Probably anything that doesnt make a mess,or require a lot of prep work. Like Im sure some crackers would be ok, but maybe if you took out a jar of peanutbutter to spread on them, or started cutting up some cheese, that might be a bit much.
In a my former job, we would eat anything at our desks, then one day they decided to make up rules about that. Basically, eating wasnt allowed anymore, however if it was something you could have discreetly, they didnt mind. Just dont bring in the crock pot & the Foreman grill. ;)
BTW, best of luck in the new job. Be sure to let us know how it goes. :)

Well...since you're going to be at a desk, I would bring snacks that would work FOR me instead of against me ..like against me in my butt area.
Cubed cheese, cut of veggies or fruit, nuts, dried fruit...that kind of stuff.

No crock pot or Foreman grill????? Dang! Guess I better start looking in the help-wanted's again..
I suppose a small microwave or toaster-oven wouldn't be acceptable either, right??;)

I would take stuff like chewy granola bars. If you find out that you're not going to be too close to anyone else, crunchier stuff would probably be okay.
If there's a fridge to keep stuff in, I'd take some yogurt and string cheese. Carrot sticks are good, too, if you don't have to deal with noise issues.

We are always eating stuff at our desks where I work. I can't believe I've actually lost weight since I've been there.
Chocolate covered pretzels, nuts, CHOCOLATE, someone is always bringing in big platters of cheese, crackers, pepperoni and salami, there always seems to be a birthday cake lurking around. I usually keep some nuts in my desk but I was eating cool ranch doritos there yesterday. I have a gumball machine and a big basket full of candy for people who come in but in all honesty the employees eat more of it than anyone else.
Woohoooo! I wanna work where you work Michelle! :) :)

I keep a snack mix bag in my desk. I also sometimes bring in a box of blueberry muffins (Little Debbie brand). I also have an apple and orange in my desk now. And gum. No one bugs my stash though. The lady that's office is behind mine has lots of chocolate, so they go straight to talk to her.;) Sometimes I'll get a caramel out of her basket though.:)
