Cruising with points, not all dates are listed

If there is a sailing date that I am interested in, but it isn't listed in the DVC book for that date of sailing, does that mean I can't use points? Some of the 7 day cruises aren't listed (at least the one I am looking at). Why is that?

Which cruise dates are you looking at. If you are trying to find one for Sept or early October, the Magic is being dry docked for routine maintenance.

We wondered about the 9/13/03 Seven Day (which is the Western Cruise). There is a cruise at that time scheduled on the official DCL website, but it isn't offered with points. Why is that? Do you think it was an oversight? Or do they not offer some of the cruises through points?

You know, funny thing. The DVC book lists a September 27th Western Cruise that isn't listed on the DCL official website. Do you suppose that they meant to list the September 13th cruise and got the dates mixed up?

I just got a response from Member Services and I CAN use points for the September 13th cruise (even though it isn't listed). I think it must have been a misprint.

I believe originally they blocked out 3 - 4 weeks because it wasn't a set schedule for the dry dock. The book was probably printed when it was tentatively scheduled for Sept 13 and 20 sailings. Now it is certain that dry dock will occur for the 2 weeks prior to the 10/11 western cruise.
