Pure Magic Wrapped Up In Pixie Dust - A January 2013 Trip Report

Hello, everyone, and welcome aboard my 2013 trip report! My name is Celeste and I'll be your skipper, guide, social director, and dance instructor for the next three months.
..............
We just got back from a great Disney vacation yesterday and I am ready to start my trip report! I have three other trip reports that are linked in my signature if anyone would like to check those out. And I know you're just dying to. Anyway, my family and I were in Disney World from January 8-January 14. It was out first time going in the winter and it was GREAT! It wasn't anywhere near as hot or crowded as it is in July and August. We stayed at Port Orleans Riverside, which is an absolutely beautiful resort! It was our first time staying at Riverside, but we stayed at French Quarter on our last trip. We had the regular dining plan (with one table service and one quick service meal each day) and we ate at some fantastic restaurants. So, as I said before it was a great trip and let's get on with the introductions!

Introductions:

http://imageshack.us/a/img26/7061/image4qjs.jpg

I'll start with myself (of course). My name is Celeste and I'm 19 years old. I'm a freshman in college so this was my first Christmas/Winter break in between semesters so naturally we went to Disney World!! I work at a grocery store as a florist and a cashier. So you will be seeing many pictures of flowers around Disney. I also love Disney movies as well as Disney World, obviously! Here are some of my favorite Disney-related things:

Favorite Movie: Beauty and the Beast & Toy Story
Favorite Character: Minnie, Belle, and Woody
Favorite Park: Magic Kingdom
Favorite Ride: Expedition Everest
Favorite Restaurant: Raglan Road and Toy Story Pizza Planet :)

http://imageshack.us/a/img35/9702/image6wj.jpg

This is my sister Tina. She's 21 years old and a senior in college. This is one of the few pictures from the trip that she's actually happy in, haha. :rolleyes1 Here are some of her favorite Disney things:

Favorite Movie: The Little Mermaid
Favorite Character: Ariel
Favorite Park: Magic Kingdom
Favorite Ride: Splash Mountain
Favorite Restaurant: Ohana

http://imageshack.us/a/img802/3042/image8iz.jpg

These are my parents. They love Disney just as much a I do! Here are some of their favorite Disney things.

My Mom's:

Favorite Movie: Lady and the Tramp
Favorite Character: Minnie
Favorite Park: Magic Kingdom
Favorite Ride: Soarin'
Favorite Restaurant: Ohana

My Dad's:

Favorite Movie: Pirates of the Caribbean
Favorite Character: Mickey
Favorite Park: Epcot
Favorite Ride: Big Thunder Mountain
Favorite Restaurant: Ohana and Raglan Road

We also had a few bonus travelers with us!

We're Going To Disney World!January 7 & January 8

So the day before we left I finished up all my packing, charged my camera, phone and iPod. I love getting all of my stuff together before the trip. It really makes it feel like the trip is coming. Sorry I don't have pictures of me packing or of our luggage, but I'm pretty sure it looks like just average luggage.
The night before we left (January 7) I went to work. And since I don't have too many pictures for this particular update, I will share with you my floral creations that I made that night.

My first topiary! Flower and Garden Festival here I come!
http://imageshack.us/a/img690/1922/img0768uf.jpg

A regular foam flower arrangement:
http://imageshack.us/a/img203/420/img0771e.jpg

Okay, moving along. I know you guys enjoyed that little interruption and you are now rushing out to your nearest florist to buy yourself an arrangement like that.
The next day was January 8. Our departure day! My mom had to work that day so we had a flight that was later in the day. This was the first time we ever flew into Disney at night. My aunt, MLinDisney, wasn't arriving in Disney until the next morning so she drove us to the airport!
We actually got through security really quickly, which was surprising because we flew in from JFK in New York and it's usually nuts when we go early in the morning.
Here is my dad and my sister looking oh so excited before boarding the plane.

http://imageshack.us/a/img5/5259/dscn2102h.jpg

Our flight was pretty uneventful. I listened to my Plane Playlist on my iPod which included some Disney songs along with some regular songs.
When we landed, we got our luggage very quickly and ran (well not really) over to the Magical Express. We are first time Magical Express users and we really enjoyed it! And would you believe that I didn't take any pictures of the whole Magical Express experience?! I did take some coming home though. But you've probably all at least seen the Magical Express before so just picture in your minds.
We were staying at Port Orleans Riverside so we were the second stop on our bus. The first stop was the Contemporary, which I enjoyed because we got to see some of Wishes from the bus!! We also got our very first glimpse of the castle and noticed that it was still lit for Christmas! I was so so excited when I saw that. I've always wanted to see the Disney Christmas decorations!
We made it to Riverside and got our luggage from under the bus and then proceeded to check-in.
Here is a blurry picture of my dad fiddling with his suitcase.

http://imageshack.us/a/img703/854/dscn2103pb.jpg

The check-in area at Riverside is so beautiful! I think that Riverside is one of the nicest moderates in WDW.

http://imageshack.us/a/img706/9374/dscn2105fa.jpg

My mom came back from the check-in desk very quickly, since we did online check-in. ("Not to be confused with booking your reservations online"...haha that line in the Magical Express video had me cracking up. People are so dumb though so they had to put it in for all of the confused people out there. ;) ) We got out room number, 8283, and it was in a mansion just as we had requested! We were in the Acadian building which was so pretty. All of the mansion buildings are great and pretty close to the food court, too!
And for some reason I have no pictures of when we first entered our room. Oh wait, I know the reason. I was so hungry my stomach was starting to eat itself.
Some of our bonus travelers (haha), Cathy and John, arrived the day before and were also staying in the Acadian building. We went over to their room to say hello and then walked over to Riverside Mill to get some dinner! I got a bacon cheeseburger with red velvet cake for dessert. My dad and my sister got meals from the make your own pasta station they have there. And my mom got some sort of chicken sandwich. The food was very good, but I do not have any pictures. :( I didn't take too many pictures tonight, but I promise I have many, many more in the next update and all of the other updates in this report!
After we ate we were all very tired and it was probably around 10 o'clock so we went back to the room to get ready for bed. After all, we had a Magic Kingdom rope drop to make in the morning!

Coming Up: Magic Kingdom!!!

Terrie..

Hey! I'm joining! Excited to hear about it!

Your floral arrangements are SO pretty! Oh man, one day I filled in at floral and there was nobody there to help me and it was the biggest fail of my life. The grocery store life... gotta love it.

Wow, POR has such a pretty lobby! I honestly had no idea. Both of the Port Orleans resorts are the moderates that I prefer (even though I've never stayed at or even set foot in ANY of them). Can't wait to hear about more!

when I come back with dozens of pictures of plants and flowers

that I wlll have no idea any of the names of. ;)

Red velvet cake - yum! We have hit up that pasta station before. Good stuff. :thumbsup2

Yes, POR has a very pretty lobby. I used to think when I get around to staying there that I would want Alligator Bayou, but then I saw more Mansion pictures and thought that was cool, too.
Which now means I have to stay there twice - once in each section!
Disney really does know how to work people like me.

"Sun's coming up, coming up down on Main Street." - Part OneJanuary 9

So, I last left off with us going to bed before a fun-filled day at the Magic Kingdom! Yay! It's finally our first park day!
This morning we got up very early and headed down to Riverside Mill at around 6:30. That was a mistake. Nothing actually opened until 7:00. So we filled up our mugs and waited for everything to open up. We met Cathy and John at Riverside Mill and discussed our plans for our day at Magic Kingdom! :goodvibes Finally when 7:00 rolled around we went up and got some breakfast. I got a create your own yogurt parfait with yogurt (of course), granola, strawberries, and brown sugar. It was delicious!! I didn't think it would be that good. Now, I don't really remember what everyone else got but I believe a bunch of us got yogurt parfaits and my dad got oatmeal.

Here's me and Tina at breakfast.

http://imageshack.us/a/img607/1669/img1566pe.jpg

Excited for our day at Magic Kingdom!!

So after we ate we headed back to our rooms and decided we would meet Cathy and John at the bus stop at 8:00 so we could be at Magic Kingdom for rope drop!
When we got to the bus stop I don't think we waited for a bus for too long. I don't really think we waited too long our whole trip for a bus. The POR buses were great!
We made it to Magic Kingdom without a hitch and it didn't appear to be too crowded at all! :yay: Also, this was the first time we were seeing the new ticket machines where you just wave your card in front of the Mickey head. It was very cool and much faster. There was hardly ever a line for those machines when meanwhile the lines were crazy for the regular tickets!
It was so much emptier than it usually is when we come so we took some time to take pictures in from of the train station. Would you believe we never took our picture in front of this before?!

Me in front of the train station & Magic Kingdom sign:

http://imageshack.us/a/img843/9919/img1567g.jpg

Family picture!

http://imageshack.us/a/img571/6341/img1568gt.jpg

After we took our pictures we went over to our usual waiting spot. We like to enter on the left because we usually go right over to Big Thunder Mountain at rope drop. Pretty soon the welcome song was playing and they were getting ready to open the park!

Notice the Christmas decorations are still up!!

http://imageshack.us/a/img507/8098/img1575s.jpg

Soon the song was over and the rope was dropped and we were on our way down Main Street. I am in love with the Christmas decorations! I didn't think they would still be up because before this trip I read that they usually take them down the Sunday after New Year's. But we later learned that this was the last day of the decorations and that they would take them down that night. We just made it!

Christmas Tree!

Closer view of the castle.

http://imageshack.us/a/img252/3223/img1578sy.jpg

After a few pictures we were on our way to Frontierland to ride Big Thunder Mountain!! Usually people are trying to trample us and we need to weave in and out of crowds, but today we seemed to be some of the only people in this section of the park!

http://imageshack.us/a/img831/2933/img1583zv.jpg

http://imageshack.us/a/img233/8897/img1584gy.jpg

I love January!

We soon arrived at Big Thunder Mountain ready to ride the wildest ride in the wilderness! We all got on line and there really weren't too many people on line for the ride. It's usually pretty empty in the summer, but not this empty!

http://imageshack.us/a/img209/1783/img15852.jpg

After we rode it once, we got back on line and rode again! After our second time, my parents decided that they wanted to ride a few more times while me, my sister, Cathy, and John headed over to Fantasyland to ride Peter Pan and some of the other rides over there before the wait times were too high.

Peter Pan was first!

http://imageshack.us/a/img152/3254/img1585ls.jpg

Then came one of my favorites, It's A Small World. Cathy and I love this ride, but John and Tina aren't huge fans, but we made them ride with us anyway.

It was only 9:45 when we got over to ride this one!

http://imageshack.us/a/img84/989/img1586p.jpg

I know you guys are all dying to see some of my amazing pictures from everyone's favorite ride, so I will share them with you!

http://imageshack.us/a/img9/1525/img1587a.jpg

http://imageshack.us/a/img580/2696/img1588ol.jpg

This is my favorite room in the ride!

http://imageshack.us/a/img15/911/img1589dx.jpg

When we got off of this ride, we decided to finish up the "old" Fantasyland rides and wait for my parents before we went to the "new" Fantasyland. So we rode Winnie the Pooh.

A quick picture of the castle along the way!!

http://imageshack.us/a/img543/7317/img1590dg.jpg

We found my parents on the way over there and they didn't want to ride and neither did Cathy so John, Tina, and I waited to ride! And also, after my parents rode Big Thunder Mountain a few more times, they got my sister and I fastpasses for Space Mountain!!

http://imageshack.us/a/img89/8864/img1591zvt.jpg

You can get a good view of the Beast's Castle from the queue of this ride!

http://imageshack.us/a/img829/15/img1592wz.jpg

Here's the rest of our party waiting for us to get off the ride:

http://imageshack.us/a/img28/1162/img1593um.jpg

I love this ride, it's one of my favorites in Fantasyland! I love how you bounce up and down.

Now it was time to head over to the New Fantasyland! I was so excited. This is what I was most looking forward to this trip besides the new Test Track! Beauty and the Beast is my favorite Disney movie and I was glad they themed a large portion of the New Fantasyland around it!

Here is some of the construction they are doing for the new Seven Dwarfs Mine Train ride!

http://imageshack.us/a/img835/4153/img1597u.jpg

Once this opens I think the New Fantasyland will look much better because it will flow more with the old Fantasyland.

Then we entered the new portion. It's really pretty and looks just like the town in Beauty and the Beast!

"Sun's coming up, coming up down on Main Street." - Part TwoJanuary 9

Since there's not really much to see in the New Fantasyland since it's mostly restaurants or food places, we headed right over to The Little Mermaid's Under Sea adventure!

The queue was very, very cool for this ride!

http://imageshack.us/a/img594/1221/img1599h.jpg

http://imageshack.us/a/img502/6749/img1600c.jpg

There was literally no wait for this ride. We walked right on. The wait time said 5 minutes, but that's probably because the queue is twenty miles long and you have to walk all the way through it. I was expecting the wait to be long for this ride because it was new. :woohoo:

A picture from the ride:

http://imageshack.us/a/img849/6149/img1606i.jpg

Here is my sister and my dad in the clam shell next to us:

http://imageshack.us/a/img577/5886/img1625ti.jpg

Overall the ride was okay. I liked how you ride in seashells/clam shells, but I feel that there should've have just been something more to the ride. My sister loved it, though, but halfway through the ride my mom said "When's the actual ride going to start?" Haha, that's how you know a ride isn't that good.

A picture after the ride...lol my dad is blinking!

http://imageshack.us/a/img401/8076/img1627g.jpg

The unloading/loading area. Hey look! It's Cathy and John unloading! :wave2:

http://imageshack.us/a/img541/3223/img1628j.jpg

And a picture outside of the ride.

http://imageshack.us/a/img209/1126/img1629xr.jpg

The theme of the queue and everything was really great, but the ride I thought was just average.

After that we looked around the New Fantasyland some more and then decided to head over to the Storybook Circus and Tomorrowland for some more Magic Kingdom fun!

Coming Up: More Magic Kingdom!

"It's not going to rain today. My lumbago isn't acting up." - Part OneJanuary 9

So I hope everyone got my Carousel of Progress reference in the title of this update, but if you didn't you're forgiven. You were probably asleep by that point in the show anyway...

When I last left off we were heading over to the Storybook Circus:

http://imageshack.us/a/img515/8618/dscn2195k.jpg

The Storybook Circus, I thought, was very nice. The new Dumbo looks great and all throughout our trip there was never really a long wait for Dumbo. I think the two Dumbo idea is really working out well!

We looked around the circus area and then my parents decided that they would ride Goofy's Barnstormer while my sister and I went over to Tomorrowland to use our Space Mountain fastpasses!

A picture of the Barnstormer on the way over to Tomorrowland!

http://imageshack.us/a/img833/5357/dscn2196n.jpg

We went over to Tomorrowland and were just in time to use our fastpasses. The wait was really fast because the standby time was only around 20 minutes! Last time we were there in the summer by 11 o'clock the wait was already up to an hour! I don't think we saw an hour wait for Space Mountain all trip.

We rode once with our fastpasses and then decided to wait for the rest of our party before we rode again or got anymore fastpasses.

When we got out of Space Mountain it was raining!! The chance of rain was only 10% that day. What in the world? haha, but it wasn't really raining that hard so we "ran" over to the nearest awning to wait for everyone to come from the Barnstormer.

It really wasn't too crowded at all today!!

http://imageshack.us/a/img267/2608/dscn2199f.jpg

Well, it turns out that after the Barnstormer everyone went on Buzz Lightyear's Space Ranger Spin so we went over there to wait for them.

http://imageshack.us/a/img827/1068/dscn2198ma.jpg

I took this picture of my sister while we were waiting. :rotfl:

http://imageshack.us/a/img837/5739/dscn2200b.jpg

Finally they came off of Buzz Lightyear and we were told that MLinDisney and KimPup had just arrived and were in Magic Kingdom. We soon found them and we decided that me, my sister, and John would all ride Space Mountain together!

The wait was still only around twenty minutes! And since we had 5 people we had our very own spaceship!

After we got back from space we decided it was time for lunch!! We separated from MLinDisney and KimPup and headed over to Columbia Harbor House for lunch!

It had stopped raining and was started to get sunny by this time!

http://imageshack.us/a/img194/6834/dscn2214c.jpg

We made it over to Columbia Harbor House and I then learned why the parks were so empty...everyone was at Columbia Harbor House!! The line was wrapped around like a queue for a ride. But the line did move rather quickly and we did find a table.

I got the half fish, half chicken meal.

http://imageshack.us/a/img543/9417/dscn2215lx.jpg

My mom got a salad.

http://imageshack.us/a/img802/2267/dscn2216c.jpg

And my sister got a lobster roll.

http://imageshack.us/a/img534/9798/dscn2217r.jpg

I'm not really sure what everyone else got because I only have pictures of those three meals.

Some pictures from our lunch:

http://imageshack.us/a/img10/5774/dscn2218c.jpg

http://imageshack.us/a/img707/9424/dscn2219w.jpg

Right after we ate we decided we were going to ride Haunted Mansion since it was right across the street from Columbia Harbor House. This is such a great ride! I didn't even attempt to take pictures this time because they never come out anyway.

After that, we headed over to Adventureland to ride some rides over there. Our first stop was Pirates of the Caribbean!

After the ride we were looking around the shop and I noticed this. An un-culled plant! Come on Disney, I didn't travel all this way to see a plant that is not culled! And for those of you who don't know what culling is because I didn't before I started working, it's when you pick off all of the dead parts of plants. If I left a plant looking like this at work, my supervisor would have a heart attack.

http://imageshack.us/a/img831/3271/dscn2220d.jpg

Anyway, then we went on to the Jungle Cruise!!

A picture of my sister and I waiting.

And a picture of our boat, Congo Connie!

http://imageshack.us/a/img7/2894/dscn2223hh.jpg

After our adventure in Adventureland (haha) it was starting to get a little warm so we decided that it was time for some ice cream! We originally went over to Aloha Isle but the line was way too long so we went over to Sleepy Hollow.

While we were waiting on line, my dad and John sat down at a table.

http://imageshack.us/a/img838/8494/dscn2224z.jpg

I'm glad we decided to go to Sleepy Hollow because they have more of a selection, I think. I got an Iced Coffee float! It was so good!

http://imageshack.us/a/img833/7202/dscn2225l.jpg

My sister got an ice cream cookie sandwich and my mom and Cathy got root beer floats, but I don't really remember what everyone else got, though.

After our ice cream break Cathy, John, and I went over to see the Country Bear Jamboree (one of my favorites!!) while my parents and my sister waited by Sleepy Hollow.

We sat in the very first row!!

http://imageshack.us/a/img829/8408/dscn2228n.jpg

http://imageshack.us/a/img546/5858/dscn2235v.jpg

I love this show! :lovestruc

When we exited, the parade was just about to begin! So we were stuck behind the ropes and had to watch. I never actually stopped to watch this parade because it's usually so hot out!

I went a little picture crazy (but who doesn't during a parade?!) so here you go! The afternoon parade in pictures!

After the parade, we met back up with my parent's and my sister who were still at Sleepy Hollow. We decided the my parent, my sister, and I would head over to the Main Street shops to look around while Cathy and John went over to PhilharMagic. We had an ADR at Ohana for 5:00 so we decided we would meet at the front of the park before then.

I don't know if I mentioned this before but I LOVE the Christmas decorations!!

http://imageshack.us/a/img13/2247/dscn2272e.jpg

http://imageshack.us/a/img62/8008/dscn2274a.jpg

This was the first time I saw the new couture ear hats so of course I had to take a picture!

After we did some shopping we decided to look around Main Street while we waited for Cathy & John!

More Christmas decorations!

These light posts were so cool with the Mickey heads on top of them.

http://imageshack.us/a/img811/3948/dscn2288d.jpg

Then we decided it was time to head over to Ohana! We took the monorail to the Polynesian.

http://imageshack.us/a/img405/8939/dscn2311e.jpg

The monorail was so crowded! There was a huge line for it we had to wait for the second monorail because we wouldn't fit on the first.

http://imageshack.us/a/img824/3718/dscn2313g.jpg

Finally we arrived at:

http://imageshack.us/a/img685/8605/dscn2323z.jpg

This was our first time eating here and we were so excited to try it!!

We didn't wait too long for a table and we got one right by the window!

http://imageshack.us/a/img254/9484/dscn2325y.jpg

The food started coming out right away! This bread was SO good!!

http://imageshack.us/a/img838/893/dscn2327q.jpg

I think most of us got Pomegranate Lemonade for a drink which was absolutely delicious!

More food!

http://imageshack.us/a/img521/3446/dscn2331v.jpg

I don't have any other pictures of the food, but it was so delicious! My favorite dish was actually the lo mein! That stuff was seriously the BEST lo mein I have ever had. I don't know what they put in it, but it is so so good!

My favorite of the meat skewers was the steak. The sauce on it was delicious!

Overall, this was a great meal! One of our favorites of the trip!!

On This Winter's NightJanuary 9
So this time my title is a Lady Antebellum song title, their song is 'On This Winter's Night" and it is the best Christmas song of this century. (Well, maybe not really, but I love them so I'm a bit biased.) So feel free to listen to it while you look at the Christmas decorated Magic Kingdom. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OVmrjRxmc4A
It will help set the mood...

When I last left off we were leaving Ohana and heading back to Magic Kingdom. I really wanted to see the Christmas lights on the castle. After all, it was on my bucket list along with learning to ballroom dance, going to Disneyland Tokyo, and becoming a cashier supervisor so I can tell everyone what to do and basically rule the store, but now we're getting off topic. :rolleyes1
We took the monorail from the Poly to Magic Kingdom and the monorail had to keep stopping for "traffic." Ummm, how many monorails are there that we would get stuck in traffic? Anyway, we got there is a (sort of) timely fashion and we were greeted by this!!

http://imageshack.us/a/img163/4813/dscn2333c.jpg

The Christmas decorations are even more amazing lit up! Especially the Christmas tree.

http://imageshack.us/a/img688/7807/dscn2336p.jpg

And now the moment we've all been waiting for...THE CASTLE!

http://imageshack.us/a/img90/8376/dscn2340d.jpg

My sister, Cathy, and I:

http://imageshack.us/a/img515/9476/dscn2341vy.jpg

Some more close ups of the castle:

http://imageshack.us/a/img843/403/dscn2345l.jpg

http://imageshack.us/a/img811/3853/dscn2346a.jpg

Isn't it great!?

After we (or I) got over the wonderful Christmas lights we walked around for a bit and then decided to ride the Haunted Mansion in the dark. :scared1:
It was literally walk-on and we walked right into the elevator. It was a great ride as always.

Then we walked around some more and for some reason my picture taking ended once the castle was no longer in view. But we then decided to catch a bus back to POR to get some sleep before our next park day!!

Overall, this was a great first park day with lots of amazing Christmas decorations!!

Coming Up: A morning at Animal Kingdom!

"You're only going to ride FIVE times?" - Part OneJanuary 10
Today is our second park day!! Today we spent the morning at Animal Kingdom! We had an ADR for brunch at Tusker House so we got there for rope drop so I could ride Expedition Everest several times before we ate! :thumbsup2
We didn't eat too much for breakfast since we would be eating again that morning. We hopped on a bus at around 8:00-ish.
When we arrived at Animal Kingdom we saw this...a Christmas tree!!!

http://imageshack.us/a/img705/5121/dscn2354w.jpg

Then once we got through bag check we saw more Christmas decorations on the Animal Kingdom sign!

http://imageshack.us/a/img202/9148/dscn2358a.jpg

http://imageshack.us/a/img600/3121/dscn2360r.jpg

They let us through the turnstiles at around 8:45 and then we went to wait at the ropes. We were in the second row behind the rope. :thumbsup2

http://imageshack.us/a/img713/1308/dscn2361c.jpg

We stood and waited next to this and I took multiple maps. You know, just in case I lose one.

http://imageshack.us/a/img46/1549/dscn2365c.jpg

Then 9:00 hit and the mad dash started towards Expedition Everest. People were pretty much on a mission until they got to the monkey. You know what that monkey is? A distraction. It gets people to stop and look at it so less people are dashing to Everest. Smooth Disney.
However, I see through their planted distractions and I told my sister she was NOT allowed to look at the monkey or anything else before we got on the ride. So, I strapped on her horse blinders and we were on our way...

Well, it turns out that my rules about the monkey payed off because we were on THE FIRST RIDE OF THE DAY! That's right. Who wants to see a monkey now?!

The first Expedition Everest ride of the trip is the best. So, we decided to go on a second time! yay!! We walked right on. :wizard:
Then we went on a third time. And a fourth time. And then a fifth time!
After the fifth time, my sister didn't want to ride anymore. Crazy right? We only rode five times. So I went on once more by myself. I went on the single rider line and the train was waiting for me! I rode with a cute little Australian kid. He was super excited to ride!

We had some time before breakfast so we decided to walk around Animal Kingdom. My parents were on the safari and the trails. And everyone else was...I don't remember. But I got these nice pictures of Everest!!

http://imageshack.us/a/img203/9883/dscn2368i.jpg

http://imageshack.us/a/img255/7641/dscn2369u.jpg

And a picture of this:

http://imageshack.us/a/img689/6002/dscn2372s.jpg

We went in some of the shops and saw this Christmas wreath.

http://imageshack.us/a/img803/3719/dscn2376d.jpg

We then decided to make our way over to Tusker House to wait for everyone else to get there.
We took these on the way:

http://imageshack.us/a/img705/3137/dscn2385dr.jpg

:lovestruc

http://imageshack.us/a/img824/6113/dscn2386t.jpg

So pretty!

http://imageshack.us/a/img13/3165/dscn2388rw.jpg

Cathy and John came over to Tusker House first and we then proceeded to wait for my parents and MLinDisney and KimPup to meet us there also.
My parents came and we heard about their morning in AK. Here are some pictures my mom took that morning because they actually saw animals unlike my sister and I.

I guess the took this first.

http://imageshack.us/a/img543/7534/img1748na.jpg

Then they decided to ride the safari. While they were waiting they saw a guy that looked like Ray Romano! So of course my mom took some creepy pictures of him!

http://imageshack.us/a/img818/2834/img1752dy.jpg

http://imageshack.us/a/img23/2023/img1757kf.jpg

LOL. Can't you just hear him making fun of Robert now. "You're opening up whole new worlds to them--like the world of feet that smell so bad, your nose had to grow as far away from them as possible!"
I love 'Everybody Loves Raymond' !

Anyway, they did see actual attractions that morning, too!

http://imageshack.us/a/img688/7069/img1761z.jpg

Apparently this Rhino was practically IN their safari car.

http://imageshack.us/a/img845/1826/img1773ez.jpg

Then they went on the two trails/treks.

http://imageshack.us/a/img825/4721/img1791o.jpg

http://imageshack.us/a/img707/5486/img1816bv.jpg

And then on their way to Tusker House they saw DiVine!

http://imageshack.us/a/img803/2888/img1827ij.jpg

Then they met up with us and shortly after MLinDisney and KimPup showed up! Now we could check in for our ADR!

They took us right away and we got to meet Donald before going into the restaurant!

Then we spotted Daisy at the next table! haha look at my Dad and Tina. :bitelip:

http://imageshack.us/a/img9/7219/img1835xo.jpg

She then came around right after Mickey!

http://imageshack.us/a/img803/9660/img1837di.jpg

LOL even my Dad got a picture with Daisy.

http://imageshack.us/a/img541/268/img1841t.jpg

http://imageshack.us/a/img12/5942/img1847op.jpg

http://imageshack.us/a/img43/9207/img1849b.jpg

Okay great. Now we saw all of the characters in less than ten minutes and now we could focus on getting our food!!

For some reason I didn't take any pictures of my plates of food, but I believe MLinDisney did so keep an eye out on her Dining Report for the pictures!
The food is SO good at Tusker House. They have so many different things there. It's not just a standard Disney breakfast buffet...it's much better!
MMMMMM. They even have Krispy Kreme doughnuts!!

After we basically ate the entire buffet, my parents and I were done at Animal Kingdom and we wanted to go over to Epcot to ride the new Test Track and to hang around there for a bit. Meanwhile Cathy, John, and my sister stayed at AK to see some of the shows there. I believe MLinDisney and KimPup stuck around AK also and did some other stuff.

On out way out of AK we stopped to look in Island Mercantile.

http://imageshack.us/a/img233/7884/img1850zu.jpg

And to get one last picture of the Christmas tree!

http://imageshack.us/a/img820/4051/img1851ox.jpg

Life is a Highway - Part OneJanuary 10
It's been awhile since I last updated, but good news...I'm back! :)

So I last left off when my parents and I were leaving Animal Kingdom and heading over to Epcot to check out the new Test Track!!

Sadly, this is the first picture of Epcot I took this trip. I don't really know why I didn't take one of Spaceship Earth or something...

http://imageshack.us/a/img715/1417/img1852pi.jpg

Test Track this way!

http://imageshack.us/a/img651/6372/img1855e.jpg

http://imageshack.us/a/img213/4913/img1858y.jpg

I really like the new look of Test Track, I think it looks more modern.
We went on the single rider line because we didn't really want to wait 90 minutes just so we could ride together. We could only wait 10 minutes and not sit together. I mean we were together 24 hours a day for 5 days... :rolleyes1
We didn't take the time to design our own cars so we just bypassed that and got on the line. The line moved quickly and soon we were boarding our vehicles!
I liked how the ride was darker, but it did feel less like a 'test track' and more like you were in a video game. Overall, I think I like the new one better. I know a lot of people miss the old one, but it did need an upgrade.
After we rode once, my dad and I rode again while my mom went into Mouse Gear and waited for us.
The second time we rode my dad and I were in the same car...um, I thought it was guaranteed that we wouldn't have to ride together! I want my money back...
But anyway it was actually a car full of single rider which was weird. But I think it was because the people on the fastpass line were lollygagging.
We met back up with my Mom after our ride and we sat by these flowers for a bit before we all went into Mouse Gear to look around.

http://imageshack.us/a/img827/1844/img1868nw.jpg

Then we went into Mouse Gear. I love these Christmas ornaments, but they were pretty expensive. I don't remember how much they were exactly, but they cost a lot.

http://imageshack.us/a/img254/8489/img1871ao.jpg

http://imageshack.us/a/img163/8715/img1872n.jpg

Then we exited and went on over to ride Spaceship Earth!
Oh look! The first picture I took of Spaceship Earth hours into our Epcot trip!

http://imageshack.us/a/img203/4183/img1873xv.jpg

I rode with my mom on this and my dad rode by himself.
Here are some fabulous pictures that I took on the ride that I'm sure Disney will want to buy from me and put up on their website...

http://imageshack.us/a/img267/8227/img1874p.jpg

http://imageshack.us/a/img838/4080/img1875fk.jpg

And not many people know this, but you do actually leave Earth on this ride. I have photographic evidence!

http://imageshack.us/a/img855/4017/img1876ns.jpg

Then it was time to create our future! When the picture finally came out, my head wasn't even in the picture! It was some object shaped like a pocketbook! My mom's came out though.

http://imageshack.us/a/img213/7995/img1877do.jpg

http://imageshack.us/a/img339/5784/img1878ym.jpg

http://imageshack.us/a/img43/1224/img1879fb.jpg

Then once we returned back to the year 2013 and to Earth we decided to head over to the World Showcase!

http://imageshack.us/a/img707/7088/img1880up.jpg

http://imageshack.us/a/img822/2425/img1889nv.jpg

The first thing we did was ride the Maelstrom!

http://imageshack.us/a/img138/2834/img1892h.jpg

http://imageshack.us/a/img210/1535/img1893vs.jpg

We looked around some of the countries and I believe that when we got to Germany I got a sea salt caramel! MMMMMM, it was so good! I didn't take a picture, but I had one later in the trip and I think i got a picture of it then.

We walked around the countries some more and then we went over to this little area that we have never been in before.

Life is a Highway - Part TwoJanuary 10
It really wasn't too crowded this afternoon!

http://imageshack.us/a/img402/7531/img1910v.jpg

This just looked so pretty!

http://imageshack.us/a/img267/8108/img1911wj.jpg

Then my sister texted us and told us that she and John were going to eat dinner in Mexico. We decided that were going to get dinner then also.
First we went to France and my parents got sandwiches, but I wanted to eat in China so we all went to China and I got got food there and my parents ate their sandwiches there.
I don't have any pictures, but I got Orange Chicken with white rice and a side of egg rolls. For dessert I had caramel ginger ice cream.
It was good. I love Chinese food!

After we ate we decided to go meet Tina and John in Mexico.
We took this along the way!

http://imageshack.us/a/img560/3964/img1912s.jpg

We found them quickly in the quick service eating area. After they finished eating, my mom, sister, and I went over to Magic Kingdom because we were going to meet Cathy there and go to the Wishes dessert party that night!
My dad and John were going to stay in Epcot for a little bit.

We took this on the way out:

http://imageshack.us/a/img690/702/img1913it.jpg

We headed over to the monorail land we didn't wait too long for one to come!

http://imageshack.us/a/img515/1925/img1914j.jpg

I can't believe they painted the Magic Kingdom sign! I loved it when it was pink! It still looks nice though.

http://imageshack.us/a/img841/3537/img1915r.jpg

Soon we arrived at Magic Kingdom!!

Test track was down for refurb when I was there last year so I'm pretty excited to check out the new test track in a couple of months! I cannot wait to read and see pics of the dessert party. My mother and daughter don't know it but I plan on surprising them with this on one of our MK days!

Then we went into Mouse Gear. I love these Christmas ornaments, but they were pretty expensive. I don't remember how much they were exactly, but they cost a lot.

http://imageshack.us/a/img254/8489/img1871ao.jpg

http://imageshack.us/a/img163/8715/img1872n.jpg

They are $22 each, but I think they were 3 for $50 when we were there in October. They are cute, but I wasn't willing to give that much.

Pretty flowers!

I agree! I am looking forward to seeing all kinds of colors at Flower and Garden Festival five weeks from Wednesday! :dance3:

Glad to hear you liked the new Test Track! I can't wait to ride it!

I mean, if Disney doesn't want to buy your Spaceship Earth pictures, I'm sure SOMEONE will. ;) HAHAH how weird that your head was replaced with a purse. How does that happen? :lmao:

Ahhh your Epcot pictures are so beautiful! That park is just perfect.

Great update!! I don't know why I like the old test track better. I think it was the design your own cars that turned me off. How did you bypass this? is the bypass choice only for single riders?
Seasalt caramel mmmmm. i had that last two trips! My fav. btw LOL on the pocketbook head!! :rotfl2: I wonder how that happened?:confused3

The new test track is great!
And the dessert party was so good! That update is coming soon!!

yeah, $22 is a lot for those! I do really like them, though!
I would love to go during the Flower and Garden Festival one year! Everything looks so pretty during it! :wizard:

I know, my Spaceship Earth pictures are fabulous! And I don't even know how that happened to my head... :rotfl:
and Thank you! Epcot is gorgeous!

I don't know if it was actually a choice to bypass it, but we just walked right by the computers. I've only been on the single rider line of the new one!
Yeah, idk how that happened because my actual face showed up on the screen when they took the picture, lol.

Wishes!January 10
When I last left off yesterday (that's right, updates two days in a row!) we were arriving at Magic Kingdom for the evening!
We wanted to look around the stores and some of the scenery in New Fantasyland before the dessert party so we went right up to the Main Street train station to take the train over to Fantasyland.

A picture from the station:

http://imageshack.us/a/img838/4529/dscn2455u.jpg

Here comes the train!!

http://imageshack.us/a/img203/9642/dscn2457g.jpg

I love the train! I could ride it all day!
I took these next two pictures while we were stopped in Frontierland, which was a long time because apparently people don't know how to get on and off a train.

http://imageshack.us/a/img46/1218/dscn2466t.jpg

http://imageshack.us/a/img822/7818/dscn2467vd.jpg

Finally, we were on our way and soon we were in Fantasyland!

http://imageshack.us/a/img10/5369/dscn2468nz.jpg

I wanted to look in the new Beauty and the Beast themed shop (that I didn't take any pictures of, haha) but it was very cool! I wanted to see if they had any cool pillows. They had one of those small rectangular ones and it said 'Be Our Guest' on it. I didn't get it, but I eventually got a similar one that said 'The happiest place on earth' on it.
And actually I think we headed over to Main Street to get that pillow now because I saw it yesterday and I wanted to buy it tonight! I got the last one they had, so I'm glad I got it when I did. I didn't see the pillow anywhere else for the the rest of our trip!

On our way to Main Street to look for the pillow, this was going on:

http://imageshack.us/a/img194/3664/dscn2469k.jpg

After the pillow was safely in our possession, we headed over to Tomorrowland to ride the Peoplemover! I love this ride, so relaxing!

http://imageshack.us/a/img341/4745/dscn2472r.jpg

This is another ride that I always insist on taking pictures on even though I know they never, ever come out nice.

http://imageshack.us/a/img843/87/dscn2473u.jpg

After our ride around Tomorrowland, we tried on these ears in Mickey's Star Traders!

http://imageshack.us/a/img209/8149/dscn2474j.jpg

Then we decided to head over near where the dessert party would be and we would wait for Cathy to meet up with us over there!

http://imageshack.us/a/img521/3897/dscn2478i.jpg

My sister got a hold of my mom's camera somehow and took these pictures of me. I was just peacefully taking pictures of my favorite foliage plant and she had to take pictures of me! She said I looked really enthusiastic while talking about the plant. Apparently foliage plants are some of the most exciting things ever. My job is brainwashing me, I think.

I don't know why I'm making that face.

http://imageshack.us/a/img839/9724/dscn2479l.jpg

Me explaining to her about the plant.

http://imageshack.us/a/img21/3964/dscn2480w.jpg

Shortly after that little educational experience, Cathy met up with us and it was almost time to go into the dessert party!!

We were seated right next to the dessert buffet! And we were right by the railing to see the castle! We had a fantastic table. :goodvibes

We got our desserts right away. This is my plate. My favorite was the tiramisu!

http://imageshack.us/a/img24/4973/dscn2482h.jpg

I got a few more plates after this to try more things, but I didn't get pictures of them. Everything was great, though!

Someone took this nice picture of all of us at the table.

http://imageshack.us/a/img822/2356/dscn2483r.jpg

We could see the electrical parade from our table!

http://imageshack.us/a/img191/5736/dscn2484h.jpg

After I ate my desserts I waited by the railing so I could get a good spot for when Wishes started.

The castle before Wishes:

http://imageshack.us/a/img843/1764/dscn2486x.jpg

Another shot of the parade!

http://imageshack.us/a/img341/517/dscn2487w.jpg

Then it was time for the show to start! Here are some of the pictures that I took!

I loved when they projected the different designs on the castle!

http://imageshack.us/a/img822/9438/dscn2488a.jpg

Then the fireworks began!

http://imageshack.us/a/img191/6057/dscn2494j.jpg

http://imageshack.us/a/img692/192/dscn2504aw.jpg

http://imageshack.us/a/img541/4159/dscn2508o.jpg

http://imageshack.us/a/img849/3044/dscn2522o.jpg

The grand finale!

http://imageshack.us/a/img547/6042/dscn2524z.jpg

This was the first time ever watching Wishes start to finish and we had such a great spot for it! The dessert party is a really great experience because you get some delicious desserts and then a great spot for the show!
We had a great time at the dessert party!

After the fireworks we headed out of Magic Kingdom and went back to the hotel to get some sleep before Hollywood Studios the next day!

Coming Up: A morning in Hollywood!

Didn't catch this last update until just now. I love that tree with pink flowers behind you near Tomorrowland Terrace. What kind of tree is that? Are you going to post a pic of the happiest place on earth pillow?
Love the Dessert Party! Wonderful view of the fireworks and you don't have to fight for a spot.
Great update!!:thumbsup2
