Hi folks,

Today a few DIS families from Minnesota gathered to have a pre-cruise get together/picnic.

I brought with the Beano tape and CD to show to the group . Needless to say, everyone was in awe of your work, Beano.

Several were amazed at how musically talented our dis group was last year!

It is going to be very difficult to leave the ship on the 18th knowing that a whole crew of reble rousers are about to take over the ship...

Have fun!

Kamy, you're right, I should work on my tolerance so I can hold my own on the cruise. But I still don't want to warm up the beer. I like it cold.

Beano,

Come on. You know that I would never give you warm brew. That is just insane Mr. Garrison. (Cartman)
Disney is going to run out of ice on these cruises from refilling our cooler.

BeanoC
08-13-2003, 01:36 AM
Tim, they may not run out of ice, but they may run out of beer. Oh gawd, did I say RUN OUT of beer? Ok, that's just scary. Tell me it isn't so!

I'm going to have nightmares now.

You can sleep well Beano because they will not run out of beer. If you are worried, you should request your own keg for the week (sound familiar?). They should accomodate the Beano.

How?

Thanks

Yes, you can book excursions without your docs. They can be booked anytime from the 60 day point. The sooner the better!

DH and I finally sat down and figured out our excursions! Since I can't leave my class, he will call DCL tomorrow! We are going to try the Golden Eagle and the 5 star beach thing-y. I hope we get them!

Do you think it is mean to have a count-down poster in my classroom? You know, "Only _______ more days until the Disney Cruise".

What a great way to teach 1st graders how to count backwards!

Well, my oldest started first grade this week. The other mother's were standing around with tears in their eyes. I was laughing, clapping and doing a jig....(yes, I am quite proficient at the Riverdance). Do you think asking the teacher what is the latest I can pick- up my child without legal ramifications is a bad thing?

I just want to thank all the teachers for their patience and hardwork. I can barely stand my own children, nevermind, trying to teach 20 angels that don't belong to me.

I will be helping out at school this week so I am hoping to tramatize as many children as I possibly can. Looking forward to my vacation.

I AM ONLY JOKING. PLEASE, DO NOT WRITE YOUR GOVERNOR. I WOULD WRITE MY GOVERNOR BUT IN CALIFORNIA I AM NOT SURE WHO THAT IS!

The Terminator, talking about the dangers of violence.
Conan the Barbarian, talking about the dangers of violence.
The same guy who played a government assassin in 'True Lies', talking about the dangers of violence.

Beano --

We will be on the 10/18 cruise. It will be me, my DH, DS8, DD5, and my parents Aged 57 and 55.

This will be our first Disney Cruise and we are so excited! My parents are just a little worried that they will be bored. We are all Disney fans though.

Any comments would be greatly appreciated.

Also, we are in a Category 3. Any comments on what they are like? We are just so anxious.

We are coming from California.

Thanks --

Shannon - WELCOME to the group!

Trust me - you will love the cat. 3 suite! What room # are you in, if you don't mind me asking?

All of the cat. 3's are nice, but there are some differences between them.

We were in 8102 last year, and it was fantastic, except for the sleeping arrangements. There is no pull-down berth, and therefore the kids had to either (Yikes!) sleep together, or trade off between the bed and the chairs! However, 8102 does have the biggest gosh darn verandah on the ship!

This year, (unless our waitlist dream comes true!) we are in 8548, which is midship, and does have the pull-down berth for our kids to use. We are also hosting a DIS party there on Sunday, which you are welcome to attend if you like.

We are on a waiting list for either a cat 2 suite, or one of the cat 1's. Since all full payments are due by tomorrow, we should know soon if we'll get one! But even the cat 3's are pretty comfy!

Hi all -

I just read a trip report from the Aug 9 Eastern. I hadn't thought of it before, but after reading her trip report it made me wonder if anyone would know if you have a problem getting to theme nights with late dinner seating.

On our 4 day cruise last year, we had early seating, so after dinner we either strolled around just taking it all in or went back to our stateroom for some freshening up before heading to the theme nights at the club.

With the late seating, will we miss the theme nights? I absolutely love 80's night. On the 4-day, DH was asked to be part of the Bon Jovi band, and don't you know it, I didn't have my camera. The one time...LOL...so I'm hoping the opportunity presents itself again...him in a long haired wig is priceless. :)

So anyone who's had late seating and still made it to enjoy theme nights, please put my mind at ease.

Thanks

kamgen

Hey Loretta, as for being a "damn yankee", you may not originally be from the south, but you've been a transplant long enough and that's good enough for me.

For all those "Southern" girls going on the cruise, came across a book this past weekend that is a cute read. Now that I've read it, I realize I should have saved it for the cruise. It's called "Grits Guide to Life" GRITS, being Girls Raised In The South.

Hi Loretta...

It is a cute book. Here's a little about it.

The Grits Guide to Life
(Girls Raised in the South)
Deborah Ford - Author
Fannie Flagg - Foreword

They’re referred to as Sweet Potato Queens, Steel Magnolias, Ya-Ya Sisters, and Southern Belles, but at heart they’re just plain Grits—Girls Raised in the South, of course! In The Grits Guide To Life, Deborah Ford reveals the essence of a Southern woman and shows readers how to achieve her style and grace. Because, as we learn, Grits aren’t born, they’re made.

Equal parts sweet sincerity and sly humor, this exuberant guide is chock-full of advice, true-life stories, recipes, southern sayings, and quotable wisdom. Readers will learn vital lessons, including:

· How to make a proper Mint Julep

· How to flirt, southern style

· Sure signs that he’s Mr. Wrong

· How to eat watermelon in a sundress

· The “dos” and “don’ts” of Proper Etiquette

Readers will also learn about some of the essential ingredients to Southern living including, football, sweet tea (which, if it isn’t made right, is “no more sweet tea than a basset hound is a coon dog”), debutante balls, Spanish moss and magnolias. The descriptions will make you yearn for the languid heat of the south, the taste of cold lemonade and the sound of crickets on a warm summer night.

From the Southern way to meet Mr. Right, to a recipe for making Biscuits with Chocolate Gravy, to the Grits who’ve made us proud, this charming book will appeal to everyone, whether born and bred below the Mason-Dixon line, or just a Southern girl at heart

Enjoy!

Hi Loretta,

Yes I did read Divine Secrets...I also read Little Alters Everywhere, the book that precedes Divine Secrets. I definitly liked the books better...but I always do. Very rarely do I like the movie versions better. The closest I've gotten is with the Harry Potter movies. Yes, I'm an HP fan. I admit it. :)

I love to read but don't get much time except on vacation. I recently realized I can borrow books on CD from my library and listen to books during my commute to work. So right now I'm listening to "The Jester" by James Patterson. Quite good so far. :)

Have you read any of the Sweet Potato books? Are they any good?

:)

nicurnc
08-27-2003, 03:28 PM
No Dana, I haven't read any of the Sweet Potato books. I love reading books set in the South, one of my favorites is by Tim McLaurin. He wrote The Acorn Plan - it was set right here in Fayetteville. That was pretty neat.

I'm the same way when it comes to the movie versions ! My family hates to listen to me after we've left one that I've read beforehand!LOL!

My biggest dissapointment was with Jurassic Park! And the one I thought did the best job was the Lord of the Rings!! I've read those several times (starting in HS in the 70's) and was truly impressed with those first two films and am looking forward to the Return of the King. (Yes, I've already got The Two Towers:D )

I usually read several books a week in the summer, but this summer my scrapping has seriously cut into my reading time:)

Thanks for the book ideas. I love to read all kinds of books, although I'm partial to mysteries. I hope to find some time to read on the cruise. Between work and planning this cruise, it doesn't seem like I have much time to read anymore. :p

And Loretta, I agree with you about books made into movies. The movies are rarely as good as the book. I usually avoid the movies all together.

Ooh Spud!!LOL! I love mysteries, too!LOL!

I guess it goes back to my Nancy Drew days:D I love series books. Sue Grafton is a favorite, I've read all the Kinsey Millhone books and I'm not sure they truly qualify as mysteries because they are just TOO FUNNY...but Janet Evanovich's Stephanie Plum series are also must reads for me:D They are set in Trenton, NJ...that Granma Mazur is a pisser:D

You are in Chicago, have you read the V.I. Warshawski books, i really enjoyed hers as well. There hasn't been a new one in a while.

I also like Patricia Cornwell ,Barbara Parker and Joan Hess.

I've spent the summer reading Sue Grafton's books. I'm up to 'N'. And I love Janet Evanovich too! DH thinks I'm goofy when I read those and laugh out loud! I also like Patricia Cornwell.

I haven't read the V.I. Warshawski books and I didn't know they were based in Chicago. Maybe I'll check those out when I'm done with Sue Grafton.:p

Loretta,

I am a big fan of Patricia Cornwell also. I have read all of her books. Dr. Scarpetta is my hero!

I am also a huge Grisham fan. And I also agree that the movies rarely do justice to the book, although a couple of Grisham's have been adapted well.

I suppose I should come out of the closet and admit I am a Harry Potter fan too!

Right now I am reading Fannie Flaggs' "Standing in the Rainbow". Hilarious!

I doubt that I will do much reading on the cruise though - other than menus!!!

You guys are my kindred spirits. I love anything southern...especially books. I also love mysteries and thrillers. I just recently discovered the Stephanie Plum series and love it. I also tend to read Mary Higgins Clark, Dean Koontz, Grisham and James Patterson. Or really anything that strikes my fancy. :) I'm not too picky.

Dr. Seuss has got to be my all time favorite though. So Paul, I'd be happy to learn ya. ;)

I totally agree with you on Jurassic Park, I was greatly disappointed in that. I also find the same with Stephen King novels, very rarely do they do the books justice. Lord of the Rings is awesome, I already have The Two Towers as well. Between LOTR and HP, I drive my DH nuts. Gotta have the books and the movies. Although, sweetie that he can be when he chooses to, he just bought me the new Stitch movie. Gotta love Stitch. :)

Not sure how much reading I'll get done on the cruise either. Reading at the pool with a drink in your hand can be dangerous....for the book. LOL Last cruise, I forgot where I was for a second and nearly set my book down...right in the water. :) LOL

Well, hope everyone has a wonderful Labor Day weekend. I'll be hanging close to home, was diagnosed with walking pneumonia and still recovering. Although I'll probably sneak in a trip to the Renaissance Festival sometime this weekend. Sshhhh...don't tell my doctor. :)

I love Dr. Scarpetta because I only WISH we had a coroner like her here! Sure would make my job easier. She's great. I like her niece Lucy, too. She kicks butt!

As for Dr. Seuss, my favorite is "Oh the thinks you can think". :)

Yes, I went to school for embalming. I lived down by the Mouse when I went to school, since one of only 2 mortuary colleges in California is in Cypress. I lived and worked in Anaheim. Only visited the Mouse once though - I was kinda busy!

Hi 4blinkies! Welcome to the DIS and all the wild and crazy cruisers on the 10/18:D

My kids are way past the 3 & 5 stage (at least in counted birthdays;)), maybe someone else could volunteer what wil be fun for little ones.

Don't start about the weather! after the wettest coolest summer I can remember here in NC, we are finally hitting the 3H's (ya know, HOT, HAZY, HUMID!)
Think Robin Williams as Adrian Cronnauer as somebody else . in Good Morning , Viet Nam:
How hot is it? Real hot! Damn hot! We have a little crotch pot cookin' out there!!LOL!

Kamy, we still haven't planned our excursions!:( I am such a planner!LOL! It just doesn't seem NATURAL to not know what we will do when we get to a port!LOL!

I know we want to do brunch and probably dinner in Palo, and then a massage or two, but I'd like us not to be all split up on port days. Maybe I'll lok into renting a car or jeep and try to do a little touring on our own. A website on the USVI had some pretty neat looking stuff. Plannig for this many is a pain...my husband just usually does what I tell him he's gonna do!LOL!

We are heading to Myrtle beach in two weeks for SOS (Society of Shaggers...not Austin Powers shaginn', baby...shag is a dance we do down here in the south) and I have to think what will be easy to dance in the streets and in and out of the clubs when it's a million degrees and a million people. Plus my DH is, shall we say, fashion-challenged, I have to plan and pack for him as well:D

Hi nicurnc,

Got your pm and will be glad to help. :)

Our family did the eastern in Dec. We wanted to make the most of our time on St. Thomas and pre-arranged a guided tour with
'Godfrey Tours' (godfreytoursvi.com) via email. He chgs appx $20pp or $300 for our family of 16 for the whole day. He gave us a list of suggestions and we picked out what we wanted to do for the day.

He picked our family up at the ship 8:30am in an A/C van. We toured the highlites, then went to Coki Beach area. It is adjoined to 'Coral World' and 'Caribbean Water Sports'. The ladies took the kids to Coral World (adults $18 & kids $9) while the men enjoyed parasailing nx door ($60pp I think). IMO 'Coral World' is not to be missed if you have little ones! It includes an Undersea Observatory w/you can watch the divers feed the fish, plus Marine Gardens, Turtle pool, Iguana Alley, Tortoise Pool, Touch pool, Tropical Nature Trail, Sea Treekin', Dive Shop and much more. Everyone enjoyed!

Afterwards, we all met nx door at the beautiful Coki Beach for swimming, snorkling, and a delicious picnic we'd brought from the ship. Your Coral World ticket allows you to use restroooms, etc.

After a shopping spree in town, we were back to the ship by 4pm. Our excursion was one of the highlites of our trip making very special memories!!

Hope I've been some help. Have a 'magic'al cruise!!

4 blinkies,

I am coming on the cruise( first cruise ever for me and DH) with a 2 year old and I have been researching for a few months. After my readings on the boards and getting advice from friends, I think we are going to go on our own. We plan to to go to the beach and do shopping on St. Maarten and St. Thomas.

I received a list of excursions the other day. Did you? According to the sheet I got, it recommends to look at www.disneycruise.com and click on "fun Onshore." Whatever looks interesting I would post questions on the main board of the disboards.

I don't mean to ignore you; we are previous eastern cruisers with 2 kids, but ours are much older so I probably wouldn't have much good advice for ya. We went to Trunk Bay on St. John last time we did this cruise, and it's a beautiful beach with great snorkeling. Probably not the thing for a 3 and 5 year old though...

Whatever you choose, I do in most cases recommend doing it on your own, since Disney sponsored excursions are WAY more expensive.
By doing Trunk Bay on our own, I saved well over $100.

I just wanted to tell everyone that here in Southern CA, J.C Penney's and Macy's are having great sales. I mostly noticed the long and short dresses and woman's stuff but the sales are throughout the store and I almost lost my breath when I saw the discounts. My head started spinning, my blood pressure started rising , and my palms became sweaty. If you are looking for that little black dress (Paul, you might need another black dress, no?) or anything else, I would recommend a shopping trip within the next 2 days. Heck , even if you don't need anything, I would recommend a shopping trip.

I have a few questions.

1. Does anyone know where you can get a ham sandwich on an onion roll aboard the Disney Magic?

2. How many maricino cherries are you allowed to get at dinner on the cruise?

3. Does Disney have a bathing suit (bikini) dress code or can my DW where one of those bares all type of suits?

nicurnc
09-02-2003, 06:26 PM
After reading that particular post, I guess I have a few questions myself!LOL!

1.I bet they would make you a ham on onion roll in Palo, but why would you want them to?

2. Marischino cherries are usually free if you sit at the bar:) But a crabby bartender my remind you "hey, this is not buffet or all day, you go now!"

3. Your wife has worked very hard to lose a lot of weight. She can wear whatever she pleases:D

Gee, I hope that helped !LOL!

I'll see that you get that sandwich, if you behave.

And you can have all the damn marischino cherries you want. (I am having visions of that scene from 'Witches of Eastwick').

Kamy may wear anything she pleases, or nothing.

And Loretta - the sleeping capacity of the cat 11's depends on the alcohol consumption of the people in it. I'd say 12 or 13 people, on a good night. Just be careful where you step.

I don't think that they have onion rolls on the cruises. I will try though.

I will just order a bowl of cherries at dinner everynight like always.

Kamy looks good in her new digs. I am so proud of her.

New ????'s

1. Will Paul do the YMCA with me this year?

2. Who will be brave enough to dance with Tarzanman when no one else is dancing?

3. Which SPA attendee will be my favorite this year?

4. Beano, will my favorite shopping guide be there?

BeanoC
09-03-2003, 02:56 PM
Tim: I will take advantage of our grocery stop on the way to the Radisson, just to get you some onion rolls. I'll make you some sandwiches. Lord knows there won't be much to eat aboard ship.

Let's hope your favorite shopping guide is still there; and as for Spa attendees, you can only hope that Phillippa (sp?) from South Africa is still there. Oh My!! ;)

Paul will do the YMCA with you. We have waaaays of making him do it. (insert sinister laugh here).

Hey - did they have onion rolls at the bread table in Palo, at brunch? You could make yourself a kick-ss ham sandwich there!!

We'll see that you don't go hungry, my friend. There must be a bag of cheesy poofs somehwere on board.

Maybe another coupla weeks for docs:(

If you don't mind me asking, how do you guys book your cruises? Travel agent? Thru DCL?
I ask because I picked a pretty sorry excuse for one this time:(
Can never get a hold of this guy. And I have received zippidty-do-dah from him. I only know from some contact with DCL and another agent that our cruise is truly booked.
I will be using some one else in the future!

Loretta,
We booked through DCL for our first cruise and booked 10/18 while on board. Received $200 onboard credit for this cruise. The only thing we have seen cheaper is through All Seasons Travel but I do not think they give you any on board credits.

nicurnc
09-03-2003, 08:20 PM
It wasn't so much credit I'm looking for, although that would be nice..I'm talking about simple confirmation, or thanks-a-bunch for booking thru me or kiss my butt or ...well just anything;)

Now this dude is out on yet another vacation and I can't seem to get anyone there to help ("Well, it's Mike's booking...")

nicurnc - This will be our fith cruise and we have booked through DU on all occasions or have booked with DCL on board and transfered the ressie to DU. Great people there and I never have had any problems getting any questions I have had answered.

"Paul is just an old fart who can't read." Hey Beano! Thanks a lot! I resemble that remark!

Tim and Beano - I'll do the YMCA with you guys but you'll have to teach me how to spell it first!

Paul

BeanoC
09-03-2003, 08:47 PM
Loretta - We are the same as Paul; we've booked on board, then transferred to DU. We have gotten very good service from them. I was sorry to see Cathy leave DU, but Donna also does excellent work for us. It's just that we cruised once with Cathy, so it was like having a friend for a travel agent. But those on-board credits are great, so I certainly recommend rebooking while still cruising!

And to answer your other question: we, personally, have never received our docs earlier than 2 weeks before cruise time! That is almost enough to cause concern this year, since we leave for Florida 8 days before we sail on the Magic!

Paul - "Have to teach you to spell YMCA" - Good one!! :) 10 points for you, and a gold star !!

Hey tchrmom,

Could you give Paul a little spelling lesson? Thanks.

Paul,

You don't need to know how to spell YMCA to do the dance. You have just have to strip down to your skivvies and shake your butt combined with pelvic thrusting.

As far as transfering ressies, all I remember doing is e-mailing Donna at DU with my DCL reservation number and she took care of everything. Better yet, If they have some sort of rebate special when you transfer they will apply that to your reservation. It was all very painless.

Paul

Paul,
Can you still make payments with DU? Or, do you pay in 1 lump sum?

paulcrsb
09-03-2003, 10:29 PM
tchrmom - I like to pay a little each month that way it's not such a big hit when the final paymentis due. I just go to the DU web site, sign on and make a payment. It's so simple even I can do it!

Paul

BeanoC
09-03-2003, 11:04 PM
You can make interim payments through DU's website anytime you care to, by credit card of course. You can also snail mail them checks if you'd rather.

After you book on board and return home, just email DU and tell the agent you want them to handle your reservation. They can then take charge of it, and the benefits then are:

- You get their additional $50 discount.

- You get a personal contact who can handle any requests you have.

- You get a gift in your stateroom, usually a nice assortment of goodies, as long as DU has at least 8 bookings on your voyage.

Paul - Please bring extra sunscreen for your trip to Orient beach... hate to burn those sensitive spots. Parts is parts!!!

Hey you guys.

We are thinking about booking onboard for next October but we are not sure which week we want. Sooooo, once you transfer your reservation from DCL to DU or any other travel agent, can you change the cruise dates and still keep your onboard booking credit?

BeanoC
09-04-2003, 12:32 AM
Rose - Yes, you can. You won't lose your on board credit. We are booked for Oct. 18th next year, so consider this fair warning. (Although we may have to cancel).

Well, it's always fun to pay attention to those milestones that mark the arrival of our cruise, from "6 months away" to "exactly 8 weeks", etc. And with today being the 3rd of Sept... it means absolutely nothing. Ok, that was pointless. I guess I'll check again later.

AAA has never been much help, at least for anything other than a flat tire or that time I ran out of gas:o

Right now some friends of ours are looking to get a group together for an Alaskan cruise next summer. They are working with an agent from AAA. She seems hel bent on putting us on HAL's Veendam, an older smaller ship. No other choices or suggestions, just give me your money so I can reserve the cabins. And that's just this time, I've tried to use them and just didn't find them to be all that helpful.

But I might give DU atry in the future. Maybe we'll be enticed for next year.

Hi there! Just wanted to add that my DH, DD3, and I and my parents will be on board. This will be their first cruise ever, and my daughter's as well. My husband and I went on the Wonder last year in January and had a fabulous time. This will be our first time on the Magic.

I only just recently found these boards. Wish I had known about them back in January when I booked. It seems that I missed out on some great conversations.

I will freely admit that I made a countdown chain back in April, complete with a construction paper Magic at the end. I was just too excited. My husband rolled his eyes and muttered something about me being crazy and my daughter could have cared less since it didn't have anything to do with princesses or Harry Potter. Is it wrong that I find happiness in ripping off a paper link every day?

I don't know if I can wait another 40 days!

I always drink beer at sailaway. And at the parties. And at dinner.
And in my stateroom. And at DIS gatherings. And in the clubs. Sometimes in the morning. Sometimes afternoon. Occasionally in the mid-afternoon. Once in a while, it might be late evening.

But never at dusk! I would never do that.

Hi Kamgen and Beano!

Beano, you sound just like my dad, although he has to have at least one cup of coffee in the morning before he can move on to the gold stuff.

He always has some golfing. Swimming. Painting the house. Washing his car. He has one when he's thinking about having another one . . . When he asks us what time it is and we've all been trained to answer "Beer- thirty".

My DH likes beer, but he prefers the mixed drinks. And no matter what he says, he's a lightweight. All it takes is two and he's buzzed.

I don't know how my dad will do on the ship though because he has really bad vertigo. He gets sick on Small World. His doctor told him that she would prescribe him a whole bunch of different things so that way he would be fine on board. He's kinda leery about drinking in case it makes him sicker. I'm sure he'll be fine. When my DH and I sailed the last time, the seas were smooth until the last evening, and even then it wasn't bad. My mom will just have to make sure he has his sea-sickness patch on at all times.

BeanoC

They should have no problem keeping up with this group of young kids. If we can do it, I'm sure they will be able to. All it takes is to be young at heart!

They're definitely young at heart. Sometimes we have to worry about keeping up with them!

Hi everyone,

My DH would like to know if there is anyone else out there who will be golfing on St. Thomas. Both he and Disneyana's husband have signed up.

We can't wait....getting more excited by the day!:p

Paul - thanks for the reminder that I need to get my eyeglasses checked. If you really look younger than Pam, I AM going blind. :)

I think I better just sleep from now until the cruise. You young folk are gonna wear me out.
(I better pack the Geritol).

Yeah right, Beano! I seem to recall you staying up way later than I did last year....all the beer must increase your endurance! LOL! ;)

This group is going to have a blast! This will be one heck of a sailaway party! Cannot wait! :)

Kamy, I had to stay up late - your husband made me.

He's a bad influence on me.

Just another busy day! Trying to restrain myself from teaching first graders how to count backwards from 39. (hee-hee-hee)

I put a sign out today for Mr. Fed/Ex. Told him to leave any package with next door neighbor. (Especially since they are going with us, so he'll probably have their docs too!)

BeanoC

Unfortunately, FedEx will no longer leave packages for us here without the specific signature needed. So I have to hope that DW will be home when he delivers them, otherwise it's a 20 mile drive to their office to get them!

But if that's what it takes, I'll probably go get them... I guess it's not a deal breaker!

I too am officially on "Doc Watch"! No big deal picking them up at FedEx. They are only about 5 miutes from here.

My guess is that Beano will once again be the last to get his docs. I think they take a little longer because they print them in gold!

You know, Paul, I hadn't thought of that! :)

Still though, shouldn't royalty get top priority? :p

I guess you know you live in the sticks when the nearest FedEx office is 20 miles away!!

I went on a walk with my DH and daughter today and we saw the FedEx truck pull out from our street. I can't tell you how high our hopes got that the docs had arrived, but nope. Nada. I'm gonna be sitting in front of the fan and staring out the window until that magnificent white truck comes back. With docs.

On the up side, I did get to rip another link. :) One day closer . . .

It's strange...

I remember vividly, sitting on deck with Tim and Kamy, waiting to book this cruise while still on board. Yep, a whole year ago. It seemed like it would be forever until this cruise came around! And here we are, barely able to contain ourselves because we don't have docs yet! Makes me wonder, how did we get through the first 11 months?? ;)

I'll be patient for another week or so... but after that...

Be afraid. Be very afraid.

I had to talk to my TA yesterday (finally able to get him on the phone!) we are adding to our group again...anyway he said our docs were being being done as he talked to them. Supposedly we are on an almost full sailing.

What is it about docs? Just pieces of paper, but we get them and they make us do all sorts of happy dances:D

Hey Beano,

If the ship is full, that will probably mean more money that you can win at Bingo this year!!!

Hi Everyone!

Wow, you stay away for a few days and the place turns into a jungle. After reading some of the other posts out there, I'm glad to be here inside of our "happy" little thread. :)

I'm ready for my docs AND a sailaway drink. Everyone sing - only 38 days until we cruise, 38 days 'til we cruise ...

So, guys are you going to wear pants?

kamgen
09-10-2003, 11:16 AM
Spud- Welcome back!

Are you joking about the pants thing?? :)

Well, we leave for FL in 4 weeks and 2 days! I am so ready...just need those docs! :)

Kamy
The pants thing is definitely no joke!:D
There is quite the thread from imgoingtodisney (who is just a little to preoccupied with every detail of their cruise IMHO;) )whose husband refuses to wear pants!!! DOESN"T OWN ANY!?!?!?

According to her, he lives in shorts and sweat pants. Since he's an orderly at a hospital he wears scrubs for work, but c'mon, no jeans, a pair of khakis aren't lurking in his closet somewhere? She's hoping for the rotation that will let her go to Palo on formal night, but not miss out on the AP show. If I remember correctly, we were in AP on formal night last time, and the show wasn't done that night anyway. But sheesh! What a tempest in a teapot! That thread dissolved into lynch mob mentality. People were telling her to kick the bum to the curb;) Which did bring up an interesting question...why was she forcing this guy to on a vacation that he was fighting so hard (not just about the pants, either, she posts almost daily with some crisis).

Anyway, it is so nice to be on our thread. Where the folks are normal, kind, steadfast and true (sigh!)

Now where's my sailaway drink? Where are my docs? How many more days?

Loretta was right on target. I was "trying" to joke about imgoingtodisney's pants problem. Between that and people being banned and people being off topic, it's just scary out there!

Just for the record, DH WILL wear pants for dinner. There's no way I'd let him go in his BVDs. ;)

Kamy - You don't have any of your docs? Even for your Wonder cruise? Seems like you should at least have those by now.

(tchrmom, pretends to hold sailaway drink in hand while typing this)

Since Fed/EX brought the tickets last year, I assumed they would bring them this year.....so I wrote my note to: Dear Mr. Fed/EX. However, it was UPS that brought them. Did Disney change carriers?

Now, who needs a sailaway drink? I have the blender out.......

I hope EVERYONE gets their tickets today!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Loretta, how dare you accuse of of such things! I am appalled.

I do not have any docs yet either, for this cruise or the Wonder cruise. I might have to get nervous about it pretty soon!

This is Disneyana -- using my mom's name since I can't seem to get mine to work. Anyhow . . .

Got my docs! Got my docs! Got my docs! *Does the happy dance -scary sight - everyone should close their eyes* LOL :D :D :D

My parents got theirs today as well. UPS pulled up right as I was leaving to go have lunch with them. I think I scared the poor delivery man because I screamed right on the spot when he handed them to me. :p

tchrmom -- I'll gladly have one of those sailaway drinks . . .

Cheers!
