Yes, the "margets"!
And the magnets too!

I am not going to blame this new keyboard but it's been a trial to get it as comfortable as my old one was........

Busy day today - lots of stuff to do and all I want to think about is cruising! BAD RAE! BACK TO WORK!

Rae

I didn't get margets, Andy I want a marget too. LOL

Off work today. I want to go to the gym and Ashley want to go to the movies to see the Rug Rats. I hate the Rug Rats...what's a mother to do.

Rae, I don't blame you Antigua is very tempting. I'm going to wait and see what the future holds before I change. I've been tring to talk Ray and Tony into going with us next year. Maybe a new port of call will get them excited.

Rae I just noticed that you'll almost be going back to back next year. Why not go for a whole month??? LOL Just think of the packing time you'll save not to mention the money on airfare.

I know!!!! I told Mom and Tom that but they are each going on only one of those trips, so I have to return. IF there is any chance for us to do the 10 day trip over 2004 holiday - I might just swap one out and do it. That's always a possibility.

I have to see what the cash flow is since I refuse to pay interest charges and will only go if I can have it paid in full or use DVC points. It wouldn't make sense for me to pay interest for a vacation!!!

Rae

"Ginger"
06-19-2003, 08:58 AM
Your right about that. If you have to pay interest there is no savings. I've been looking into our points and if we don't go to WDW in January we may have enough to pay for our 2004 cruise.

Do you have any idea where the 10 day cruise will be going, that is if they do offer it. I remember last year there was something about a cruise in Europe. If I can found the page about it I'll share the info.

I love Europe - especially northern Italy! Count me in, but don't count on my return!

Rae sorry it took me so long to get back, I forgot. Getting old is a b..... I did a survey last year for DVC this is what they were asking.

What a wonderful itinerary for Ports of call - anytime I can get to Italy, I run like a rabbit!

I would like to see a trip to Venice added, but not at the expect of losing any of the other ports! Been to Livorno and Civitavecchia (you can get to Sardania from there!) - wonderful!

Thanks, Ginger!

By the way, did you "talk" with my postal carrier "Sparky" - he has been here early lately....I figured you gave him the old "1-2"!

Rae

"Ginger"
06-20-2003, 09:25 AM
Yes, I put a litttle spark under Sparkly's heels. LOL
Sparky has picked up his speed because his load has gotten a little lighter and the weather is nicer. I've been getting done alot earlier myself.

Looks like rain here today, very gloomy :( . So do I go to the gym or spread mulch? DH's is home I think I'll spread the mulch since I'll have him here to help. I know I do have to track down my contractor, we got the finally go ahead from Harford Co. to start work on our house. Boy! this has been taking for ever. I could have done it myself and had it done by now and I don't know anything about it. It was suppose to start April 1st. I guess I should have known better with April Foolsday as my starting date.

Hey Rae where is everyone???? Are we the only ones posting anymore:tongue: :teeth: . Have a great day:wave:

HI All:

Back from our trip to Texas. I'll have to spend some time going over posts I have missed while we were gone. Hope you all are doing well and that I didn't miss much while we were gone.

A European cruise would be so awesome! I am originally from Naples, Italy and would love to take my kids on a European cruise. I plan on taking them to Europe someday anyway so this would be a super way to go. Those of you "in the know" please keep us posted on what you learn about this exciting possibility!

:)

I'm still here.

I don't post much. Probably because I'm too lazy. :D

European cruise sounds interesting. Not that I'd do it as I am not much of a European fan. They could always skip France though and go to Portugal instead. Hmmmmmmm ... wonder if that has anything with me being Portuguese? Nah .. I'm fair! LOL

Seriously, it all sounds great to me! I'm just really, really looking forward to the cruise. And for more reasons that just cruiising on DCL as well.

Im still here just been busy since we got back from Orlando. All 4 kids are at home with it being summer vacation and we stay pretty busy. Also, I am returning to work from maternity leave in 2 weeks and I am trying to get things done around the house.

Hi all,

I'm here too! You're not alone!

Dzneprincess, did you go to Sea World? You were talking about the possibility before you left. If you went, did you enjoy it?

Rae, I read that very funny thread posted by Andy about the shrimp. Boy, do you have a reputation for shrimp! Just so you know, any shrimp I get, you can have anytime! :p

Ginger, congrats on passing your test. How wonderful! I'm so happy for you! :Pinkbounc

Good evening to you all!

Tina we did go to SeaWorld. In fact, now Taylor has decided that she wants to swim with the dolphins on our cruise. She is very dtermined. She fed the dolphins at SW and it was all I could do to keep her from "wink wink" falling in with them. So I am trying to find a swim that will let a 7 year old participate. Most I have seen say 8 or above. We did enhoy Seaworld. We got to Orlando at about 630pm and since SW was open til 10pm, and I knew I could get a 2nd day free, we went ahead and got "3 free"hours! LOL bc we only had 1 free day after that to do SW. Anyway, we made our way to the back of the park, and there was NO line for Journey, and I was very surprised that my almost 4 yr old DS was tall enough to ride. So the whole family hopped on, and that PICTURE was GREAT! I wish my cheapo husband would have bought it. All the kids faces were priceless, and I was VERY proud oy my young DS he didnt cry at all. It was the very first time he rode a thrill ride, other than the goofy coaster at WDW.

Ginger I am sorry I forgot to congratualte you on passing that test.

Taylor has returned from a weeklong stay at her Grandmas so she will be catching up on her emails to Ashley and Tessa! LOL I think she gets more personal email than I!

Rae seems like you were expecting these port changes? LOL I am glad they were what you wanted.

This year was me and DH 10 yr anniversary but since I had just had a baby we couldnt do anything really special. SO next year we are going to celebrate with a bang, and of course I want to cruise! But I would fell TOOOOOOOOOOOO guilty going on DCL without my kids, so we will probably give RCL a try, just the 2 of us...OR we may fly to Vegas and have a sinful week ;)

Hey Ginger, I called my TA to get that DVF code added to my ressie for the $100 dcl shipboard credit, and she couldn't get it. She got me the $50 one, but said in order to ge tthe $100 credit I'd have to cancel my current ressies and rebook, therefore losing out on my EBS. She said thats what Disney told her. Any ideas? IT sure would be nice to have the $100 credit, since we have 2 rooms that would be an extra $200.

I still havent gotten travel insurance. Do you all recommend it? If so through who?

Tiff, are you feeling any better?
Emma I am glad your play went well
I havent seen Jan post in awhile? Is she MIA also?

Rae, how is Michael feeling these days? Have you all gotten a new house yet?

Did anyone see the Hulk yet? My boys want to see it, but I wanted to get some reviews first.
Well look at me little miss blabbermouth. Guess Ill go to bed now, Nate will be up in roughly 2 hours wanting a bottle.

Hi all!

First of all, did you hear that loud noise? NO? Ohhh, how could you miss Bill Bixby rolling over in his grave over the new Hulk movie.

Did I say it was awful? No, it wasn't awful. I wanted to just cry as it progressed because it ruined a great series with two find actors. Our matinee price was $2.75 a person and I think that was more than enough to be now the "worst movie I ever saw" title holder.

Michael went 10 days without an asthma attack and whammo, last night......oh well, back to square one. Thank you good neighbors for being so elitist and inconsiderate by burning your yard waste.

We have a house showing today - keep your fingers crossed.

Paul - you aren't lazy - you are native Hawaiian! Just in that tropic frame of mind that we all want to share!

Zitofamily - Buen Giorno! I lived in Italy (northern) 3 years and it's the only place other than New York, that I'd move to in a heart beat!

Ginger - we are the "talkers" aren't we?! Thanks for putting a spark under Sparky. He's a nice man but whew!!!!!! It's awful getting mail after 5PM!

I think Sea World is a great place, dzneprincess - glad you had such a good time! Yes, it would be nice for your daughter to get that dolphin swim in!

GET TRAVEL INSURANCE!!!! This is a big must for us! You just never know what will happen when and where - I've used Disney for mine since they will take Mom at her age (74) and others won't. We have never USED it, but it's just like disability/life/house/renters/car insurance, you don't want to have to use it!

Love to all,
Rae

Rae,

I haven't seen it yet, and knowing me I'll wait until its on DVD anyway. I have to admit I'm a huge Bill Bixby fan and I had a feeling the movie wasn't even gonna be close to what he did in the series.

Well, I was one of those crazy people who bought the next Harry Potter book. Yea..yea I know I'm certifiable. So far its pretty good I have to admit. Huge book though. I'll have to let you know how it is once I get through it. Might be a while though.. :smooth:

I did get "Catch Me If You Can" on DVD today. Now that's a halarious movie. Also got "The Recruit" with my ultimate favorite Al Pacino. Has anyone seen "Simone" on DVD yet? I've been looking for it. I have just about every Pacino movie made.

Oh I know what halloween goodies we'll be handing out for the trick o treaters, probably little halloween toys or stickers. Candy is ok, but I try to steer away from that. Plus I know me I'll eat the leftovers and I need that like I need a hole in my head.

So any costume ideas? I'm actually thinking about going as a pirate. Its an easy costume to pack--maybe not original but I like to keep it simple.

Well, hope everyone is having a good weekend. My Mother had a great Saturday so far--she won a free $100 gift certificate at this store we shop at. I told her if she needed help spending it to let me know..hehehe.

OH Rae - I was at least hoping the Hulk would at least be worth sitting through - Sorry it turned out to be so bad - It looked like it might have been bad by the way of the previews. I really like Jennifer Connelly too - She was so good with Russell Crowe in "A beautiful mind" -

Ginger - Great job on passing your exams - Time to relax in the summer - Hopefully your summer weather is better then what we are having lately.

Kaye - Were your there at midnight to buy "Harry P" or did you wait till today? Just curious if you were there last night how the crowds were -

Karen

Kaye - like I said, Bill Bixby is rolling over in his grave. If he wasn't already dead, this would have killed him. I try to explain to Michael what Lou F. and Bill B. had going with the TV series and how different it was, but no use, the violence and just out of control anger is there and I don't like the way it makes Michael act. One line that Bruce says is, "I like being out of control."

Michael keeps using that and we have worked so hard on making him realize he needs to be in control of himself and not act out any aggression or anger.

This movie needs to be for ADULTS only and I'd go further and say what kind of adults, but I think my DH would have enjoyed it (computer graphics) so I won't!!!!!

I was disappointed in "Just Married" - saw that on DVD. Could have been soooo much better. Did enjoy "Sweet Home Alabama" though!

Wanted to see "The Recruit" but haven't been able to. It was on the ship in May but the very last show.

Got to get ready for Church - see you all later and I will be posting the list today, so any additions/changes/deletions - let me know!

Good Morning All!

Thanks for the Congrats, I now have the Postmaster at my post office shaking in his boots.LOL Hope he doesn't read the boards. I can now file greivances, LOL. Things would have to get pretty bad for me to do that.

Our weather has been very moist and cool. DH opened our pool last week the water is chilly, chilly, chilly. To cold for me to get in, we have hopes for less rain and more sunshine.

WOW! Rae, going to the movies is cheap where you live, it's $6.00 for the matinee here. I have no desire to see Hulk, The Rugrats was enough for me. I did buy the Hulk hands for one of my in the past daycare kids. Ashley is going to his birthday party next week she thought they truly suited him, I agreed. He was a handful at times.

Off to the gym got to get back into it, starting my before I cruise diet. Got to get into those formal clothes, I refuse to buy new ones since I've only worn these a couple times. I tell DH that when my formal wear wears out I'll stop cruising. He laughs and says, Yeah! I'll believe that one when He.. freezes over.

Y'All have a great day.

P.S. my contractors said they were going to start working on my house in 3 weeks, that is if the weather permits. I'm praying for :sunny: :sunny: :sunny: :sunny: :sunny: :sunny: :sunny:

Nope, I didn't stand in long lines to be the first to get the new Harry Potter book. I'm not that crazy..hehehe

My Mother and I happen to stop over at this place called BJ's--its very similiar to Sam's and Costco. I wanted to renew my membership and I saw this huge stack of Harry Potter books and I said what the heck why not. Price wise not too bad: $15.99. Its hard back and extremely thick. Probably gonna take me a while to read it all, but so far its been pretty good.

The good thing was they were having their birthday festivities and we registered for door prizes and my Mother happen to win one. We went over there today and spent the $100 gift card. Got this cordless phone--among a lot of other things.

Rae:

I had a feeling that new Hulk would be way too violent for kids. Too bad they can't bring back these nice warm and fuzzy movies we watched when we were growing.

Well, take care and I'll catch you guys later..

Hello All!.

Rae-Thanks for the new list. What a large crowd. My sister noticed the number of teenagers cruising. My niece is 17yo. She should not have too much trouble finding someone her age to spend time.

I don't get to chime in very much but I do think about you all often. Rae, I thought about you on Friday evening. My DBiL prepared dinner for us. Moroccan shrimp was the main dish.

I am excited. Some of you may remember me saying that our office is moving. We packed our things on Thursday. IT has worked all weekend to get the servers moved and set up. Tomorrow, we report to our new office. The move has added at least 5 min to my morning drive. I might give myself some extra time tomorrow to make sure.

Good night everyone. Have a great week.

Boy, there are a bunch of us going! What a great group we have. I can't wait!

Dzneprincess, so glad you enjoyed SeaWorld. We haven't been since early 2002, so it'll be interesting to see the new areas and rides the next time we go.

Getting late, got to go to bed.

Wow, it's been forever and a day since I dropped in here. Seems like so much is going on - haven't had a chance to read the threads yet.

Welcome to all those that I missed, there are a bunch of new names on the list and I look forward to getting to know some of you before the cruise. It looks like we (or at least I, with my aunt and uncle who will not be cruising) will be doing a week at Disney before the cruise. Since this is my Celebration Vacation I am doing things the right way :p

Rae - Sorry you didn't like the Hulk. I admit, the show from when I was young was better but, at least the movie had some sort of a story line and wasn't all superhero stuff. That's good because not much of the computer generated stuff looked very real.

Looks like there are lots of good movies coming out though.... hopefully, we usually go to the movies every Sunday night.

I'm looking forward to getting re-involved on this thread. A few busy weeks coming up yet; The landlord is working on remodeling the cottage and I'll be able to move in around August 1st. Will be so nice to have a place to live (right now I'm staying with friends which is nice except I have two dogs and am worried about inconviencing anyone) and get my stuff out of storage. All the paperwork for the divorce should be finalized by the end of September. Then life can go back to normal!

rae519
06-23-2003, 09:30 PM
Ginger - thanks - Austinsmom too?! Ohhh, dear - see what happens when you trust a computer dummy to do these type things! I can't even get the list right!

Paul - I knew I'd get you and Kaye (and her Mom) to brunch. Yes, we definitely will be together for that.

Ginger - Sunday is Key West so I am thinking Monday 10AM (It has to be a day at sea).

How does that work for everyone?

Carolyn1023 - I am more of reader than movie goer - so being an old stick in the mud is probably my reason for not liking Hulk. Plus it's hard for me to sit still THAT long! Imagine that!!!!

I definitely want to see Pirates, but Seabiscuit steals my heart - you know we "horsey people" just drool at "Black Stallion" and "Phar Lap".

I hope that things go okay with your divorce, it's always difficult when a relationship ends - even if it's a lousy one or one sided.
I hope it will be finished soon so you can move on and move in to your cottage. That sounds so cozy and quaint!

We have our house up for sale but only til 10/1. If it goes, fine - if not, well, it wasn't meant to be. If we have our choice, we'd just take Stateroom 5622 and be on the Magic permanently!

GINGER: Congrats to you!!:D

We just got back from BCV, only stayed Sunday night to Monday, just to celebrate our anniversary, which is today. 8years! And guess what!! Anyway, this should be very interesting, since my oldest is almost 17 and my youngest is 12. I hope I remember what to do:p . We are VERY excited as are my children.

I have finished my summer 1 class and now am taking 2 classes over summer 2. UGH.

All else is well here, we have had some rain over the past few days, but it is sunny again today and I am heading to the beach.

OK folks we are getting to the single digits soon! Yipee! So can everyone please list what excursions you are thinking about, and which ones you are definetly going to do? Like Carole, we have cruised with DCL before but the 1st time was inaugural year and we did not know anything about DCL, therefore we didn't do any excursions.....Hey we were 23 and 25, whadd'ya expect? LOL as for us, well thats why I want your opinions LOL I want to do it ALL..hehe

Hi All-

Sounds like someone is pregnant......CONGRAT'S :p We have been busy and I have to admit I have not read the last few pages but we are excited. My 5 year old DS talks about the cruise almost every day. Can't wait for some Magic, wonderful food and beautiful ports and great company like all of you ;)

Rae-

I just saw some of the posts about Michael's asthma. My 5 year old DS has had severe asthma since he was 3 months old. I am a old pro at asthma. He is having a good run right now on a combination of Abuteral, Flovent, Singulair and Zyrtec. I really think the last 3 are God sends because they have kept us out of the hospital ER more. I do agree and parent of a child with asthma will never take for granted a smoker, animal, molds, outdoor sports and activities etc. There are some great books about asthma for children that explains to the child what it is. Chance has had it his whole life and will ask at times why the other kids aren't doing their "breathers". We were told while I was pregnant with our 2 year old DS he had a 50% chance of having severe asthma too but so far he is fine. Good luck and I apologize for this post being late  I am so busy selling my house and building a new one, recovering from that last surgery etc and my boys I can't find my foot......can't wait until October 25, 2003!!!!

Dena, congratulations to you! :teeth: How wonderful!

Dzneprincess, not too sure yet what excursions we'll do. Probably one of the ones on Grand Cayman with the stingray snorkel. And we'll do a semi-sub trip somewhere. We did a semi-sub in St Maarten, and enjoyed that a lot better than the Atlantis Sub in St Thomas.

Tiff, hang in there! Hopefully this cruise will come fast for you, so you can finally relax and take a breather! Maybe you should treat yourself to a nice massage at the Vista Spa and just P A M P E R yourself! ;)

Good evening to you all!

Dena: Congratulations on your pregnancy. Babies are such a precious gift from God.

Dzneprincess: We probably will not take any excursions as this is our first Disney cruise and our youngest is only 4. Most of the excursions seem to require that kids be at least 6 or 8. We have much to learn about cruising with Disney so I look forward to seeing what others say they will be doing as far as excursions.

Rae: Thanks so much for putting together the list of Halloween cruisers. I bet it will continue to grow between now and then. Please post the details for the brunch. My husband and I would love to join you and any others planning to attend.

Is it really still 122 days until we cruise? I just hope the days keep flying as fast as they have these first few weeks of summer. I can't believe it's almost the end of June already!

Hi all! Hope everybody is doing well.

Congratulations Dena! Wonderful news.

Dzneprincess - We're still trying to figure out what excursions we plan to take. There is so much to choose from. I see that Taylor has emailed Tessa. She will read and answer the email either tomorrow or Thursday.

Rae519 - Hope Michael is doing better again. I'm glad that we're not permitted to burn our trash. Hopefully you'll quickly sell your house. Here on Long Island houses are selling like crazy. It's amazing how much money people are getting for them. Good luck!

Regarding travel insurance, has anybody used any insurance other than DCL? I wonder if it is cheaper to go through another carrier?

It's getting late so I better go. 5 am comes pretty fast. Good night all!

I am also very interested in anyone who is travelling with a girl around my oldest (Kelsey - 10) daughters age. If possible, I would like Kelsey to be able to correspond with them via e-mail prior to the trip.

We are on the same cruise as you are, the 3 night Wonder cruise! We have a daughter Kelsey also, who just turned 11! We also have a son who will be 8. Our MIL is coming along with us too, what a coincidence! We have two connecting rooms, cat 8, rooms#7504 and #7506. Has anyone else responded to your request? Kelly Powell, Alaska:Pinkbounc :bounce:

Regarding travel insurance, has anybody used any insurance other than DCL? I wonder if it is cheaper to go through another carrier?

Carole,
I have not gotten travel insurance yet, but my TA recommend going through www.accessamerica.com who is the same company DCL uses but alot cheaper. I went the other day and got a quote, it was only $188 for my family of 5. So I will definitely be getting that here in a few days. Sorry Taylor took so long to write Tessa, my fault entirely. After we got back from Orlando on the 13th, the very next day she stayed at her Granma's, then this week we have been going to art camp..

Rae, CJ really wants to email Michael he asks every time Taylor is writing Ashely or Tessa howcome he can't write to Michael. Please PM your email address again so this child will stop bugging me! LOL

Ginger, I still have had no luck in getting that $100 credit for Disney Visa folks :-( I am going to try and call now.

I priced out the Christmas 10 day cruise for my family...............HAHAHAHA LOL $10k because we need 2 staterooms, we are 6 now! LOL Anyways, all I could do was politely say Thank You to the DCL rep and hang up. Would be nice, but I also like to travel at other times during the year, Biloxi to go gambling, Destin for the beach, and if I can get a great room rate WDW! LOL I just couldn't justify spending that much on 1 trip! WOWO................

I have a trip to Biloxi planned for the end of July! When the casino sends me a comped room, how can I afford NOT to go???????????hehe At least thats what I tell myself;)

Dena-WOW!!!!! That's great!!!!!!! I'm so happy for you :Pinkbounc :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce: :bounce: :D

Excursion- Key West not sure maybe rent an electric car and cruise around but I will be getting a frozen Key Lime Pie on the stick, for sure.
Grand Cayman we are going to rent a jeep and drive to Rum Point.
Cozumel-Most likely we'll go to Mr. Snacho's, we went there last year, we really liked it.

Insurance, we never buy it.

Alaskantwinks I'm not trying to push you off of this thread but you should start a thread for your sailing dates. I am sure there are more people going than just you and Taylor.

Amanda I'll get Ashley to send Taylor an email. Hey!! Play a dollar for me while your in Biloxi.

Rae they do offer brunch on Sunday's while at Key West. Sorry we still haven't decided I think we are going to wait to see if we're change to early seating, we're on the waiting list. We like to have dinner at Palo on Saturday night but if we have late dinning I'm not sure if we will. May just have brunch on Sunday instead. Also depends on rotation.

Heater than that place on Grand Cayman here, but loving it.

See you'll later, pool time.

Ginger - EXCELLENT regarding the brunch on Sunday (Key West Day)! Thanks!

Any problems with us changing that to Sunday at 10AM?!

We are on the wait list also for early dining - fat chance!!! But hey, that's life!

Dzneprincess - sent you a pm with the info. Michael got his postcard from CJ today and was thrilled! Thank you so much!

We always get the insurance, but then again with Mom at 74, our medical problems and an active 8 year old.....I feel like it's Russian roulette at times when we travel!!!

DENA!!!!! WOWWOWOWOWOWOW! How wonderful!!! Congratulations when are you due?!~

Can't wait to meet everyone - getting so close now...

Uhmm Rae, I thought you were early dining? I could have sworn that we talked about that, and you were because we are early dining? Now you have me really confused! LOL How can they link us together if we have early dining and you have late? Are you able to confirm that our dinner is linked? I did call and request it, way back when and my TA said everything is OK, but if you are on late seating then obviuosly something is not..

Please have him write CJ back, he is very into the whole snail mail/email thing like I said earlier.

AND I have to concur with you about the HULK movie! I just got back from taking the kids, they were dying to see it! HORRIBLE.........oh my gosh believe it or not it was sooooooooooooooooooooooooooo boring. Dont get me wrong the parts with the Hulk were good, but geeeeee wiz............could we build up the story any more???????? Oh man it was awful I wanted to leave so bad. My only condolence is that my Sis in law workd for Carmike and gave us free passes for this picture. THank Goodness I didn't have to pay for this movie................Stay AWAY from this movie all.... DO NOT waste your money here.............BLECH

Amanda - call this apology - CONFUSED WOMAN WITH TOO MANY THINGS GOING ON.
Yes, we are early with you. I was thinking of August. Sorry!!!!!! We are definitely together - and I will still babysit Rae Jr. if you need me to!

I got your PM and sent you one. Glad the boys are hooking up!

I fluctuated between wanting to cry because they ruined a good story and leaving because it was violent for so long. Plus that line "I like being out of control" or whatever he said really bothers me since kids pick up on those attitudes.

Sometimes I think we older parents make the wrong decision because we base our information on what was okay when we were young and presently, there is just too much "adult" content wrapped up in childhood innocent cartoons, etc. I am not sure if I said all that clearly enough but I felt Hulk would be like the TV series - using his power to help not hurt. Fool me once - not any more!

Definitely on for Seabiscuit - what could they possibly do to that?
Maybe I'd better see it first with Tom!

Hi all!

RAE: I am due, February 28th. 2004 is a leap year, so maybe it will be a leap year baby!:p

We are not sure what excursions we are doing yet, probably just roaming in key west, definately stingray city in Cayman, we did that last year and LOVED IT!!!! Not sure about Cozumel yet.

I don't think we will be getting together with you guys for brunch, since there are so many taveling with us, we will prabably do brunch together either on Sunday or Monday. (We will need the private room).
:p

I contacted Disney about the 10 day December cruise and am seriously considering it. We have two SPR book for next Halloween, buy I may switch. I know it is more expensive, but what a fun way to spend christmas!!!

Well, thats all of my news for now. See ya!

Dena - you have got to have your baby on 2/29! My friend Carolyn has that birthday and she loves it! Guess no one believes her and she has a blast! But at our age (48) we get a kick out of dust bunnies and belly button lint (when we can find them)!

Yes, there will be a large number traveling with you - how wonderful to have that much family. As an only child, it's been difficult at times for me - cousins were okay, but with the exception of my Mom - it's just DH, and the DS's...I will get a DIL next year though!

Thanks for telling me about your brunch intentions - you really have to do it, it's MARVELOUS!

And please try to make it to Dueling Pianos to see the Great Fidelio - as Founder of his fan club, I promise you the best time you will ever have in your life! And if not, then Michael will see you afterwards.......

Thanks for letting me know about the Hulk movie. My DH and I were going to take our two girls to see it but after hearing what everybody has to say about it we have decided not to go. I think it is a shame that it is not more like the TV show. Both my DH and myself really enjoyed watching the show when we were younger.

dzneprincess - Tessa has replyed to Taylor's email tonight. She is so excited to have a pen pal and to get to know somebody a little bit before we cruise. She is a very outgoing child and really is looking forward to making new friends. Thanks for the insurance information. I'll will be looking into it soon.

The Christmas cruise looks wonderful. But DH will hopefully have a new job at that time and we don't know if he will be able to get off. It also does seem to be expensive. It is fun to dream though!

We haven't decided yet if we are going to do brunch yet. I'm still a little anxious of how we are going to make the Palo and spa reservations. Guess we better have on our running shoes on!

We have late seating for dinner and are on the waiting list for early seating. Does anybody have any experience in switching to early seating. I'm keeping my fingers crossed but am not holding my breath. The late seating may be tough since my kids are used to eating around 5:30. Oh well.

Have a great night all!

WOW. everyone has such exciting things going on.

Dena - congratulations on your pregnancy!

I finally had a chance to sit down and look at the excursions. Although I'm cruising with my parents and a friend of the family - I think I'm the only one doing these excursions.... any feedback would be great.

Cozumel - Mayan Frontier Horseback Riding Tour

Grand Cayman - Stingray City Snorkel Tour (probably the 7:30 am one) and then the Grand Cayman Island Tour (1:25)

Key West- Not a clue

Castaway Cay - Hopefully parasailing and the banana boat

Sounds like fun, we didn't do any excursions last time.
Also, as per Rae's reccomendations - I'm going to try out the spa.

Paul - I will get your info and plan to have you and Kaye (and her Mom) with us at brunch. This trip you get to meet my Mom!

Yes, the HULK movie was definitely not our beloved Hulk. Like I said, I could hear Bill Bixby turning over in his grave. Go see Seabiscuit - it looks wonderful!

We had late seating with Paul and Kaye during our December 2002 cruise - it worked out well because we could do more things and didn't feel the rush to stop and get ready for dinner.
I still prefer early and so does Mom, so we are on early for that cruise.

The Rainforest is wonderful, but do it day by day and forget trying to save money since it was broken and closed several times during our last cruise (May).

Rae - Just let me know what information you need and when. We'll love having brunch with you all!

We're on the late dining right now, but hope to get on early. Mostly just to make sure Kaye's mom gets to eat at the same time she usually eats. Less disruption there the better. But, if we dine late we'll make appropriate adjustments. Either way it's always nice to know other DIS'ers with the same dining to sit nearby.

When we booked the cruise, we wanted an aft cabin, and the only cat 6 they could get us was "behind" the navigator verandahs. These have the full wall balconies. :(

Well, I've called DVC everyday since we've booked, trying to get our cabin location changed, and today it finally happened! We're still aft, but now we're forward of the navigator's, so we have the plexiglass (see thru!) balcony! Yah! :p

Plus we're actually a little closer now to my DH's parents, who are in a cat 11.

Now, if we could only get the early dining, (we're on the waitlist too!)

Oh, Carolyn1023, we're looking at the 730am Stingray Snorkel too. Just me & DH. Our DD will stay on the ship with her grandparents. If they want to go touring later, that's fine. But we're not bringing the baby on the tender. No way!

Anyway, just had to share my happy news with you all.! :Pinkbounc

Poohbush - Good for you! I just love the verandahs - and in my opinion, they are much better than the Navigator's verandah since children can see through the plexiglass.

It might be more difficult to get on that Main Dining list - always popular. BUT things do happen!!

Now start thinking about costumes!

Wow, what a long thread - don't know if I have enough time until October 25th to read through it all!

Anyhow, add us to the list, I just booked us for this cruise with DVC points. Traveling are:

Myself
DW
DS - just turned 16 in June
DD - just turned 3 in February, and can finally go to the kids clubs! Hooray!

DS is returning from a 3 week trip to France with 17 other students tomorrow evening, he just called from Paris, and I surprised him by telling him about the cruise in Oct.!

We can't wait, and are wondering because:

- We have not done the Western cruise, so that is new for us
- Halloween - what fun stuff will be happening on the cruise for the kids?
- and overall, just can't wait!

We have booked a Cat 5, midship. Were used to the Cat 4 on the last several crusies, but just did not want to give up the extra points.

See you all there!

WELCOME ABOARD!!!! Jhalkias,

Your in for a real treat.

A trick-or-treat that is ...LOL

There will be T-ot-T'ing aboard for kids of all ages. Also costome parades and contest. Lots of parties and loads of fun. When you get your docs there will be a note in them telling you a little more about the Halloween Cruise.

I am organizing a TorT for our children, do you think your 3 year old would be interest? The children will be going to the staterooms of those folks who have posted on this thread that they would interested in particpating. In the past we have had a great response to this event and all the children loved it. If your interested send me a PM with your childs name and your stateroom number, also if your stateroom will be one that the children can visit. We do this as a group, it take about 45 minutes. No one has to be waiting all that time in your stateroom for us to come by because we'll give you a minute to get ahead of the group to open the door. LOL

WOW!!! Paris at 16, what a will traveled young man.

Get your costumes made and pack up some goodies. Remember no knives, swords, sharp objects or guns.
Maybe they'll let you upgrade at the port for cash.

BTW - this will be my families 3rd Halloween Cruise aboard the Magic.
Nice move Poohbush. :Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce:

Alot of late diners, we surely won't be alone...will we. If your stuck with late seating and you really want to keep that "at home schedule" there's always Topsiders for dinner. DH and I love it, no need to get dressed up they'll take you in shorts or jeans and with kids. The food is great, as is the service. We do try to remember to take a little cash along for a tip though it's not necessary.

Well all it's getting late and I've had a long week. I hope everyone has a great weekend.

Jhalkias, Welcome aboard! This is our first Western as well, but our 3rd Disney cruise! Hope your DD enjoys the clubs. I've heard great things about them, and that it's sometimes hard to pull them out, as they usually have so much fun!

Before the baby, we loved late dining. So much less of a rush. Her bedtime is usually 7:30 - 8:00pm, so eating at 8:30 (starting) is going to be difficult. We love eating in the main dining rooms, I'd hate to miss too many nights eating elsewhere (whether it's Topsiders or room service.) Plus DH & I have to have one dinner at Palo's (grandparents will be on baby duty that night!) :D Oh well, we'll figure something out!

I will put you on our list and you can check back in a few days to link up to the current list and get an idea of our group! We do have a nice sized one!!!

Wow Rae! Wonderful! I am not a horse person my self! LOL I have been on a horse exactly 3 times my whole life, and all three times they threw my off! But they are exquisite animals!

I am thinking of inviting some of my family to come with us on the cruise. Since we have 2 staterooms booked and they are only 5 of us going, we have room for 8. I called DCL and they said each additional would be 443.77! Gee I'm jealous, if someone offered to let me go on a 7 night DCL cruise for less then $500 I'd be right on that! LOL Unfortunately my family doesn't get the whole Disney thing, so I will be surprised if they come! Another plus is that if there is another adult traveling with us, we can upgrade to a different cat room for one of the rooms, and not have to worry about having connecting rooms. But we will see :-)

We went to see Charlies Angels last night :Pinkbounc I wanna be an Angel:jester: If you enojyed the first movie you will like this one as well.

Ginger - no problem with asthma there, but as soon as he lies down at night or when we entered Church (incense) or someone is burning -----the kid coughs til he starts to vomit. Just awful. We see his MD on Wednesday and I hope he can get another medication that will help him.

Emma - I'll redo it because I want you to continue on this - you are an excellent writer! And take it from me, I would be honest if you weren't because it wouldn't be fair to you or honest of me!

Dneprincess - I love this stable and the crew there - excellent and very safety conscious. Michael can not ride "Red Raptor" anywhere but in the corral for 30 days, then as he and Red get it together, they move on to other things. I couldn't be more pleased with that. There are 90 acres with trails!
Tom came out riding with us today......do you hear a 3 horse family?????

They really don't get the value of the cruise do they?! Wow! You wouldn't have to ask a DIS person twice would you?!
Charlie's Angels ====Maybe!

dzneprincess, how could other members of your family possibly refuse? And for less than $500.00. Just doesn't seem right! Rae's right, we'd all be "chomping at the bit" (a little horse humor for Rae!) on that one!

I started calling him "Red" then Michael said we needed a "bigger name"....so it started "Red Sky", "Red Thunder" then all of a sudden he said, "I got it! Red Raptor! You know like the ones in Jurassic Park!"

Considering he named our cat "Mr. Bumpy" after the claymation tv show "Bump in the Night".....are you surprised?!

Hi you great group of cruisers!!!

Since now my house sold in ONE DAY and I am having to set up temporary lodging with my parents until our new home is built in November I am having to pack everything and leave out "cruise clothes" for our 10/25 cruise

I have a ton of cute outfits for my 2 year old DS to wear each night and took advantage of the cute Buzz and Mickey Tropical shirts on Disney store online. For formal night I will put him in dressy short overalls (you know dressy short 1 piece outfit think British :) that have button up peter pan style shirts underneath.

For my 5 year old DS I am having a tough time with semi and formal nights. I am sorry but I am not going to rent a tux or buy an expensive suit for one night but I am a stickler for always dressing right and for the occassion sooooooooooooo, I took other posters advice and went to a childs resale shop and found a nice pair of navy dress pants and a Polo brand button down shirt that is blue and white checked. I also found a sleeveless sweater/vest and a nice polo shirt to go underneath which I will pair with a pair of khacki pants. Will this work or do I need to get a blazer too? I will keep my eye out for a navy blazer but hope this fits in. What do you all think

Also, when can we book DCL excursions? Is payment due in advance? I wanted to book the GC AC Bus tour for my parents and MIL?

Thanks-

OWWWOOWOWOWOW~! Congratulations!!!

Mine has been on the market now for almost 2 weeks......I hate showings - makes me feel like I am violated! Too private a person for all this looky loo stuff! Be glad that THAT part of the sale is over!!!!

Thanks Rae. Are you moving too? I hated the showings too. Even though I won't get any sympathy for 24 hours of showings :p I too felt weird about it and then I had to load up the boys and leave for the day.....................I plan on wearing nice black dresses for semi and formal nights. My Mom and MIL will be in nice dresses too and then my Dad in suits. If I can find a blue blazer of little suit for Chance I will get it. I have every other night planned. I still have 4 months so I should not sweat it ;) My DM Dad and Mil are going on the AC tour offered by DCL of Grand Cayman but my 5 year old DS, sisters, and myself are heading out with Nativeway to get eaten by the rays

I hope everyone is having a great holiday.

DH, DS, BiL and his daughter, Dsis and I celebrated yesterday. DH has to work all weekend. We went to the Cheekwood, Tennessee Botanical Gardens. The "Dynomite Dinosaur" exhibit is going on right now. Life size dinosaurs sculptures hidden throughout the garden area. It was very hot but lots of fun. DS is ready to go again today.

Nothing new to report. We have not made any excursion plans. We are thinking of spending most of the Key West day on the ship. Maybe we will get off long enough to have some Key Lime pie.

Btw, Does anyone know if the murals in the luggage & customs area at the DCL terminal are available as postcards or prints anywhere? I really like them & would like to have copies but I have not seen them available anywhere.

DS is ready for a snack. I will check back later.

Usually, our family has a cookout on the 4th, and then goes to watch fireworks that evening.

However, this year, our family is scattered.

DW is in Boston for a close friend's wedding. The whole family did not go because our OBX rental starts on Sunday.

DD is with Grandma and Aunt on the way to WMSBRG VA to pick up another aunt and cousins for our OBX vacation.

DS is at his girlfriend's house at a cookout.

And me, I'm sitting here trying to take a break from loading the car - listening to fireworks in the distance with the dog barking, and seeing what news has been posted. DS and I will set out this weekend to meet the whole group at the Beach, picking up DW at a nearby airport along the way.

Happy Independence Day Everyone!

HI ALL :bounce:
I hope everyone is having a great 4th! As for me, well today was my 1st back at work after 11 weeks out for maternity leave! I could have been off and still been paid since it is a company holiday, but I figured I'd sneak in today for a nice quiet day to get reaccquainted with my job! LOL And in the process get paid doubletime and a half :bounce: Need all the money I can get, so I can do what I want on our cruise and not worry about it :-)

Still no word from my parents on whether or not they would like to accompany us, so who knows  oh well their loss if they cose not to go. I think their main hinderance is airfare. It is so expensive these days! I can find a ticket from den to MCO for less than $300! Ouch.

Our 4th tradition, is none! LOL WE usually grill some hotdogs and take it easy. Sometimes if there is a new release at the movies, then we will go see it. Call me crazy, but ever since we started going to WDW, the local 4th fireworks are just not razzle dazzling enough!
LOL does anyone else make minor decisions in their life based in WDW, like that LOL Oh gee, why schlep to downtown Columbus for that measly fireworks show? WE will be in WDW soon anyways. Or my favorite, when the kids want to go to the fair that comes here in SEP/OCT I say why??? It is a waste of money and we have much much more fun in WDW. AH I am spoiled
:p

OH well everyone have a great holiday weekend :D

Hi All  from what I have read everyone is doing well. Way to go on that house sell Tiff. I sure hope your contractor is quicker than ours we're still waiting for him to get started on our house improvements.

It's getting hot here, I worked yesterday it was so hot that I thought I was going to past out. Bill and Ashley came to save me with ice cold water and cold rags for my head, thank goodess my work is only 5 minutes away from home.

We had a great 4th, in the county that we live in they have lots of fun things for the kids to do on the 4th. Turtle races, frog jumping contest, watermelon eating contest and more. This year Ashley wanted to enter the frog jumping contest, one problem, she did have a frog. We normally do have a lot of them jumping around but for some reason this year there has not been many jumper around. We did find a few floaters in the pool but pool life for a frog is not a good one.:( We did find one in a neighbors yard on the 3rd but the little guy was so small I did think he would make it till morning. I convinced Ashley to let him go so he could find food that night. Thank goodness I found one hopping in the driveway just minutes before we were to leave for the contest. He was also small but not as small as the first one. This one was about as big as your thumb nail. LOL
There were frogs of all sizes even one smaller than hers. Little Walt put on a good show, jumping 14 1/2 inches. He was no winner but he did the very best he could. We brought him back home and released him in the woods so he could growup for next years froggie jumping contest.
We spent the rest of our day swimming and eating chicken, and ribs from the grill, corn on the cob and home made brownies. YUMMY!!!! so much for my diet. LOL

Bill shot off the fireworks we bought at South of the Border last year while on our way home from Fla. a little reminder of our last cruise.
It was a sweet day.

Stay cool, girl - you and Andy (verandahman) with those outside jobs really need to be careful!!!

You better believe it, I drink 4-5 16oz. bottles of water during my work shift. It's going in the mid 90's today and tomorrow with high humidity, seems like we went from winter, right into summer this year, heater on one day, centarl air on the next!!!

WE are getting more rain - total of 14 inches already since Friday night - parts of Kokomo were evacuated by boat. The old Grissom AFB has a lot of water in it's housing area (now called "The Estates at Eagles Pointe"). Just one big flood plain.

Fortunately, Christopher dug a second ditch to divert the water from the fields behind our house and that keeps most of it away from our property. But it sure is coming down fast and furious again.

Glad we found out on Saturday that the house we were going to buy is an island when it rains. No way Jose! Not ready to start that ark yet!

Keep slugging down the H20, folks - gets you in good preparation for the heat of August in the Caribbean!

Hi Rae - Hope your rain has calmed down a bit. We had a lot in June and now we have really hot and humit weather. Are you still moving? Just wanted to tell you that I think the new picture of Michael on Red is great! My daughter, Tessa, is looking forward to meating Michael on the trip. She will be almost 7. Of course now she wants a horse. Not even a remote possiblility as we live in a Long Island town with not much of a back yard. Maybe one day!

rae519
07-09-2003, 02:59 PM
After seeing all the areas flooding, Carole, we decided we had a nice dry area and are staying PUT! Our horse is boarded 26 miles from here, where they have corrals, and 200 acres of trails to ride on. We aren't on our own just yet though, neither one of us is ready for that - but we are getting there, slow but sure!

I think Tessa is just a normal little girl - I had horse pictures all over my room, read all horse books, would sit for hours watching them in the fields, etc, etc. I never thought I'd ever own one but at 48, this is my second childhood beginning, so why not!!!!

NEWS NEW NEWS

Michael has always been interested in weather - started when he was about 2 and would watch the Weather Channel and babble about clouds. It never stopped and now at age 8, his bedroom is filled with weather pictures, lightening, tornados - he reads all kinds of weather books and had quite a collection. Well, he entered a contest to spend the day with Weatherman Kevin Gregory at a local TV station and WON!!!!!!! Now who do you think is more excited - me or him?! Toss up!!!!
He goes on July 24 and right now that is all he can talk about!!!!
Should be a fun time for all of us!

Rae, that's exciting news about Michael! Congrats! http://www.wdwinfo.com/sites/family/medal.gif

What a great picture of him on Red! He looks great sitting up there on that horse. Like he's been doing that for years!

Ginger & Andy, you both take care of yourselves! It's been so toasty here lately, please don't over do things! http://www.wdwinfo.com/sites/family/flame.gif

And I have some news too. My DD (13 1/2 months) is now standing up all by herself! She just sort of bends over, and pushes herself straight up! Won't be too much longer before she's taking her first step! It's so amazing watching her grow!

Oh wow! I hope Michael has a great day! I think the weather's really fascinating.

I just noticed your picture of Red-he's gorgeous! I am envious!

There's not much to report from here really, the weather's been really humid the last two days but hopefully we'll have rain tonight and it will break it. Only 2 more weeks of school left now, a bit less than that really.

We're almost into double figures for our cruise!

Red is more for me than him - sorry to say!!!! It's the second childhood thing coming out, Emma!!! I'm that frustrated little girl who always wanted a horse - read horse books, drew horse pictures, sat in the field for hours watching them, had horse pictures everywhere......and now I have one!!!!

Michael is a very good rider, better than I am right now! Until he starts school in August, I'll let him do all the riding and I'll just hang around. When he's in school, then I'll get my chance!!!!

I can't wait!!!!

Rain! Girlfriend, they have evacuated people in towns around here, closed off roads and properties are now underwater in many places!!!! That's the last word any of us want to hear!!!!!!!
We are high and dry though!!!

WEll I Made it through one week of being back at work! Yipee! And guess what! It wasn't too terribly bad! LOL I guess it is a combo of not being 9 months pregnant!, not knowing if I will get to keep my job for much longer and waking up to a smiling ADORABLE baby every morning! AH But I do miss him and the rest of my monsters!

Can anyone tell me what dining night Halloween falls on? I mean I know it is the last night of our cruise, but it is a reg, semi formal or formal night?

BTW I think I may have finally convinced my parents to go with us on our cruise! I have had Dana ( our TA at www.*********** ) add them to our ressie. I am now in dire search of airfare that is expensive instead of "gotta take a loan out" expensive ;) So if anyone knows where I can get a great deal on airfare from *** (colorado sprngs) to MCO, PLMK. Right now all I am finding is above $300 and some days $400! OUCH.......Think I can get a better fare if I wait it out? Or should I jump on the $300 + fare?

Rae, will DCL have a table to accomodate us all? I hope so, because I really have been looking forward to sitting with you, Michael and Mom

Today is CJ's 8th birthday

Hi Everyone! I hope you have all had a great weekend.

Dzneprincess-I am glad you made it through the first week back at work. My DS is 3 yo & somedays I can barely get out of the house.

We did a day trip yesterday. It was a lot of fun but we are all very tired. We went to the Tennessee Smoky Mtns. We left about 6 AM & drove to Pigeon Forge for breakfast & then drove to Gatlinburg & spent the rest of the day at Ober Gatlinburg & Ripley's Aquarium of the Smokies. We got home about 2 AM this morning. We did not actually make it to the National Park. We were within a few feet of the entrance. I love going to the National Park as well but we did not have enough time.

Nothing else going on here. I thought about applying for a promotion but, I decided I like the job I have now.

Have a good week.

BTW: did anyone know the answer to the question I ask about the murals in the luggage area?

dzneprincess
07-13-2003, 09:40 PM
thanks quackattack! I didn't think we'd make it, but we did!
We just g ot back from CJ's birthday night out! He picked a local Mexican restaurant and then we went bowling! Uhm GEE When DID bowling get soooooooooo expensive? I was in shock when I saw the prices at our local AMF lanes! We bowled 9 games, and rented 5 pairs of shoes. We had 3 free game coupons, so basically we paid ofr 6 games and the shoes..............$40.xx.......GEEZ LOUISE! LOL Can you tell I hadn't been bowling in awhile? When I was a kid, my parents took us bowling for cheap entertainment! Not anymore! I remember when shoes were a buck 50 to rent, and games were $1 to $2 ! That was not that long ago! But oh well, what is money, when you are making memories?????? LOL I just wish I had money that worked for me, instead of me working for money! LOL All in all my boy had a good birthday! I can't believe it has been 8 years since my 1st baby was born! He is such a sweet boy, I love him very much! :p

quackattack, all our vacation time is soent on something Disney, and I have never been to Gatlinburg, even though it id fairly close to us ( We live in GA), how did you enjoy your trip?

WE are always so in a rush we never do look at those murals - it's a busy, crowded time there but this next cruise we will try to look (August 2) and let you know.

Happy Birthday CJ!!!!!! Michael sends his best to you!

So you are back at work, girlfriend! I bet it's tough missing little Rae Jr. on you! Yes, with our reservations linked together, they will seat us together - don't worry!!!!!

It's been a hectic week for us - and thankfully the rains that have devistated most of Indiana didn't do much but have our creek run high for a day or so. Mom had water in her garage and her yard so she DUG a 25' trench - not bad for a 74 year old woman! It's those Polish/Russian genes!!!! Anyway, I gave her heck for doing it herself....she's one independent woman!

We are getting ready for the August 2 cruise - does anyone want anything - please let us know?!!! We are going West - hopefully!

I booked a week at OKW for Ashley's birthday in January hoping to find some good deals on park passes. We are going to take her to the New Dixie Stampede for her birthday dinner.
Rochelle you didn't visit DollyWood while you were in the Pigeon Forge area? I love going to Gatlinburg, my favorite place to go shopping. My DH is glad we don't live close by.

Happy Annie Rae!!!! another horse, WOW!!! Glad that Kira is back.
Happy B'Day CJ
Amanda that baby is growing so fast. He's a sweetheart. Since your folks are coming along will Nathaniel be joining you too?
One year we linked up with a large group and they had 13 of us sitting at 1 table.

Rumor has it that my favorite Dueling Piano Man, Fidelio, will be on the August 2 cruise........I am not going to tell Michael until it's verified!
Am I excited or what?!

Ohhhh, Michael rode Jynx on Monday and promptly bargained with me to keep her and I get Red back!!!! Jynx is smaller so it's actually for his benefit but who cares! Poohbear - at least he took the THINNER part of me in the picture!!!!!

Girl, I understand now why cowboys were thin - this horse stuff takes A LOT of work - my arms are aching from taking care of both the horses. Yes, Michael is helping but at 60 lbs and 4' nothing - it's hard for him to reach.

By the time I get them down from the stalls (individually), get them turned out in the corrals to get all the "energy" out, then groom them and saddle them, it's all I have to get up on "Jynx" and ride!!!! WHEW! But whose complaining - I will definitely get in better shape and have a great time doing it!!!!

Fidelio may or may not be on my next cruise (August 2) - we can only hope to see The Great One! And it's too late to change things now!

Evening everyone!

My DD Katie looks like she might be trying to take steps! Uh-oh! Twice today she was standing up, and we swear we saw a foot move somewhat! She's definately confident at standing. She's so proud of herself, she just stands there and claps. It's just the sweetest thing!

Looks like we're all ready for tropical night. Took some convincing, but my DH finally got a shirt with palm fronds on it. John's not one to stand out in a crowd, so no bright floral prints for him!

Haven't decided yet what to do about a costume for Katie for Halloween. I can sew pretty well, but I don't usually have the time for big projects. Especially when buying one is so much easier!

Goodness, I'm chatty tonight! :p

Tina - how wonderful about Katie! I remember those days when my children were little and each progress was cause for a big celebration!

There will be a large variety of "Marked down" costumes by the time we sail so take advantage of that if you aren't a seamstress!

I know right now there are great bargains for summerwear and water toys. If I could only take time from horseback riding to go shop, I might get some of them!!!!

My ultra conservative Mom surprised the heck out of me yesterday - this is the lovely lady you will all meet in October. The 74 year old who has been working on her roof and guttering, who dug the 25' trench to disperse the water we had, etc, etc....
Anyway, she's always Mrs Frills and Lace ----- she never gets anything "wild" or "Unusual" in the clothing department....
She bought sequined sneakers for the cruise!!!! I mean, they are just screaming "RAE! RAE! RAE!" but she loves them and I can't wait for you to see her in them!

Mom is a great person and a lot of fun - a bit shy but very friendly. To see her in these sneakers is a mild "Progress" report for me since I am always telling her to "liven up" her wardrobe with new colors and styles!!!!!!!!

Michael asked to have his horse Red back, so I'm back riding Jynx. That's just fine with me though!!!!! Jynx is older (11), smaller and easier for my ability. I will never be the rider Michael is - the kid just whips around the corral like he was on fire! The faster the better and that big gelding just loves him and does whatever he asks him to do. Talk about bonding!!!!

Still waiting to hear from Emma about my new knowledge of British food - considering I'm still working on the words!!!!

I've received a few requests from DISboarders regarding my upcoming cruise, but if anyone has anything else they'd like me to find out or get besides those who have already contacted me, please don't be afraid or shy to ask!!!!

I did breakdown and reserve 2 horses for us at Nicki's. Buckaroo's Dad raved about it last year and although our cruise diverted due to the Hurricane and we couldn't go, I really wanted to do this again. So Michael and I are set up. You all knew I'd break down, didn't you!!!! I'm such a softie!

If he wore a plain colored shirt he would stick out more;) The way to blend in on tropical night is to wear a tropical shirt.

On our Halloween Cruise last year I was Queen Snow White, Tom was the King (we are too old to pass for Princess and Prince so figure that 30 years after the movie they should be King and Queen) our table-mates (who are friends from our college years) dressed as Malificent from Sleeping Beauty and "An engineer on vacation" :) Phil does not DO Halloween. I usually don't but was talked into it by DH. What is nice about the Disney Cruise is that each can do as he or she chooses and no one minds as long as we are all polite about it.

Someone asked what night Halloween falls on. Last year they changed the schedule so that Halloween was Semiformal night. It was supposed to have been formal night, but they scheduled that for when semiformal night often is.

You just cannot tell what they will do. The best bet is to take some fairly flexible outfits, read the Navigator and decide on a day to day basis.

For Semiformal night I wore a knee length black lace dress for the theater show and the picture with the Captain and then changed to my costume, went back for another picture with the captain and stayed dressed for dinner and the judging.

I sure hope they do the judging in the theater so everyone can see this year. Last year they had us line up on deck 4 overlooking the atrium which would have been nice, but the railing was lined with people wanting to watch us descend the stairs and be introduced. People in line could not see those ahead of them and once we were introduced we had to stand in the atrium behind everyone who had been there all along, so it was disappointing. If they had everyone sit in the big theater, line up along the walls and come up on one side of the stage and go down the other it would go smoothly and everyone could see--those in costume and those just watching. But, no one asked me.....

Rochelle: What was your question about the murals in the luggage room??

Hey all, it's been a while again since I have posted, I'll try to update you quickly:

We went up to NY for a wedding over 4th of July weekend
When we got home, my DS and BIL moved down and we spent FRi and Sat of last week helping them get settled. In the meantime my other DS went into labor on Friday, but didnt start dialating until Saturday afternoon. I was in the delivery room with her and after 24 hours of labor and 2 hours of pushing she gave birth to a beautiful baby girl OLIVIA GRACE ROCCO!! What an amazing experience. It is WAY better when you are not the one in pain!!!:p Then yesterday my kids left for Kansas City to spend 2 weeks with their father. And on top of all of that I am battling morning sickness.:(

That's my quick wrap up!:p Besides that, I am counting down the days till we cruise together!;)

I hope everyone is in good health! And enjoying their summer.

BTW: Has anyone seen Pirates of the Carribbean? It was Great!

We saw PIRATES last weekend and thought it was great.

We were in Disneyland the day before and the day of the premier and saw them laying out the red carpet and preventing people from crossing Main Street anywhere except the doubly carpeted crosswalks. They did not present FANTASMIC, there was a HUGE screen set up on Tom Sawyer Island and the island was closed to guests. There were bleachers set up in New Orleans Square so traffic had to flow through limited areas and people were standing guard all over.

Many of the attractions in the Critter Country area were closing at 4:00 and the whole park was closing at 6 for the televising of the red carpet arrival of the stars. Guests were welcome to stay and be the "audience" for that however, but we had a plane to catch.

When we arrived in the morning we got buttons about it and we wore them to the theater when we saw the movie. The theater manager was VERY INTERESTED in them, but he cannot have them!

Off to see the Gary, Indiana Air Show,

Nope, it's Tom, my husband for the August cruise. Mom will be on the Halloween one and she is going to wear a costume!!!! It will be a blast!

We saw Pirates last night and of all the rides that he didn't like, it was the Pirate ride!!!!! But he loved the movie last night and now wants to "do the ride"!!!! Go figure!

I just LOVE Captain Jack Sparrow - he was a tremendous character!!!!!

Ohhhh, a pirate's life for me! Maybe Fidelio can sing that one for us at Dueling Pianos!!!

Peru is having their amateur circus parade today - next week is the Grissom Air Show......
I'll be at the stables with my horses!

Hi everyone! We are all very excited to be doing the double digit dance. I didn't thisnk that we would ever get past 100 days to go!

I see that some of you oout there saw Pirates. Is this movie okay for kids? Wondering if my kids would like it or be a little scared of it.

Hi Carole - boy, this is one of those questions that I really HATE to answer........but I will try. It is PG13 - yes, there are duels and the pirates are actually skeltons that could scare children.

Michael is 8 and we have been very LIBERAL with his viewing - nothing with foul language (boy, that's hard even on TV) and no sexual innuendos (again, hard!) but we have tried to get him to understand the difference between FAKE and REAL.
I am not saying that this always works, but we try hard!

Tom, Michael and I LOVED this movie - the Captain Jack Sparrow character was hysterical!!! It was interesting from the very start and kept our interest throughout the 2 1/2 hours!

So to answer the question - you know your child better than anyone else....can s/he handle dueling scenes? Skeletons?

Good luck.....raising kids is tough with all the decisions, but someone has to do it!!!

I am also going to step up and say GO SEE SEABISCUIT! Not only as a horse lover/owner, but I read the book and it was exceptional. The movie can only be better -

But don't blame me if you come out of there hearing, "Mom, I want a horse!"

Love ya's all!

Oh gosh, I've been meaning to post on here for ages, I just never quite got round to it.

Rae-I have never actually had bubble and squeek and I don't eat bangers and mash anymore because I'm vegetarian but I am most impressed by your knowledge on this subject!

I only have 2 more days left before I break up from school for the summer. It's actually only a day and a half which seems really pointless but I'm sure we'll have fun.

I didn't realise we were into double digits, usually my mum tells me how many days we have to go but we've obviously been slacking!

HI all! I will step up and say I really enjoyed POTC! I agree with Rae, the Jack Sparrow character was the greatest! LOL I took my kids to see it, and my 8 yr old CJ at 1st did not want to go see it. He thought it was going to be scary! ( This is the same kid that absolutely LOVED The Two Towers! Which I KNEW was way more scarier! ) SO I MADE him go see it. I know I'm a mean momma. But I knew he would love it. My other 2 really wanted to see it, my 7 yr old DD and 4 yr old DS, funny thing is they weren't scared at all! So we went, and of course my CJ (8 yr old) LOVED it! LAst night after I asked him if he was still mad at me for making him go see it, or if he was glad I amde him go see it! He said half and half! LOL Then this morning I asked him again, and he said he is really glad I made him go see it! KIDS! LOL Now, the other 2 were not scared, but apparently they were bored! THats right bored! LOL they fell asleep half way thru! I guess maybe the stroyline was a bit hard for them to follow, so it didn't really hold their interest. But, by no means were they scared. If your children have seen the previews, then they have been exposed to the most scariest thing, IMHO, and that was the skeletons. We quite enjoyed it, and even stayed til after the credits for the "surprise" ;)

I am sooooooooo ready to go cruisin now! LOL Rae, you lucky girl I wish I was coming with you on the August cruise:( But I do have a trip to Biloxi planned the last week of July, so at least I have some time away to look forward to.

Normally I would be getting ready to start another week at work. However, tonight I am enjoying an evening at home with my family. DH & I have Monday & Tuesday off. We are also off next Friday, Saturday & Sunday. It would be nice if every week were like this one.

I had not realized until yesterday that we are in the double digits. I am excited about that as well.

I hope everyone had a great weekend. It sounds as if everyone is very busy.

What surprise at the end? We stayed for the credits because I wanted to see where it was filmed and didn't get to see any surprise?!!!!!!!!!!! By the way, it was filmed on St. Vincent and ohhh, I forgot.....where else.....okay, it's the lack of caffeine showing now!

Yes, I just loved it and definitely thought Captain Jack was the greatest - I loved that little "swagger" he had - very funny!!!!

Hello all,
I was trying to get some of the paper work together and noticed that the copy of my birth citificate that I have dose not have a rased seal. will this cause a problem ? It is the the copy I receved when I needed a copy to get my Marrage licence. It looks a little warn but is is an oficial copy. I would rather be safe than sorry - Looking foward to smooth sailing !!

Get a raised seal birth certificate - even if it sounds like overkill - it is better to be safe than sorry.

I travel with raised seal birth certificates, drivers license and passport - that's the old "safe rather than sorry" attitude!

We're staying at the Radisson the night before. I reserved the 2 king bed, 1 bedroom suite for $109. Can't wait to get there.

We're still debating on whether to take the kids to see Pirates. I'm sure that my older daughter would be fine but I think that my younger one might be scared. They did see Sinbad and were'nt thrilled with it.

Hope the weather gets better for the weekend. We want to take the kids to the Sesame Place water park in PA. I think that my DH and myself are more excited than the kids!

Is that the 2 king suite? I am assuming it has a pull out sofa?

Zitofamily I'll need the same from you if your still interested.

I booked our Radisson stay way back when, I got a 2 king suite with the living room, refrig. and micro. for $119.+10% taxes. I guest I'd better call them back about it, $10. is $10..

Got to go for now, I'll get back on again as soon as my computer lets me.

I hope I am not double posting but my first post went away

Hope everyone is well :)

Ginger did I give you our stateroom numbers a few months ago or did I not? I can not remember. I am cruising with my 2 and 5 year old DS's, DM, DF, MIL and 2 Sisters. We have 2102 & 2103 and then a Category 11 on Deck 5 but I have to look up the #. We will be part of the T & T. I think I have the boys talked into the Captain Hook and Peter Pan but they got the new Disney catalog and want to be Nemo and Bruce.

If you all have seen the catalog and Nemo costumes you will understand and there I was trying to explain to a 5 year old why that HUGE fish costume won't fit in the suitcases

I also booked the Radisson for $99 a few months back when we started this thread with the Floribbean rate.

I am packing up our house ready for the move and getting ready to drive my parents crazy for 2 1/2 months living with them until the new house is ready. The Builder told me it would be ready October 28 and I said oh no I will be on the Magic :p

Can't wait to meet you all and go. My DH was actually able to take leave before he leaves again on the 27th and we went on a 7 day CCL cruise. It was nice to get away and visit 4 ports but NOTHING like the DCL which beats all of the others hands down. Even my DH conceded to the fact that DCL is soooooooo much better than the others.

Hi everyone! These boards are moving verrrrry slow tonight. Must just be a zillion people here I guess!

Tiff, I had to look up the Bruce costume. It would need a whole suitcase to itself! Good luck with your move!

Ginger, we'll participate in T&T as well. We're in cabin 6130. Haven't figured out what Katie's gonna be. We'll play that one by ear. I'm planning on bringing a costume for her, but if she gets too scared, we'll skip making her wear it.

We're going to stay at the Hyatt Airport the night before the cruise since we're flying in so late. Figured that'll be easier on the baby. DH's parents are going to pick us on Saturday morning, and then a-sailin' we will go! :p

Has anyone talked Andy into joining us yet on the 10/25/03 Magic?

I can just see it now........we will be eating the wonderful dembarkation buffet and peeling boiled shrimp like crazy and then all of a sudden it will get quiet and the Atrium Announcer will announce not just Rae's family name but to hold on to YOUR SHRIMP SHE IS ON BOARD :p :p :p :p

Ok just teasing, I don't know if it is the stress of the move and starting my 5 year old DS in Kindergarten but I am getting excited about the 10/25 Magic. Maybe it was sailing on Carnival that made me value the good things in life :o

Oh well, I am excited and the boys are also. My 2 year old DS is always excited. I already know I will be taking him up to the basket courts and running him silly.

I did decide on my CCL cruise that stopped in Grand Cayman that the sting rays are not for me :).............those things tried to marry me if you know what I mean or better yet milk the cow with out buying me first. I don't think I can contain my composure for my sons since I could not do it with out them.............we will be hitting 7 mile beach instead

Poohbush, the Bruce and Nemo costumes are HUGE aren't they? I am still negotiating that one:rolleyes:

VERANDA MAN!! Can you put a link on here for that thread so we can find it even when and if it slips off page one?

Tiff: would the Bruce and Nemo costumes smash down small? Could you pack them in a ziplock and squeeze all the air out before ou seal the zip? I have not seen them in person, so am just thinking out loud.

Poohbush: When we did T or T last year, it was in the late morning so it was "daylight". Everyone gathered in the Atrium so the kids could all see each other's costumes, show them off to the adults and get some photos taken. Then those of us who were only on the giving end went to our rooms to wait for the onslaught. There was only one kiddo who did not participate. He was a 2 year old who thought his costume was too much clothing and tried to take it off. BUT--your sensitivity to your DD is admirable!! What a wonderful Mommy you are!

I still wish we had discussed what we were wearing to the adult judging as I think we might have gotten some prizes if we had coordinated into groups. We had a family who dressed as three dwarfs. DH and I were Queen Snow White and the King. We should have had the dwarfs with us, but since everyone was trying to surprise each other, we did not know until later that they had done that theme.

You will all have a ball!

Hi Jan,

This statue was at King Herod's castle near the Mediterranean Sea in Caesarea, if my memory serves me correct. It was a 10day trip back in October 1999. It was an AWESOME pilgrimage. I don't know if I would do it now though, I'm glad our church went when we did.

My photos were a little out of order, it was one of the first times I loaded photos into my Webshots albums.

The cake was at a Reunion Party we Riders of the Camels had a few months after our pilgrimage. The party was for everyone to exchange photos and watch videos of the great time we had. The photo of the Sunrise over the Sea of Galilee was taken from my hotel room on the first morning. It was breathtaking!!!

One of our pastors made the logo for our group, then he gave it to me and I made all the Riders of the Camels t-shirts, sweatshirts, etc. We had 43 people in our group, I was quite busy for several weeks before the trip. I even had to go out and buy my wife a new iron when I finally finished. I made everything with the iron on transfers. I even had to take a couple extra vacation days, just to get everything finished on time.

Jan, thanks for the "wonderful Mommy" comment! :) You made me blush!

Still trying to figure out what excursions we'll do. I really would like to do Stingray City, but my DH doesn't swim very well (at all, actually!) I know some days the water waves are rougher than others, and I don't want him to get on the boat, then be afraid to go into the water. (He'd kill me if he knew I was telling you all this!) Some people say the water is only chest deep, other people say that you have a short swim from the boat to get to the sandbar where the rays are. I don't think DH could even handle a "short swim." We'll figure somethin out I'm sure.

Hope everyone enjoys the rest of their Sunday!

POOHBUSH: We did not go to Stingray City but on the excursions we did go on, we were given life vests to wear, required by Disney. We are very buoyant so squeeze ALL the air out and close the valve. But if DH is concerned, he can blow up his vest as MOST PEOPLE DO and wear it. Then he could "swim" if he had to and would feel safe even if he could stand throughout.

I bet it depends on where your boat can anchor as to whether you have to swim or not to the sandbar.

Anyone done this excursion with Disney? Did they give vests?

EMMA: Have a good time at your Nan's.

Michael loved WeatherCamp - he was one of the happiest children I have ever seen - just in his glory as he was able to answer many of the questions posed to him about the cloud formations, etc. He was even on TV!!!! But nothing mattered to him as much as being able to talk "tornados" with the meteorologist!

Yes, my piano playing horsebackriding future meteorologist is still coming down off his cloud but by Saturday when we hit the Magic - I know it's back on Cloud Nine with Fidelio at Dueling Pianos!!!!

Jan, I will let you know the details of the cruise - just hope you and Tom can come!!!!!!

We did the stingray city excursion with Disney and LOVED it!!! They do give you life vests. And when you stepped off the boat, the water was just under my chest and I am 5'4".. We plan on doing that excursion again, however, I think we are going to try captain Marvin.

Thanks to everyone with their input about Stingray City. It's good to know about the lifevests. Even if no one else wears them, I'll wear one with my DH, just to make him feel comfortable.

Gosh, we're under 90 days! Can't wait! Can't wait!

I think my sweet Katie will be a ladybug! We call her Katie Bug, anyways, so that'll be very appropriate. I found a really cute costume, for under $20, online. I'll have to find a black turtleneck, which might be a tad difficult. Not too many black colored clothes for infants out there.

Rae, glad Michael was in weather heaven! I'm fascinated by tornadoes too! He sounds like such a bright child! What a joy!

RAE: Please ask Michael what the name is for lightening that stays in the cloud. I know there is a special name for it. The kind that makes the cloud light up from the inside but does not make connection to another cloud or to the earth.

POOHBUSH: The tour boat captains tell all the Disney guests that they are REQUIRED to wear the life vests on excursions. Disney's rules. I have never seen anyone on a Disney excurison who did not wear it. I think the excursion captains could lose the business with Disney if anyone reported that they were lax about it. So you and your DH will probably be two among many in vests.

Depending on the weather, KATIE BUG might not need any black arms and legs to wear under her costume. October can be pretty warm. But the ship can be pretty air conditioned. No matter what you find, I am sure she will look ADORABLE.

GINGER: Have you got costumes figured out?

DENA: Let us know what you think of Captain Marvin and whether he goes to the same place as the Disney excursion or somewhere else.

Have a super day all,
Jan :earsgirl:

Poohbush - Try the Gap for a black turtleneck for infants. They usual do carry black items for young kids. I know that I have bought some in the past and I think that they are starting to put out fall items now.

Welcome DVCLady

Happy Anniversary Rae and Tom also glad to read the Michael did so well.

Jan right now my life is just a bit to confussing to even think about a Halloween Costume for myself but I will have to start working on Ashley's real soon or it won't get done. She wants to be a vampire, why, I don't know.

I started my cruise diet about 2 weeks ago so far I've lost 12lbs. I've been working almost every day so it's been easy to stay on it, but the days I'm off I go crazy.

Ya'll have a nice day, hear!

Hi All-

Happy Anniversary. Little Rae is not the only one jealous about missing this Saturday'a Magic. I am a grown adult and I am upset too :( But have a great time. Give us all of the great scoop when you return!

My DH and I just did a 7 day CCL cruise and went to GC. We did the Sting Ray City thru Nativeway Water Sports. Only $25 per person. Children under I think 6 are free, water and punch provided. There is also a nominal charge for those want to ride but not go in the water. The had a VERY nice boat and intimate group. We had a group of about 14. Those CCL ship excursions had over 100 people on them and are table mates told me all you could see was people in the way. I would definatley go with the private companies, i.e. Nativeway or Captain Marvins over the ship.

I consider myself water friendly and pretty brave but I have to admit to you guys the rays weirded me out. I got in the water which is BEAUTUFUL. The boat ride takes about 20 minutes and it looks as if you are headed to no where and all of a sudden there is a sandbar and the water is pretty shallow and clear blue to the bottom. The boats from different companies form a huge circle and people get off and swim with the rays. You have to be careful not to step on one as it can sting you but it is unlikely.

I got off the boat and this one ray decided I was marriage material and was bound and determined to "marry me". My name is now Tiffiny Stingray ;) anyway I would do it again but just be prepared that it is freaky............the waters and experience can not be beat though.

I think in October I will grab one of the vans and take my boys (2 and 5) to 7 mile beach. I think I would scare them more than the rays if I took them on the trip I just did

Anyhoo, can't wait to meet you all and go. It is getting closer.

I forgot to ask you all something. I took some of your advice and went to a children's resale shop for my 5 year old DS. I was looking for something for formal night. I already found a great button down short sleeve Polo short and blue blazer with khacki's for semi formal.

Well, they had a Seer Sucker (? spelling) suit. It is light blue and white stripes and double breasted with white buttons and lined. It is perfect and a size 6. It looks as if it were hand made for someone. I had to get it and thought well at least my DH is not going on the cruise and can't complain and my parents and MIL will love it. When else can you get away with a seer sucker suit, you either have to be 5 or 65 :p

I can not decide if he looks like Don Johnson from Miami Vice or an Attorney from one of John Grishom's novels:rolleyes:

Anyhoo, what nights will our semi formal and formal nights be? I just looked and Halloween falls on our CCay day???

Thanks!

Mrs Tiffiny Stingray, Thanks for the great info! I'm very excited about this excursion, but hope I'm not too weirded out by it! I think your DS will look just precious in his little suit.

Ginger, hooray for you for sticking to your diet! I know you must be proud! Keep up the great work! :bounce:

Carole88, thanks for the info about the Gap. I looked on their website, and it's still just summer stuff. We have lots of time to go though. I'll keep looking.

Jan, thank you too for the info on the stingrays!

Ginger - I found out that taking care of these two horses has helped me immensely - not so much in pounds but in inches....talk about getting firm legs and butt!!! Whew! Congrats on sticking with your program. We are all proud of you!

Poohbush - you are with us and believe me, even when I miss a day, it's like I'm rushing to read all the news!!!!!!!

We have been experiencing a very frustrating couple days. :(
Our server was down all Wednesday afternoon. DH works from home and uses the internet so that was difficult for him. I was on the road seeing my homecare patients, so I did not know about it until that evening when there was no new e-mail. :(
All day Thursday we got no personal e-mail. We could send, but not receive. Spam trickled in, one every hour or so.
When I call they say that when they were working on the server the que of e-mails built up and that they will make it through eventually.
What seems to have happened is that the personal e-mails are bumped back to people with a message that the address has permanent fatal errors  Several friends called me to see if we had changed our address!!
And the spam seems to be coming through just fine--one or two each hour................ :(
I wish I had thought to post this here before Rae left.
Have a wonderful day and weekend,
Jan :earsgirl:

Have a lovely time Rae! And next time I have to do research about lightning and such like for physics, may I borrow Michael?!

I don't think the stingray excursion would be a very good one for me seeing as I'm scared of even goldfish but it's probably a great experience if you're not! I want to go horse riding in Grand Cayman but I don't think I'll be able to because I think we'll be hiring a car again. Nevermind, can't have it all!

I was considering actually being Rose Greenthumb for Halloween, Jan was helping me with ideas a while ago. I think I tried to email you a few months back to thank you for my birthday present and had problems.

I can hardly wait for our cruise now, my mum and I keep talking about it and getting ever so excited. It hardly seems 40 weeks since I was last there at all.

EMMA: What are you going to do for Halloween?
When you hire a car where do you go? Does your Dad drive or do you take a taxi with a driver?
Whenever an e-mail does not work, blame my server and try again. or PM me through the DIS.

We are going to a wedding this afternoon of friends of DS#2. We know the bride, groom and their parents--all from Ted's (DS32) church.
Tomorrow for our anniversary we are going to St. Louis to a musical. We will camp overnight and drive home Monday. Our anniversary is today but we could not get good seats for today's show. Later we found out that if we had, it would have conflicted with the wedding, so that was good.

I am off to mow the lawn.
Have a good day

Carole88, I noticed you were inquiring about the stingray excursion on a different thread. I think me & DH are going to do the 7:20am Island Tour & Snorkeling with Stingrays thru DCL. Seems awfully early, but maybe there will be less people. ;)

Thanks for the Anniversary greetings!
Sunday we drove to St. Louis to see "Crazy for You" a musical at the Muny--Municipal Opera--that is on part of the property that was the "Meet me in St. Louis" Fair. We stayed in our camper at a campground run by a casino. We did not waste any money there, but used their shuttle to get to the transit-train to go to dinner at a swanky restaurant and then on to the musical. Tom had a great steak and I got shrimp but they were too spicy :( I am just a McDonalds girl at heart.
This morning we drove north along the Mississippi River then west to our highway and home. Got home about 9. Motorhome is emptied of all but the permanent items, dinner is done, laundry is started, dishes are in the dishwasher and after sending a couple trip reports, I will hit the showers.

CAROLE88--where do you live on LI? We lived in Kingspark from 1770-1972. My freshman roommate from Russell Sage College lives on the south shore.

It's been a while since I've posted again. I had to read two pages to catch up. I guess Rae is on the magic now BOO-HOO:(

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY JAN!

Friday was my 35th birthday and we spent it at the VB resort. All I did was sit by the pool. It was wonderful!!

POOHBUSH: We did the early stingray and island tour excursion last year. It was perfect, because your finished by lunchtime. And the good thing about it is you put your clocks back one hour the night before! So when your getting up at 6:30-7:00 your body thinks is 7:30-8:00.

Well, I am off to finish my final project for my summer class. Then I will be finished with the class. YEA!!

Congrats on being done with the class. What did you take? (If you told the group before, it must be on one of the pages I skipped.)

POOHBUSH: We did an early snorkeling excursion too, but not that one. We were done in time to shower, put on dry clothes, eat on the ship (which is free) and take the tender boat back in for an afternoon of walking around the town. The people who did the same excursion in the afternoon felt like they never saw the island as they slept late, and stayed on the ship until after lunch, went on the excursion and had to come back for dinner and departure.

I am always glad when someone gets an upgrade. What saddens me is when people think that if they complain about something they will get an upgrade. If something is unsafe or not what was promised, yes, reporting it is appropriate. But when I read some of the posts on the DIS it seems like people are looking for something to complain about and then if they don't get a free upgrade they complain about that.

Wecome home Rae, how was it?

DP, thanks for missing me, I've been working my butt off. I've only had Sundays off and I really haven't had that day off because of the house work that builds up all work. But it is soon coming to an end, construction of the new addition is underway and soon the upper half and the back half of the house will be gone. Ha! Ha! I sure won't have to worry about cleaning that part. We'll be living in 1 bedroom, 1 bathroom and the livingroom for the next couple of months. We went to see the kitchen designer last night and I now have the kitchen layout on paper. I can't wait to finally get it all finished. We've been working with our contractor planning this since last Aug, now it's finally coming true.

Hey update on my weight lose, 17 lbs. We are going to Ohio next week I sure hope I can stay on it. Maybe I'll be able to keep it off this time since I am working outside of our home. Along walk to the refrig. LOL

Well back to my packing, everthing has to be removed from the house that isn't needed for now.
If I don't get back on for awhile it's because my DH disconnected my computer and packed it away. He's been trying to do that for years now. LOL !!! I've been begging for it to stay let's hope I win.

I'm back!

Please take time to read my trip reports then feel free to ask me all the questions you want!

I'd like to organize a DIS golfing match at Sally's at Cozumel - it was great fun there and we can have a blast!!

Also, fellow equestians - Nicki's was fabulous! Anyone besides us able to ride and want to go for a great time - let me know so I can plan something for us!

Hey, lots of great stuff to do - I have so much to fill you all in on but first read the cruise reports then ask questions.....

I will say this - August is tooooooo hot for us and we won't cruise south again in the summer. 110 in the shade!

Fidelio rocks!!!!
And yes, I videotaped Michael playing and a duet that Michael played with Fidelio - the man is the greatest!!!!!

Would love to say it's good to be home but would rather say 75 days left.......

And don't anyone mention shrimp to me...I not only ate my fill, but Andy's as well.....burp!

(Did she read our discussion of her likelihood of staying on the ship for another cruise before she wrote that?? Or do we just KNOW HER WELL?)

Jan, thanks for the links. Sure made reading them alot easier than searching for them!

Rae, I loved the story about Michael (Tiger Jr.) beating you & Tom at mini-golf! He must have been on Cloud 9.

Ginger, it sounds like you're just shrinking away! What's your goal? Keep up the good work, but please be careful.

Happy Anniversary Rochelle!

Rae read your trip report sounds like you all had a great time, so glad. Now I really can't wait for our cruise. BTW- the temps. in the fall are not as bad as in the summer months.

Poohbush thank you for your concern, I'll be fine I have the help of a doctor. I would like to take off 18 more pounds before our cruising time.

Still looking for Trick-or-Treaters.

Found out today that Michael has a severe allergy to dust mites - so you know the routine - no carpeting, stuffed animals, etc, etc....don't even ask me how sweaty I am from trying to "do it all" in a day!!!!

At least we now know what the problem is and can remedy it!

Would rather be on the boat watching the sunset that tearing up carpeting.....

I was wondering what happened to you. Poor kid, we had to remove Angelina's stuffies out of her room when she was younger as well. I bet you are one tired momma tonight!!!

Welcome Wendy and family - as soon as I get myself together I will get a new list compiled so you can "meet" the cruisers.

Also, we are having a "meet and greet" at the Promenade Lounge after the Safey Drill and before the Sail Away Party.

Please try to meet us there and if you can wear a name tag - that would help or just keep introducing yourself to everyone like I do!!!!!!!

I wrote out a trip report for each day of my last Western Cruise, if you read it and have any questions - just ask!

Gang, I will again be in my lime green shirt and lime green baseball hat - forgive me if I can't remember names......I have that old age disease called "CRS"!

Hello Everyone and Welcome Wendy and Family.

Rae: Thanks for the trip report. Sounds as if you had a great time. I cannot wait until it is our turn. I have looked forward to it all year. Add one more person to our cruise list. My niece, Alissa (18 yo) will be joining us.

I have finished my cruise shopping but I still need to pick up a few things for DH and DS.

DS is very excited about getting back to the "club". He had a great time last Halloween. This year he will be old enough to go to the club without Mom and Dad if he wants.

I have lots of errands this weekend since I failed to do any last weekend. I guess I had best get away from the computer if I expect to get anything done.

I don't know if I want to Trick or Treat or not. I do want to because it's so much fun but I think I'll feel a bit of an idiot if I'm the oldest one joining in.

Oh and Welcome aboard!

Emma - you could do what I'm doing this year, although I can't be on a cruise:( My friend Patricia and I are dressing up as Pirates:teeth: and we're going to be the ones handing out the candy while her mom sister and brother go trick or treating...sounds fun, huh??? So I guess you could still dress up and be the one to hand out the candy (or cute little toys like last year) out...that would be fun! Maybe you'll meet Sean Biggerstaff some where and he'll come to help you!!! If that happens you MUST take pictures for me!

Now that's an idea but then I don't get the goodies myself! I want to be Rose Greenthumb the hobbit but I don't know how easy it'll be. I'll have to read through the emails from Jan about it and see. And you have my word that should Sean Biggerstaff turn up, I shall try and send him to you through the post!
