We will be celebrating my niece's 3rd bday and she wants to see Mickey so we decided to do a character dinner. Which restaurant would you recomend in MK, Epcot or at Chef Mickeys ??????

I checked and there's Liberty tree Tavern in MK, does anyone have any insight on what type of meals are served, it doesn't seem like a buffet, or Garden Grill Restaurant at Epcot and then there's Chef Mickeys ?

LTT has a family style meal, similar in style to the Garden Grill. At LTT, you will get salad, with strawberry dressing, rolls w/honey butter, a platter of meats, with turkey, pork chops (or ham), and roast beef, mashed potatoes, gravy, stuffing, Stouffer's Mac & Cheese, and veggies. The food was okay - tasted like cafeteria food! We went before MVMCP and the characters were dressed in Colonial garb - we had Goofy, Pluto, Minnie, Chip and Dale, but no Mickey!

We've only been to the Garden Grill for the ice cream social, but we loved it! We had Farmer Mickey, Pluto and Chip and Dale.

All that said, I would vote for Chef Mickey's for a birthday girl who wants to see Mickey! The buffet is good - awesome potatoes! They have a buffet, with lots of kid's items for a fussy 3 year old. They will bring her a decorated birthday cupcake, and if she wants, she can visit the dessert station to make her own as well! Every 30 minutes or so, Mickey leads the room in their own party! We had Goofy, Mickey, Minnie, and Pluto that I can remember - it's great! She'll think the whole party is for her.

Wow thanks for the info !! I was inclined to CM instead of LTT but just wanted to confirm my thoughts !!!

I also made reservations for the ice cream social at Epcot I wasn't even aware that it existed !!!!

We've been to all and I'd really suggest Chef Mickey's for a 3yo b-day. Both Garden Grill and Liberty Tree are served family style with a limited menu that your 3 yo might not enjoy. The atmosphere at Chef Mickey's is also more festive. The ice cream social can be hit or miss depending on your expectaitons. We were disappointed and won't do that again!

Chef Mickey's get my vote. They actually say it's a party so she would have a blast. They get to ice & decorate a cup cake normally w/Goofy. Plus the buffet food (dinner) is great! Mickey, Minnie, Chip & Dale, Pluto and sometimes Donald are the characters.:Pinkbounc :bounce:

Another vote for Chef Mickey's. You can't go wrong celebrating a 3 year old's birthday with Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, Pluto, Chip and Dale! I like the atmosphere at Chef Mickey's, it's very festive and fun.

We did the Ice Cream Social in September. It was fun but I don't know if we will do it again. We saw Mickey (he came around twice) and chip and dale. It was a nice break from the park and the ice cream was ok.
