View Full Version : How much cash to bring for 3-day?

I just booked on the Wonder for three days. It'll be our very first cruise.
I understand that most of the cruise items can be charged to your stateroom and settled with a CC. I think we'll also put the end-of-cruise tipping on the CC. However, with my wife, myself, and three teen girls, how much actual cash should I bring onboard and for what? In other words, what MUST, or should, be paid with cash.

That's it - ALL items on board are purchased using your KTTW card & cash isn't accepted. You will need cash in the ports and for stamps at the Castaway Cay post office (even the shops there take your card only as payment).

Agree with tips - but the tips are:
The baggage handlers before and after the cruise.
Plus, if your driving parking is $10 a day, but can be put on a credit card, not the Disney KTTW, but reg Visa/MC.

The baggage handlers: About $2 per baggage item handled. We tipped $5 to carry 2 suitcases and 1 carryon sized bag.
Room Service: This was hard bc there are no prices to do a percentage of! We seem to have handed the person about $3-$5 every time they came up.
I also tipped the girl who braided DD's hair (15% of the $30 service) and the girl in the spa (same percentage) in cash.
You won't need much. All told, we took $200 cash on our 7 day Western, and in the airport on the way home, counted that we had $93 left.
