Hi!

I just saw your posting (And just found this website!) and thought I'd reply with a YES! We're going on the Disney Magic 11/08/03!

It will be our second Disney cruise, but we've been on several cruises over the years. :)

My wife and I will be taking our daughter, Karli (Age 5) - and who knows? Maybe we'll see you at the Oceaneers Lab?

I hope you have a MAGICAL cruise - and see you there!

Hi!

I did e-mail David (Dwbarc), and he sent the copies of the newsletters right out. They were great to read, and you could feel the excitement in each one. :)

Since you asked about my family -- here goes! We're from New York, and we're openly addicted to cruising! The Disney Magic Cruise for 11/8 will be our 11th cruise, and our second with Disney. This trip will be me, DW and DD age 5. We've cruise with Carnival, Royal Caribbean, and Disney. Each cruise line has it's own flair, and we love each cruise! In fact, we'll be "cruising -- before we're cruising." Right before we cruise on the Disney Magic on 11/8, we'll be cruising on the Carnival Glory, November 1st! So for us, it's a treat -- then another treat! See? We ARE addicted to cruising! ;)

I hope to see you on board, and if you have any questions on cruising - I'd be more than happy to try to answer anything I can.

Bon Voyage!!

Tim

Is your other cruise other leaving & returning from Port Canaveral? Sat to Sat? Where are you cruisin to?
Where in NY are you? I lived on the island (Port Jeff) until I was 11 a long long long time ago

TimmyVan

Hi again!

First, may I ask your first name? It'd make it friendlier to reply to you - and if I see you on board! :)

We're from Putnam County, in a town called Mahopac. It's not that far off from Port Jeff - an hour and a half maybe? We have family on the Island, in Syossett - but man, do we hate the L.I.E! (Long Island Expressway)

Our first cruise this trip, is on the Carnival Glory which starts on Saturday, November 1st, out of Port Canaveral. After cruising with Carnival - we'll take a taxi across the pier, and catch the Disney Magic!

Since I'm traveling on two ships, I have Avis reservations for my transfers from Orlando International Airport to the pier. This way my round trip transfers are about 80.00 for the three of us. And, since getting off the Magic is a snap, we'll have the car to go to Downtown Disney, instead of being stuck at the airport waiting for our flight. ;)

The Carnival Glory sails the eastern Caribbean going to Nassau, St. Thomas and St. Maarten. Once we're back at Port Canaveral - we'll hop a taxi to the other side of the pier, and board the Magic!
We should be very early for the Magic, if all goes according to plan ... (crosses fingers)

Well, let me look in my snail mail box -- and see if my tickets have arrived!! Again, if you have any questions -- feel free to ask!

Tim

Have a great time on your cruise before the cruise. Wow!

now, if memory serves me correcly, there are now three families from putnam county on this western cruise. not bad from a county of only 95,000 residents. This is very very interesting. Timmyvan, are you a transplant from westchester/nyc and if so, how long have you been up here?

TimmyVan
09-24-2003, 07:40 PM
Hi acrucifer!

Are you from Putnam County as well? We bought our home in 1993, and just love it in Mahopac. My wife was originally from Dobbs Ferry, N.Y and I grew up in Pleasantville, N.Y.

Sometimes it is a "Small World" on board a cruise ship. In 2001, while sailing on board the Carnival Sprit, I met someone on from Mahopac - only a few miles away! I passed her house each time I brought my daughter to preschool, I'd "honk" the horn as I drove by, so she'd know I was around. And to make it even more unbelievable, her nephew is a coworker of mine! Small world, huh? :)

Do you have any children traveling with you this trip? It'd be great if I could "pump up" my DD Karli (age 5) by telling her she's going to meet "so and so" in the Oceaneers Lab! :)

Bon Voyage!

Tim

no Tim, sorry we dont have children. but my wife and her family are also from pleasantville. I am a lifelong resident of putnam county. I still love living in putnam, but it is starting to get a little crowded if you know what I mean. I really miss the dairy farms, but thats progress, I guess. anyway, we are addicted to Disney World and have only recently discovered the wonders of cruising. I could care less if we never cruised any lines other than disney. Disney is just a very happy place, and when you live in new york and see what I see working in southern westchester every day, vacationing in the happiest place on earth is a good thing. anyway, we look forward to meeting all dis ers aboard the magic.

Hi all,

I have been trying to not visit too often until after the 60 day mark. I was sure surprised to see so many posts to this area when I started lurking again about a week ago.

I am sure you have already talked about this earlier but I need a refresher on what everyone is doing or thinks is the best thing to do in Cozumel.

We have a 7 year old named Johnathan. He is very adventerous and likes to try new things. This is our first Western Carib. cruise. We plan on doing Captain Marvin's Half day in Grand Caymens.

I would like some feedback on excursions, ship excursions versus doing on your own. All input welcome!

I can't believe we are finally this close!

acrucifer~ where in Putnam County do you live?

acrucifer & TimmyVan~ We live in Danbury, about a 1/2 hr. ? from Mahopac. I'm sure you've been to the Danbury Fair Mall, we're not too far from there at all. We're on the Ridgefield border. I went to high school in Somers, not too far from you. I grew up in Westchester, in Chappaqua- next to Pleasantville. It's changed quite a bit since I lived there & since Hil' & Bill moved into town. I'm amazed at how all the towns have changed every time I take the train into the city. I usually go out of Brewster North, near Carmel.

Barb~ Port Jeff is the cutest little town! We take the Ferry there when I go to my sister's house, in Westhampton ~ not too far from there. We take the ferry to avoid the LIE ~ we hate it too!

Hi Linda!

It's great we have so many friendly people going on this cruise, and so many that are neighbors! I see you take the train each day to get to work-so maybe we already know each other? I'm a conductor for Metro North ... so maybe we've "already met?" Like I said before -- it can be a "Small World After All" ...

we all close to one another. Danbury is nearly as close as mahopac. I went to the danbury fair as a child when it was still a fair. it was a nice experience. like a big ole country fair with car races. anyway, tim, you will probably recognize me since I took the train from brewster north for several years from 1995 to 1997 and I definintely remember a conductor with your name. I am on the job in white plains and would regularly chat with the conductors on my way to white plains. of course, you may not be the same tim, but it is interesting none the less how our lives can interesect one another.

is it not too early for our cruise docs? last year, I booked 11 months in advance and didnt get my cruise docs until 10 days before the magic set sail. dont misunderstand, I am very excited to get my cruise docs!! I am just wondering if perhaps they are going out earlier this year?

TimmyVan
09-25-2003, 07:15 PM
I usually get the cruise docs about 30 days before sailing. I'm guessing that mine will come a little later than that though - I have a guaranteed upgrade, and those tend to be "last minute assignments."

But I'm checking the mailbox everyday hoping!!! :) :)

I dont think so - maybe a little earlier but I dont think much earlier
This time last yr I think we got our docs btwn 4-6wks prior
Still have all 3 complete sets - we were suppose to be in SPR #5520. They are currently in my suitcase until the new docs arrive - lol

I happened to be leaving my house after lunch break last yr when I saw the UPS truck drive around our circle. Well I just had to stop him to see if he had our docs! Hoping my timing works out again this year

If you book via DVC, for some reason those docs seem to go out later than TA/DCL booked people. We got ours about 10- 14 before on each of our last 2 cruises.

Perhaps DCL sends the docs to DVC for forwarding to us. I never paid attention to where mine came from, but all of my previous cruises were on DVC points. I don't remember how far in advance the docs came - as long as I had them before I left home I didn't care!

On my non-Disney cruises, the cruise line has always sent my docs to my travel agent, and the TA sent them to me. That's why I'm thinking DVC may be involved as an extra step here.

Hi Dianthus, My husband Dick and I are natives from New Milford, having retired to Fl. last year. Drop in to see "Stew Leonard's," for me. Sounds like we got out right in time before last winter. Couldn't be happier!!! See you on Board. We're room 7070!!

Hi Figgy!

Did you have a crystal ball? Last winter was the absolute worst around here ~ for as long as I can remember. The winter didn't end until May! LOL!

The hardest part about leaving this area is leaving "Stews" ~ the best! If I think of it, I'll bring ya some of Bethy's chocolate chip cookies! We really are spoiled around here! They do gift baskets now. You should send yourself one!!

We are in 7544. Lots of people onboard from our area! I guess we all need some Caribbean sunshine before the winter sets in! If we have another one like last year, we're coming down there too!

Look forward to meeting all of you!

The last 2 times Sheila & I have done a Magic cruise our dining rotation has been LAPLAPL - and I expect that's what it will be this time as well. I enjoy the 4 "special" menus much more than the regular menus, and I plan to book Palo for Monday night. That means we'll skip Parrot Cay (which is fine by me), and it's also formal night so the "nicer" restaurant will be more appropriate than pretending to have a formal meal in Parrot Cay!

Any DISers interested in joining us at Palo? I'm thinking around 6:30....time to do the 5:45 cocktail reception, and meander to dinner at a leisurely pace. Neither of us cares about missing Hercules this time around.

dianthus
09-29-2003, 12:48 AM
I think I posted this before in this thread. On our last 2 cruises booked with DVC points, our docs came 10 to 14 days beforehand. Sorry Barb! Maybe they'll send them early to you.

It really doesn't matter, unless you book a stateroom GTY, then I would guess you get your cabin assignment in them. If you book Disney excursions, you can do it 60 days ahead of time now. In the past you had to wait until you got your docs. Dining rotations and KTTW cards are received at the Port when you check in.

wdw1972, thanks for the invite, but we are doing Palo on Tuesday, which is our anniversary. Sounds like a good plan, as formal wear seems so right for Palo. Enjoy!

I was thinking of trying for Palos on Mon night also. Thinking that DH will be in a tux both formal & semi-formal nights. Want to be in the dining room Th night so we can celebrate my birthday w/DS.
Wasnt sure what time we were going to ask for though. Maybe I'll try for 630 with the idea that if DH backs out I wont be eating alone. Thanks for the invite.
Hoping for Palos brunch Sun morn to celebrate our anniversary (Oct 17 which we also share w/Beverly)

I called DVC 1 day last wk and we are in room 6124 as thought since last Dec. (And yes they have us at 1/2pts) We need to rollover 92pts by end of Nov to next year. When we get off the Magic I get to book our 1st trip home to WL for next Oct.

Anyone else gonna be at the port planning their days once they get their dining rotations?

Take care everyone. Only 38more days till we leave

Glad to see so many 5 and 6 yr old kids on the cruise - our DD (Marissa), who is 5, will be so thrilled! Our other 2 dd's are a year apart in age (9 and 10), so they always have each other to hang-out with.

Hey, Goofy4WDW59 - looks like we will be cruise-neighbors with you on Deck 5 (Momof2GreatGirls and her extended family are also neigbors). Where in Illinois are you from???

The time is flying by so quickly until the cruise (having such busy lives makes the wait so much easier!!!) We started pulling out luggage the other day, and realized that we need some new pieces to add to our collection. We are now looking for a great deal on luggage (anyone know of a good internet site for luggage bargains???)

Take care!!

Come on Docs! :)

I am blizting in and out of the boards lately - I get about five minutes and then I'm off! At this rate, I feel like the cruise is coming on WAY too fast. What happened to all that time??

Sue - Parrot Cay would be my pick for a skip too, but I have no idea what we will end up with. Right now, I'm leaning towards the 14th for Palo's - even though it's the last night, and that's a busy night. It's just a special anniversary for us....no matter where we are on the ship - it will be GREAT, but I was thinking that perhaps Palo's might be nice. I don't think we'll know for sure until I'm standing in line making the actual reservation! :)

Time to buckle down and make final arrangements...

Now, what wine am I bringing?? Hmmm...no...make that what wine am i sharing - that's the more important question!! :p

Hello All,
I need the weekend (actually Sunday) to get the next newsletter done. So, it is coming out on Monday. We picked up a good number of new folks so I want to get them all properly introduced to everyone. Just can't seem to find enough free time during the week to put it together with all the kid activities, etc.

Look over the cruis docs last night. Got tons to do. Started our cruise stuff box. Already almost full. With 7 of us I'll probably have more than one box.

Hello All! I can't get on the boards as often as I'd like--this past month has been so busy!
I just wanted to say that we got our cruise docs today!:D (I can't believe I didn't know what the package was until I opened it:p--I'm far too distracted with school stuff)
Now, I'm really starting to get excited about the cruise.
Hello 3MinnieMom! We are from Westmont/southwest suburbs. I was so happy to get the "SPR" rooms--I was glad to see another DIS'er got the other ones:D .
I pulled out our luggage the other day and I'm starting to get the kids stuff together. How many pairs of shorts, etc are you all bringing for the kids? I was thinking of bringing more shorts/only a pair or two of long pants? I don't want to bring too much and may try to do laundry one time.

No docs here either. I called the TA, and she didn't get them today.

Am I correct in my thoughts that people who book with DCL get theirs first, then TAs and then DVC?

What do you think of that logic?

I don't know why I am so aflutter, no mystery here, have specific rooms booked, so don't expect anything different there.

Did look on travelocity and most rooms up through Cat. 8 are now GTY, so it looks like a busy ship for us.

Hope all are doing well.

See you soon.

Perhaps DVC is a bit slower, as when they receive the docs from DCL, they have to pay for all us point people to cruise!

DVC probably doesn't have to pay up at the 60 day window, as a "family" courtesy may be extended... Takes time to convert all those points into cash!

I don't care when I get them, as long as I get them before we leave. :D

Travel Agent called yesterday and has our docs!!! It is getting close. I bought my wrinkle releaser yesterday.

OK....I still haven't booked a snorkling trip for Grand Caymen yet. I found that Captain Marvin offers a conch dive on its full day excursion. Conch season starts November 1st. You get to dive and get your own conch and they will clean them for you. I thought this would be so much fun for the kids and a neat suvioner that has a great story to go along with it.
Now my problem...I don't want to do a full day excursion. Does anyone know if anyone else offers a conch dive with a half day excursion?

My other thought is doing a private tour with the conch dive, stingray city and barrier reef. It is quite a bit more expensive if we book this for just our family but if I could find 10 more people to join us it would actually be cheeper to do the private tour than the half day group tour. Is there anyone intrested that has not booked a snorkling tour yet???

We got our Docs yesterday!!! Since this is our first Disney cruise, I was expecting flat envelopes - I thought these boxes were something for my husband (like a computer part from Dell!!) My kids were so excited to see their names on the docs.

Hey, Goofy4WDW59 - we are from the opposite side of Chicago, the far Northwest suburbs (Woodstock, to be exact - just South of Lake Geneva, WI). Now I wonder who got the other 2 "SPR's" on Deck 5. We are looking forward to meeting you and your family (as well as all the other 11/08 DIS cruisers!) As far as the # of shorts and long pants per kid...my 3 girls and I did some real summer clearance power shopping in August. Now I'm afraid we will be seriously overpacking, just to justify our purchases!!! We are also going to Universal Studios for 3 days prior to the cruise (we leave 5 weeks from today). We will need to pack extra for that part of the trip. I envision my husband's face now, as we stand in line at the ticket counter at O'Hare with a stream of luggage in tow...I better start sorting and narrowing-down clothing choices now!!

Dianthus - thanks for the advice on ebags.com. I went on their website yesterday, and they seem to have some real bargains!!!

Take care, everyone!!

I'm also in the suburbs....Brookfield. We live about a mile from the zoo. :)

We got our documents yesterday and no surprises. Same room we booked on our last cruise ,2105. We were happy with this room last time for an interior room. We were hoping for an upgrade but docs say 2105.

Are you allowed to bring the conch shells back to the ship and into the US? I have wondered on past cruises if we could buy shells and bring them back but have never ask.
If anyone knows please let us know.

We are getting really excited. We plan to spend 1 full day at the parks the day before we sail and do a Cinderella castle breakfast the day we depart. We were lucky enough to get these ressies after many years of trying. Our breakfast time is for 10:10am. Does anyone know how long that usually takes and if that would be any problem with us getting to the ship on time? We will have a rental car and will be driving to the port. We don't necessarily have to be there when they start to board since this is our 6th cruise and we know what routine we like.

When I called Captain Marvins I asked if we could get the conch cleaned (the conch out of its shell) and was told they would clean them for us and asked if I was on a cruise then recommended getting a bucket and soaking the the shells in ammonia for 24 hour as they would stink up the room. There is also a limit of 10 conch per boat, no matter how many people are on the boat. I assume if you were not permitted to bring them back to the ship/US then she would have said something at that time.

Looks like New Englanders and Illinoisians will rule on the ship this cruise. Our last cruise, New England really ruled. It was spring break for us, which is a bit later than the rest of the country. Just about everyone was from Connecticut, Rhode Island & Massachussetts. It was strange!

A family from Mass. won $8000 at the last Bingo game. Maybe this could be your very lucky cruise Barb! :) Someone on the ship said it was tax free because it was won in international waters! I don't know whether that was true... David, Is that true?

I LOVE Chicago! Can I be an honorary "Illinoisian"?!

3Minniemom~ Glad ebags worked out. Go to Couponmountain.com. Sometimes I've seen e-coupons for them- 20% off 1 items, or $20 off a $100 purchase. They list the codes. Can you tell I'm an internet shopper?

I found Seasafe on eBay for $10.99 a bottle + $2.00 shipping. That's cheap! Got it in 3 days. I paid $20 for it on Lifestylesdirect last cruise. Nov. is not the active season for them, but I'm not taking chances. We were at CC in April ( worst time for sea lice) and there were many people suffering from the red blotches from jelly fish stings. We were really glad we had it on- no problems...

good morning everyone
We leave in 5wks, 8hrs, 22mins

My immediate boss gave her notice yesterday. The rumor that was going around a few wks ago was a joke that turned into reality. Ive had time to adjust but now my coworkers who were in on the joke are stressing. Her last day will be Oct 31st.
She's out on vaca (to Aruba) Oct 3-13.

Mon Oct 27 I signed up to have a flu shot. If anything happens on the 11/8 cruise maybe we'll have more of an idea what it really is.

Did you see that the Golden Mickey's show may be debuting on Oct 11 cruise? Just took a peek at their thread

Have a good day everyone

Good Morning! I saw this on the 10/11 thread & thought it was a great packing tip. Thought I'd share:

Packing tip!...Make photo copies of your birth certificates, passports, credit cards, and drivers licence. Put the copies in your suitcase. If (God forbid) you lose your wallet or are the victim of a crime, you will have the needed info to continue your trip.

Thanks Relling Twin!

Got ours today.

Cabin number 6641.

I didn't mind being in 2021 last year but this will be a change not being down there.

We pretty much know what we are looking forward to doing on the ship but unlike last year we have no idea what we are doing on land with the exception of CC.

Does anyone know what time the mini golf outing is and how we are to get in?:yo-yo:

Thanks - I found the thread! 4 more New Englanders!

I know I sound naive, but when we sailed last year, we had an extremely trying week dealing with the cruise being cancelled....we were already in FL and had to really scramble. On top of having suistcases full of clothes for a cruise and not for 45 degree Orlando rain. But, trying to put that behind us -

We're on Deck 8 - can't remember the #. Is there anything special given to repeat cruisers? Last year we celeabrated twins bday onboard - and they were given the cake. This year it's our 19th anniv. - any other things they can give you other than the sickningly sweet cake!
Heard a rumor that room service has items that are not on the menu - anyone out there no what they are? Special ice cream, treats etc...
Does anyone know if food on Castaway is different for 7 day than 4 day.
Can you really wear dress shorts to the DR on tropical night?
Anyone gone on the Catamaran snorkel/beach in GC? Or the Atlantis Explorerr in Cozumel? How are they for 7 yr. olds?
Do you eat at the beach after the Catamaran sail? Or should we bring food for kids?
MOST IMPORTANT - where do you wait in line for Paolo resv? Should I get in line immediately after boarding and send hubby with kids to pool!

Hi glad you found your way over here. I looked to see if I could either PM or email you but couldnt.
Im also a part of that 11/30 cancelled cruise mess. There are at least 5 families on the 11/8 cruise that were part of this. It was definately much colder in Orlando than we anticipated with the Caribbean cruise. There was a day at EpCot we were in winter coats and pants. With any luck it wont happen again. Having a flu shot Oct 27.
A bunch of us are planning on Sally's mini-golf in Cozumel and snorkeling w/Cpt Marvin's on Grand Cayman.
Can I ask which room youre in on deck 8? Also are you down for main or late dining? Creating a list to be included in the next newsletter.
Please email dave at dwbarc@aol.com. He has been sending out newsletters to our group. Next one due out early next week.
Yes I have heard dress shorts are allowed in the dining rooms on mexicalinight.
Are you planning on dinner at Palos? Im hoping to get there for our 22nd anniversary dinner and my 46th b'day brunch. Im planning on running directly to sign-up for Palos once we board the ship. DH can save me a spot for lunch while DS11 enjoys the pool.
Our DISers are celebrating quite a bit on this cruise! Lots of birthdays and anniversaries.
Where and when are you flying out of? We're flying from TF Green early Fri morn; staying Fri night at the Radisson at the port. There's a few families staying there that night so we're planning on a small DISmeet.
Also a wine tasting DIS meet on Mon morn.
Will "talk" with you soon. Less than 35days till we leave!

yes shooter, I believe that was the name of our room attendant. my wife loved the animals made of towels each night. very nice touch. we cruised the first week of november 11-2-11-9, something like that. but the first week of november anyway. we have visited disney world 4 times before embarking on the cruise I wanted nothing to do with. I thought I would be bored. It was, unequivocally, the finest vacation I ever had. breathtaking and left me exhuberant. not suprisingly, we bought dvc memberships before the week was over. anyway, I am writing a novel here so will stop for now. but very excited about our 2nd magical cruise and much needed vacation.

Ok gang,
I've come up with what I think is the best that the Fingerlakes
of NY have to offer in wine. My question is, will one bottle be enough for the tasting ? Thoughts and comments please.Just a
little hint ( Johannesburg Dry Reisling) .The climate in New York
is identical to that of Germany. This is why the German style wines are so good from this area. See you on board.

Hi all,

We all 3 had our flu shots today! We want to make sure we are good and immune before we cruise. Wasn't it not too much later than this last year when the flu hit a number of the cruise ships? We don't want to spend too much time in the bed. Who wants to go home rested anyway!

We will be there in 34 days. We plan to spend 1 day at the park's before our annual pass is up for this year.

Had my DD in for her annual check up yesterday. Asked the Ped. if the flu shot would help ward off Norwalk Virus symptoms. She said most likely no, Norwalk is bacterial & is highly contagious once it gets going. Not much you can do about it except wash your hands frequently to protect yourself...She did recommend a Hep. A immunization for travel in Caribbean & Mexico against Hepatitis A a food bourne virus that you can get very sick from~ especially in Mexico. It needs to be done 30 days before travel. She recommended DH & I get one too. Most kids have gotten their 2nd Hep B vaccination before entering Middle school.

She recommends it more from the stand point of if you are exposed you don't want to be ill while you are away.

Never had it for travel in Caribbean before. Mexico I can understand...

Has anyone else's Dr. or Ped. recommend this vaccination? Just curious...

Pulled out our NCL folder from 12/01 and found maps of both Key West & Cozumel - shows where the stores, attractions, bars are located with detailed descriptions of the stores. They are the port & cruise guides. Also have the Key West Chamber of Commerce official map. The Cozumel port & cruise guide is where I took notes when I went to the port talk on NCL - tells where the "best" stores are located. (Won 1 of those tshirts where it changes color in the light.)

Life has been busy but we're still here and can't wait to get on that cruise ship.

We're flying out of TF Green on Thursday night and we'll be staying at the Wyndham Palace Resort and Spa ($63.00 with Priceline) on Thurs and Friday night. We have tentative plans to visit the Magic Kingdom on Friday. This will be a surprise for Kaelyn and Serena.

We've rented a car to get us from place to place. When we return from the cruise we'll spend Sat night at the Hilton in WDW ($60 with Priceline). We'll probably just spend this day in Downtown Disney and at the pool. We have a very early flight on Sunday morning.

We got our cruise documents last week. I haven't filled them out yet but will probably do that this week.

We haven't booked any excursions and I'm not sure what we will do about that. Having a 4 year old makes things a little more difficult.

Well, I just wanted to let you know that I'm still here and I read this thread as often as I can.
See you soon!

I'm not going on this cruise so pardon the intrusion, but I was searching for something else and came upon this post. I thought Norwalk was a VIRUS and NOT bacterial. I'm REALLY surprised that your ped would say that it's bacterial. The best way to prevent Norwalk and Norwalk-like gastrointestinal viruses is through diligent hand washing.

Lisa

dianthus

Lisa~ I stand corrected... What I wrote didn't sound right to me either after I posted... She did say Norwalk was a VIRUS, but a flu shot would not help. We were talking about viral vs. bacterial issues... She's not crazy about cruise ships in general...

I wanted to get the Hep A info out there, as it needs to be administered 30 days ahead, which we are close to... I had my DD vaccinated, but I'm not sure about us- whether it's necessary.. Never had it for the Caribbean & have been many times with no problems, but never been to Mexico....

If Norwalk is on the ship, there's nothing you can do about except be diligent about handwashing... We have many displaced cruisers from last year's unfortunate episode on this sailing... Hopefully, that's in the past for the Magic..

I think I'm going to stick to lurking on these boards...

This is how to prevent Hep A from the CDC.

Boiling or cooking food and beverage items for at least 1 minute to 185° F (85° C) inactivates HAV. Foods and beverages heated to this temperature and for this length of time cannot serve as vehicles for HAV infection unless they become contaminated after heating. Adequate chlorination of water as recommended in the United States will inactivate HAV. Travelers should be advised that, to minimize their risk of hepatitis A and other enteric diseases in resource-poor countries, they should avoid potentially contaminated water or food. Travelers should also be advised to avoid drinking beverages (with or without ice) of unknown purity, eating uncooked shellfish, and eating uncooked fruits or vegetables that are not peeled or prepared by the traveler personally.

Hey Amie -

We may see you around. We are also staying at the Wyndham Palace Resort and Spa on Thursday and Friday nights. We paid $89/night on HOtel Kingdom.com because we needed a 2 bedroom.

We are also going to MK on Friday and then we plan Epcot on the return date, spending the night at Wyndham Palace again. We then fly out at 11:40 am on Sunday.

We also have a four year old so I completely understand what you are doing.

I hope our 4 year olds can get together so they can have "built in" friends on-board.

Hope to hear from you soon.

Here is some more info on the Eclipse. It looks like the late diners will be able to catch it right before dinner the first night.

Saturday, November 8, 2003

Note: The November 8th eclipse, listed below in Eastern Standard Time (EST) as November 9th in Universal Time (UT). For EST, subtract 5 hours from UT, which may put you in the previous day. (For example, 01:30 UT on November 9 is the same as 8:30 p.m. EST on November 8.)

Moonrise at 5:27 p.m.

(Penumbral begins 5:15 p.m. )

Partial lunar eclipse begins 6:32 p.m.

Total lunar eclipse begins 8:06 p.m.

Greatest eclipse 8:18 p.m.

Total lunar eclipse ends 8:30 p.m.

Partial lunar eclipse ends 10:04 p.m.

We've finally taken the suitcases out and now I'm working on packing Kaelyn's clothes first. Then I'll tackle our clothes. I think that I'm going to bring some of our clothes to be pressed and I'll hope for the best. I really don't want to have to iron while I'm on vacation.

I've already mentioned to Beverly that Kaelyn is pretty shy. I'm hoping that if I talk to her about the other 4 year olds on the cruise she'll be more likely to spend more time in the clubs.

My DH just goes with the flow and doesn't show alot of excitement. He's so calm and I'm nearly jumping out of my skin with excitement. Although, I did print the menus from ***************** and he did get excited about the food. It took alot of concvincing to get him on this cruise but now he's looking forward to it. Knowing him, he'll be hooked.

We did the Magic western last summer and the lobster was available at lunch at Serenity Bay (adult beach). It was plentiful and delicious. We were told by a cast member that it is the lobster that was cooked but not served onboard ship in the dining rooms the night before so it is deshelled, refrigerated and brought out and grilled up only the adult beach.
Hope you get over to get some!

Hi all,

The cruise docs have arrived and been read and filled out.

The suitcases are waiting for the summer clothes that can no longer be worn with the weather we have been having in the Chicago Area.

The van is cleaned out and ready to filled with suitcases and
video games and dvd's and cd's. (todays kids sure have it tough
we were crammed into a car and had to sit there and be quite during our vacations.) (Who am I kidding if DW drives at all I will probably be fighting for the Playstation Controls.)

Ben(DS11) has been practicing his mini golf and says he will ready for Cozumel ;)

It looks like we won't be joining the group meeting on Friday night at the Radisson as Glenda(DW) came up with a great idea.
If we leave a little earlier on Thursday we can try to get to EPCOT
Friday night or first thing Saturday morning and try out Mission Space.:hyper: :hyper: (I knew there was something about her that I liked.)

If the Cubs can keep playing for a couple more weeks it will be alot of waiting for the cruise to get here.

Thanks Nuke. I knew there was a reason we picked second dining - even though I've had second thoughts about that a few times. I wonder if we'll have enough time to view this after the show?? If not, we'll try to situate ourselves so that we can scoot out early from the show without climbing over other people. Or, we may skip the show - as I think this would be pretty cool. Plus, it counts towards those "educational moments" when my son can say, yes, I know I missed school - but....

Yes, I am working on DIS meet and Wine/Beer/Cheesefest.

I am finishing up this weekend (have been busy sewing outfit for Amelia for formal night and need to finish mine for formal night - then just 1 Halloween costume and I'll be done!) and will post on thread and will send to David for next newsletter.

I'm a scrapbookaholic but I'm really behind getting my photos in albums. Right now I'm still working on our Dec. 2002 trip to WDW. I'd like to get that complete before the cruise. Wishful thinking. Does anyone know if they selling cruise scrapbook supplies on the ship? I'd love to buy some.

I'll have my dancing shoes on for the cruise! You can't miss me - I'm the extremely lucky lady with a long scar down the back of my leg, who was directed to an extremely gifted Dr., by someone who obviously has plans for me, and no sign of anything in my leg that shouldn't be there. :)

Now isn't it ironic that in Aug 2002, right around our big WDW vacation, before we knew our world would be rocked, we booked a cruise for Nov. 8th - 15th....of 2003 "just for us". and then on Nov. 14th, 2002 - a whole new chapter in our lives opened up!

I'm sorry for going slightly OT, but I'm a just-scanned, kind of private person who just felt the need to suddenly open up and say - I'll bring the BUBBLY to the DIS MEET, because I feel like the luckiest person on earth right now! :bounce:

Full moon, Eclipse - bring it on!!! I'm sending in my order for our shirts... The Tux... the rooms before and after - We are GOING!!!
:bounce: I've got a LOT to do this weekend!

Do they have a bouncy for dancing shoes? This is the closest I could find to me at the moment. And, do ya' notice it has red hair? And they call it crazy? Now, come on, what is THAT all about?? ;)

See you on the cruise! (okay - so I opened the bubbly early!! :teeth: )

Do you want to get together on board to share scrapbooking ideas and just to get to know each other. Then we can share pictures and help each other work on our layouts after we get home.

Let me know what you think, and if anyone has an idea for a good time to get together, please make suggestions. This is my first cruise, so I don't know the routine. :scratchin

Okay, I just reread the last 6 months of posts and need some input from your all regarding our group meetings.

Beer/Wine/Cheesefest - it sems that everyone is okay with this event on Monday afternoon. What time do you prefer, 2:30, 3:00 or 3:30 p.m. I know it is either formal or semi-formal night (never can remember) and pictures start at 5:00. Location might be Deck 7 Aft with a poor weather alternative of Promenade Lounge.

DISMeet - I suggest 4:30 (right after drill) until 5:00 when sail away party begins. What about location? Deck 10 overlooking Deck 9 and Promenade as a poor weather alternative?

Please give me your input.

Other housekeeping items - I have a ton of lime green mickey heads. If you would like me to get some ready for your family, please pm me with your names, and an address to send them to.

Barb - as for corkscrews - as long as you pack it in your checked luggage, you should be fine - just don't carry it on the plane as carry-on!

BTW - who is organizing poker game? DH is just wondering where and when.

David - could you please include info in your next newsletter?
Or if you prefer, I'll set it up as a word document for you to e-mail to everyone.

Have a great week and Happy Columbus Day.

Hi Bev,
I will include all the info about the wine and cheese and Dismeet in an email going out tomorrow or Wednesday. Personally, I am all for starting the wine tasting at anytime, but the earlier the better so I vote for 2:30 but will defer to the majority.

4:30 for the Dismeet sounds great. I have a special bubble machine that I am hoping I can fit in my luggage for the occasion.

Thanks for getting this together

Ok parents of 10-12 boys:
Are your boys looking forward to the structured activities in the Lab? or the free-time?
DS is looking more forward to the free-time, movies, just hanging out
Are you giving your kids free roam? Hoping the kids communicate through notes left in your room? Thinking of it except when we are in Port
Have you sent your notes in to their teachers yet?

Guess what I just got from inter-library loan? The Passporter's field guide to the disney cruise line and its caribbean ports of call! Have you guys seen this yet? Of course as soon as I saw it I gave my boss the ISBN and she is now ordering me my own copy. Surprised it took me this long! I knew it was avail online but first time I saw it in book form. Hello all,

It's getting close, I guess I should start packing.

Barb,

Based on Ben(DS11) I would say that about 50-60% of the time he preferred the activity that was being done at the lab. We have been on the 3 day and 4 day Disney Wonder cruise over the last 2 years when he was 9 we were convinced to give him the freedom to check himself out of the lab but only with our approval after he paged us. The pagers they give to the parents seem to be a good idea. Last year as a 10yo he was able to check himself in and out. I believe this is the labs standard practice for 10 and above.
Ben is looking forward to going to movies or the gameroom or pool on his own this year. We will most likely give him this freedom but we are still going to make him let us know where he is whenever he leaves the lab. Either in person, via the pager or a message on the cabin phone.
We are fortunate the Ben is responsible for his age and alot may depend on the individual child but for what it it worth this is our experience.

I hope this helps, good luck and we will see of you soon,

John

Boys interests at 10-12 are much different than girls in that group. My DD who turned 11 on our last cruise said most of the boys in the group were really into the lab computer games. They had to fight the boys to get a computer when they wanted to play them. The girls were more into the activities they offer, but found them a bit boring... She said the counselors are great. She said the boys seemed to like the sport court as well. They were ticked the girls kept beating them badly & kept challenging them to a new game of Bball. If any of you have sons that are into Bball, our 2 girls will give them a real challenge.. Living in the land of the Huskies, girl's Bball is big here in CT, so beware...

We got motorolas walkie talkies from Costco, pretty cheaply, with the changeable sub channels. They worked well all over the ship & the girls would call us when they left the lab to go elsewhere. It gave them freedom, but gave us peace of mind too. We told them no hanging out in the stateroom corridors for safety sake- only public areas... The girls were very responsible & it made us proud that they handled the independence so well. I believe they only handed out pagers to parents of kids under 10 on the Magic, as 10 & up can check out of the lab on their own- I may be wrong, so you may want to check. I plan on bringing ours again. It may be a worthwhile investment for you. Our friends had a different brand of walkie talkies & their daughter's did not work well at all, so they used my DD's. I would stick with the Motorolas as they work well if you are going to buy some.

My DD & her friend that's coming are just shy of 13, but are just older for their age. They look & act older. They play Bball & soccer with 13, 14 & 15 yr. olds so they are used to being around teens & consider themselves teens already. They really have no interest in the lab & want to go to "The Stack". I'm hoping there are a lot of young teens on our cruise & getting them into that program won't be a problem. Otherwise they will play lots of Bball & ping pong... They really need a "bridge" program for the tweeners on the ship 12- 14...

Hope this info helps...

Barb~ I think I posted this before, but DVC is very slow getting docs out. Our docs came 10 days before on our last 2 cruises, which made me a bit nuts... I was really surprised when we got ours so early this time around.

Don't take the delay as being a bad "omen". It's really very normal for them based on my experience.

My DS, 12 - who will be turning 13 three days off the ship - is positive that he wants to go to the lab...not "The stack"....and that's fine by me, as he's definitely more 12 than 13. If there's computer and video games there...that is probably where he'll end up, although he's also looking forward to some arcade, movies, etc. as well.

It would be great if they had a 12-14 group...He'd be happiest there. Right now he feels kind of inbetween - but safer with the younger group. I think there's been some difficult moments adjusting to the older kids in school.

As this is our first cruise, we are going to play it completely by ear. He may end up hating the lab, and hang out with us - or he may end up loving the lab - or he may end up deciding he fits in more with the 13 yos...or I may tell him he has to stay with us more coz we aren't seeing enough of him! :)

mkpb
10-16-2003, 04:01 PM
We have a DS 11. Our plan is to let him go to the lab the first day or two. Even if he hates it (not likely) he will have a chance to meet some other guys his age that he can hang out with. I don't want him running around the ship alone, but if he is with 2-3 others, I'll feel better about it.

Still no docs here. :(

tesabat,

They used to have an hour or so every day where the 10-12 group would go to common grounds. They had Playstation games there as well as music and videos. I don't know if they will now have a chance to go to the new teen club or what the new club will have to offer with the modifications made during dry dock. If they do get to go there it may give your son a chance to see what place he likes best.

Happy Anniversary!!

Just sent out another update.

Pizza and the appropriate beverage is best enjoyed with as many friends as possible. The more the merrier at the Radisson. I'll be the short pudgy one (failed miserably at my feeble diet attempt and have thrown in the towel) pool side with a MGD in his hand, an obnoxious Hawian print polyester shirt , and either Mickey ears or a white floopy hat ; or yeah, and 4 extemely excited kids splashing about.

Going to send out a list with all the birthdays , anniversaries, and other special occasions next week. Got a bunch. If you haven't sent me your info yet now is the time (dwbarc@aol.com)

Started making stuff transfer trips to the new house. Did you know that you can fit 27 packed boxes in the back of a minnvan, plus 3 skateboards, 1 large stuffed animal bear, a dvd player, and 3 rolls of toilet paper? Only 243 more trips to go.

Hey guys, I know I mention this before and I got no response so I didn't pursue it But I was reading the Live From the 10/11 Cruise and they just did the Key West Scavenger Hunt and were raving about it. They had over 50 people participate and even had T-shirts made for the event with the words Key West ScavengEAR hunt. It really peak my interest so I called to get the details. We miss the general public hunt on Sunday (its at noon) but they plan private hunts as well (that is what the group from 10/11 did). They will customize the hunt to our wishes i.e. less walking, more kid friendly and start time. Figuring they just made one for the 10/11 DISers they probably have a great idea of what would work for us. (Plus its a great chance to wear those T-shirts again.) Figure we could do the hunt and be done with plenty of time for the sunset. Below is the info they sent me. The cost would be $20 per person and kids 10 and under are free, but we need at least 10 paying participates.

Thank you for your interest in The "Award Winning" Southernmost Scavenger Hunt, recently voted one of the TOP TEN things to do in Key West!

The Classic hunt is a daytime adventure around the major sights, landmarks, and famous locations of Key West. The hunt begins at 12 noon and lasts three hours.
During the Scavenger Hunt, points will be earned for each correctly solved clue at each location and at the final exciting awards ceremony, prizes will be awarded to the top teams.*

Sites?
Southermost Point, Hemmingways House, Shipwreck, Cigar Place, Shrimp Dock and off the wall places you might not normally have known about. The normal Key West sites plus some interesting wacky ones, too. Learn about interesting facts and trivia of these landmarks and sites.

*Hunting for objects?
In addition to searching for the sites and answering the clues (all for points are counted at the end for prizes), there is an object named "PINKY". He is their mascot and if you find him, he is worth an extra 50 points. People in Key West know of Pinky the Flamingo. He's famous. As our award winning scavenger hunt is, too.

With the hunt you will also receive our exclusive Southernmost Scavenger Hunt map featuring 2 for 1-drink coupons and discounts that can be used at participating bars at any time during your Key West trip (A value of over $60).

* If you have a group of at least 10 people we can also set up a private and customized version of this hunt. This is perfect for Wedding groups, Bachelor/Bachelorette parties, friends, and Corporate groups. Please call us at 305-292-9994 for more details and additional customizable pricing details. With this option, you may also choose any day, time, and location to best suit your needs.

My sister and her family (DH, DD8, DD6) are in along with my family (DH, DD9, DD5). That makes 4 paying participates we would need 6 more to get to the minimum players needed. If interested please email me at:

Hi Lisa,
Count the Barczak's in on the scavanger hunt. Me, DW, MIL DD (13), (DS10). Gonna try and leave the 2 little ones on the boat. If we can't they'll be with us also (DS 5 & 4). Thats 4 more paying folks. Only need 2 more.

Still have some T-shirts left in both adult and kids sizes. Lots of kids sizes still available. If you email me your address I'll get them in the mail asap. Mailed out over 20 of em this morning. Very low on the lime green adult sizes. If you want em let me know soon so if I have to re-order I will have time.

Made 3 more trips to the new house so far today. Keep taking stuff out but the old house still looks full. Ugh!!

LOL - only EVERYTHING still! When I used to vacation less often I would be packed far in advance - that was part of looking forward to the trip. Now though, I'm pretty much last minute, and hate the chore that packing has become. I expect to be figuring out what to wear and then packing it Sat/Sun before the cruise. Since I leave work at noon Tuesday 11/4 for WDW, I really need to get it done that weekend.

"All Packed" makes me SICK!!!! We only have a small pile of supplies I picked up at Wal-Mart last week. I'm hoping to make a bigger pile this weekend (only 2 left!). One of the suit cases I'm taking is in London right now.

Have a great day, guys!

So sorry Barb...I sent the wrong link for my email address. If anyone is wanting to join us for the DIS Scavenger Hunt in Key West please email me at: sandlabel@cs.com

I havn't even thought about packing yet....Broke the news to the children's teachers about missing 6 days of school. I was very surprised that my daughter's 3rd grade teacher was much more understanding than my other daughter's Kindergarten teacher! The good news is they are not sending any homework with them...we get to complete all the missed work when we return!!

Haven't even started packing - though I have "gathered" a few things. Hoping to hit the stores this weekend for items we need and start putting some things near the suitcases. I usually don't pack them until a couple nights before as I HATE ironing - even more so on vacation!

Lisa,

We travel to Disney the same time in November every year because Ben(DS11) has at least 2-3 days off during that time.
This year he is in 6th grade Jr. High in our district and for the first time he also will get to make up his homework when he returns. This is actually a new written policy in our school district. I have been told that it is an attempt to keep parents from taking their kids out of class but I think it makes it easier. It certainly varies from teacher to teacher as to how they react when a child will miss school but both of the last two years he has been loaded up with homework to the point where a medium size suitcase had to be added to our already to much luggage just to carry homework. We made sure it was all finished before we returned and when Ben went back to school he was nearly 3 weeks ahead of the rest of the class. So here is hoping that the homework situation works out well for everyone. :bounce:

We are just about packed. Need to get some more hangers for the hanging clothes and then just have to pack the personal care bag. But then again I have been ready to go for about 2 months.

Hate to see what happens when we start having kids!!!!

We will also be a no on the scavenger hunt we are meeting friends that live in the keys for lunch.

Well we are about ready to go but....
We can't find our Birth Certificates! I have an extra one for DS and can drive an hour to get a copy of mine but DH is from NJ and we are in NC!!!! I will try to call NJ in the AM and get one sent fast.
Has anyone ever dealt with NJ about getting a Birth Cert. before?

We had those Birth Cert. last fall when we cruised and have searched high and low. We have even kept our old documents (heaven Knows why!) and they are not with these. Any NJ past experiences would be helpful!

I'm not from NJ but had to get our Texas birth certificates in a hurry for our Florida drivers license.

Here's the website for NJ birth certificates:
http://www.state.nj.us/health/vital/vital.htm
This address seems to have a 5-8 business day before receiving.

I found this one that cost more but gets it to you in 2-3 days.
http://www.vitalchek.com/provider_overview.asp?provider_id=74877

I faxed our forms with a copy of my credit card and a copy of our ID (which was a TX drivers license) to viatl statistics in Texas and got the certificates in 2 days.

Hello, Everyone:

Well, I've fallen off the "Board" for the last few weeks. Nothing major, but just a lot of little things (kids' school projects, soccer games, following the rise and fall of the Chicago Cubs, a much-overdue visit from the Ohio in-laws, a major overhaul of our 5-yr old DD's bedroom, Halloween preparation, weekend pharmacy work, DH suddenly doing a lot of out-of-town business travel, etc) Anyway, the stress level has hit a high...but the time until our vacation of a lifetime is sure going quickly!! At the 30-day mark, my 3 dd's and I (actually, our 5 yr old, Marissa, did much of the work) made a countdown chain. We used construction paper (disney Cruise colors) and made 30 links. We numbered them, and added lots of Disney decorations. Our 3 kids take turns cutting the chain every morning...I can't believe we are at 14 days!!! Our packing is far from done, but we have some things put aside (I've been so busy rearranging bedroom closets that I've had to hold-off packing cruise clothes!!) I envy those of who who are so organized and are already packed - but, somehow, we'll pull it together in the next 14 days!! It's so hard to believe that we've had 15 months of waiting - and now there is only 2 weeks left to go!! Can't wait to meet all of you!

Dave - any lime green adult size shirts left? We still haven't received the last newsletter from you, but we did get the other messages about the shirts. Hope all is going well with your new home!

Take care everyone! Make a pot of homemade chicken soup, drink lots of O.J., and take your vitamins - we all want to be in great health for this cruise!! Janine :yo-yo:

OK, I've really settled down to decide what to pack and I have a couple of questions. Where we live, it's already cold, and I'm having trouble thinking that we won't need long pants and long sleeves.

1. If I pack all summer clothes will we REALLY be OK?

2. Will summer PJ's be OK in the stateroom?

3. Do we need jackets of any kind?

In two weeks, we will be getting ready to board the boat!!!!!!!!

MK

:sunny: Yes, mkpb you can pack summer clothes and really be ok! Summer pj's in stateroom will be fine (you will have control of the thermostat) and you won't need jackets on the ship. Today, weather channel online is listing temps at 82 - 86 in Key West and Cozumel with humidity in the 60% range so it feels like 95! That is a tad warmer than usual as the range should be 72-82'ish but surely not chilly! It is better than the 120ish heat and humidity we experienced in Key West last July! Looking forward to this more tolerable tourist weather as we saw our first snowflakes on Thursday in New Jersey!

David...we received our (blue) t shirts and documents on the same day. What a surprise to arrive home from work and find your large box and the little doc box nestled together on the porch! What an adrenaline rush... and the mickey head on the front of the shirt is terrific! Thanks for your work on them and providing an option to the lime green...for my conservative DH, DS and "girlfriend."

HELP...regarding DISmeet at 4:30pm...location is a bit generic ...exactly where on deck 10 overlooking deck 9 do we plan to meet? Port or starboard side? Forward just outside the spa, overlooking adult pool, aft- just outside Palo's or midship overlooking the family pool ? Sure, 150 DISers wearing lime green mickey head nametags shouldn't be hard to spot but it is a large deck 10!
I am dusting off my black headband with two mickey heads on bobble wires to help serve as locater antennas...(yes, David, even school administrators can be silly) and if anyone needs some extra cash to pay off those bar bills there are 1196 highschoolers who would pay dearly for a picture of me wearing the bobble mickeys...oops...but I can't tell you where!

OK Bev...will this help?
I just pulled out my map of the ship from last summer's Western Cruise and it looks like deck 10 midship overlooking Goofy's family pool between the two red stacks would work well. Can't miss the stacks! Midship elevators and steps will deposit us right in the forward stack.

We could start out meeting on the starboard side (the right as the ship moves forward) as everyone enjoys waving to those on shore as the ship passes out of the port. The last piece of land is a campground/beach and is always filled with well wishers as the campers gather their children on the shore to get a glimpse of the Magic as it leaves. It's a neat reminder of how lucky we are to be aboard! Be sure to pack some bubbles as they work fabulously with the wind from sailaway...and the kids (all ages) love them. It has also been sort of a DIStradition.

If everyone shows up we can encircle the entire overlook as the top deck is fully open there. The music for Sailaway party generates from the stage below so we won't miss a thing. Outlook Bar is also nearby just on the forward side of the front stack incase anyone needs a refill on sailaway sips!

Of course, Bev's idea of the Promenade Lounge incase of rain is the perfect plan B.

Dec 6 will be the first Magic cruise with Golden Mickey's. I saw it on the Wonder last month, and was very impressed - it was better than I expected it to be. Guess everyone will have to cruise again to see it next time. I liked it better than Disney Dreams (which is too goody-goody for me).

This is David from the state of total confusion. We made the move this past weekend and God only knows where things are. Been using Alison's deorderant for almost a week now. Starting to get use to that powdery scent.

This is the last weekend before the cruise. Last chance to get to Walmart and pickup lanyards, kids goggles, a tropical/mexicali shirt, pilow cases, sunscreen etc. Make your list and hit the aisles.

I will be sending out an update late tonight with lots of info.

We still need two more for the Scavenger Hunt in Key West!! There were a few people intrested but I need 10 paying people (ages 11 and up...10 and under are FREE) before I can make the reservations.

This should be a great way to see the sites in Key West! A common question/concern was the speed of the scavenger hunt. Each family is their own team and you decide how fast or how slow you complete the course. I have smaller children and we are not going to run around like the "amazing race" This is our first visit to Key West and we want to take in the sites like any tourist.

The cost is only $20 for adults, children 10 and under are free. We planned on starting at 1:30 and it lasts approx. 3 hours, so there will be plenty of time for the festivities at sunset. Anyone who wants join in the fun please email me by Sunday night so reservations can be made Monday. Thanks,

I sent a e-mail or pm to PrincessHaley'sMom, but, just in case, I thought I'd post here. I have a few of those baby swim-diapers in size small. Let me know if anyone is interested in them. I think Princess Haley'sMom has the youngest one at 4-months old!
I had to buy large swim-diapers for my 14-month old--she's a real chunk at over 27 pounds.
I've got so much to do and looks like I will be doing the last-minute scramble as usual, HA!
Better get back to straightening out the suitcases...
see you on Saturday!:smooth:

Thanks so much Margaret. I'd love to have them - of course Princess Haley's very fat legs would have to fit into them. Let me know when and where and we'll be there!princess:

We are leaving after lunch!!! The kids are so wired. They are at school -- finally. I just have to put the last few things in our bags and go to Wal-Mart one last time.

Be safe!!!

the leaves that have fallen from the trees surrounding the house are red, orange, brown and gold. they mostly lay on the ground covering a rich green lawn. the bags are all packed and waiting near the door. over 300 days of waiting have come down to a few hours. the sun shines brightly through the living roon window. what began as a single post to search for fellow cruisers have turned into 50 pages of posts and well over 100 people. a crisp, cool fall breeze is in the air. The day we have dreamed of is ready to dawn. For many of us, the memories of the next week will remain with us a lifetime. savor these days and share them with your loved ones. reflect upon your life and rest your body, mind , and soul. Praise be to our Lord and Savior, Christ Jesus. enjoy .

I just wanted to add a BIG thank you! We just completed our minigolf tournament that David organized. It was such a pleasure to host this event. The group was terrific and everyone had a great time!

We hope to see you all again soon...

We're back from the Magic and the whole cruise was great. The weather was fantastic, and what a fun time it was to meet DIS people on board. Thanks so much to David and Bev for their organization of everything from the shirts, name tags, wine tasting, Captain Marvin's and mini golf. It was great fun!!!

Thank you Andy for the pictures!!!

We came home to weather in the 30's

We're home, too. We actually got home around 4:00 yesterday, because we were offered an earlier flight when we checked in with the airline at the port. We were so glad we didn't have to wait for hours at the airport.

It was a great cruise! Are we going to start a new thread for our trip reports?

Peace,
MK
