View Full Version : Doctors visit at WDW
We are leaving tomorrow AM and one of my children has not really been up to par. We took him to the doctor on Thursday and she found nothing.
Just wondering has anyone had to visit the doctor while at WDW?
Location? Things I should know?
Any help would be great

We needed a doctor six years ago for my DS. At the time, Disney had a medical service on site. The doctor made a "house visit". It was very convenient and easy.
They ask you to pay up front and then submit to your insurance company.
I don't know if the service still exists or if the procedure has changed.

They do have someone that will make room calls 24 hours/day. When I called and thought I had a kidney stone (12/2001), they told me to go to ?Centra Care? (something like that) who then sent me to Celebration Hospital which looked like a resort! I was able to get a prescription that AKL faxed and the pharmacy delivered for an additional $5. I had good thoughts about the system.
When I was there 01/01/03- different resort, they still had someone listed as making room calls. I got an upper respiratory infection and should have called :)

I don't know about on site doctors visits, but there is a Centra Care (walk in clinic) at the front of downtown disney on Apopka Vineland (535) Right by the goodings shopping center, right past I-4 on the left.
We used Centra Care in December when our DS2 got really sick at WDW. The Doctor was wonderful. Very patient and did a really thorough exam. They also have a pharmacy right on site so we didn't have to go to a walkin pharmacy. And, the best part, we just got the insurance statement and it turned out they were part of our PPO network so most of the visit was covered.
Great!!!! Thanks to all and have a great weekend!!!

There is also at least one pharmacy that will deliver to the resorts. DS was ill when we were there over Christmas. I called my family doc at home, who called in a prescription and it was delivered right to us. Delivery was a little slooow...time drags when you have a sick child at Disney world...but it was a good experience. Guest services was very helpful providing numbers and such. Good luck!!! Hope you don't have to use this info!!!
