would you use EA again? would you share your experience?

Excuse me but that's really not a good question. Since EA doesn't cost anything (the card is currently free and you can still use any valid discount you want) there isn't any down side to using it. Not everyone gets an extra upgrade but it is very convenient.

If we had to pay for the card your poll might be of interest.

lewisc,
i think mky is asking about emerald aisle cars and using the ea instead of the typical car rental procedures of going to the counter:p

Mkymouse4ever, don't worry about asking a question that someone may consider to be "not a good question".
All questions are good questions. As I see it, you wanted to see if people like using Emerald Aisle. Whether it is free may or may not have an impact on a person's experience with it. Most people seem happy not to have to go to the counter.

Again. don't hesitate to ask your questions. :D

We've used EA 2 times now and both times our rentals cost less than 130.00. The first time we got a mini van and second time a Mitsubishi convertible. Just used it in Vegas too and got a Sebring convertible. Service for the most part has been decent and you can't beat not having to stand in line!

I will be using them for the first time next week but I've heard nothing but great things about them from veterans. I will let you know what my experience is.

Have had very positive experiences. Just back from a weekend in Las Vegas where we had a nice Toyota Camry. There were also a lot of LeSabres and Olds Intrigues on the Aisle when we arrived at midday Friday. Bypassing the counter is the greatest.

My DW just joined the EC as well, since National is not charging the extra driver fee for EC members. It used to be that your spouse could drive the car without such a charge (was still like that in January when we were last in FL), but now that has been changed so the (free) EC membership was the way to go.

I returned about a month ago. We arrived on a Saturday around noon and there were about 10 or 15 full size on the aisle and 2 pickups. No SUV's or Vans. I picked a Lumina with about 1000 miles on it. I got a Camry with about 200 miles on it in December, there were also convertibles & SUVS available. When I was there in February, there were lots of vans. So it can vary widely. It's the luck of the draw. But there's really not a downside, you are guaranteed at least what you reserved. There used to be a discount for being an Emerald Club member (20% at one time), but they are no longer giving it. I use Disney Club instead.

I don't seem to be able to get the Disney Club discount with the EAmembership. I am sure I am missing some thing. I have no idea how to get the /DC discount. what is the coupon # I should put in? please help I am getting an intermediate size rental for $145 per week. Maybe that is the best discount I can get. Thanks for any help.

On the disney club web site there is a coupon to print up then you put the # starts with the 5 in the spot that says Id # it gets you about a 20% discount. We reserved a full size at 130.00 a week in sept. But this was about 1 1/2 months ago. now the price is at 147.00. E-mail me if you need to for the number but you have to have the coupon too or they won't give you the discount. mky;)

Anytime we travel, we use EA with National!!!! My DH travels for a living, "lucky him" and that's the ONLY rental agency he uses. Quick, easy, convenient and usually an upgraded vehicle.

Each time we have used the EA, we have gone directly to the aisle and had some very nice choices of cars - have used vans and intermediates. I can't think of an easier way to rent in Orlando.

The only downside I can see with using EA is for those of us who are couples without kids, who don't really care about the style of the car and want to save some money. Unfortunately you can't book economy through EA.

That being said, YES it's worth the extra money for us! You should have seen my DH drooling when he was able to get behind the wheel of a Chevy Blazer, had we known, we would have brought CD's!

Everyone wish upon a star that there's a convertible waiting for us at 7pm Sunday in September!

If you only want to pay for Economy, Emerald Club is still an advantage because you can then use Emerald Choice. Emerald Choice would allow you to bypass the counter and then pick your car from the Economy Aisle. I hate waiting in that line at the counter! You just want to be on your way to WDW!

I can't seem to get emerald choice up on the screen of their web site. Is this still available? thanks mky:p :p

Some areas do not have Emerald Choice. When you click on the car type, right under it, it will read Emerald Choice, Emerald Aisle or Counter. I know that MCO airport has Emerald Choice, but the Walt Disney World Car Care Center doesn't have the Emerald Choice option.

We used EA for the first time in Feb. and loved it. There were a few SUV's, some vans, and a lot of sedans, but the one we chose was a Chrysler Sebring convertible, red with a tan leather interior. DH thought he'd died and gone to heaven and at first wouldn't believe me when I told him that we certainly could take THAT car. I had to get one of the attendants to verify for him!!!! It only had 35 miles on it, and now DH wants one when we turn in our Honda next summer.

We have a ressie with EA for the end of July, and are hoping to find another fun toy waiting for us. But whatever we end up with, not waiting in line will definitely be a bonus!!!!

Thanks for the tip about the Emerald Choice economy reservation DebbieB! Never thought of that. I'll have to keep that in mind for those cheapie vacations!
