to get a phone record of every phone number (including local numbers called from a phone on a specific day)?

I would call your service provider and ask.

cell phone yes
home phone, probably not although some phones have a feature to "hold" the last 10 numbers dialed. I agree with checking with your service provider.
Long distance calls will appear on your bill, unless a long distance phone card was used.

Although it wouldn't help with past calls, Radio Shack used to make (I don't know if they still do) a box about the size of an answering machine that would print out each number called, the time, and duration of the call. It would work for all phones in the house, no matter where it was connected.

Yes HW you can. You will have to pay for it but it is possible to get. Just call the phone company.

when they want to investigate something they get a record of all your incoming and out coming calls, and how long they last.
but i dont know how a normal citizen can do it.

when I was receiving harassing calls from my ex, the phone company was able to trace and record all the incoming calls from him -- for a fee of $1 or so per call.
why do you need a record of calls from a specific phone on a specific day?

I bet honeywolf needs the break down because there are 5 other people using the phone and everyone wants to pay their own part of the bill. With the dates, phone numbers and time, they can figure out who owes what.
I apologize ahead of time if I'm wrong. :D

Saffron,
I doubt that is the reason, unless you get billed for local calls.
Long Distance is always itemized, so, figuring out the bill would be easy.
She wants local calls, hmmmmmmmmmmmm, checking up on someone, eh HW?

LOL....Yep, myself. I called someone that I rarely talk to whose number I didn't have written down (I just remembered it from what they said on my machine) and I forgot their number. I would like it back and was wondering if I could have a bill that had it listed so I could have the number again.

Radio Shack sells a printing caller id machine--it records the date, time, length etc of every call received and made from the phone (as long as the phone rings twice it will pick the number up even if they hang up.) UNLESS it is an unlisted number then it reads private. It does capture cell phone numbers.
