I've been on the Dis boards for over 2 years now and I didn't even notice the Scrapbooking boards before now, lol.

Nice to see another favorite hobby of mine here!

I'm a Close To My Heart consultant (stamping and scrapbooking), so I feel right at home here! :)

Welcome, and I hope you enjoy being here with us. I kind of think of us as a close knit group of friends by now.

Welcome Melrosgirl,

Maybe you can help us learn some techniques for using stamping in our albums. Some of us have started dabbling in embossing. It's been sort of trial and error. I'm sure there are other techniques you could introduce us to.

Again I say welcome,
chessie

Hi :)

Hmmm...lol...my best tip on embossing (I'm presuming you mean wet embossing) is to use a dryer sheet on your project first to help eliminate some of the embossing powder from adhering to the wrong places. Then after you sprinkle your powder onto it, shake off any excess powder, then you should have very little powder in the not to be embossed places. If you do have some, simply remove it with a dry paintbrush. Heat as usual.

I hope that makes some sense!

Nice to be here!

Someone asked about layout artwork...I don't have any on my website now, but I sometimes do. Right now I mainly have some card samples on my artwork page which is under construction, so there's not a ton there right now. Those cards are done with rubber stamps.

Hi! I like your website, and the layouts you have posted are really nice! I'm new to stamping, but I've been scrapbooking for over 3 years and love paper piecing. I'm getting ready to quit my full time job to be a SAHM again, but will be selling paper piecings and page kits on ebay for a part time job. I've been selling on ebay for over a year here and there, so I'm excited to get to do it again! I'd love to learn more about stamping, so feel free to share ideas!;) I considered being a CTMH consultant a few months ago, or a Stampin Up one, but haven't really pursued either one...do you like it?

Yes, Snow White, I really do like it. CTMH treats their consultants really well, and I find it to be a fun "job." It's always fun to teach others to stamp or scrapbook...although I don't do a lot of home shows. Mostly internet sales actually for me. (I signed up originally because I wanted a discount on the albums...I love the CTMH leather albums.)

hth :)

Thanks for the dryer sheet tip. Stray powder seems to be a common problem, especially when I am doing a larger area.
