Hi All, Home from work today, well so far the phone hasn't rang. It's been hard getting the mail delivered with all the snow mounted up and people don't know that they have to move it so we can get to their mailboxes. I've been working 12 hours days, shoooo!!!! I'm tired.

Last year we all wore our tee-shirt to the terminal, people kept asking, Where did you get that shirt? HA! HA!

I can't remember when the kids club did their farewell play.
Trick-orTreat, we could do that anyday or evening.

Is it to early to start talking about excursions. What's everyone thinking about doing at Key West?
Last year we rented an electric car and cruised the city. Our DD took in about 2 hours of it and decided she could have a much better time aboard the ship. After taking her back to the ship DH and I stopped by the Blond Giraffe for a Keylime Pie-Pop, YUMMY!!!!! I got in a little shopping while he took in some unusual street sites.

I want to see Key West!!! Definitely - maybe Mallory Square at sunset - definitely the aquarium! Not sure what else.

Horseback riding at Grand Cayman is in!
Cozumel mini golf also! And I heard Carlos and Charlies is a great place to have a snack and drink!

It's never too early to think of the excursions, Ginger - just like it's never too early to plan a cruise!

I'm now doing Richard Simmons Latino Dancing - as Kayla used to tell me, "Mommy, you white women have no rhythm! It just must be a black thing!" Well, she definitely had my number on that one. I can't keep it all going in the same direction all at once - one - two - cha cha cha!

Rae you make me laugh. I've started hitting the gym again, I've been so bad since the last cruise, gained 10 lbs on the cruise and much more since. I've started my reducing plan today with hopes to get it all off by summer.
We rented a jeep at GC I had to go to "Hell". We may do it again this year. Horseback riding sounds like fun. Mr. Sancho while at Cozumel was great fun for DH and I. Ashley stayed on the ship. She really loves the kids clubs.

My mum was telling me about the horse riding in Grand Cayman yesterday. It does sound like a lot of fun.

We had modular science exams today-oh what fun! They weren't that bad actually, so I'm just going to forget about them until I get my results.

We still have no teacher in english. We've started 3 different pieces of coursework and none of them are finished. Nobody knows when we're going to get a teacher and if we're getting our other teacher back we know that the last 3 months of what work we have done probably won't even count.

Now Ginger - you have rhythm, don't you?! After all you are a postal worker - you have to be multitalented - rain, sleet, snow and dark of night....so on!!! Girl, I wouldn't have your job for love nor money! Too many crazies out there - for example, I have a HORRIBLE fear (for lack of better word) of opening my mailbox.
Well, it comes from opening it and finding a dead oppossum in it, but the tail came out first and touched my hand and I thought it was a SNAKE and besides peeing my pants, I screamed bloody murder!

I don't do snakes.

Obviously!

Things like snakes don't upset me to much, we have them around my house. I just move them along and keep on going myself. Now Rae, it's the big fury spiders that crawl up my leg that gets to me. Did you read about me and the Tarantula on Anguilla. You could hear me for miles.

I have a few of those Richard Simmons type. My favorite one is Disco Sweat. I loved the Disco era, I hit it in the late 70's. When I was a young, skinny, wild thing, drivin' all the old men crazy. HA!HA! I was one of the first in Maryland to have a Fire Engine Red Mazda RX7. Yes, Yes, I was a HOTTIE!!!!! or I thought I was. Ha! Ha! Take me back.

Yes, tell us the story, Ginger!!!
Hey, we were all "Hotties" at least once in our minds!!! Yup, the "good old days".....I was debating between Latino and Disco with Richard. I think I might try Disco next time - I certainly don't have the latin beat.

Emma - I remember having 3 teachers for my first year of Chemistry and to this day, and three Chemistry courses later, I still HATE it. Science was my strong subject, but English is my first and only real love! It's amazing how schools deal with this type of disruption, it's counterproductive.

I don't have time to tell the story but I will bring the trip report up for those who want to can read about our trip to Anguilla. We will be going there next year while on our Halloween cruise.

Ashley and I are doing that Richard Simmons Disco Sweat type. HEE!!!! HEE!!!

My best friend (whom I call my brother) lives in Lusby, MD - down by Lexington Park. It's a beautiful area, so many horses!! Haven't been there in a while but plan to take a trip down this summer to visit the gravesite of another friend who died in 2001. He's in Arlington National Cemetery.

Maybe we can plan something if you are close by either of those places. My map doesn't show counties so I'm lost when you mention it!

If there are others interested in riding at Grand Cayman, maybe we can get a group together and have our reservations in for it!

Michael and I are in! Mom definitely out, she'd rather stay in the Rainforest!!!

We are close to Pa. Look for Bel Air, Md on your map. We are minutes from there. Lusby must be close to Washington, DC.

I bumped up my trip report about the spider. Looking for Best Vacation ever Part 2. on trip report board.

From GINGER'S TRIP REPORTTuesday we got up early and headed to Topsiders for a good breakfast, we were meeting TommyJoe's and Pryd's families on deck 1 at 8 a.m. to leave on our adventure to Anguilla. We all boarded the water taxi to go to St. Maarten, $5 per adults for unlimited rides for the day, kids are free. Once in town we negotiated the fare of a cab to take us all to Marigot, $5. per adult and $2 for each child. It was about a 20 minute ride. We had to sign up for the ferry and show photo ID and proof of citizenship, Passport or Birth Certificate also pay a $2 departure tax. While we were waiting to board the ferry we met a man named Mel who had a taxi service on Anguilla. He said he had a van large and could to take us all to Shoal Bay Beach East and gave us a good price $60. round trip for all of us. He even gave us his little tour of the island for free. Once at the beach he suggested we return to St. Martin on the 3p.m. ferry because it was an open air boat. We went over on a closed boat and a few of us felt a little sea sick. We agreed and told him to pick us up at 2:30.
Shoal Bay Beach East was breath taking, the pristine beach and clear blue water, WOW, practically deserted. This has got to be the closet place on earth there is to heaven, unbelievable and perfect in every way. Well, almost everyway, there were a couple of things there I could do without. We staked out our spot on the beach, 2 large canopy covered areas together with beach lounges. We met a really super nice guy there who owned a glass bottom boat, his name is Junior. I recognized him from his picture which I saw on Bob Green's site www.anguillanews.com, Junior has an ad for fishing, glass bottom boat rides, snorkling excursions and much more. I started talking to him and asking him about his boat and the cost for a tour of the ocean floor. He gave me a price of $20 for adults and $10 for children I said we'd have to think about it. I thought that was a bit expensive. He offered us the use of his snorkling equipment for free and was very friendly with our children. Just an all around nice guy.
I was sitting in a lounge when DH asked me to help him put on sunscreen, while I was busy helping I felt something crawling up my leg when I looked down to see what it was I got the surprise of my life it was a BIG HAIRY SPIDER ,but hey not just any old spider it was a TARANTULA. Yes, that was me you heard screaming while I kicked my legs in the air. I'm sure I was one funny site. When the tarantula got off my legs and I finally calmed down I started looking around to see where it went. DH found the big hairy beast and picked it up with my flip flop and started walking over to a grassy area to release it when he found himself stepping on thorns growing in the grass. OUCH!!! Junior came over to see what had happened and to try to stop my DH from going in farther in to the thorn grass. He told me that the tarantula was harmless and he would not bite me. Yeah, right Junior. After we pulled the thorns out of DH feet everything went wonderful. We did get a ride on Juniors boat but for a much better price than he first told me. He took us out for over 30 minutes and showed us the coral reefs and beautiful fish. Our day on the beach at Anguilla was much to short and had come to an end. It was a little after 2:00 and Mel was back to take us to meet the 3 p.m. ferry to St. Martin. I forgot to tell that the food was somewhat costly, but they did offer Lobster. The beer was only $2.. What a great place and we can't wait to return and we will someday.

Oh Wow!!!!! Jan thanks for bring my big spider story forward. Well folks that was a wonderful trip to Anguilla, and we can't wait to go back. The beaches on Anguilla are absolutely breath taken. It is a must do while visiting St. Maarten. The Halloween cruise will be going to the Eastern Caribbean next year. YAHOO!!!! we'll be going back to see my fury freind.

AGGGGGGGGHHHHH!

What a story, Ginger!!!!

So you are going back for this?! NO WAY, JOSE!

And if I ever see a snake anywhere - I'm back on the ship via pixie dust!

Just received two inches of SURPRISE snow on the ground - so much for our weather report of cloudy, no precipitation!

Off to take care of the annual school fund raiser - bye!

Yeap! we're going back there. Spiders or snake would not keep me away. You've got to go Rae, I'm telling you you would love it.

Before you run off don't forget to clear the snow away from your mailbox so your postal person can get to it. HA!HA!

Hey, I want that mail so I'll make sure to keep it clean, smile, donate to the annual food drive and keep giving great Christmas presents!!!!

Gotta love your postal service worker!!!
(Obviously, I get my bills on line!!!!!!!)

Ginger, if we ever get on an Eastern - I'll go but with you! Where there are spiders, there are snakes.

Spiders and snkes and snails "oh my".....what are you calls talking about? I HATE snakes, I can kill a spikder or bug anyday but any reptile I am running for the hills. One time on the ship ask me about the "alligator lizard" getting into my house when we lived in San Diego :(................babies sick again, I guess the 1st round of antibiotics did not work, he screamed all night off to the naval hospital again. I will try and check by in on you crazy ladies this weekend.

Any what is this about postal workers? My is a hoot, I live in a small town in NC and our postal drivers drive cars equipped for right seat driving well my driver "Kay" shows up when she wants, some days we get mail some days no one in the subdivision gets mail and those days we Kay must have had a long lunch (wink, wink)..........sweet as can be just not predictable :)

TIFF: You may have to back track a couple pages to make all this make sense.
Ginger used to do child care in her home, but since she is having renovations done, she stopped that and got back to a job delivering the mail. In her area she has to provide her own vehicle so they now have a driveway that looks like an SUV dealer as they own a couple.
She encountered a tarantula (see what I quoted from "Ginger's Trip Report" 6 entries back) when on the Eastern MAGIC cruise in 2001 on a small island near St. Martin.
Rae had been commenting that snakes are the thing that bothers her the most and told about an opossum that was in her mailbox and when she opened it the tail hit her hand and scared her.
Having a sick baby and trying to get rest yourself means you miss a lot of the nuttiness on this thread. These ladies are great fun.
TELL US ABOUT THE ALLIGATOR LIZARD!!

We got 8 inches of snow Tuesday night. They canceled school and did not plow the city roads in Gary, Indiana (as in the song in the "Music Man") which is where my three patients of the day live, so I rescheduled them for Friday and stayed home yesterday. Our roads looked fine, but why mess with it?

Hoping Baby is better today and that this time the MDs get the right Rx. Sometimes one cycle of medicine is just not enough to kill the buggies. Poor little one. Poor Mommy.

Thanks for catching me up, I needed help. Even the nurses at the Doctors commented I was giddy and I told them I had little sleep in 2 weeks and was surviving on DP. Now he has infection in both ears, no wonder he is screaming.

Once I can spell my name I will tell my alligator lizard story but I am sure my DH would love to tell it as he teases me all of the time but I swear that thing was huge and hissing and I called in the Marines to evacuate it :p

)You guys are too funny!!! I have to agree with Ginger on the whole snake/spider issue. I cant stand spiders!!!! They just freak me out. As far as snakes go, I am used to them because they are always in my yard. Although, its not like I want them in my house or anything.:p

My DH and I went to St. Maarten 10 years ago for a week and absolutely loved it. We also took an ferry to Anguilla. We kept saying "one day we will go back". So now we will get there next Halloween. :D Hopefully the secret porthole rooms will be all fixed by then.

TIFF: Sorry to hear about the sickness in your family again. Just remeber "This too shall pass".

JAN: Sorry to hear about your snow:) Yesterday, we hit a high of 91!! Can you believe that?!?! It's only March. But what a beautiful day. Then by the evening it was down in the high sixties. Unfortunately for some, pnemonia (I don't know if that is spelled right:D ) is running rampant. I pray it doesn't come my way.

Have a wonderful day everyone.

Spiders are fine until they start to move! All those legs-they're just so horrid! We don't really have the snake problem here but when my mum and I did the riding in Cozumel, there was a huge snake on the ground! I thought it was all rather exciting!

JLSE50
03-06-2003, 04:48 PM
TIFF: You were surviving on "DP"??
I am reminded that sleep deprivation can be considered enough of a torture that prisoners will tell what they know.....
YOU MUST TELL US THE ALLIGATOR STORY or get your DH to type it in here for us!! :) How WONDERFUL to have Marines nearby to take care of it!

DENA: :p 91 degrees!! OH, can I come??? :p Sounds idylic.
It is above freezing here today so snow is melting fast. But it is still in the yard.
I wore boots today, but mostly because they go better with black tights than sneakers do....
What is going on with the secret porthole rooms?

EMMA: I did not hear about that snake before that I remember. Being on a horse is a nice distance if it was a dangerous snake....unless the horse rears up and dumps you on the ground...:(

My biggest problem with any critter is if it startles me. Once I am over the "startle" I am OK. When I was a preteen, I used to bug the boys by wanting to see the lizards and snakes they found when we were at camp rather than being scared of them. Not sure it was a good tactic, never got me any dates, but I had to be true to myself and I thought they were interesting. Why would I scream and run if I really wanted to see it up close

Have a good day all,
Jan :earsgirl:

Thank You Jan for keeping us all straight here. Are you sure you can't come on this cruise, we'll need some one to keep us together. LOL
We had rain today, then it cleared up the temps. dropped now I see that it is snowing. I have really had enough of this winter.
Dena can we please have some of your warm temps.

TIFF: I hope the baby feels better soon too. I had the ear infections. I thought I had pneumonia but the doctor said it was only a bad cold. The cough is still hanging on after 3 weeks.

buzz&woody'smom
03-06-2003, 07:02 PM
Thanks for all of your support and kind words you all are a great group. My DH teases me that I better go e-mail my Disney friends to see what they think when I am pondering something (lol).

Keep your fingers crossed that the baby will sleep. Mr. Motrine and Mr. Tylenol will be helping him ;) and with the ear pain of course.

DH feels so bad for me, I must look really bad that he told me I should go to a hotel on Saturday and just sleep......... I said no take me on vacation somewhere soon but it is not his fault President Bush and Saddam won't cooperate.

I had a bad day but tomorrow hopefully will be better and then when I did not think it could get worse while at my Gastro Doctor appointment hearing about all the horrific tests I need as follow up to my splenic aneurysm my Dermatologist calls and says my mole I had off last week is bad but not malignant thank goodness and he needs to take a hunk more off.

I was diagnosed 5 years ago with Stage 1 Melanoma (skin cancer) and luckily caught it early but I have to hacked on all the time. I know we are all going on the cruise together in the Carribean but please use sunscreen it could save your life. My SIL Father was just diagnosed with terminal skin cancer on his ear so PLEASE be safe in the sun.

Ok, I know I am a downer and these are vacation boards and suppose to be fun so onto the fun..............oh' the alligator lizard story tomorrow after I (hopefully) rest..........and no matter what my DH says the thing was HUGE and HISSED at me.

Tiff - first of all, you are our friend and because you are sick, you think you are being a downer! Girl, you aren't! We love you and want both you and baby well - so don't fret about bringing us down - EVER!!!! Just you and baby get well! My DH thinks my life revolves around this board - well, maybe I am getting obsessed!!!

Jan, I think I need a life!

Emma, a snake at Cozumel, while horseback riding? Ohhh, thanks so much and I just got you the cutest little....well, I'm not going to tell you what I got you today, you will just have to wait.
Jan, don't give her anymore of those chocolate marshmallow cookies she loves so much, okay?!

Dena - 91? It was snowy today and cold here in Indiana - my area is south of Jan's, so I didn't get that lake effect snow that she did.

And by the way, that song "Gary, Indiana" from the Music Man is the only nice thing about Gary. Right, Jan? Nothing like the song at all - steel mills and crime, and oh yes, Trump's gambling casino on the lake.

Alligator Lizard - another good reason to stay in the frozen north, I'm thinking. BUT I do want to hear the story!!!!!!

Just as long as our thread stays alive - the May 3 thread I started has been long gone!

Tiff - how are you and baby?

Emma - are you out partying?!!!! Without us?!

Hi Rae the USPS is still running. I worked today, what a mess, I think the State Of Maryland is now one big mud pie YUKE!!!
DH is after me today to wash all the trucks, we have 4. You all have a great day, maybe I 'll be able to get back on later tonight HEE!HEE!

I talked DH into cleaning out the garage with me today - we are certainly an exciting bunch, aren't we?! Ginger, we just have to get ourselves a maid or something similiar!!

Clouding up now BIG TIME - those big Thunderstorm clouds are moving in fast. Hope DH is still interested in BBQ for tonight - my mouth has been watering for a steak for a few weeks now!

Okay, so anyone interested in what the schedule for the Christmas/New Years 2004 will be? Speculation that since both are Saturdays, there could be a long (10 day) cruise involved!
Ohhhh, I am thinking about this one already!! Anyone else?

Rae

I am here and he is better. Sleeping right now and slept through the night last night. But after what I have been through I keep hearing "phantom cries" like you hear when you have a new born. He seems better but is even more spoiled than ever now so I will have to try and get back on schedule.

I keep thinking about the cruise to keep me going :). I spoke with my MIL last night and she is very excited which makes me happy :) I can't wait for her to experience the cruise, service and food. She is such a good and hard working person and deserves to be treated.

I hope you guys are doing ok with all of your snow. Being in Eastern NC we did not get snow or ice but it rained for 5 days straight and I mean hard rain. I thought about building a ark yesterday :p in case we needed to evacuate.

The boys and I are heading to Sarasota on the 18th-29th to visit my Dad and Step Mom but I will keep in touch will you all thru their computer.

Be VERY careful with your snow and think happy thoughts about our cruise. By the way Chance told me the other day out of the blue he wants to be Buzz again. I told him he had been Buzz 2 years running and wasn't it time to try something new...........he did get the Return to Neverland (Peter Pan) last week for his B.Day and has always been fascinated with pirates. I will definitely take him to the Shipwreck museum in Key West.

Hugs-

:Pinkbounc HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME :Pinkbounc
Tom let me sleep in this morning, not knowing that I was lying there awake and trying to sleep. He went to get the groceries we needed and came home with a dozen red roses and a lovely card. I do not think I ever got a dozen roses before. !~!
He made breakfast. We did some Bible reading and checked e-mail. My mother called and then went for a walk while the temps were in the low 50's. Now--about 3 hours later it is in the low 30s. It is snowing, raining and thundering. I am freezing.
We are debating going out to eat. Tom is watching a ball game. I have been lobbying for tickets to the Cardinals-Braves game next weekend--(in Orlando)--but am sure that cannot happen.

Emma must be gone.
RAE: Start a new thread for May--someone may see it this time. Pun not intended  but not bad !
Are you speculating that DCL will have a special 10 day cruise for Christmas-New Years 2004???

Have a great day all,

Today was your birthday?
Jan, I am going to whip you with a wet noodle for not telling me that ahead of time!!!! Some good friend I am, I didn't even get the chance to send you a card!!! AGGGHHH!

At least your morning started off okay - so you are getting thundersnow now? Wow! It's still pretty warm here - got up to 52 and DH, DS and I cleaned out the garage - so much sand from the tires!

So where did you go to eat?! I think I want some of Verandah Man's rock shrimp at Titusville - are you in?

I'll post the May 3 cruise list and maybe that will generate some interest. Hope so.

I think Disney would have a great cruise if they planned both Christmas and New Years as one cruise (maybe 10 days). I think I'd be in for that one!!!!

Tiff - glad things are better with the baby. Being hypervigilent is something we Mom's deal with - I hear every little noise and am up at the drop of a pin. Was okay during my military days or when the kids were babies, but now - I find myself jumping up and seeing that our cat was rowdy or dog was moving about in her night crate. Very frustrating!

Any suggestions to give a couple getting married on the ship who are from a foreign country? I've a few ideas but would like to hear yours!!! Any and all are welcomed!

No changes to our cruise list since the last one was posted, by the way.

RAE and ALL: DO not worry about missing my birthday. I celebrate from the time I receive the first card until I am tired of having the cards on the mantle. I love e-cards and e-mails and they even started a thread for me on the Community Board. What a surprise that was to find out about.

We did not get a lot of rain, but did get some snow with that thunder. I had on a turtleneck, Fisherman Knit sweater and fleece vest and was still cold. Now it is in the mid 20's and everything is freezing.

We went out for dinner at a local steak place called Kelsey's--Tom got a steak and I got chicken smothered with Monterey Jack cheese, some mushrooms and bacon bits--ELEGANT!

RAE: Which Titusville is Verandaman in? I do not know about his restaurant--tell me more!

Who is getting married on a ship? Is there a thread about it? FAWN and Ernie got married before the cruise at the Radisson. Dave-from-Marietta's wife is a minister and she officiated and was helped by Shirley from THE PERFECT GIFT. I think I can find some info about that if you are interested.

Jan - Titusville in Florida - don't have much information on the restaurant but he makes me hungry just seeing him eating them!Verandah Man is the poster. He did mention the restaurant, I'll have to find out the name.
I am DYING for some shrimp and cocktail sauce at Topsiders!
We had steak on the BBQ, while it rained - DH was the outside chef!!

There is a couple on one of my other cruises that I've come to know and been privileged to been told about their plans. I would like to honor with something. They haven't married yet and have all arrangements made. I am thinking of something nice, small but American. Thoughts?

Stay warm, birthday girl!

RAE: Are they getting married on the cruise? The May one you are going on?
Or are you asking for an idea of a Cruiseline item as a wedding gift?
Or an American item for a wedding gift as they are not from the USA?

I'm looking for an American item for a wedding gift - Mom thought about Maple Syrup, and maybe some Knotts Berry Farm Jelly. Not sure what someone would like - want to keep it small and easy to transport for them also.

Jan, "HAPPY BIRTHDAY"

Rae sounds like you and your mom should take a trip Cracker Barrel to by that present. They have great stuff, the prices are right, best of all they gift wrap for free. You could add some nice scented candles to go with your syrup and jellies maybe a cook book. Yeap!!!! Cracker Barrel has it all. Sorry if I sound like a commercial, I'm hungry for pancakes this morning.

We will be driving to Fla. in Oct. Most likely staying at the Radisson near the ship. If you're flying in the day before why not stay there too. We could all drive to the terminal in the morning. BTW- we'll be driving our livingroom, (Ford Excursion) the biggest SUV DH could buy. He drives a tracker trailer for a living. Yes, our Excursion is a diesel.

Happy Birthday Jan!!! I am getting my dad to finally copy that Venice cd of my choir for you this afternoon so you should get that in a couple of weeks.

I was kind of out partying! My friend was having her birthday celebrations so we went bowling and then had a sleepover. We were up until about 6am and we watched Beauty and the Beast, Sister act and Sister act 2. Then the sugar kind of went to our heads and we were running round pretending to be nuns...

Glad to hear everyone is getting better Tiff.

Oh dear, I have a maths modular exam on Tuesday and I haven't done very much revision yet!

ALL: :Pinkbounc Thanks for the Birthday wishes:Pinkbounc

EMMA: You were missed.

GINGER: I can see why you say you are taking your Livingroom. But since Bill drives a tractor trailer, that Excursion is in his comfort zone--size wise.

RAE: How about some Yankee Candles?
GINGER'S idea of a trip to Cracker Barrel sounds good and you could focus on American-made items.
The less messy the better-- I keep seeing syrup all over the inside of a suitcase:(
BUT
I LIKE the idea of pancake mix and syrrup as a "basket" with some candles, napkins, etc. A breakfast gift??
Keep us posted on whatever you get :p

It is in the teens today but SUNNY :) so the ice and snow are trying to melt. Got a meeting this afternoon otherwise I would stay in and hibernate. Last night we watched MONSTERS INC. I saw detail I had missed before, like when Sully takes Boo back to her room for real, she hugs him and her little hand is patting him! :) OHHH the Mom in me melted at that one.

RAE: How about a Mike costume for Michael and a Sully for you? That is fluffy!! You could be a set at the judging time. And if anyone else on this thread goes as any kind of monster, gather them up for judging and be a MONSTERS INC group.

Jan I collect those little bottles that the syrup comes in from Cracker Barrel, they are just about unbreakable. You see they make the perfect containers for transporting your own hooch. Cracker Barrel sells the Yankee Candles too.

Yes, Bill loves that Excursion, I guess that's why he bought it for me for my birthday. LOL He just used that as an excuse to buy it. Plus, he knows that I wouldn't have bought it for his.

Welcome Emma!

Jan - BTW have you talked to Estelle lately? How are they doing?

Happy Birthday, Jan

Jan, you shared the birthday weekend with my 2 best friends. Their birthdays are 3/7 and 3/9. Unfortunately, I don't live near either of them right now and did not get to share their birthdays.

Tiff: Glad to hear you and the boys are feeling better.

Rae: I don't know about the shirts yet. Last year we had a good time making our own. High tea sounds like fun. I will have to seriously consider that one. Last cruise we watched the sun set at KW from deck 10. Beautiful! :smooth: We thought Mallory Square might be a little too rowdy for our then 2 yr old.

Yesterday was really beautiful here in Tennessee. Temp was low to mid 70s. Today, back to the lower 50s. Saw several bunches of daffidils blooming on the side of the highway.

Have to go get ready to go back to work tomorrow.

So the Mallory Square sunset party is also in October? For some reason, I thought it was just during the summer. Guess that comes from living in the North for so long and everything sort of closes up when the wind starts blowing cool!!

I think it would be nice to have a "ladies only" tea, sorry gents! We do have a lot of time to decide on this though!

Shirts are optional (ooopss! I mean, buying shirts from Ray when he designs them!!). As long as we all know when to meet IF we elect to meet, again, this is optional - a lot of people change their minds.

This might seem a bit odd to discuss but from another DIS Board thread, I have been receiving a lot of "questionably tasteful" postings anonymously *hate mail. I took a stand against the war based on what DH and I experienced during our years of active duty AND the facts as we are aware of. This was in a debate forum, but since I do have my personal e-mail address at the bottom of Kayla's memorial - it happened.
I never expected this, but then again, I ASSUME that most people here are like me, and not....well, shall I say questionable types?

So just be careful, folks - I'm naive, but now aware!
I also made a stand that just because DH and I didn't enjoy France based on our trips there, doesn't mean that the French are bad, evil or wrong in their stand against the war. This was about the boycott of Disneyland Paris.

Hey, I don't mind telling anyone my opinion - we all have them!!!
But I'm going to be a lot more careful in the future when I jump in with both feet and blinders on!!

Love to you all and have a great day!

Hello! sorry I haven't written for so long. Happy Birthday Jan!

I need your help! They have cut Oliver Wood and Quidditch from the third Harry Potter movie. Oliver Wood is my favorite character and Quidditch is my favorite part of the books. I have made a petition and would appreciate it if you could sign it and possibly pass it on? Thank you so very much!

ROCHELLE: Thanks for mentioning the daffodils. I am so looking forward to spring!! I MISS IT!

RAE: Sorry you are getting some nasty e-mails. Should it be reported to a webmaster?

Jan, those came from someone who "walks the earth" and had no validation from me. If I make any motions, she will persist and it will escalate. Better let the schoolyard bully think she won and find another "victim" - I'm better than sinking to her level. (Now don't I sound all puffed up and proud of myself!) Just thought I'd take the advise I give Michael for once.

Ohhhhhh, guess what everyone?! Because DS is sooooo taken with Fidelio (Dueling Pianos on the Magic), he has asked (BEGGED) for piano lessons! He starts today and I'm sooo excited! I stopped playing a long time ago and don't really want to go back, but now that he is interested, there'll be music in my house once again! HURRAH! And thanks Fidelio!

Temps going to be in the 40's and 50's here in Indiana for the next few days - I am wondering how to act with this heatwave?!
Maybe it's time to combine walking with my Richard Simmons "sweatsercize"!!

Regards to all,

Jan those little bottles are not completely unbreakablethey are just about unbreakable . I'll checkout Estelles post. Thanks, Oh!!! Jan thanks for the dusting story, I loved it.

Rae I think your decision to ignore this bully was a wise one.

Not sure if I still have a job, I had to call in today to say I could work. They really don't like that. I had no other choice, Ashley has a virus, high fever, headache, and a little cough. What's a mother to do.

Mom vacuumed sealed our Cracker Barrel maple syrup bottles last cruise. We got very funny looks from the serving staff in the AM when we used them on our pancakes. They thought we were pouring alcohol!!!! They took the empty bottles back to the kitchen to show the others since they had never seen them before!!

I can't imagine we were the first to ever do this, but it was funny when they asked what we were pouring and to hear them say they thought it was alcohol!!!

Like what kind of alcohol would be good on top of pancakes anyway?!!!!!

; )

Whenever I see someone who has started their alcohol consumption early in the day, I say "they had Budweiser on their Wheaties."
When I commuted to college on the Long Island Railroad, there were people who brought little bottles of vodka on the railroad, got on at the dining car and bought a bagel and orange juice or tomato juice, poured in the vodka and had that for breakfast on the train. I kid you not.
SO
RAE, perhaps those servers have seen people consuming alcohol for breakfast.

I guess I have never seen those little bottles you are talking about. I just cannot picture it. Do I understand that you took your own pancake syurp on the cruise? Don't they have pancake syrup? (I don't know since I am not a pancake person.)

EMMA: Glad the math went well and the rest of your day too.

THIS IS WHAT I SENT GINGER AND RAE (I sent it to you, right, Rae?) I did not write it.

Dusting

"A house becomes a home when you can write "I love you" on the
furniture."

I can't tell you how many countless hours that I have spent CLEANING!

I used to spend at least 8 hours every weekend making sure things were just perfect -"in case someone came over". Then I realized one day that no one came over; they were all out living life and having fun!

Now, when people visit, I find no need to explain the "condition" of my home. They are more interested in hearing about the things I've been doing while I was away living life and having fun. If you haven't figured this out yet, please heed this advice.

Life is short. Enjoy it! Dust if you must, but wouldn't it be better to
paint a picture or write a letter, bake a cake or plant a seed, ponder the difference between want and need?

Dust if you must, but there's not much time, with rivers to swim and mountains to climb, music to hear and books to read, friends to cherish and life to lead.

Dust if you must, but the world's out there with the sun in your eyes, the wind in your hair, a flutter of snow, a shower of rain. This day will not come around again.

Dust if you must, but bear in mind, old age will come and it's not kind. And when you go - and go you must - you, yourself will make more dust!

Share this with all the wonderful women in your life! I JUST DID.

It's not what you gather, but what you scatter that tells what kind of life you have lived.

The cruise doesn't carry "pure 100% maple syrup" and for those of us who grew up on the real stuff, we HAVE to HAVE it!!!!

Alcohol for breakfast?! I guess who, I heard a woman during one AM meal ask for a shot in her coffee but the bar wasn't open yet and she was upset. Give me a break!!!!!

Michael loved his first lesson! And of course, there are none so convinced as the newly converted, so he came home and practiced. Let's see how 1/2 hr per day of practice goes in a few weeks!!! As James told him, "This is your responsibility! Mom or Dad can remind you, but you have to do the work yourself!"

Having a bout of insomnia tonight so I am certainly glad there's things to do on my computer!!!
Dusting isn't one of them!

My Goodness, RAE, if you dusted, you would waken Michael, Tom and your mother. [For the uninitiated, Mom has her own place....:) ]

A shot in the morning, whiskey in her coffee?? What a life. The Disney MAGIC is not enough of a high, they lady wants booze? I wonder if she was hung over and wanted to try to get rid of that discomfort.

Glad to hear Michael enjoyed the first piano lesson.

Have a good day,

Why are we both up so late?! If we didn't live 2 hours away from eachother, I'd suggest a late night coffee shop rendezvous!
I thought about dusting but then realized it was just the lateness of the hour that was making me delusional.

Michael gave me a Seven Dwarfs statue, "Sleepy" the other day. Right now "he" looks better than I feel!

Haven't received any new information from anyone so the list still stands as it was.

I am sure that we will get some new people before October's sailing.

We are thinking of Stingray City and Dolphin Excursion as our excursions for August - that's when Tom joins us Western. It will be nice to be able to come back here to report things!!

My next favorite is "Beauty and the Beast"!!!

Hi everyone. It has been quite a while since I have posted.

JAN: A very happy very belated birthday!!:p Sorry I did not wish you one sooner.

MARTEL-LUV-WDW: Welcome to our family:D :D :D :D

So get this, on Friday our whole school was invited to the 100year anniversary of th pelican island preserve, (due to the fact that our school is very involved with conservation and the preserve of the scrub jay habitat in our area.) Guess who was there. ROY DISNEY!!! How cool is that? Okay, maybe some of you don't think it's that cool, but I do.:Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc Anyway, it was a great celebration. Jack Hanna was there with all sorts of animals. And they unveiled the new Pelican Island Postage Stamp. It was pretty neat to be involved with something like that in our very own hometown!;)

My other news is that my sister and BIL have booked the 4 of us on a cruise over spring break March 31- April 4. NO its not disney:( . It is on NCL. So now I get to try a different cruise line. I am still pretty excited. It cose 178.00 per person for 4 nights. We sail out of Miami and go to key west and cozumel.:smooth:

All else is well here. Thank God no one is sick.

Dena:earsgirl:

PS: EMMA - you have got to see the emperors new groove. That is one of my favorites too.

Welcome Martel-luv-wdw !!!

Hello Everyone,
I hope everyone had a good week & all are on the road to recovery.

Rae: I have to agree with you. I like the Emperor's New Groove a lot myself.

The weather here is nice right now. It is very cloudy & some rain is expected but it is WARM.

This was an exciting week at our office. For months we have been kept in the dark about whether we are moving our office or expanding into the offices that are coming vacant in our building. Last week they started sending our funny e-mail messages and hints as to what we are doing.
Thursday, we had a "secret" meeting to announce we will be moving & they put us all on tour buses and took us to see where our new office will be. It is about 3 times larger than where we are now. Of course, right now it is one huge empty room. We have the whole fourth floor. We did get to see the new lay out. It looks great. Then they took all 85+ of us out to lunch. We were worthless for the rest of the day. Fortunately, I had planned to leave early that day or I would not have done a thing all day.

Sorry to bore you all with that news but we have been in the same office for 5 years & have been steadily growing the whole time. It was getting tight.

Back to the Saturday chores. Hope to hear from you all soon.

Wow! Lots of chat since I've been gone (ran away with DH yesterday!)

Emma - Don't worry about the room numbers, we have plenty of time. Also check it out with your DM and DF. Yes, I know - I worry -it's part of my job, I'm a Mom!

Ginger - They love you at the USPS, what can I say?! I heard a tape once by a woman who said that she'd love a job but she'd be afraid that they'd want her back after the second day and that would be BORING for her!!!!

Rochelle - Most excellent on the new office space!!! When oldest DS moved out, I took his room and made it my office!! I love having my own space, just me, computer and usually the cat, surrounded by books! AHHHH! This is life!

Dena - LUCKY YOU!!!! Wow! Must have been pretty neat to see them both! Please share with us your thoughts on Cozumel and Key West!!

I went to bed to early last night so I'm up early this morning. DD is sick again, fever, headache, coughing. It goes away for a few days then the fever starts again. My Bronchitis is flaring up again. Looks like a trip to the doctors is in order for both of us.

Rae I read your post about your neighbors building a 5000 sq ft house or should I say mansion. WOW!!! now who's going to clean that place????

Rae, my new job is borning. But better than changing dirty, stinky diapers.

Emma what is your mom and dads first names. I'm sorry I can't remember.

It's now 7:28AM - your math is correct! I usually get up between 5-6AM every day! It's wonderful since no one else is up and I can have my cup of coffee and chats in private!!!!

As I get older, Emma, I relish my privacy even more.

Anyone planning to do the Captain Marvin's tour? I am looking at the 2.5 hour one since we don't snorkel. I am also interested in the horseback riding on the beach - any takers?

Rae

rae519
03-16-2003, 07:32 AM
She is building a 5,000 sq ft. house - lovely lady who was abandoned by her husband after the birth of their second child (son who is now 16 1/2 years old). Never dated, never remarried but just got a WHOPPING settlement check from him for all the alimony and child support she was owed! So this house is just for her and her two children (18 and 16). I know I don't want to clean it - I have enough with mine and it's about 2500 sq ft.

Ohh, those diaper days! How I DON'T miss them!! Any job, even a boring one, is much better than that! I wasn't able to stay at home with my first two children, but I was when we adopted Michael, so it was quite an experience to be 40 years old and start all over with diapers and formula! I wouldn't have missed it for the world though!!!!

Ginger - any thoughts about Captain Marvin or horseback riding? Michael and I definitely want to do this!

We are talking about Grand Cayman, right. I asked DH about the horseback riding. He asked if Ashley was old enough to go, she is 6. We were also thinking about renting a jeep to drive to Rum Point, there's a pirate thing going on on that side of the island on the day we are there. We drove there last year, never found the pirate thing but had a wonderful time at Rum Point beach. We like to snorkel.

Emma we had brunch with them last year, remember the DIS group Palo brunch. I think there was 18 to 20 people at the brunch. We had just enough people that they put us in the private dinner area in Palo. It was nice but to crowded in that room.

Rae then her new home is a true trophy, good for her.

I was 39 when I had Ashley, my first and only child. The whole new motherhood thing was so scarey. I have been lucky to be able to stay home with her. I guess that's why I was hoping to be fired from my job, it's taking time away from my baby girl. She's had no problems with me working, it's been me having separation anxiety.

Yes, BRUNCH!
We need to get that started! Count me in!

I dearly love the woman - she is a survivor and has done a great job with her children. Both are talented and polite. I tried to fix her up with my best guy friend but he lives out of state and although it did "CLICK", she is adamantly against any relationships with men until her children are adults. Her choice, but he is a good catch!!!! Yes, it's her trophy house and I asked her if I could have one of the spare rooms to "visit" - ahahaha!

I learned something very special about Emma - she is a very gifted writer, as I have learned through our postings. I think we need to get her to write our Cruise Trip Report!

Yes, maybe we all need lessons before we start back to riding!!! Not a bad idea!!

Good morning everyone. You have all been very busy chatting this AM.:) I think that we are going to do the 2.5 captian marvins excursion too. But I am still not too sure as to what we are going to do in Cozumel. Last year we did Xcaret, which I loved, but the excursion was not long enough. I would like to do it again, on our own.:p We shall see.

Speaking of children, I had all three of mine before I was 23. YIKES!!!! And when my youngest was 16 months old my then husband and I divorced. And 8 months later I went to college full time. My children were 2, 3, and 6. Then I met my wonderful husband Michael.;) And now my oldest is driving, working and will graduate high school next year:( boo hoo:(

And on the subject of employment, we have decided that I am going to take a year leave from my job and stay home to watch my niece, who will be born in July, and a friends baby, who will be born in April. I am so excited!!!:p :p :p I love babies. Too bad I could not convince my 2nd husband to have one.:(

Well, I am off, my DD has a project on Ancient Rome to work on today. Have a great day!

Dena 2 infants at one time? You poor thing , good luck. You'll get so attached to those babies that after a year you won't want to go back to work. Anyway who's going to care for them if you go back to work?

Oh no!!! My DH just came home from work and guess what, he's sick.

Poor Ginger's DH! And poor Ginger!

Dena, maybe we can arrange for all of us to get on one excursion at Captain M's.

Definitely going to do the horseback riding with DS though! It's a long time dream of mine to ride a horse on a beach, even before the movie "Black Stallion" was filmed!

It was a glorious day here - guess I got all of Emma's good weather (thank you!!!). Opened up all the windows and turned off the heat! HURRAY! Then DH put on the Weather Channel and we saw the forecast for the rest of the week. Well, at least we had today!

We were on page 2 and we can't let that happen. Believe it or not just got back from the Naval Hospital with the baby again. This time 10 days of Erythomicine (?spelling) and baby Sudafed. This is his 3rd antibiotic in 3 weeks and we leave tomorrow for Florida for 10 days to visit my Dad and Step Mom. I pray he does ok on the flight, Mr. Motrine will be his friend :). It is a direct flight from Raligh to Tampa so hopefully he will be ok. My 5 year old DS has always been a trooper no matter what. He has severe asthma and has been through a lot in 5 young years. He could not understand today at the Doctor's why she was making Cade cry. Now mind you the Doctor was only listening to his chest and looking in his ears and such. He stood there with all of this 5 year old might and told her to stop making his baby brother cry............oh well, interesting morning. Off to pack for tomorrow. I will check in via e-mail on you gals.

One more thing. I am having a really hard time deciding about GC. I want to take Chance to the Sting Ray snorkel. I have narrowed it down to Captain Marvins or Bryan's or maybe Nativeway. I am not sure Chance will be "weirded" out by the rays but I know he can stay on the boat and thought he would even love the boat ride and beautiful water. What do you all think and who should we use? Is anyone else (not Rae :) and her sharkaphobia) doing this excursion?

I thought I would send my MIL, 2 year old, and Mom and Dad since Mom uses a wheel chair on the AC tour of the island???

We are probably going to do the Stingrays. I want to do this as early as possible so I have time to shop. We can't really decide yet. We all keep coming up with different things we want to do.

Sharkbait here....

I am so sorry about your baby, Tiff - maybe they will try ear tubes next. Wow! Chance must be a real wonderful brother to Cade to be concerned. That's love and it's how you are raising them! Good mama - probably a tired Mama but a good one!

Tom is "FORCING" me to do Stingray City on the August cruise with Michael. The first time one of those things touch me, I'm going to scream bloody murder! Michael and I are going horseback riding first though - I don't want to die before riding a horse on the beach. And if I don't get eaten then maybe I'll do it again in October. No promises!!!!

Rae

P.S. I have a will made out and if I get eaten by a shark while on this August excursion, there is a clause that says DH won't get a dime!

buzz&woody'smom
03-17-2003, 07:32 PM
then let us know how the sting ray excursion was and who you are using? I really think Chance will get scared but I think he would like riding the boat and maybe getting in the water better than the DCL excursion of the island where they visit Hell, 7 mile beach and the turtle farm which my 2 year will like. We will be going to Chakanab for a beach day in Cozumel and then of course Castaway Cay.

Last year my DH and I went to Playa del Carmen for a week which is a 30 minute ferry ride from Cozumel and it was heaven on earth. We took the day ferry over to Cozumel and went on a 1/2 snorkeling trip and visited 3 reefs. They also do a combined dive & snorkeling trip for people who have people who do both (i.e. DH dives and I snorkel). I would highly recommend them to everyone. When they took us out there were only 2 other coupples off of the RCCL Voyager. They keep the groups 8 or less and if other snorkel boats pull up and crowd us they move us. It was the most awesome thing I have done :) Here is their web link for anyone interested and no Rae we were in water 20 feet deep and never saw a shark :)

http://www.eagleraydivers.com/WhatsNew.htm

You do have to e-mail Chellie one of the owners she is a transplanted American to make reservations and they do fill up fast.

Ok, that is my information for tonight. On to my baby, I hope we can avoid tubes. Chance has had 2 sets and his anoids and tonsils out but it did help. Hope you all are well.

Off to Florida for 85 degrees :p

WE havent decided which excursion we are going to do yet, but I really WANT to do either Stingray city, or the dolphins! But that dolphin one seems so darned expensive, and my DS8 says he does not want to swim with the rays! I guess he can hang out wiht Rae! LOL When do we need to start booking these things? I need guidance! Also I am now 33 weeks pregnant and in very much pain! I am still working full time, and all I can think about to keep me going is paying on my cruise, and having enough money for excursions! Dont wanna charge it! So, is it October yet?

I am subscribed to this thread but did not get any notice of activity for a couple DAYS. I decided to check as I could not BELIEVE you had no one posting and  there are three new pages  I wonder why I did not get any notice about it.

DENA: I celebrate the BIRTH SEASON :p It starts when I get my first card or e-mail and lasts until I am tired of having the cards on the mantle--in April or May. So you are definitely in time. Thanks. :D
Have a super time on the cruise and let us know what you think of it and how it compares!
The Pelican Island Story is neat! I'm impressed that Roy was there! :D

EMMA: Yes, you must see Emperor's New Groove!! It is good.

ROCHELLE: Neat about the new office!! What a fun way to tell everyone! Clever people you work for. :)

GINGER: What is with your postal job? How is Ashley? You? Bill? Over that flu I hope! :)

TIFF: How is the baby? How was the trip? How did he handle the flights?

DZNEPRINCESS: You are in pain with the pregnancy? Is the baby OK?

We had temps in the low 70s today--it was WONDERFUL :Pinkbounc It is supposed to be in the 40s the rest of the week. Spring is over. Ratz.

Okay, what's up with the pain at 33 weeks? I delivered my first Christopher (9/8/1980) at 28 weeks - he was a feed and grow premie but I had no pain during gestation. As the possible babysitter, I want you both to be healthy - so take care, please!

Michael will be on the boat with us for Stingray City in August. I still have to make the reservations. I'll let you know how an 8 year old does - if the 48 year old Mama holds up!!!!!

Jan, welcome back!!!! Missed you!

Have a great day everyone!

Whoops, sorry didn't mean to worry anyone! Especially Rae, as she has a financial investment in my brood:smooth: Many years ago, I had a fractured tailbone. The DRS explained to me then, that type of injury never completly heals. During my everyday life it hurts occassionally (my weight doesn't help) but during my 1st pregnancy I discovered what they meant by "never completly heals" ! LOL Yet here I am with #4! What is wrong with me, don't I remember pain?? It is really bad! As the uterus and baby get bigger and heavier, it puts alot more weight on my tailbone. Also since I can no longer sleep on my belly or back, I can only sleep on either side, which adds more stress to the area because I spend x hours a night with the majority of my weight on my hips :( Getting out of bed in the mornings is a task :-) There are definetly moans and groans, and I'm sure a few expletives are muttered, but I haven't quite figured out by who? My job is with the local telephone company, inside the central office, lots of bending, reaching, stepping up on a step ladder (one step only don't worry) and going and going and going! LOL I told someone else most days I feel like the Energizer Bunny that has finally lost its battery power! I just called out this morning, because yesterday was an extremely painful day at work, and this morning just walking 10 feet to the restroom was BAD:( OK my pity story is done now! lol All is well with baby Nathaniel, and i expect him to go full term as all the other brood did:D I just cant wait to sleep on my Belly!!! Ok who's gonna sleep on their belly in honor of me this evening??? LOL

Is Michael at all aprrehensive about the Stingrays? When I ask my Christopher 7 (CJ) about it, he politely declines! LOL It is so strange becaue he will not hesitate to go on roller coaster rides, and scary rides with me but he does like scary movies, or doesn't seem to wanna do this type of thing. But my DD Taylor (6), she hates scary rides, but loves anything scary on TV and really wants to do the stingrays! Now Max (3) he will probably want to bring one home as a pet for Nathaniel

Ok it is early and here I am running my mouth! I hope everyone has a great and painfree day!

How interesting - I broke my tailbone while on active duty - fell down a set of stairs!!! And I do agree, it was very difficult at times, especially during labor since the pressure was significant even with a 2lb 13 1/2 ounce bruiser like Christopher!

Yes, I do have the claim of "adoptive" Mama to you and your brood - so I will definitely sleep on my belly tonight for you! How about a nap? Can I take one for you?!

Maybe if Michael enjoys it, we can hook up both boys and then maybe CJ will want to go for it. We can always try!

Oh my goodness, #1 4. I am stressing this Am on getting to the airport by myself parking, checking everything, clearing security with the raised security level etc, with a 21 month old and 5 year old so I do feel for you with 3 and 1 on the way :)

When I was pregnant with Cade Chance turned 3 while he was gone and I was pregnant while he was gone and worked full time as a Loan Officer and took care of our house.......then when he did come home for 1 week when I was 36 weeks pregnant all hell broke loose but I will tell you about that after you deliver because it was a fluke thing anyway :)

When are you due, how old will the baby be when we sail? Is the baby going? I sure admire you keeping up with all of them :) I laughed out loud when I read the 3 year old will want to bring 1 home (lol),

Off to the airport!

Rae, take that nap for me! Never can get to much sleep! :p I think that is a good idea abput the boys getting togther on our cruise. When we sail CJ will have just turned 8! I think he would enjoy some time away from Taylor. You know the two of them are only 14 months apart in age, and I think he gets a little tired of her at times. You know I hear from a lot of people that have a tailbone injury! Did you actually break your tailbone, or just fracture it? Mine was a fracture, which is maybe why no invasive correction was done, plus I was only like 8. I have been to a chiropractor before and that certainly helped! But that was back when I only had 1 kid and something know as FREE Time! lol

Tiff: Why are you going? NO fair! I have notrips to llok forward to until our cruise! That is VERY hard for me! I normally go to WDW at least 2wce during the year, and Biloxi Mississippi at least once a year for some gambling! ( that is my keep myself sane trip with no kids or DH) So the last trip I was one was to WDW in Spetember before I found out I was pregnant! And that was a last minute trip. I just tagged along with my friend and her mom! Isn't your 5 year old a great big help? My CJ is 7 now, but he is such a help for me with Max. Taylor tries too, but usually she makes more of a mess  It will be interesting to see how Max does with baby Nathaniel. He is so excited about the baby and our cruise. Not a day goes by that he doesn't ask, either " Is da baby here yet?" or " When is it gon be ha-o-ween??" LOL You know that whole no concept of time thing! I am due May 3rd, and nathaniel should be roughly 6 months old by the time we sail. At this point we are not planning on bringing him. BUT we have 2 cat 10s and can add him if we need to! LOL

When we last sailed CJ was 3 and Taylor was 2, so we always had her with us. This was before DCL had Flounders. My DH really wans to go with no baby because he wants to be able to have some grown up time, and I think that after 6 months with 4 kids 8 and under I will be ready for some kidless time to! So at this point he will be staying with Grandma! But I may become to attched! LOL

Whew what is it with me, I am a chatterbox today. I guess since I am at home alone with no one to talk to! LOL

So is anyone else on deck 2 with us?

The weather was lovely again today here! Started off dull and cold but it had cheered up considerably by lunch.

Fractured tailbones-ouch!

All hell broke loose in my history class today because our regular teacher wasn't in and no substitute turned up. We had people throwing paper at each other and somehow they got a cupboard door for a shield! It wasn't really all that bad though but when a teacher finally came to see why we were making so much noise and set us work they didn't even notice the lifesize drawings on the board!

I think we're on deck 7

Hi all
Bill is feeling better, Ashley was too until 1:45 am when she woke me up with her Mommy cry. Her ear is now hurting her. we'll be making a trip to see the doctor today.

Jan, I haven't been getting the notices either. Still working, had to work yesterday. While I was on the road delivering I hit a curb and blow a tire. Thank goodness Bill was home and could come out and change it for me. When he put on the little donut tire (spare) it was flat too. Just my luck cause I was having a good day till that happened. I am working to get my speed up, I did finish my route and make it back to the postoffice before 5:45pm.

dznyprincess I feel for you. I went 41 weeks before they induced me. I kept working as long as I could, 39 weeks. I was working for the postal services then. I got so big that I could not get behind the wheel of my mail truck. My postmaster put me on light duty, so I worked in the office.

Got to go for now.

Ok we made it to Florida it barely, our flight was delayed over 3 hours so that put the babies aleady sick self to a point of exhaustion. He actually did ok, I ran him and Chance (5) up and down the terminals for 3 plus hours but Cade was up ALL last night with this awful congestion and coughing. It is almost a choking cough. He would not sleep in the pack n play and he just broke one of my Step Mom's decorations "by accident" so not off to a good start. We could call it a day and head back home instead of staying 10 days but then I think he is more sick now and I need to wait it out to see if the 3rd antibiotic quicks in. Then of course I am paranoid because I have no spleen from my aneurym at 36 weeks with him so I am immune compromised and there is all of this fatal junk going around. I did tell my DH before I left , "now don't sneak off to war and not let me know".......I hope that does not happen before I get back.

We are on deck 2 2102 & 2104. I LOVE deck 2 it is quiet, quiet, quiet. I think I have talked my sister and her companion in joining us again this year but they will be in a Category 11 on deck 6.

dzneprincess , I am sorry to hear you are in pain and hope it gets better for you :(

Rae and Ginger I hope the weather gets better for you and everyone gets better and same to you Jan!!!

Hi all, thank you for the well wishes, they worked. We are all back on the road to good health.

Now if the rain would stop long enough for the ground to dry out I could plant some flowers.

We signed our contract yesterday to start our home improvement. The contractor will be starting in 6 weeks. I am excited but not looking forward to the mess. He says it will take 2 1/2 to 3 months. We are going to try to live in the house while the renovations are going on. Not sure it's going to work, he says we may have to go to a hotel for a few days. We will have 1 bedroom, bath, and the living room to live in. But no kitchen, I guess we'll be cooking with the microwave, toaster oven and grill. We are going to move the old frig to our front porch area which is enclosed. We may have to put the computer in storage for awhile, so if you all don't see me posting you'll know why.

Well I'm off to the gym, have to shed some of this winter weight before it's pool time.

rae519
03-21-2003, 06:42 PM
Good luck on the renovations! We did our interior ourselves but it was just cosmetic stuff - the actually WORK was done on the outside by contractors. Never any fun and forget privacy - but the results will be worth it, Ginger! I promise!

Had "college boy" (my eldest son) home for a few days. Sure was nice to hear his opinions and viewpoints on the world. Makes me miss him though because he loves to debate!

Only 41 days til we leave for our May cruise and I know I'm not alone in this but, I'm just not feeling very excited about it. Must be the weather or just this negative news, but I sort of lost my enthusiasm - Mom and Michael have enough to carry me through though.

Going to bed early tonight and hope to wake up feeling more like me -

Rae

"Ginger"
03-22-2003, 08:28 AM
Rae I know it's worth it. We have been through improvements before just not on such a large scale. They will be taking off the top to bottom back half of the house this time. The end results will be a new kitchen, going for the Old World style, a diningroom off the kitchen and 3 new bedrooms on the second level, one being a master suite for me and maybe I'll share it with my DH, LOL. They are putting my laundry room on the second floor too, I'm going to love that. We have an inground pool with a large deck on one side that is going to be extended to connect to the back part of the house French doors leading you into the new kitchen from the deck. All new appl., hardwood floors, new staircase leading to upstairs bedroom, all new windows, all new doors, new siding and such and central air will be added. Yes Rae it will be worth it.

I can understand your mixed feels about your upcoming cruise. We live about 3 miles from Aberdeen Proving Ground, when we go out on the main road, Rt. 40, we see the military trucks carrying the big jeeps and trucks. The ones that we have been seeing on the news. We can hear and feel, my old windows rattle, them testing explosives. They have done this for along as I can remember, but now I am noticing it more. I wonder if it is testing or the real thing. I have decided to stop watching T.V., CNN and the other news stations. I'm starting to drive my DH crazy with all my What if's. Maybe you should do the same. Have you got a DCL tape or DVD to play?

My DH Scott is still here thank goodness. Not sure what the next few holds for us??? The boys and I are still in Florida and should be heading back to NC next Friday as long as it is ok to fly. I do know that Scott has access to certain reports and to ease some of your minds the travel you are planning should be fine with no threats.

Go and enjoy! I know I am having ot be SO careful with what Chance see's. Now that he turned 5 his light bulb is coming on and he did see the paper and made a comment about why the Marine was in the picture and of course I said practicing because that is what he is use to seeing.

The good news is that Cade (fingers crossed) seems to better. His 4th week on antibiotic and he seems to be improving.....yeah! I hope that all of you are well.

Remember, even if you don't support our President or the war these men and women had no choice when made to go so SUPPORT OUR TROOPS. They are men and women with families that need our prayers, letters, care packages and support.

We got our reports yesterday and they think I am capable of getting all As of A*s in my exams next year so it was good!

We have a competition with choir next weekend, first round. If we get through that then we go to the second round in London and if we get through that then we sing at the Royal Albert Hall in London!

I've never really watched the news, I just get updates in the morning on breakfast TV and then I check on the bbc website for any big developments but before the whole Iraq thing I didn't watch it much.

A mother nature costume sounds interesting!

I meant to tell you Jan that you remember that email you sent about teacher who got her class to write things they liked about each other on a piece of paper? Well I sent that to some of my friends and within a week the lad I sit next to in Biology told me that by the time it had got to him it had been through 300 other people!

We got told this morning that the year tens break up on Friday for 2 weeks study leave while we do our year 10 exams and then we have 2 weeks off for easter along with the rest of the school. A month off!!!

"Ginger"
03-24-2003, 01:03 PM
Jan sounds like a good idea but Ashley is only in a size 5 for little girls. We are hoping she grows to size 6 before the cruise so she can wear the new clothes I bought her. I'll be looking for a long flowing night gown something in black or something I can dye. I'll make her cape that should not be hard. I've been wondering just how long she going to wear those fangs. LOL.

I see Mother Natural wear a beautiful white gown with vines growing around her arms, leaves on the gown, birds in her hair and grass growing on her feet. Oh! little animals trailing behind her.

03-24-2003, 01:10 PM
GINGER: I remember how tiny Ashley is. But I did not know if a second hand dress in a small size could be altered more easily they sewing something from scratch. The nightgown sounds like a good choice.
I like your Mother Nature ideas for Rae. I wonder what animal she will have sitting on her train????

EMMA: Neat about that e-mail traveling so far. Glad you and your chums liked it.

Hi all :-)
Just wanted to pop in and say hi. Just got back from my 35 week OB check up. I have been feeling horrible the past few days, well turns out I have a touch of bronchitis!
 So he gave me a script for some z-pak ? and said to take robitussin. The cough is Killin' my tummy! Hurts like &*#(#&&*#..... LOL Lets all have a pity party for me!!
Rae, we are going to be in early dining on our cruise......maybe we can be dinner mates :-) I warn you though, it is not pretty eating with 3 kids 8 and under! There is bickering, sloppiness, sleepiness, and last but not least mominess! HEHE

I can't believe you all are thinking about your costumes already! I doubt I will be able to get my DH to dress up, and I'll prob just use my poodle skirt from last time I dressed up, and go as a mouseketeer. The kids? Well who the heck knows?? Thats still 7 months away! LOL

Emma, must be nice to have such leisure time :smooth: I visited England once, when I was a girl scout. We went to London, and I absolutely adored it! I think it was about 14 years ago, when I was 13. I have always stated that I wanted to go back, but, well then I met WDW and unfortunately, well you know the way it goes! LOL

GINGER: If I see Rae's costume it will not stop me from coming on the cruise if the money is there. You can count on that :Pinkbounc

EMMA: I tried to send you an e-mail and it came back. Is your address changed?

TIFF: How are you all?

DZNEPRINCESS: How are you feeling now? Poor baby? Bronchitis! And pregnant! and couging :( Poor lady!! :(
(is that enough sympathy?)

I still think you need to share among yourselves what your costumes will be like Rae is doing so that if any of you can get together and be a group of something, you will have a better chance to win a prize. Like if MICHAEL goes as MIKE from MONSTERS INC and DENA'S ASHLEY wears her SULLY costume again, they should go through judging together!!

RAE: You want me to coordinate HOW??? With PMs or e-mails that people send me telling me what they have in mind and then I put them together with those going in coordinating costumes? or do you want me on the ship acting like the "Wedding Planner"?
People on our last Halloween Cruiser thread were secretive about their costumes and yet on the ship we did not see each other anyway. If we had known ahead of time what each family was doing it would have been another way to recognize each other while on the ship. So I think that sharing the ideas out in the open is a good idea. But I am open to suggestion.

Yes, the Wedding Planner - Jan, what a great idea! I think you need to start sewing costumes too!!!! HAHAHAHAH! You are toooo funny and we together will get into bunchs of trouble!!!
BUT that's after I get the fund drive over the top for your trip!

By the way, the school send home information about what they will do if we go to Code Red. As of now, all field trips are cancelled AND it looks like my big fundraiser - "At the Tropics" is on hold. Everyone has gotten excited about the idea though and we are planning it, hoping it will be held!!!!

Yes, I sure hope the "At The Tropics" is held. I'll be on the cruise that day, but we already have so many donations and a very nice Dad is making decorations (like palm trees!!).

Just wish they had stuck with their original date and not changed this - same with Michael's First Communion, it was changed to 5/3 also!!! That was going to be one busy day for us and now it's the cruise!

I agree - planners never get to relax!!!

Dzneprincess you poor little baby, you need to get off your feet and rest. Go to bed and let everyone wait on you. Now you know you really should because in just 5 short weeks you won't be getting any good rest for a long while. I hope you have help coming in after the baby is born.

Rae I would link with you but we have late seating. We have always had early but I guess we booked to late this time. I think we might like the later dinning not as much rushing. We don't worry about Ashley because she likes eating with the kids club. Actually Bill and I enjoy Topsiders for dinner. We like doing Palo on Saturday night and any other night we can get in.

Emma - I was hoping that the "crush" would smarten up and start dating you! SHEESH! Well, maybe if he wasn't so shy!

Ginger - don't you dare tell us what your costume is! I like the surprise element! Michael is still set on being a Pirate. He just loved Captain Hook and Mr. Snee. That sounds great (Palo on Saturday night); I don't know if or when I can get Mom to do it but I am just as comfortable by myself eating as with company. So if you see me there alone, it's by choice!!!

I will get her to go to brunch though - (even if I have to bribe her with extra desserts!)

Not much going on today - spent the morning with Mom and soon Michael will be home. He will start his horseback riding lessons in mid May. You should have heard him BALK when I said that he'd be mucking out stables when he's older to pay for his own lessons. All he kept saying is "Horse poop stinks!" and I'd reply, "Yeah, so what?" Guess he thinks that it's gardenias growing in his bathroom!

Toodles!

Headed home from Florida back to NC today. Not sure what awaits me with my DH and the war :( but will take 1 day at a time bc it is out of my hands. I do have a serious ? for you all and did not want to post a new thread bc I figured you all would have a good answer:

My sister and her companion have decided to join us again this year as they did last year. I just finished booking their cabin thru DU with Michelle. As you all know my DM had a devastating stroke at the young age of 56 two years ago. She is paralyzed on the right side and has no use of her right arm and hand and very, very limited use of her right leg. She uses a wheel chair and cane. Rhonda (my DS) and Amy are going to help my Dad as last year it is very hard and tiring on him to "assist" my DM on a cruise as their are more hurdles than at home where they have their rountine. DM needs help eating and getting to the restroom. My DS and Amy will be wonderful helping my DM and helping me since my DH can't go and help me with my my young guys.

We have early seating as my DS's will be 2.5 and 5 in October. Michelle wait listed Rhonda and Amy for early seating but late is only available right now. I thought if I had my Mom's Doctor note on her medical form that I will be faxing to DCL the reason to add only 2 people to a exisiting table of 6 that would help??? I also thought worst case scenario my DF could go to the dining room upon embarkation and request the 2 added to our table. I just don't want my DM embarrassed by her condition as it has been so hard for her to go from a 56 career go get em woman to a sweet and wonderful woman who is very disabled :(

Any advice?

Heading home from Tampa today and will get back to NC late, late tonight. I will check in with you over the weekend. Almost feel like I should wear a mask bc of this SAR disease......since losing my spleen to the aneurysm the Doctors classify me as "immune compromised" so I am not too excited about flying today but oh well have to get home. When I came to Florida there was no SARS or War :(

Say a prayer for our troops please.

Hope spring is headed your way :)

Tiff :)

We just broke up for 4 weeks!!! I have 3 whole days where I have no exams and the others I'm only in school for about two hours.

We have the choir competition's first round tomorrow! You shall all have to keep your fingers crossed for us tomorrow!

I'm not really all that talented Rae! I can sing with other people but not on my own!

rae519
03-28-2003, 06:00 PM
Tiff - yes, by all means, call Disney and talk with their representative about this immediately! There are some cases where exceptions are definitely made and this sure would constitute one!!! You must know that our prayers are with you and DH. I know you are coping the best you possibly can and anyone who doesn't realize how hard it is for a young Mom with two very small children is a.....well, you know!!!!!!!
I told DH that I was thinking of masking us during our flights also because of SAR and the talk of spread. Always something, dear girl, always something.

Emma - Okay, what about a bunch of us get together and sing something easy, simple and well-known? I've an okay voice, better with a group also. I think something Disney would be fabulous - like "Zippety Doo Dah"!

Sure wish Jan was coming with us, she could also be the coordinator for the Talent Show along with her seamstress skills and social coordinator tasks!!!!!!

I'm having a fit because I've 34 days til I leave for my May Eastern Cruise and haven't documents yet. This is the latest I've ever waited for them and I'm nervous!!!!! I just want those little buggers in my hot hands and start packing!

Tiff I don't understand why your ressies with your sister and you were not linked together so you all would be together as far as dinning goes. Last year I booked our ressies than at a later date I booked Ray and Tony's( I worked for a TA part-time). I was told that they would have late seating which was great because thats what they wanted. Everytime I called DCL about our ressies the CM's would asked me if Ray and Tony wanted to change their dinning to early to be with us, I kept telling them NO. When we checked in at the terminal Ray and I were looking at our KTTW cards and sure enough DCL had changed them to early even though I kept telling them NO.
Have Michelle call them back and explain your situation. DCL will make an except in your case.

Praying for all and that your DH doesn't have to go to war.

Rae who booked your ressies? One time it was 2 1/2 weeks before our cruise before we got our docs.

rae519
03-28-2003, 07:34 PM
I've made my own through DCL then have them tranfered over to cruisetraveloutlet.com where I get a 7% rebate off the cost of the trip. So I've always had them earlier than this - DH told me that possibly because I am still on the wait list for "MY" stateroom that it's taking longer. I guess I could wait forever if I could get "MY" stateroom (possessive, aren't I?)

You won't believe this but I just signed up for THREE excursions for August Western!!! YUP! Used a travel company recommended on this forum and for me and Michael, it's Grand Cayman horseback riding on the beach - then with Tom, it's the snorkel trip (yes, I know - chicken Rae in the water) - for Cozumel, it's the dolphin SWIM at the Park (again, chicken Rae in the water).

Rae

The last time I booked with Costco we got our docs late. Hoping that it doesn't happen again this time. Last year I was working p/t as an independent rep. for a local TA so I could call and check on their where about anytime.
I am a shrimp lover but I do prefer my shrimp to have seasoning on them and served warm not on ice like they do onboard the ship.
Rae, you are going to be so spoiled going on all these cruises so close together. Lucky Girl:bounce:

rae519
03-28-2003, 08:11 PM
Ginger - I love them cold best - with very HOT tasting sauce! YUM!

I figure that while my Mom is still healthy and able to travel, we are going!!! So I have to take Michael and every so often, Tom wants to go on vacation also - so actually, Michael and I are pretty lucky!

I think this way it makes up for the days when we were poor and our biannual trips were from our military base to our parent's home in NY. But you know, I wouldn't have traded going home to see my Mom and Pop for any other place in the world. You just don't know how long you have them (or anyone else) for and you have to take all the advantages you can while they are still alive.
Hence, I keep asking our oldest son to join us but that's not to be. BUT I do keep asking!!!!!

Ginger - did you arrange for a Antigua excursion? Or is that another Ginger?

Rae

Rose_Greenthumb
03-30-2003, 06:58 AM
I'll agree to that Rae but no singing on my own!

I was reading the May thread you started and my birthday's on 17th May!

The competition went really well, we didn't get any negative feedback aside from in Oh Happy Day they were waiting for the gospel to start but when it did in bar 37 it was excellent. We might be getting a gospel singer in to help with it if we get through to the next round.

"Ginger"
03-30-2003, 07:19 AM
Antigua???? I don't know about an excursion to Antigua, maybe you mean Anguilla. We do that excursion on the Eastern Carb. cruise. It's a 20 minute ferry ride from St. Martin. We'll be doing that next year, god willing. Rae you could go to Anguilla while on your May cruise.

Everyone have a great day.

rae519
03-30-2003, 08:50 AM
Emma - you are two days ahead of me (5/19)!! I met Tom on 5/17!!! How significant!! No wonder we get along so well.
Yes, lets come up with a good song to do and see if any more of our DIS Cruisers would like to join in! The more the merrier! And a name, we need a name for our group when we participate!
I like "O Happy Day" - but we do need that strong singer to pull it off!!! Any takers?!

Ginger - Ohhh, did I write that? I did mean Anguilla! My Mom does NOT want to do any excursions, her big thrill is staying on the ship and enjoying the Rainforest. So whatever I do, I have to consider that I may or may not have Michael with me. Might be a good idea to show him another island, this would be our 3rd time at St.Thomas!

Rae

Rose_Greenthumb
03-30-2003, 09:02 AM

rae519
03-30-2003, 09:49 AM
Emma - I'm getting just as excited about this as you are! Don't worry about getting carried away, we can do this and WIN THIS!!!
And I know we can "beg" our other cruisers who choose not to sing to come and vote for us!!! (RIGHT?!)

Tom, Michael and I are signing up for some excursions in August and I'll get back to you all about them when I return. One of them is the Captain Marvin's snorkeling, another is the Dolphin Swim and the last is the horseback riding (just me and Michael for that one).

Yes, I am going to GET INTO THE WATER.

We can indeed Rae but we'll have to hope there aren't too many left to beg because they'll all want to sing! I think my hamster may have eaten my copy of Oh Happy Day!

You'll have to tell us all about the excursions to help us make up our minds about what we want to do!

rae519

Hamsters eat everything. Had a pair - supposed to be both boys! Had the idea they would have fun together - ohhhh, they did - because one of them turned out to be a girl. Babies! Then they got out of the habitrail we had and they were everywhere!!

Andy - you are our "adopted cruiser"! Yes, I really thought of dressing up as a giant shrimp but the costume would need it's own suitcase!!!

Emma - yup, quiet in person but friendly and I guess once I "know" people I do much better - but I'm a writer not a chatter!!! I don't care for crowds at all, so when we do all get together, I will be a bit on-edge! Weird, huh?

Another May baby, huh?! Yup, a May baby for a May baby!!!!!

You know what they say about us May babies, don't you?! We start off slow but catch up quickly!

May 21 is the cut off (Taurus/Gemini).
So Emma and I are Taurus, you and Michael are Gemini's!

I want a Taurus baby, okay?!

Rae,

Same here with me, I could be in a room with 1,000 other people and I feel as though I'm there alone. It's part of my phlegmatic(sp) personality. Once I get to know someone real good, then I can talk at ease, this is what I like about the forum, I find it easier to write what I want to say, then to say it verbally. BTW Rae, I'm a Taurus as well, 4-20-55. My birthday is three weeks from today, Easter Sunday, I guess that's why I'm such a SAINT!!! I also celebrate my birthday with one Adolf Hitler, of course, not the same birth year, he was a few years older than me!!!

Gee, maybe Hazel and I should book a cruise for Halloween this year!!!

Emma - First off, congratulations on this milestone! 1,000 posts and you're still a sweetheart!

Andy - you are also Taurus?! Ohhhh, my! 3 weeks from today, huh! Well, we will have to remember that!!!!!
What's Hazel?
Tom's a Virgo as is our oldest son; Mom's Aries.
Yes, Andy, do think about joining up with us!!!!!!!

Dzneprincess - Hahaha, not eating with a Giant Shrimp! AHAHAHAHAH! Can you see that?! I wish I could get a costume just to see the expression on your face if I did show up in it!!!!

On the other hand, it's really not my style to stick out!!! I blend into the wall better!!!! I'm no party animal either - usually in bed early with a good book (right now I'm into Stuart Woods - he is EXCELLENT!) I never did party much as a kid or even when I was active duty. I like my own company, but do enjoy others more on 1:1 then in a group.
I agree it's so much easier this way to "break the ice" and have something to talk about rather than stumble around and try to find small talk to cover up any nervousness.

I sure do wish Andy and Hazel were going with us - Sheesh, maybe I should start a fund for them like I was teasing to do with Jan!!!

Well, it's time for me to shower and get back to my book!!

Rae have you ever gone to Coral World while you were visiting St, Thomas? We took Ashley there a few years ago, she loved it.

Andy you would love the Halloween Cruise. You could even have my share of the shrimp.

I'm a Leo, August birthday. I don't have any problems getting to know people. Strangers come up to me all the time and start talking to me like they have known me for years. I decided a few weeks ago to go shopping, I needed to be by myself, no kids or husband. I thought I would have a little lunch, the mall was crowded so I just grabbed a slice of pizza and a drink. I found a table and while I was sitting there a well dressed older lady came up and asked if I would mind sharing the table, I replied no not at all. Well 1 hour and a few minute later she and I parted best of buddies. I know that woman whole life story plus the lives of her neighbors. Today I was in the Disney store and I swear I was not in that store 1 minute when this lady came up to me showing me little girls nighties. She starting following me all around the store telling me about her 2 daughters. These kinds of thing happens to me all the time. I guess it's the animal magnetism in me that attract people to me. LOL

I've heard that about you Leo's!!!!! Seems Taurus and Leo have problem getting along - both being animals!!!! I highly doubt that to be the case with us though!!! I'm more of an Elsie the Cow type!!!
Sounds like you are a very good listener and an approachable person, there are so many lonely people in the world that just want to be recognized as a person and be heard. You are very special, and I hope you realize that. My Mom is also that way - she meets the most interesting people, and although she doesn't think so, she makes friends easily!
Just wait til you meet her!

No, didn't do Coral World. Trying to figure out what we are going to do. I'll check into that one. Michael ususally likes to stay with the kids at the Club, but I'd like to show him more than just St.Thomas from the ship!!

I am usually a pretty easy going kind of gal, it takes alot to get my fur to flair.

Coral World has a touch pool, you can handle starfish, sea cucumbers, and other sea creatures in an outdoor pool. My favorite part was feeding the Iguanas. There is a nice beach next to Coral World. Coral World (www.coralworld.com)

I know, I need to sign up with "Shrimp Eaters A.A., U.S.A."
I was just over on the Dixie Crossroads website and I saw they have coming soon a "Mr. Rock" mailbox. I told my DW that, and she said, "Oh no, we're going to have a rock shrimp mailbox out in front of our house." It will look kind of strange living here in New Jersey, considering most people up here don't know what Dixie Crossroads is, let alone, Rock Shrimp.

I am back for 1 quick moment. Andy some folks DH and I know have a large mouth bass mailbox. You should see some of the mailboxes I deliver to. I told DH that I wanted a new mailbox but one that looks like the Disney Magic. When my carrier opens the door to place my mail in it, it will play "When you wish upon a star" lalalalalalala

Hey Rae I forgot to tell you that everyone had their mail by 3:45 yesterday.

Dzneprincess if you promise me that you will not be a B@*$# LOL, I will listen to all your troubles.

O.K. off to bed now. Night Night all:wave:

I read water meters here in town, and one of the residents in our town has one of those large mouth bass mailboxes, I think it's cool looking myself!!!

You Halloween Cruisers beware, here is a photo of Rae stealing someone's Rock Shrimp, she was caught in the act!!!

Andy is definitely our "adopted" cruiser, folks! I hope you are enjoying this picture as much as I am! I nearly fell on the floor laughing then was tearing up so much I could hardly type!!!

Nope, I don't steal from kids - so your son is safe!

I'd love a Rock Shrimp mail box!
Everytime I try to get something cute on our box, it gets broken or stolen. Can't believe that!!

Mail at 3:45PM - that early?! You need to come here and tell "Sparky" how to move it!!

You're packing already?! We never do that until about 2 days before we leave!

Emma - you are smart to wait because when I packed for our 7 nighter in September, it was almost a month ahead of time also and I ended up with 8 pairs of shoes and normally I only take dress shoes and swim shoes besides what I wear! So this was a BIG, BIG, BIG mistake.
You think I should have learned but I am not closing the suitcase, just filling it up!!!

So what's new on your side of the pond?
We are going from great weather to stormy weather lately and it's a real PAIN.

Also, as if I need anymore headaches in my life, my 3 year old BEE windows have mold appearing on the inside of the double panes due to seal breakage! I thought it was just stuff on the outside from the winter but as I started cleaning, I found out it wasn't. Seems like it's always something when you are a homeowner!!! AGGGGHHHH! I definitely need to keep reminding myself that vacation is coming!!!

By the way, Michael wants me to be "Poison Ivy" not "Mother Nature" - wonder if the kid is trying to tell me something about my "not so pleasant" personality lately!!!!

We've had gorgeous weather recently, yesterday and Tuesday weren't so nice but today is lovely again.

I didn't have an exam today so I was off. I just went in for choir at half four and it was so much fun. We were putting movement into some warm ups and stuff and then we added them to Oh Happy Day. Miss Robinson and I were in hysterics!

I'm going to see Chicago in May with school. It's got Marty Pellow in it apparently.

Maybe he thinks you're a very good actress Rae and that's why you'd be able to pull off Poison Ivy

rae519
04-03-2003, 11:56 AM
Emma - you are tooooooo kind. I think he's thinking I'm "evil"!!!! But thank you for that! I like being in Neil Simon plays, and have done a good Southern Negress before (considering I'm a New York caucasian!!).
BUT I am a much better playwright than actress - can you believe that up until a few years ago I was a working Registered Nurse? And before that an Active Duty USAF member?! SHEESH!

I can't believe and am ROLFing at the "Oh Happy Day"! We MUST do this for the ship.

Okay, now this is our request -
ANYONE with ANY KIND of voice
Please help us out with this! We want to sing "Oh Happy Day" for the contest on the ship but need more than just us two!

HELP!

That would be so much fun! We could dress up as mice dressed as nuns...That was an idea my friends and I had of a way we could get through the competition last saturday but nobody would agree.

I remember you saying some stuff about being in plays now and thinking it was funny how everyone tried to do your accent!

rae519
04-03-2003, 08:10 PM
Some how these Hoosiers (native Indiana folk) just can't get the New York accent correct and it's actually quite funny to hear them try.

I miss being on stage but since I've been ill, it's a struggle for me to remember my lines and I only will try for bit parts now. But it's okay, since I enjoy writing so much more!!

By the way, folks, I cut my grass for the first time today. Then put the Miracle Gro down to make more little grasses grow!!!!!!

My dear friends in Vermont told me that they are expecting up to 12 inches of snow coming in soon and here I am working with the daffodils and tulips that are blooming!!!

Annie has arrived!!!!

Driving through town yesterday, and the traffic was at a standstill. This little black and white Pomeranian mix was mindlessly walking among the cars and horn were blowing and people were all upset.

That just T'd me off! So I parked, got out of the car, got the dog and flagged the cars by. Scared, very dirty, little sad eyed dog. I tried to find out if it was owned by anyone but this HICK who was on his lawnmower for his postage stamp grass lawn just said, "Mutt's been around for a while. Nobody knows where it came from. I've been waiting to see it squashed on the street." Ohhh, that REALLY t'd me off even more!!!!

So I drove home with it in my arm and after bathing it and grooming it, the dog is just the most gentle, beautiful little girl!!!! My big dog (golden retriever/shepherd mix) Kira and cat, Mr. Bumpy - both whom I rescued a few years ago are doing well with Annie ("Little Orphan Annie"). Guess we have a new dog now!!!!!

We will be at the Vet's tomorrow and hope that Annie is in good health (she's very skinny under all that hair!)!!!

So much for my weekend, folks! Today is Mom's 74th birthday so we are having a "FEAST"!

I have more patients to see than I have had since fall. That means more paperwork too. It is still a part-time job, but more time than I have had for months.

I spent the weekend at a retreat listening to my favorite author, Liz Curtis-Higgs. FUNNY LADY!! Her website is
www.lizcurtishiggs.com
At her site I found out about some articles she has written in addition to the books I knew about and own already. This one can be viewed on-line at
http://www.moodymagazine.com/articles.php?action=view_article&id=1143
I also found out that today is TARTAN DAY so I went to that site
http://www.tartanday.com/
and also sent TARTAN DAY e-cards to my siblings, cousin and myself from
http://www.scotlandonline.com/communicate/communicate_ecards_view.cfm?category_id=34&site_id=7
We have an ancestor--way-way back--a young lady. Very little claim to Scotland, but it will have to do. A while ago I found the tartan on-line and really like it. Maybe someday I will get a skirt made in it.

I enjoyed reading all the posts as I try to catch-up today.
RAE: Happy MOM's birthday! WELCOME to Annie!
GINGER: We would all like you for a letter carrier!! You are so prompt.
I also am a Pisces--GO HAZEL!!
EMMA: Mice?? Dressed as Nuns? As in Minnie dressed as a Nun to sing the song? Who plays Whoopie Goldberg's part?
My best to the rest of you.

Have a great week,
Jan :earsgirl:

If we don't have any black cruisers, then I think I should volunteer since I have a son who is 1/4 and (AND... I am the one who wants to look like Grace Jones when I get to my final resting place - you know, a tall, thin, flat chested, bald black woman - hey, it's my fantasy folks!!!!

Annie is doing very well. Very calm little dog. Actually spends most of her time on Michael's lap!!! Mother loves her but Michael is not about to give her up!

We had a great time for Mom's birthday and she was so happy to see her presents - we really went overboard AGAIN this year, but when you turn 74 - you have GOT TO PARTY!

I am thinking of doing a curise next year for her birthday and really doing it up right (*no!!! Not Category 1 - that is a bit tooooo much for us! but special!)

So many of our friends are having bad weather and we are due to ice, snow, etc. tonight - I hope that everyone is safe and won't be affected too much by the weather, especially our postal service person Ginger!!!!

Stay safe, warm and happy folks!!!!!

Love to you all!

Hey all fellow cruisers. I am back from my cruise with NCL. There was alot of reading to catch up on. I am at work right now and the kids are napping, so I need to make this a quick one.

RAE: A Happy birthday to your mom! And congrats on the dog. I was never really a big dog lover until we got our miniature daschound two years ago. Now I just love her to death.

Hopefully I will get on my computer this evening and fill you all in on my cruise. All I will say for now is, it was worth the money I spent, but it was DEFINATELY NOT DISNEY!!!!!!:p

Talk to you later.

Thanks for thinkng of me out in the bad weather, but I had off today. Ha! Ha! We've had it all here today rain, hail, sleet, and snow, what an awful day. Yesterday was so beautiful and much warmer, DH washed all the SUV's when he got home from work. I think wasted his time by doing that.

I've been working on cabinets and kitchen designs. I'm still undecided on the cabinets.

I'm glad Annie has made herself at home.

Ashley is playing with her makeup, she just ran in and scared me. She trying to get her lady Vampire face just right.

Ginger - I hope you took a picture of her!

Michael got into white powder a long time ago and came out of the bathroom COVERED - I could have p'd my pants when I saw him - I started calling him "Casper" !!!

Wish I would have taken a picture - it was definitely a Kodak moment!

Annie has been vet checked, scanned for microchips and is a purebred Pomeranian - a rare type called a Party Pom due to her coloration (black and white) - about 6 years old and healthy considering....she will need to be spayed and have her teeth cleaned (they are a mess!) So I have learned the old expression, "There is no such thing as a free dog!"

Good Morning all:wave:
Rae I am glad to hear that Annie is in good health. To bad you are having her spayed I would love to have an Annie puppy.

My kitchen: Well I have not decided on a cabinet manufacture yet but I do have some of the cabinet hardware. Last year while we were at WDW I went shopping DTD. I found in the bath-kitchen store Mickey cabinet knobs and Disney character wall hooks. I didn't get enough for all my cabinets. Sunday I booked our stay at the Radisson before the cruise. I booked Thursday and Friday thinking that I could go over to DTD either before going to the Rad or Friday morning. I told DH that I was going for the Old World Mickey theme for our new kitchen. He just shook his head and laughed at me.

ooo there are some idiots on these boards! I posted my opinion on a thread about Iraq on the teen board because that was what it was there for. It happened to be different to the thread starter's and so it turned into a bit of a debate. So much so that the thread got deleted. Now the guy has posted on the debate board calling us ignorant!

buzz&woody'smom
04-09-2003, 04:39 PM
Don't worry about it. I get in quite a bit of trouble on these boards. It takes all kinds with different opinions to make a world and a democracy. Of course I am American and a Marine wife but don't advocate war but do support our troops and the end to SH's brutal reign against the people of Iraq. I think it is great you are so well read and educated. You will go far in life :)

Anyway, I am back. I have been busy with this darn war, worrying about my DH going, taking care of my neighbors and friends and supporting them anyway I can and planning my surgery for the 22nd.

This SARS thing has me worried :( without a spleen it worries me to travel so I am hoping they get it contained quickly!

I think I finally decided on Nativeway for GC for myself, Chance (5) and my sister and her companion. My parents, MIL and DS )2.5) will be going on DCL excursion that tours the island in the AC'd bus.

Now for Cozumel???

Hope everyone is well :p or at least warm!!!

Got lots to share but feeling very sick today, gang - you know that spring crud (throat, ears, runs).

First off, Emma, those people are the ignorant ones. Same as the ones who yelled at Michael yesterday for touching a cheap timer in a store that I was buying but let two white preteens screw around with an expensive stereo. I was like a Woman Possessed (no jokes here gang!) and I went after them with my claws out and at the top of my voice (remember ex cheerleader AND stage actress) let them know that I felt they were prejudice and allowed those two WHITE kids to run amok but as soon as my son touched the timer I was purchasing snatched it away and made a scene. Well, I made a bigger scene. No one is going to treat my son like a third class citizen, especially when he was both well-behaved and standing right next to me the entire shopping trip.

So Emma, with that off my chest, remember I had my tailfeathers burned over on the Debate board because I opposed the War (all war) not my fellow soldiers who are there, but all war!!! Coming from a Vietnam Veteran who was injured in the line of duty and married to another VV who was also injured in the line of duty and retired, I have EVERY right to believe what the heck I believe and to blazes with those ignorant ones who call me "unpatriotic".

I have always supported the American soldiers and will continue to do so. And as a military wife, I support "buzz&Woody's Mom" wholeheartedly - there is nothing harder than being the spouse of an active duty member and have to be both father and mother to children AND always worry about the spouse. Hardest job in the military, the military wife.

With that tyrade over, Emma, you are okay - they are the ignorant ones, so don't let them sweat you. Right Tiff?! We know the types!

Carolyn - I'll fix it tomorrow when Tom can help me. I messed up the 5/3 cruise list and have to do that one also. Definitely not my thing!!!

Got a long ANNIE story for you will share that later, have to get ready for MD. Figured that if I didn't nip this after two days of trying to cure it, I don't want it on the cruise!

Take care all
Rae

Annie has parvo. She's at the vet's being taken care of.
Seems the scumbag who said he owned her a few days ago is an ex-convict running a puppy mill and insisted she was "newly purchased and a year old and in perfect health" - well, vet said otherwise and long story made short, he got nasty on the phone and told us to ****ourselves and keep the **** dog.

So we are. Now we have to just pray that she get through this horrible virus. It is fatal without treatment and highly contagious. But fortunately our other animals are current on their vaccinations. So this "free" dog is turning out to be a bit expensive, but what the heck - God didn't put her in my path for nothing!!!

Been sick myself here - now have insomnia due to medication - so what's to do at 3AM Friday morning?! Not much!

Looks like some nice weather here for the weekend - hope the rest of you are having it also!

You continue to amaze me with your kindness and love for all. I agree with you about the prejudice that is inflicted on the minority in this country, espcially our young african americans. Good for you for standing up for your son and the best thing to do is speak your mind as you did.

I am so glad you saved the dog too and Happy B. Day to your DM :)

I can not stand people who judge based on color or someone's sexuality. Who in the heck gives us that right. Last time my name was Tiffiny Anderson not Tiffiny GOD Anderson.........

Just like I said Emma, those people that were mean are ignorant. When someone resorts to name calling that usually means they have nothing to back up their useless thoughts!!!

Ginger-I love the idea for the kitchen and remember seeing decorations for a kitchen in a Disney catalog.

Dena-Where did your NCL cruise go? Hope it was fun!

We should hear something today about DH but if this goes according to plan the USMC will be 1 month late in making their decision about my DH...........which in this case is ok with me ;)

Off to coral my little nightmares they are playing "pirates" in the family room and the baby (Cade) seems to be on the losing end :confused

Sheesh, Tiff! I'm no Mother Theresa!!!! Actually some people think I'm a pretty tough drill sergeant!!!!!! Must be that New York/USAF personality!!!!

Annie is holding her own at the vet's. She has a very low white blood cell count but still hanging on. I do hope she makes it and we will know more each day.

RE: prejudice - I have always fought tooth and nail for the underdog, whether it was a poor kid at school or a racial thing. I hate bigots or people who lump an entire race together because of one or two people/incidents. Sheesh! There are so many good, kind and wonderful people in the world but the stupid ones just make it more challenging.

DH is outside waiting for me with a shovel in his hand Ha! Ha!

Don't worry Rae if you can't dump on us who can you dump on. I had a pretty awful day yesterday myself. We was really late running my route, not going right kind of day. DH and I were suppose go to an awards dinner for the drivers of the Aberdeen Frito-Lay plant and our DD's Godmother and Godfather were going to take her for us. Her Godfather was operated on last week for a stomach anuerism and yesterday he had a blockage and had to be rushed to the hospital. The hospital he was taken to could not help him so they had to fly him to another hospital where they perform surgery to remove the blockage. He's doing better now, Thank You God.

Yes today is going to be much better for all of us.

I would love to say yes to the Brunch but I promised DH that this cruise was going to be for us. I'll talk to him and see what he says, I'll get back to you on that O.K..

Enjoy your day.

So very sorry to hear about your DD's Godfather but very glad to hear that he is doing better. Yes, thank God!!!! I don't know how people without faith can get along in life - seems like it would be impossible since I have such a strong faith.

Just tell DH that I will promise not to steal his shrimp if he comes to brunch. Mom will be with me and believe me, she's still MY MOM - in every sense of the word!!!

I think I'm going to get Tom to come outside with me and do some stuff!!!!!

Sorry I haven't been posting much to this thread. Sometimes it seems as if you all have your own private conversations going on, and I don't want to intrude;)

Other times I am just to darn lazy to hit reply and type something out  I have roughly 3 weeks left til my EDD of 05/03/2003..Rae that means 3 weeks left til your may cruise:bounce: I am still miffed that you are going without us, BTW

My dad called me yesterday and wanted to know if they could come for a visit next week. As if he had to ask, LOL. Well my mother and I have been going thru a 'thing" since June. We haven't spoken since then, so that will be akward, oh well. I will be some 39 weeks pregnant by then, I will be too miserable to care! LOL

I finally am on maternity leave! Geesh! I am sooo tired. I will definetly not go in this week, but I am expecting to hear by Friday whether or not my short term disability benefits are approved. If they are not, then I will have to go back to work :-( My case manager was acting like she wasn't going to approve me. She said unless my DR put me on complete bedrest, that she would not be able to approve me.....sucks huh? One of the downsides of working for a LARGE corporation as opposed to working for a "boss"

Well enough about me, sorry. HOw is everyone else's day to day life coming along?

Emma-I am so sorry to hear about your Mum. I HATE drunk drivers and hope that they caught him or her and she recovers very quickly.

Dzineyprincess-I went out on maternity leave at 36 weeks and this was in California before we moved to NC and my Doctor was begging me to go out bc my DH was deployed, I worked full time as a Loan Officer and had our house and 3 year old all to myself. I was under the impression that if the Doctor said you needed to go out then you needed too. You may need to get your OB to be more forceful in a letter or a call to the HR lady bc that is not how my STD worked.

Good luck and hello to all!!!!

I have a busy week so Happy Easter and yes my DH is still here and it looks like he will get to stay with the great progress the troops made in Iraq over the past 2 weeks. And I was crying with joy when they found the 7 POWS today:Pinkbounc

Never Rae! I didn't mean it to sound like that...not at all. Just wanted to explain why I hardly ever post, little anti-social thing that I am! LOL I enojy reading everyone's posts. I think we have a pretty good group of people going on our cruise with us!

buzz&woody'smom: believe you me I am ready to be out. My DR, after delivering 3 of my previous children, still does not feel like he is totally on my side. If ya KWIM? I continue to go to him out of habit. I am not sure he would say I needed to be out on bedrest, just to get me out of work. The problem comes in, that I can stay out if I want to, it won't count against me, because of FMLA. However I will not get paid :-( I can not afford to not be paid for 3 weeks b4 birth, as well as 5 weeks after the 5 paid weeks I get when I have the baby. I am going to stay out until he is 10 weeks old, and I only get paid for the 1st 5 weeks for a norm vag birth. ( OK had to edit the whole word LOL apparently that word is too risque for the disboards)

I too am sooooooo glad that our troops have found 7 POWS. It just seems to going so well now, (at least for us not over there) that it is making me a little leery. Seems it is going a little too easy..anyone else feel that? Or am I just the strangest worry wart around? LOL

Anyways, now that I will be at home for awhile, I am sure that you all will be hearing a lot more from me :-) I really didn't mean to come off as complaining about cliques in my post, my apologies to anyone that took it that way. BTW Rae, you can steal all the shrimp you want from me and my DH LOL I only like crab meat! Does the Magic serve any crab?

Glad to know hubby stays put, Tiff! Yes, our soldiers have made great progess in freeing the Iraqi. I was glad to see the nice welcome the injured received from everyone when they arrived. Vietnam was so different in so many ways - the public didn't understand that the American soldier is just that a soldier who does what s/he is ordered to do. We just do our job whatever it is.
Makes me proud to be an American!!!

Talking about pregnancy, ladies -----I had multiple hospital stays due to problems with my pregnancy in 1980. Chris was born at 28 weeks gestation (normal is 40) at 2lbs, 13 1/2 ounces and 15 inches length. Called a "feed and grow" premie because he didn't require any ventilation and was just kept under the radiant warmer to control his body temp (no fat built up at that age).
Now he is normal and healthy. I had to lie in the Trendelenburg position (feet and legs up) for weeks to maintain the pregnancy and for a while couldn't get out of bed for anything (even bathroom!!!)
We do what we have to do to save lives, especially if that life is inside us!!!!

I am so excited about dzneprincess's upcoming delivery on our cruise date!!!!!! It's going to drive me nuts to find out how my little "Rae Jr." is!!

Can't remember seeing any crab on the menu but we do get lobster!!!

So you can't put the word "vag...a" on the forum?! Ohhhh! I never thought of that as a WORD - being an anatomical term I am surprised. I taught my kids the words as they are used in medical practice - and kept all the "cutesy" words out. My parents were so embarassed!!!! Oh well! What do they expect? "Wee wee" or "tinkey"!! SHESH!

What??? No crab??????None? Nada? Zilch? WAHHHH Rae, I can't believe you had to lay like that for so long? WOW I hope you hold it over his head to this very day as a guilt trip! LOL

BTW buzzandwoodysmom, I forgot to say I am happy for you that your DH doesn't have to go anywhere for the time being! :Pinkbounc I am sure that you are ecstatic!

It wasn't very comfortable but it gave me time to read complete works by authors - something that I do now quite prolifically. I select one author, get his first book then read through til his last one.

Jeffrey Archer, Clive Cussler, Harold Robbins - right now I'm on Stuart Woods and in "reading heaven". I don't watch TV hardly at all, but you can't find me without a book whereever I am!!!!

Good Morning all

Wow!!! You all just chatted away yesterday while I was planting those blueberry bushes. I did get my herb garden in too. We have to move alot of flowers and shrubs so we can enlarge our deck. It's a problem because of trees and under ground springs causing spots to be much to wet to plant things.

Rae DH said you could have all of his shrimp, he likes his shrimp served warm and seasoned with Old Bay.

Emma I am so glad that your Mom was not hurt worse than she was. She's a very lucky lady. Please tell her I wish her a speedy recovery.

"BabyPrincess" Dzneprincess I gave you a new name, LOL just butt in and tell us what's happening. I do remember seeing, I think they were, cracked stone crab claws on the Seafood buffet. BTW can I butt in? Make up with your Mom, you'll know why I said this later on in your life. Hang in there only a few more weeks to go.

Tiff YAHOO!!!! I'm happy for you.

Rae, might I suggest these authors if you have not already read them?
Patricia Cornwell-almost all about a Forensic Coroner named Kay Scarpetta/all very very good books! I think she has 2 or 3 out not about Kay, and the only one I enjoyed that wasn't about her was Isle of Doggs! Great and funny read!

Also James Patterson, I really like all of his, they almost all also are about Detective/Psychiatrist (sp?) Alex Cross, and if you have seen Kiss the Girls and Along Came a Spider movies then you have been introduced to this character.

The other one of my favs is Johnathan Kellerman, also with a recurring character, Psychiatrist Alex Delaware :-)

Can you tell I like recurring characters?? LOL I absolutley LOVE reading!!! I can really get into a book, in fact, these days the only time I get to do it is when I take a bath! LOL I get irritated when I am removed from my story by one of the kids! YOu all know, Mom can't go anywhere with privacy :-) ( And I like the way it sounds the English way, or so I think...PRI-VA-CEE short I :-) Sounds more fancy that way ;-p

Ok Ginger, if there are no crab claws, at least, I hope you know one of you will have some bring me some back from one of our ports

:o ;)

I am a princess afterall, and I can't tend to myself:smooth: Just ask my dearest of DH's :-) BTW, about my mom, when she comes this way, we will see what happens. I am over our incident already, I just would rather forget about it and move on, that is the type of person I am. BUT, she on the other hand will probably want to talk about it and analyze it and yadda yadda yadda! LOL Without writting a novel here, and boring you all with the details, I had and have some valid issues with her, and she with me, I am sure. I have just come to a resolve that we will never agree on these things, and want to agree to disagree........In June, I wrote her letter, (in repsonse to a very hurtful one she sent me) that pretty much spelled out my issues, and also said pretty much agree to disagree. I have heard nothing from her since, so I have just let it go. OK, Ginger already you are being my therapist! LOL I'll hush now ;-p

Not much going on except trying to get more time into these next 16 days than I have!!!!

Thanks for the book recommendations, I will get to them shortly.
Again, I read fast and love to read. More than talk!!! Imagine that!

Hey, did your TA make sure we are linked for our Dining reservations? Just to be on the safe side!!!!

How is Rae Jr. doing? Any plans to show up before our cruise on May 3?!

Annie is home!!!

She is very tired and weak but the vet said she made it and just has to have rest and a lot of TLC!!! Not too hard when she's a laid back lap dog to begin with!!!

The vet bill totalled $706.00 - but there is a reason for Annie to have been brought into our lives and maybe it's not clear to us now, but someday.......

Anyway, thanks for your notes and prayers for the little dog - it all worked!!!!

I am hand feeding Annie right now - she's still pretty weak and very nervous but does lick my fingers for her food. Maybe she'll start to trust us enough to begin to eat out of her bowl soon. It all takes time and just angers me to think someone abused her so much as to make her afraid to give into her hunger!!!

A "furbaby"? Ohhh, I love it!!!!!

Yes furbaby! LOL That is what my papillion was supposed to be, when I wanted so badly to have him. He was going to be my replacement baby! To keep from wanting one more child! Well he was just a few months too late! LOL SO now I have a furbaby, and a real baby on the way ;-) ALso it just dawned on me that I didn't tell you all that I got a new vehicle! WE had a 2002 Oldsmobile Bravada (exact body type as the Envoys and Trailblazers) but it only had seating for 5 :-( I only had the car for 1 year, and I really loved it, but we wadn't gon' fit! SO last Sat we went and got a 2003 Expedition! I really like it alot, it is so nice to have all that room. But I am still getting used to driving that huge thing. In fact, my silly co-worker calls it a Ford Subdivision! hehe I really like it alot, like I said but not the added car payment  I really didnt want to pick up more of a car payment, but what'cha gonna do? I gotta have a vehicle that can carry the whole family, ya know? And there was no way, after getting used to luxury of my Bravada , that I was going to be back to the dreaded (EEEK) minivan...............dun dun dun (scary music here) So does anyone here own a subdivision? If so how do you like it?

A Ford subdivision! Ohhhh, that's just too funny!

I have a Montana and Tom has a Blazer, and of course, Mom has her Lincoln Towncar.

What I want is a black 1973 'cuda again!

Hi all,

? if the Ford Expedition is a Subdivision then what is the Ford Excursion a Township? Congratulations on your new vehicle. LOL I love my 2002 Ford Excursion Limited "diesel", so big and roomy. We laugh and tell people that we are driving our living room.

Glad to hear the Annie is doing better. How old is Annie? Did you know that you can buy Doggie Health Insurance, around $125. a year so I've been told.

So has everyone dyed their Easter eggs? We are going to do ours tomorrow. We got Ashley the new Harry Potter DVD and a Scooby-Doo tape, "The Reluctant Vampire" and of course a ton of candy that she does not need.
Well off to Costco buy those eggs.

Have a great day all.

Dyed their easter eggs?! Would someone care to enlighten me?

The weather's been really gorgeous here the last few days, way above the average temperatures for this time of year. Unfortunately it's set to change next week.

We own a subdivision and love it. My DH drives it now. I actually had one of those new really cute Toyota Rav 4's that is little and sporty and then came along our surprise baby #2 so I needed more room. I SWORE to everyone I would NEVER drive a mini van but guess what is in the garage :)

Last August I finally just had enough of not having enough room and went shopping. I had decided on the Explorer since we have an Expedition but it did not come with a entertainment system which was #1 important to me :p

I was sick of lugging the 9 inch TV/VCR combo for trips bc it seems I am always going somewhere......my parents live 3 hours away, my sister 3 hours the other way, and still my MIL 3 hours another way. So I decided on the Ford Windstar SLE.

That mini van is the BEST thing I have done. It has the captain chairs in the 2nd row and a third row. I am now an official geek but I told my DH the other once mini van you won't go back. I just went this morning to a Doctor's appointment that was 140 miles RT and took my 22 month with me. I popped in Bob the Builder videos and he screamed tractor the whole way :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

Emma - we have a custom of hardboiling eggs and placing them in colored dye. My family (the Russian/Polish side) would take hot wax to make designs on eggs, then dye them. Very intricate and delicate patterns. I never had the eye, hand or patience to be any good at this art - but my grandmother was an artist and did many fabulously intricate colored eggs.

Generally, the eggs are hidden (by the Easter Bunny) and children hunt for them in the grass.

I have the tradition of taking the plastic colored eggs, putting candy inside then hiding them in the house.

Also part of my tradition from that side of my family, is the after Church meal of cold kielbasa, cheese, hardboiled eggs and horseradish. Later we have the ham dinner. My Aunt made a wonderful Easter cheese that I keep saying I am going to make but have only made once in my life! But it is delicious and excellent with hot horseradish. My uncle used to make the horsereadish by hand!

I haven't gotten the green paint chip from the store yet. But I will.
Sounds like a good idea!

Oh my Gosh!!!! I just had the yummiest chocolate cover dipped strawberries. You know like the kind they have onboard.
Ashley and I where at Costco yesterday, they were demo'ing Dulci Frutta and fresh strawberries. I bought a box of the big red juicy strawberries and the Dulci Frutta. I just made some of them up, OH!!! they are so good and easy to do.

We are going to be busy little bunnies, LOL, with the hoilday for the next couple of days so I would like to say "Happy Easter" to all now.

I sure would if I could. They suggest eating them within 12 hours of making them. If you're going to be staying at the Radisson the night before the cruise I will make them for you there. I reserved a 2 kingbed suite for the 23rd & 24th.

Got those eggs dyed, boy are they ulgy, Ashley dipped them in ervery color.
