOARD! :bounce: :bounce:

Sure it will be nice to meet up for both, holloween and the tea that would be cool. I have never done a cruise so for me this should be interesting my biggest fear is that we have a tiny space for the 4 of us. But you are right who will ve in the room. Hopfully not us. We didnt really go out of our way to go out on other trips but we never seems to say in our room for any great leagths. So i guess I will stay put but sure do wish we werent in the sound problem area. I just learned that also and I did speak with disney today and they said there wasnt anything else availabe unless I were to upgrade besides a few in the back of the ship. !!! We live and learn shall see how it goes and well. just hope. I will continue to read the post here and I did at least start to pack 6 weeks comes quick. thank you for your help and any other avice people may have please post and thank you again for your info. Much appreciated.
