Hi all...
Santa brought my DD some walkie talkies for Christmas.. they are 2 way radios with a 2 mile radius... has anyone used these aboard ship before?
Just wondering if they will work on the Wonder?
Thanx

Your success in using the 2-ways will depend on if you have the type that has the subchannels...This enables you to have more of a private conversation with your other party, w/o interference.
We tried the 2 ways a few years ago w/o the subchannels, and they worked very poorly. Also, there was alot of static and dead spots in certain places on the ship

We used walkie talkies with multiple channels in Sept on the Wonder. They work pretty good. There are places that you get a lot ot static. I liked the comfort that my DD had her walkie talkie and we could get her if needed.

:D
We bought a pair of Motorola T289 TALKABOUT'S, for the Eastern Cruise that we took in April 02.
On sale they cost $39 (Radio Shack) plus rechargeable batteries.
My husband was skeptical, with all of the steel & metal.
First thing we are packing, is our walkie talkies, when we go do the Eastern again on 2/22/03.
No matter where we were on the Magic, they worked great.
I got lost in St Martin's, rang up my DH, and got found.
