We got some snow overnight, but again the worst of it is south of me.

We're in the middle of an ice storm right now. No school, so therefore no work for me. :)

It only just started hitting the ground here, but the schools are closed. I think they're afraid they'll get them to school & not be able to get them home.

That happened a few years ago. Parents were livid! We already had ~1/2" of snow before the high school kids started getting picked up & they were calling for 6" - 12". They delayed so long deciding to send them home, that drivers couldn't even get to the garage. DD got home that day at 6:30 - the kids had been picking out spots to sleep thinking they were staying the night. They're a little more cautious now.

I'd go back to bed if I thought I could go back to sleep. :(

I'm on the south shore, I just heard the weather forecast for the next 24 hours and it said a mix of rain, freezing rain, and snow. YUCK!!!

Haven't heard anything about this yet...guess I should watch the news/weather more.

We live in SE MA - more near the RI border. (We are closer to Providence, RI than Boston)

Winter has started waaaaaaay too early this year!

Im glad we all have each other to get through this with.
Im not really sure what we are getting. When you look at the map where they show the dividing line between rain/ice, the line is directly on us, right where 93 & 128 meet. Ive heard that 128 is the dividing line, however I am literally next to 128(I can see it from my house) According to the weather that I just saw, now it looks like snow is there too. I can either be getting 3-5 inches of snow or just "slush".

Kids are home today because of freezing rain. Yuck. I do home health care and this is NOT fun weather to have to go out and see patients.

We had no school closings at all last year and have had three in the last five school days this month alone. I think it is going to be a bad weather winter.

I'm in the same boat as Camcolt - can see 128 from our back windows / I'm a few miles north of you Cam. We could get rain or the snow/ice mix. Commuting in the morning should be fun!!!

LOL, Kteacher! Ive pretty much decided tomorrow will be a "stationary bike" morning instead of jogging, however Im sort of hoping to wake up to just rain(yeah, dream on). The only good part about riding the bike is I start my day watching 1/2 hour of video from one of our Disney trips(makes the time go by quickly), plus I stay much warmer than going for a jog. ;)

Mouseteacher now it sounds like we could get about an inch of snow. The part Im not understnading is they really arent being too clear about if its just going to be that much snow or if there will be ice under it, or on top of it, or rain too, or what. I dont think they are really too sure about this one.

Camcolt ~
We know we will wake up to one of the following:
lots of snow or lots of rain or lots of ice or a combination. The weather men will know when they see it, too! Typical New England weather --- you never know! LOL I think the 128 line always stumps them.

We started out with a "dusting" predicted.

Now it's up to 8 inches overnight!

Then another big storm on Saturday night. We have already seen the coldest overnight temperature in 2 years (-12 the other night). Last year we never went below zero.

Yuk.
