AKL, use 1/2 points and pay cash for rest???

Can you use some points towards a room at AKL and pay the remainder with cash?

I'm confused by your question. If it is can you stay some night on points and some on cash the answer is yes. Make sure you book cash ressie through DVC though, it is the only way to link the ressies so you don't have to check in and out. Also there could be a DVC discount.

If the question was i.e. the room is 22 points per night and I only have 8 points left, the answer is no. Each night is either all cash or all points.

There is no DVC room discount for cash except at DVC resorts, and even then it is relatively rare.

If you don't want to borrow from next year (or are maxed out already:p ) you can usually pick-up a few extra points easily on the rent/trade board.

The cash ressie are a killer (mine was $497 v 22 points until I finally thankfully got off the waitlist). IMHO it is cheaper to do a 25 point add-on;)
