I think I need several sailaway drinks! No Docs today. Maybe it will take a little longer since we live way over on the opposite side of the country. In fact, we are so far removed from the rest of the country that our Docs will be arriving via pack mule!

Doc watch continues.

Beano - I need you to refresh my memory. Was it the first person to get their Docs the one to buy the first round or was it the last person?
Paul

First person to get their docs buys the first round, and last person to get their docs never buys anything ! LOL
Works for me anyway, since I always get mine last!

My docs are here. Doing the happy dance! :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc
Beano-What's this about not buying anything? I could have sworn that you promised mudslides and sailaway drinks. ;)

I have a question for all you lucky holders of docs...... Did any of you have a certain category (GTY) and get an upgrade, or did you get the category you were originally guarenteed (GTY).
nicurnc
09-11-2003, 03:34 PM
And just a little jealous;)
How exciting...starts to feel so real when you see your name!
Perchinski- don't have mine yet, as you probably guessde, but I'll keep my fingers crossed for you!
It's a good thing last person doesn't buy...that'll probably be me! We have added too our crew... again. Brian is the latest addition, so our docs needed to be reworked.
Still have not received ANYTHING in the way of confirmation from my TA..so I finally called DCL to make sure they received payment and we actually were booked:)
It's all good, but what's up with my TA:confused: Don't think he'll get any more of my business!
Loretta
Rena - We booked a category 6 guarantee and that's the type of room we have. We booked through DCL so we were able to check our reservations online. I knew our stateroom number before the docs arrived.
Loretta - How many in your group now - 6? Who's your latest addition?
tchrmom
09-11-2003, 04:13 PM
I CLEARLY remember that MY DCL video stated that the LAST person to receive their docs buys sailaway drinks.
(drags blender out, again. Pulls Coors light ffrom fridge for Beano, to help him wait on Mr. UPS)
Spud.would that be a yellow bird for you........or a beer, like Beano?
Disneyana-----I'll assume you want the same.
(Don't forget the mudslides Beano!)
As for getting our room..........we got the room we requested while we were on the 1st cruise. No upgrades or surprises here. Maybe Beano, you didn't get your docs yet beacuse they have REALLY bumped you up!!!!!!!!;)
BeanoC
09-11-2003, 04:49 PM
tchrmom - I don't think that's the reason, since we have been on the waitlist for an upgrade for a year now... but it's a great thought! :)
Well, the UPS man came to the door last night... with a package from JCPenney's.
So still no docs ! Not even for our Wonder cruise, which is a week earlier! Oh well...

I was a little upset at first, but we're gonna have a great time, and I want them to a wonderful vacation as well.

#1: If the weather is nice, there's lots of room on the verandah.
#2: We can move all the furniture out into the hallway! (j/k)
#3: We'll just uninvite Tim and Kamy to make room for 2 more.

I wish we could even decide on excursions!
Has anyone been to Coral World on St. Thomas? I was thinking that might appeal to our whole group...looks like there is lots to do there. Wonder how easy it would be to do on our own? Do we try and rent a vehicle ahead of time? Plus, DD wants to see some of those castles.
And what to do on St. Martin. I wanted the Golden eagle Catamaran. But could we just snorkel on a beach ourselves?
I don't know... I can't think right now!LOL!

Got our docs today! We booked while onboard last year, just in case anyone can figure out who gets their docs first.
We are Karen & Ed from Pennsylvania. Also with us will be our sons Steve & Kevin, who both live in California. This will be the first cruise for Steve & Kevin. Ed & I have been on the Magic quite a few times, so we're looking forward to being back.
Hope the next few weeks go fast.

Loretta - We did the Golden Eagle Catamaran a couple of cruises ago. The snorkling was not that good because the water had been churned up by an earlier storm that had gone through. The crew realized that and keep the booze flowing (not that I would touch that evil liquid). Anyway, our two teenagers were with us and as we were coming back into port singing and dancing to the ever popular YMCA, the embarrassment on our kids faces was priceless! Overall (from what I remember) we had an excellent time on that excursion!

It's a good thing too, since they never imputted our Castaway Cay choices! I called them and ended up getting one of the last times for parasailing (which is the one thing I wanted to do!).

Woke up to NO POWER! but only for about an hour.
Winds are gusting pretty heavy, but this has been such a wet-n-wild summer, we've actually seen worse!
Not much rain yet, either. That's very good news, since several small creeks nearby tend to wash over some of the roads I have to get to work on.
But DH is probably going to drive me in, so I'll be chauffeured! Door-to-door service...can't beat it!LOL!
We are looking at a mess in the yard, no trees down yet, but clean up means you are still around, so...
There was a piece on the news urging people who haven't complied with the coastal evacuation, to please do so beafore it gets any worse. And if you chose to stay and watch, please find a permanant marker and write your name and NOK on your forearm:eek:
Going to get ready for work. Thanks everyone again for all the prayers and good thoughts! Boy, am I ready to cruise!!

Hi all -
I have spent the last 3 hours or so editing video of our Disney Magic cruise from last year. Castaway Cay, Palo, deck parties, the dining rooms, etc.
If that doesn't put you in the mood, nothing will!!
I am so ready to get back on board "my" ship and sail away. (You DID know it was mine, right?)
3 weeks from tomorrow we leave for Florida.
Then, for 2 weeks, we will experience Cocoa Beach, the Disney Wonder, Epcot and MK, Old Key West, the Disney Magic, and I'm sure countless laughs with our friends.
Oh well. Somebody's gotta do it. ;)

Now, I'm as ready as the next guy to get them, and they are important, but another day wouldn't have hurt.
But, we did the doc dance after awhile. Big ray of sunshine on a cloudy day:D
The storm has passed, literally. Fayetteville was spared. It's actually gorgeous out this morning.
Loretta
Great news on both counts Loretta!! Now that the huricane has passed you can focus on what's really important - getting ready to cruise (LOL)! Seriously, I'm glad your safe and sound.
Beano - That must be some video. I've got a bunch of tape to edit myself and am looking for a good program to use. What software do you use to edit? Do you burn DVDs or go back to tape?

Greetings from Northern VA :)
The worst is over...flooding, downed trees, and no power are our problems now. I actually drove into work this morning...quite an obstacle course, but at least we have power so I can check out our thread. :)
The best thing however, is that our docs arrived the day before Isabel!!!

So, I guess FedEx can deliver docs to VA and NC during a hurricane, but here in CA where it's 95 degrees and sunny, we don't git none! Better be here soon!
Spud - I edit with "Final Cut", and burn everything to DVD. Sometimes I send a copy to tape also, just for archival purposes.
Right now I am trying to decide whether to shoot this year's video in full screen or anamorphic 16:9. I dunno...
Tim, I am doing a 'family' edit, since all I did previously was the DIS video and the "Gennaro edit"...I thought we should have one of our family experiences too! Nothing like waiting 11 months to do it huh?
This year's videos will be better. Much better equipment and software this time. Can't wait!!

Hey mickey35!
Glad you found our thread...got your email, a litlle confused by your letters. Are they your families initials?
To read the threads more easily, look at the abbreviations list. This will help you decipher some of what is being said:)
ie., DD = Disney, darling daughter
www.***************** is a site where you can find lots of info on DCL, as well as www.dcltribute.com.
Looking forward to meeting your family on board!

Beano - Are you one of THOSE Mac people? It's a lot harder to find good video editing software for Windows.
Hi Mickey! Welcome aboard. You'll find all kinds of information here. How old are the kids? We're bringing DD12 and DS9.

Spud - Yes, I am one of them MAC guys - for that very reason!
A computer is only as good as the applications it runs. I LOVE my Macs for video editing, and other digital applications. They work wonderfully with my digital still cameras, as well as the various video cameras I use. In fact, after this vacation, I'll be able to post my digital pictures to my mac website within a day or 2 of returning home. Gotta love it!
I use Windows PC's at work, running XP Pro. It's a much better business machine than Mac, so I use one format at work, the other at home!:p

Hi guys!
I am on the 10/11/03 cruise and made a mistake with a hotel reservation for our trip home. I have 2 rooms at the Hyatt Airport (inside the airport) for Friday October 17th. I bid through hotwire and only paid $70 per room. Can any of you guys use them? I will just change the name on the reservation with Hotwire (I hope I can-I have in the past!)

Tried posting this a minute ago, and it put it on page 41!
So....here I go again.
We went to the Magic Kingdom today for a quick Disney fix, to hold us until the cruise. They let passholders see Mickey's Philharmagic. It was AWESOME!
Now I'm ready to cruise. I get to call and request my sub tomorrow for 10/20- 10/24! YIPEE!
Hope everyone had a great weekend!

Tchrmom -- I am so jealous that you got to see Mickey's Philharmagic. I bet it was awesome. I know my DD would have loved it and so would have I!
We did the quick Disney fix last week, when we headed to Disneyland but I think we need to go back one more time before we leave. You can't ever go too much, can you?:D
Looking forward to cruisin!
Is it me or have the days been going by real s-l-o-w lately?

snorgg - welcome tho the DIS, glad you guys found our happy little band of travelers:D
I'm not EMS, but travel with 'em occasionally...I'm on the transport team for our NICU. They have started making us sit up front with the driver on the way to hospitals, at night with the lights and sirens, some one said it was like an E ride at Disney;) (they were right!LOL!)
To me the days are going fast, only nine shifts left before we leave! Too much to do! So little time!

Couple questions for you guys...
1. What night is the DIS party?
2. Asking, cause I need to know what nights are good to reserve dinner at Palo??? I was thinking either Mon, Wed or Fri night, but I want to make sure we won't miss a formal, semi-formal or other fun night in our regular dinner rotation.
Thanks for the help. :)
Not much longer to go...:)
kamgen
09-23-2003, 09:57 AM
Hey Dana!!!
If you are talking about the party in Beano's suite...it is not at night, so it would not affect your dinner plans...I think it is on Sunday afternoon....
Beano????
The DVC party and the Return cruisers party are not at night either!
As for Palo, I would recommend either the first or last night....just my opinion (if you don't want to miss anything in terms of special things)
Anyone else??
:)
DMoss3377
09-23-2003, 12:06 PM
Thanks Kamy!
I was referring to Beano's party...Sunday afternoon, awesome!
As for Palo...I was going off of this schedule:
http://community.webshots.com/photo/52061656/70619159vOgOUi
I was thinking of Mon or Wed because according to that schedule it looks like it's just a regular menu, and it's not either semi-formal or formal night.
As for Friday, that would be fine too, except that we'd miss the Small World theme...however, if it's anything like what was on the Wonder, I wouldn't necessarily mind missing it. :)
Any thoughts? Also, thought I remembered someone saying that formal and semi-formal nights were on different nights than they use to be. So I'm not sure if the schedule above is correct, in which case, I'm lost. :) We're traveling with friends and I'd hate for them to miss anything, including Palo, it would be so much easier if they would send your dining rotation with your cruise docs. LOL :)
Thanks
kamgen
09-23-2003, 12:33 PM
Last I heard, and read the Friday night menu was Master Chef's, which we do not want to go to ....so we would go to Palo.....
I sure hope that is correct.
I got that info of Barb & Tony's site.
It lists the dinners being
Sat - rotation
Sun- rotation
Mon - rotation
Tues- tropical
Wed- Around the world
Thurs- Capt Gala
Fri- Master Chef

I agree, DCL should send your rotation with your reservation so that you can plan ahead. They should also allow you to book Palo and SPA ressies when you get your reservation. What would be the big deal anyway. I booked this cruise a year ago. I got early seating then. Assign my rotation then and let me get on with life.
nicurnc
09-23-2003, 01:18 PM
I agree,
What would it matter if we could make these reservations earlier and know what your dining rotation would be.
I'm guessing we are going to be LAPLAPL, since we are all adults (at least age-wise:D ) but, ya never know! They are listed as my KIDS...so maybe we'll be on another rotation:eek: Definitely don't want one with the real little kiddies ( not meant to insult...just that I've been there and done that:) and part of the reason we choose Disney is the great options for adults without kids! Of course, there's lots of discussion on kids in the adult pools and running amok...but let's not open that wound!LOL!
We are hoping to do Palo for our anniversary on the 20th. That would be Monday...so what would we be missing? Iguess first we'd have to know our rotation, no?
Plus have formal and semi-formal nights been switched. Looks like it on that one link. Last cruise I wore cocktail dresses both nights, this time I'm doing long and short, don't want to get them mixed up. Not to mention I have to spell all this out for my kids. Plus we STILL don't have any idea what to do for excursions! Have to make DD's dress for formal night and my sewing machine is tango-uniform...had to borrow one...do I sound a little STRESSED!LOL!

Thanks Kamy - I'll go with your list for dining themes. And, HAPPY BIRTHDAY!
Loretta - I didn't think of doing Palo on our anniversary until you said something about it. The funny thing is, our anniversary is the same night as yours. LOL Maybe we'll see eachother there...looks like Mon would be a good night to go anyway, since there isn't a major theme that night, and what ever restaurant you'd be in Monday, you should be back in Thursday.
So I guess I'll try for Monday night, then Friday if all the times are booked for Monday. :)
I'd like to be there during sunset...anyone have any ideas on approximately what time that will be or where I can find out. :)
Thanks for the help everyone. I just know the next few weeks are going to DRAG on so slowly...but I guess the anticipation is part of the fun. :)

We are getting together for a DIS'ers sailway party, on deck 10, above the pool, right after the lifeboat drill. After you get a load of us at the port before boarding, you'll want to make a note to be as far away from that deck 10 area as possible!!

I have some questions about Palo's. I am really confused about the charges I am reading ($10 for brunch?). Does it mean you pay the $10 and that is all you have to pay(plus tipping). What is the price for dinner? I was looking at a dinner menu for Palo's, but did not see any prices. Also, can you get this infamous chocolate souffle for the brunch too? Do you recommend the brunch, or dinner?
We are looking to celebrate hopefully one evening. My dh will be ending his job of 6 years the week we leave the cruise and starting with another the Monday after we return. He is now finally psyched about the cruise since there won't be stress to come back too!

Hi, we will be on the Disney Magic 10/18/03. Sharon and Joe and our 13 year old son Vincent.

09-26-2003, 07:42 AM
Hi, Rena--
Hope this answers your Palo questions. The $10 charge for the brunch includes one glass of champagne; the $5 charge for dinner is basically a gratuity. Most people are so impressed with the food and service that they increase the gratuity. I actually think that this charge is just to guarantee that people take their reservation seriously. So many people would like to dine at Palo, but the number of reservations for each night is limited. It is more of an intimate dining experience--not nearly as large as the other dining rooms.
If you do decide to make a reservation and later decide not to use it, be sure to cancel. The $5 or $10 will be charged if you have not cancelled and just don't show up.
Both brunch and dinner are wonderful. I am not posititve, but I don't think you can get that to-die-for chocolate souffle at brunch. Maybe you'll have to do both!
Hope to see you on the Magic--
Karen

Ladies, ladies, ladies.
You do your ironing by taking your pile of clothes and dropping them on the dry-cleaner's counter. Then you tell the husband, when he pulls out his clean, pressed shirts from the closet, how hard you slaved for him! Of course, he always notices that plastic bag and knows you are did not iron anything in the house. But really, isn't that what love and marriage are really all about?

I have to agree with Beano on this one. If you have time for both the brunch and the dinner at Palo, do them both! It is totally worth it and Paul is right (maybe first time ever, huh Pam?) about it being the best food on the cruise.
Kamy and I started arranging our clothes tonight. It was so much fun. We have less than 2 weeks till we leave. We're going on vacation!!!

Ahhh Dana....sorry you will be stuck at work! YUCK!
Well, we leave next Friday (Oct 10) to drive to FL
Night at the Radisson on Oct 11, then 4night DCL!
Then 2 nights at OKW/WDW then back to the port to get on the Magic!
Now you can see why we are so darned excited!!!!!!! By time you see us we will be bouncing off the walls! LOL!!! :) :)
can't wait to meet everyone! :)
Dana - Don't feel bad. I'll be here too, trying to get some work done before we leave! I'd love to go on a two week vacation. Oh well, maybe some day.
I can't believe that you're all packing already. I haven't even though about it. I'm the one who'll be doing laundry, ironing and packing Friday morning before we leave Friday afternoon. DH gets back from a business trip (to China!) on the 16th so he'll be packing Friday morning too. I hope he gets back in time to cruise. I told him that I love him but if he isn't back in time, we're going without him!

I have to tell you all, this was "just another" Disney vacation for me.....Untill I found you all !
Now, after trying to follow your conversations, and actually taking the time to read all there is to read at the DisBoard, you folks have me more excited than ever to be heading out with you on the 18th ! I just hope we get the chance to meet some, most or all of you ! I'm anxiously counting down with the rest of you!!
So, before I go, what about that "sweet pizza" !

Les - Sweet Pizza is an individual sized pizza served at the Palo brunch. It has a raspberry and cream sauce and is very unique and gooooood! I eat one of those, a bowl of pasta, a plate of eggs benedict, some smoked salmon, a few rolls with cheese spread, and then something chocolate. (Then I blame my weight on my meds!!) :jester:

I had decided that we'd skip Palo (Palo's for you Beano) this time. But, all this talk about brunch is getting to me. We may just have to check out Brunch, so that I can try the sweet pizza.

HEYYYYYYYY YOOOOOU GUYYYYYYS!!!!!! How have you all been?Just from the 20 pages I caught up on it looks like you've been busy and anxiously waiting for docs and cruise.
Unlike Paul, I actually have responsibilities. As he mentioned, we packed my son off to college a week ago. So now I only have one child at home. Can you all guess who that is?? He is the most spoiled, demanding, expensive, picky, trouble, etc, etc, etc, of them all. I bet you can't begin to guess who I'm talking about, huh? I understand I'll have this child until death do us part. Maybe that should be death I do part. Hey Beano, do you have a spare box I could borrow? Sorry, that was way toooo ghoulish. Just in time for Halloween though.
I can't wait to see all of you again. You are such a fun group. Paul has been keeping me somewhat up to date on all the plans. I make up a calendar before we go on trips. Can I get the details on our DIS get-togethers? Not that I'm A R, it just helps me know what to pack for. I'm trying to go for an entire wardrobe of lime green. Is that too much???? LOL
Hey Kamy, this cruise I'm treating myself to at least one spa treatment. Which do you recommend? Do you head right up to the reservation desk when you get on board? Any pointers from the 'pro' would be appreciated. Also congratulations on all your success with WW. Paul keeps mentioning it. I'm jealous but very happy for you, and I bet Tim has been very supportive and encouraging.
It's getting very close now. We leave 2 wks from tomorrow, verrrrrrrrrry early in the morning. Got to start packing or I'll go crazy. I'm working the Saturday and Monday before we go. All you ladies know how that goes. It's not enough you have to work and get yourself ready. It's "Did you get my suit dry cleaned? How many ties do I need to take? My shirts are all wrinkled, will you be able to iron them? Who's going to feed the cats while we're gone? Who's taking us to the airport? ............ARRRRGHHHHHHH@###@! I am so ready to cruise, and drink, and get a message, and swim in the wonderful warm water, and most of all laugh with all you wonderful people. There I feel better all ready.
Talk to you all soon,
Pam
PS Tim and Beano, what are you going to be carrying around to take the place of your ESPN refillable mugs???

PAM!!!!!!! I am so glad you finally escaped.....bad boy Paul, keeping Pam all locked up......or maybe that is just a little game you two play...if so... good for you!LOL! ;)
Well, spa...hmmm....I would recommend the Spa Taster to everyone! It is fabulous...Tim had one too and loved it! It is 1/2 facial and 1/2 massage...totally awesome! If you don't have a budget on this one, go for the Absolute Face and Body! Supposedly the best treatment offered. You can check out a list of treatments at www.*****************
I would go directly to the spa for bookings when you board! Don't delay on that!!! :)
Thanks for all the kind words about my WW success! Well, I am hoping to reach goal (3lbs to go) before we leave, but if not I am still really happy with my results! It hasn't been easy, but I am glad I have stuck to it....but now I am ready to eat! LOL! :p
tchrmom- the brunch starts at 10:30am from what I recall. YOu will have time to fit in everything...no worries!!!!!! :) Brunch is great! Don't miss it! :)

Return Cruisers Party
DVC Members Party
Spa
Palo Brunch
Palo Dinner
See shows: Disney Dreams and Hercules are must see shows!
Relax by the pool
Dinner in the dining rooms
Cheeseburger at Plutos

hang out with my friends A LOT!

I have a favor to ask the "pros"...so far here's what I'm aware of as far as DIS meets/parties go:
Sailaway - meet deck 10, above goofy pool...?center, or one of the sides???
Beano's party - Sunday afternoon, ?time?, location, ?TBA?
Thanks, am, I missing any other DIS stuff?

DIS Sailaway: Deck 10 above goofy pool. We are on the same side as the port, so we can wave to the port as we leave! :)

SOunds fair Beano! Everyone should contribute to the party...champagne sounds easy!
Hey everyone- the first night, be sure to get ice from your stateroom host in the trash can (works great for bottles of wine and such) or if you are bringing a cooler to chill the champagne! We don't want to bring warm bubbly to Beano's! :) :)

And a darn good one at that! ;)

Then if you have one when you show up, I know you're supposed to be there! (Hey, don't laugh - we had 'stragglers' show up last year for free drinks!)

skc- Yeah there is a DVC member party...free drinks and they give away prizes! Fun for all! :) It will be in the Navigator and you should get an invitation. :)
You cannot miss Beano at port...or us for that matter! Look for 4 adults (two men with video cameras growing out of their hands and two smiling ladies) and two adorable, but crazy kids! You will find us!!! :) :)
And the invitation only idea is great! Last year Beano is right we did have some people (DIS people believe it or not) who showed up, took free snacks and drinks and left! This is a hanging out kind of party....so I hope we get some fun folks who show up! :) :)

09-30-2003, 02:40 PM
I hate to have to be that way about it, but last year's 'crashers' kinda frosted my cheeks.
Last year's party was a winetasting, right? This guy shows up (He had posted maybe 3 times to our thread last year), and he says he doesn't drink wine, got any beer? So I gave him one. Then a few minutes later, he goes over to my fridge and helps himself to another. He asks me straight out how much the suite cost, and then proceeded to tell me I paid too much and it's not worth it. Then he left.
Can you say "jerk"???
So we only want nice, happy, friendly DIS'ers to enjoy some time together! Maybe I need to hire a bouncer... Nah, nevermind that. I'll bounce ya myself! ;)

Kind of OT for our cruise, but do any of you keep up with the soap opera "imgoingtodisney"?
This has got to be some of the funniest, but saddest stuff on these boards. I think things just pop into her head and flow out her fingertips onto the keyboard :D
When I first started seeing her posts, she was concerned about her DH and his pantless state, todat there is already a long thread because she needs to contact her severs prior to seating so she can see about her dining options so he doesn't have to listen to her ask how foods are prepared. Did he never see Billy Crystal fall in love with Meg Ryan in "When Harry Met Sally"? ;)
I can't picture how these people are going to have any fun on this trip

What is MNSSHP like? Is it just extended time to ride? Do you need to dress in costume?
tchrmom,
I think you just need to go back to Dillard's and get that T-shirt! You know what will happen if you don't...you'll just keep thinking about it and wish you had it. $8..you go! That's for your "behavior calendar" lol!
Loretta
Snorgg - forgot about a hat... DH has lots, we'll just have to find a lime green one! It's a vacation tradition to buy him a hat whenever we're on vacation. Suppose we can find a lime green one in WDW?

I am actually trying to collect lime green shirts. I will have a few more with this trip coming up.
Can't wait to hang with everyone.
Loretta,
I lived in NJ for 7 yrs. Used to live in Chester which is outside of Morristown in North Central Jersey. I loved living there. I met Kamy in NJ before we moved back to Michigan together. My Aunt and Uncle also lived there in Sicklerville. It is quite the growing community. Small world.

One night away and lots to catch up on. One more weekend of shopping and I think I'm ready to pack the suitcase. I just need to find a dress for the Formal night. Thankfully I have lots to keep me busy until the 16th.
So tell me, is anyone else out there having fun tormenting their co-workers with all their wonderful vacation talk. As far as my staff is concerned I'm already on vacation, I'm physically there, but mentally I've checked out. My mind is on the big mouse, sandy beaches, and sailaway drinks.
Can't wait to meet you all, wish we were joining you for MNSSHP, but my DH's Aunt lives in Melbourne and that is the only night we have to see her.

nicurnc - Well there are the rides but there is also a cool Halloween Parade, lots of little kids trick or treating (big kids too). It's strickly G-rated but I enjoy the atmosphere of it all.

This Month!!!!
Tim,
You are so right, it is a small world :) So how did you meet Kamy in NJ? Do you guys sound like you are from Jersey? In the south, people stilll think we sound like yankees, but whenever we visit up north they think we talk funny now :D (yeah, like no one can miss a Brooklyn accent!LOL! Brooklyn is where most of the people in that part of NJ seem to have started out)
doberman2002,
Happy shopping! Between the sales and all the new holiday stuff out, I know you'll find something great.
Same here for the work thing. Someone came up to me and said,"you have three weeks off!!" Oh well, somebody has to do it ;)
Paul, that sounds fun. We've never seen WDW at any of the holidays! I think we will be giving this a try :)

Kamy lived in NJ kind of temporarily as a flight attendant for Continental Airlines at the time. I lived there since I was 16. We met at a Birthday party of a mutual friend. Some idiot Ohio State fan was bashing Michigan and I got a little huffy and this short littly hottie chimed in to help me. We have been together ever since.
We do not have NJ accents at all. More of a Midwestern one if there is such a thing. I can tell you that Kamy's short stint in Texas before I met her has given her a bit of a southern twang sometimes. It is pretty cute though.
Yes, this month we are going on a cruise (or two)!!

Ahhhh...Tim is full of compliments....must be getting closer to cruise time! ;)
Don't anyone worry about the champagne thing....sparkling wine....whatever you call it!!!! Cheap is fine too! LOL!!! Just make sure it is cold...nothing worse than warm bubbly! YUCK!! (except if they ran out of sailaway drinks...now that would be way worse!!!) LOL!!
We leave next week...Friday...cannot wait! :)

Wow, this thread is rockin'! :bounce: :Pinkbounc
Hey Beano ! This party by invitation only ?
Actually, it is. But everyone who is aware of the party by virtue of this thread, is invited! By now, I know all the names, or at least nicknames, of the people posting here. So anyone who comes up to me at the port and says 'Hey Beano, I'm ___...' will get an invitation! Hey - people want to come to my room and bring me free booze. Who am I to say no?? ;)
And yes Tim, Kamy has the cutest little twangy accent! In fact, you're both cute as can be. Go Buckeyes!!! (J/K!!!!!!) :p

The heater has been turned on at home, temps are falling supposedly into the 30's tonight and maybe some wet snow. I am ready to leave now!
Beano, when I come up to you for the invite, you will know it is me because I am probably the only Indian girl with a polish last name on the boat!!!
I have no lime green, but my daughter does, so I guess she will represent us.
Sorry Tim, GO BUCKS!!

...who else is flying into Orlando the day of the Cruise? Our flight arrives 9:30am...perhaps we'll run into some of you. :)

Our flight arrives 9:09 AM from Phila. We are taking a Tiffany Town Car to the Port. I think I have a lime green shirt, might say Bahama Mama on it or something.

 Okay - most of you are scaring me. But my DH and my DD8 will be on the 10/18 cruise. We are new to the entire cruise game - we know nothing - but I take it we can bring wine onboard - good news for me the little wino (any great advise you have would be appreciated). I'm sure I'll be able to recognize most of you (with your green shirts).
My DH and I are late 40s/early 50s with young child (please don't ask if we have our DGD with us). We'll be the ones looking lost.
We're celebrating our 20th anniversary and hope our DD will join in the activities for the kidos.

Dana - We are flying in on Friday night, although it's the week before this cruise, since we are on the Wonder on 10/12. We have a limo from MCO to the Radisson, and we are hijacking Tim and Kamy's van after this cruise!
lilylulu, welcome to the DIS, and to this mixed up group! Many of us have been on 4 or 5 Disney Cruises so we'll try to answer any questions you can throw at us!!
'Beano'
Sure Beano, rub it in. Not all of us are lucky enough to go on two cruises!;) Seriously, it sounds like a great time. You'll be really relaxed by the time we see you.
Sorry Dana, we're flying in on the day before. I didn't want to risk it from Chicago. The way the weather is now, we may very well have a snowstorm by then.

:o Okay - thanks for the welcome. Should I sign up in advance for any of the island excursions - since some of you have been before - which do you recommend. I'll be with my DD8 (she'll be sticking to me like glue). We swim, snorkel, like to sail - shopping's not such a big deal. Should we just wait until we're onboard. Finally discovered the web site to sign up, so thought I'd ask.
How do you get your wine onaboard - is it okay to take it in a cooler?, or do you just do the wine service onboard?
Thanks,
Snorgg

Greetings everyone !
Here's a "stupid" question for the DCL vets:
What time is the earliest one can arrive to check in on the 18th?
Beano, thanks for the invite ! Now, just what kind of bubbly was that !!??!!
Seems the only lime green shirt I have is my Fire Department shirt! Will that do ? I went to 3 stores tonight, and no one has that color ! Not even Wal-Mart !
Who in the group said they had kids that wanted to meet others ? Kevin is 12-Keith is 11
Be well all !

Les - Our son is 13, I am sure he would enjoy meeting your boys.
The terminal opens at 10:30AM, so you can arrive and check in anytime after that. They start boarding at 1:00PM; sometimes a little sooner.
lilylulu - Most people sign up for their excursions ahead of time. It can be done once the cruise is 60 days away. Therefore, excursions do fill up fast, so I wouldn't wait if I were you. :)
And Spud - Sorry, I didn't mean to rub it in !!!
(Yes I did ;) )

Good morning to all of you;

I want all of you to know that snorgg is dreaming of lime green shirts. he was talking in his sleep about it this a.m..
This cruise won't get here fast enough, he is like a child in a candy store.
Trust me i am too, but some one has to stay focused and pack.
and organize the 2 ds's..
I told snorgg he needs to get his stuff together or he was going to look funny in his lime green bvds at the port.
My next step is to ground him. Have any of you ever grounded your dh's?
Time for work. have a gr8 day everyone..

Woo-hoo!!!!!!! It's almost here, it's almost here!!!
I'm all packed and ready. My DD and I can sit outside on our luggage while we wait patiently for our airport cabbie to arrive 15 days from now. LOL. We can walk to 7-11 and live off slurpees and whoppers. :p I'm just too excited to stay home! Wish my husband felt the same way. He's bogged down with work. And not one single shirt, sock, or shoe is packed in his suitcase yet. What am I gonna do with that man? :headache:
Our plane arrives at 10:12 a.m. on the 18th from San Diego. There's nothing like flying with a three-year-old!
My dad keeps asking me,"And how many days do we have left?" He full well knows, but asks anyway and before I can answer him, he laughs and sings "15 more days, 15 more days . . ." I don't think he's had enough beer to drink yet. LOL.

No problem about the Meds thread. I am beginning to write my "list" of what to buy. Kamy, I look forward to meeting you and the rest of the bunch. I did go onto your website, so now I know what you and Tim look like and Beano and family..... Should be no problem finding you at the terminal!! You have done a wonderful job on Weight Watchers......
Well, snow was on the ground this morning in Cleveland. We have been having hail every day for the past 2 days. I am so ready.......

Snow!! Poor you in Cleveland!
And here I thought our 60-70 degree temps in NC were bad. Well not really bad, it's actually gorgeous outside, just not the usual slide into winter right from summer we normally have.
Sitting here fortifying myself with a cup of tea (it should probably be something MUCH stronger ;) ) before I head out to the mall with DS who has told me he will wear a suit for me on formal night
Now I know this is always a debate, but I seriously was going to be very happy just to see him in a shirt and tie. But he said, Mom, this is your night, and I know you want it to be special. AAAwhhhh.... is that sweet or what?!
So now I have to help him shop:faint:

I love Autumn, it's definitly my favorite season...especially because it's when we CRUISE!
It's getting pretty chilly here too. We'll get frost tonight and tomorrow morning, but no snow, yet. A friend told me that the Farmer's Almanac is predicting the worst winter yet.
Old Navy is having a sale, so DH and I are going tonight to see if we can pick up anything last minute. I've pretty much bought everything else I had on my packing list except the underwater camera I found at Target...have any of you seen this camera? It was a flash and you load it with 35mm film, just like you would any regular camera, but it has a waterproof case around it. It's pretty inexpensive too.
Disneyana - perhaps we'll run into you at the airport. :) I'll be tugging my 26 year old...hubby that is. LOL He's my only child right now. LOL
Okay, back to work....ugh...who can work right now. :(

We just bought a disposable Fuji underwater camera. We used it on our last cruise and it worked great...and it's cheap! :) Never saw the one you got, sounds cool!
Ready to cruise!
