I really can't stand these shows. My sister-in-law watches them like they are the most important thing in the world. I find them boring and ridiculous. Its obvious that these Hollywood "stars" don't live on the same planet as the rest of us.

No offense to those of you who like this stuff, but I just don't get it. Anyone else?

I'm with you Tina! As far as I'm concerned we should take the Awards and Reality show people and have them switch places with the Superbowl players. You'd then have a couple shows worth watching! LOL!:bounce:

Dont watch them either.... GAG GAG and TRIPLE GAG...

Fashion, beauty, celebrity... come on bring in down to earth people...

I would rather see them give the money used to throw these gala popularity contests.. (really thats all they are...) and give the money to the poor/undervalued... they could really use the money! (stepping off soapbox now)!

I don't like them either, never have. What really gets me, is that they give these "baskets" to the presentors filled with thousands of dollars worth of items. For pete's sake, I think they can afford to buy these items for themselves. Wouldn't it be nice if they took the money that are spent on these "baskets" and give it to charity. Just imagine how many people that amount of money would feed at a homeless shelter?

I don't think I have ever watched one. Just don't have any desire to.

I rarely watch them. I think most of them are rigged anyway. But if someone I like to watch is going to be on there, I might watch it until I see if they say my name or something.;) But I don't set my schedule just to watch the show.

You are right... why give gifts? Why not BIG donations to charity?

I dare even to say this, but the publicity for the donation would be better than the publicity for the stuff in the baskets....

I've been told that the presenters dont get "paid" for thier appearance as a presenter, they are sort of "volunteering"... but in exchange of thier "volunteerism"... they get the basket as a thank you.

(How much of that is true, I don't know... )

I don't watch them either. Most of the people involved seem to have an over inflated sense of self-importance.

I never watch them, they just aren't interesting to me. My sister loves them, though :)
