Hi all. Thought I'd try and do a trip report while we're here in Disney at the greatest campground EVER!!

Friday October 19th
After a late night hockey game for the youngest dd and picking up the oldest dd from the Greyhound station and hubby having fire practice last night, we were still able to be out the door with the trailer hitched and driving out of beautiful Port Dover by 6:20 this morning. Drive has been fabulous. The fall colours in Pennsylvania and West Virginia were phenomenal. http://i160.photobucket.com/albums/t190/ontarioangel24/38D5A2AB-6403-42CA-9941-052BBC278375-8837-000008A5246E1141.jpg Only slight traffic delay outside Charlotte NC. Girls have been great considering we've been in the truck for over 16 hours. http://i160.photobucket.com/albums/t190/ontarioangel24/image.jpg We stopped at the Walmart at Walterboro SC for some sleep. http://i160.photobucket.com/albums/t190/ontarioangel24/image-2.jpgUp early tomorrow to finish the long drive. Night all.

Saturday October 20th
Teach me to check my iPhone for the time. It said 5:23am and hubby saw the light from the phone and said "wanna get on the road" so off we went. Arrived at the Florida Welcome Centre before 9am. Had our fresh oj and photo op. this time gangnam style. Lmao. http://i160.photobucket.com/albums/t190/ontarioangel24/8753575A-E383-4277-BBA8-23F31F107ADD-8894-000008BD556FCD03.jpg We stopped for breaky at Denny's or else we would have made it to our daytona campground before 11am. Accidentally stopped for gas at the same exit as the Harley Davidson shoppe. Normally not a problem but it was Bike Octoberfest. We're from Port Dover that is famous for its Friday the 13th bikers day so seeing these 100000 bikers is nothing we can't handle but trying to get gas with a travel trailer attached was crazy. Finally made it to the booked solid campground and decided to go for a swim in the ocean at Daytona Beach. High tide was in so we couldn't drive on the beach but we did have fun on the sun. http://i160.photobucket.com/albums/t190/ontarioangel24/BD9FEB0D-A6B3-4F7B-99E9-EE21CC6C3961-8837-000008A5314A4875.jpg Even turned our youngest dd into a sand mermaid. Went for dinner at Chilis and did some shopping before Disney tomorrow. The girls found some interesting clothes. Oh goodness! http://i160.photobucket.com/albums/t190/ontarioangel24/8D03F50C-59C9-491B-9B9D-7CF6CDE8E544-8872-000008A54FC51834.jpg

Your trip report is great. I love the pictures. The sign below the FL sign was funny. Is that your last name & how did you do that? We live just outside Daytona & we have a Harley & attend Biketoberfest. I always feel so bad for the truckers & people with campers/RVs who get off that exit for gas. It is almost impossible with all that traffic/bikes. But you should see March for Bikeweek it is 100 times worse.
Which campground did you stay @ in Daytona? Did you like the beach? We live in New Smyrna Beach just below Daytona & I like ours a little more. It is a bit more quieter & I think prettier.
Were is Port Dover? We have a cabin in Valdor & I personally believe Canada is one of the most beautiful countries around. I am originally from PA & I agree the fall colors are gorgeous there, you picked a wonderful time to come down.
Have a wonderful trip!! I am looking forward to hearing more of your report & seeing your pictures.

Sunday October 21st
Slept well considering all the bikers. Picked up a few last minute things and headed out on I-4 to the Fort. Traffic was good and we arrived about 1ish. Two people in front of us checking in and it still took over a half hour before we could get our turn. So much for online checkin. No dedicated lane for that today. Got our site and realized they'd bumped us from preferred to premium in the 500 loop. Not sure if that'll be to our advantage later on as our friends arrive next Saturday and we were hoping to be together. Have to wait and see. Picked up our golf cart from Kenny and oldest dd was in love with it cause it was "Saints" colours. And even happier cause the Saints won today. Lol. We decided to have dinner at Trails End and we all stuffed ourselves. http://i160.photobucket.com/albums/t190/ontarioangel24/42588F67-13EC-4B97-9819-F7C20F672744-9997-000009B302CAA1E8.jpg Went golfcart looping and dropped the girls off at the movie. Pochantas tonight. Hubby and I relaxed with a beverage while watching a tree obstructed view of Hallowishes.

Hey Kim, a friend has a professional photo studio and took one of our Facebook photos and edited it. Kinda funny.
We stayed at the KOA on S Nova Rd. very busy but fun.
Port Dover is on the north shore of Lake Erie directly across from Erie, PA. Lovely town of less than 5000 that grows to over 160 000 on the last Friday the 13th motorcycle rally. It's crazy.

Freak,

Your picture are funny. :rotfl:

When you checked in, did you get a list of the Halloween activities? Maybe for the 29th or 30th or 31st? I know the golf cart parade is the 31st at 6 pm but if you have/get the info for the activities maybe you could share it with us? I'm going to ask other posters there too so maybe if one of you get the time you could share it with us when it becomes available?

Thanks. Those of us stuck at home are living vicariously thru your trip reports. ;)

Got up and headed straight away to Hollywood Studios. Enjoyed some rides and shows before heading back for a quick swim before dinner. http://i160.photobucket.com/albums/t190/ontarioangel24/BE04C32F-7B10-4207-8BDF-964FFFF02AE9-233-0000009CE35B6608.jpg
Friends of ours highly recommended Raglan Road so we decided to give it a try. http://i160.photobucket.com/albums/t190/ontarioangel24/D80C5D69-14A1-4D7E-9B4B-494ED42EA8B4-772-000000F14898909E.jpg My youngest dd is a highland dancer so she was super excited to watch Irish dancing. http://i160.photobucket.com/albums/t190/ontarioangel24/7D693FFE-B7DB-45C3-9F44-2AC162227D04-784-000000F6E5E9445F.jpg She was quick to pick up the similarities between the two and the differences. Had a great dinner. Hubby loved the beer flight. http://i160.photobucket.com/albums/t190/ontarioangel24/84A10FC1-0E3E-4212-9306-20B0F2C634AB-772-000000F152CA0936.jpg Go figure. Toured around Downtown for a bit before heading back to the trailer. Not ready to call it a day, we hopped on a 10pm boat to extra magic hours at Magic Kingdom. Stayed til 1am and had a blast. That is til our youngest woke at 3am to redecorate part of the trailer. Not sure if the food disagreed but she was fine after a shower and change of sheets. Thank goodness she doesn't get ill very often. Lol.

Hoping to sleep in after that, we were all awake by 8:30. Decorated the campsite for most of the morning. Upset as our pumpkin blowup had a splice in the wire. Darn. Oh well. We are now decorated and in the true Fort spirit of Halloween.
Took some time to chill by the pool, play some games, etc. afterwards hubby and I ran into Kissimmee as we needed a plastic plug for our hot water tank. Somehow hubby broke it off in the tank and we can't seem to get it out. Grrrrr.
Came back, BBQ'd dinner, did a load if laundry from yesterday's fiasco and golf cart looped while the girls watched the brand new Tink movie outside our trailer. http://i160.photobucket.com/albums/t190/ontarioangel24/896ACF4F-0B3A-4012-8ABD-8935D341E866-772-000000F164AA0DAA.jpg

Wednesday October 24th
Started the day off right with breakfast at 1900 Park Fare. It's our favourite buffet and its a bonus with characters. We purchased photopass plus this time and thought we would only receive digital copies at this breakfast. We were delightfully surprised that we received both the digital and the prints!!! Yay! Once we had all dug into our fave foods: strawberry soup for the oldest dd, Mickey waffles for the other dd, made to order omelette for the hubby and lobster eggs Benedict for me, we enjoyed our breakfast in peace. It wasn't til we were nearing the end of our meal that the characters started visiting. It was nice. We didn't feel rushed and it was one of the better character meals we've had. After greeting Pooh, Tigger, Mad Hatter, Alice and Mary Poppins we finished up and took a monorail ride. The girls decided to "Gangnam style" dance on the monorail. http://i160.photobucket.com/albums/t190/ontarioangel24/BB3177D8-864C-4F60-A18B-63DE83D44AD0-1295-00000165EAC7DC86.mp4 Good for a laugh. Afterwards decided to take the boat from Hollywood Studios to the Boardwalk. Spent some hot time in the sun there wandering. http://i160.photobucket.com/albums/t190/ontarioangel24/15620EA4-90E4-42C7-97C6-6BAD8F79A7C4-1295-00000165F562748D.jpg Purchased some desserts at the Boardwalk Bakery to take back to the trailer with us. Mmmmmm. Got back to the trailer around 3:30 and killed an hour before heading out for a surprise. My 40th bday was not too long ago and my boss surprised me with 2 tickets to Cirque du Soliel La Nouba. We kept it a secret from the girls and purchased 2 more tickets for all of us to go. Youngest dd was by far the most excited as she has wanted to go see Cirque back in Canada for well over a year. http://i160.photobucket.com/albums/t190/ontarioangel24/D79D22F5-EFFC-43EB-B7D7-B049F37C0BFD-1295-00000165F9DB3D16.jpg Tonight I shared my bday gift with the family and we loved EVERY minute of it. It was simply amazing. All of us raved about it afterwards!!! Got back to the trailer for a super late dinner of trusty ole hotdogs. Lol. Went out looping again before the girls crashed, Halloween decor is getting crazy. http://i160.photobucket.com/albums/t190/ontarioangel24/7BC66D8D-642F-4FBD-A1DA-21BEEC334632-1295-000001660A11A06B.jpg Hubby and I enjoyed a drink in peace before retiring for the night.

Thursday October 25th
After some confusion last night at Downtown Disney where we were quoted $98 per person fee on our tickets to upgrade to Waterpark and More, I sent the hubby to the outpost to clarify. He had an excellent time up there this morning. First he arranged Magical Express for the oldest dd as she has to fly out next Tuesday and get back to university. Then he added the WP & M to our tickets for only $24 per person. Yaaaaa. And then he arranged for our friends arriving Saturday to not only be upgraded to premium like we were but to be in the same loop, site right across from us. Bonus!!!! Productive morning for my hubby!!! Lol. We then made sure we were prepared at the trailer in case it rained (good call there lol) and then headed out to Animal Kingdom. http://i160.photobucket.com/albums/t190/ontarioangel24/6159CA6F-F8FD-4629-A3BA-ADE6F2BDEE7C-2117-000001DB2BCE3C47.jpg Started with Bugs Life (oldest dd jumped to the ceiling when the bugs left the theatre, which is hilarious since she knew it was coming), went and grabbed Fast Passes for Expedition Everest and went over to Dinoland to kill time. Girls rode Dinosaur and captured their ride photo with the pp+. We then went back to Everest and all 4 of us rode. Love that ride and the way it grabs your stomach!! Once again grabbed the uber hilarious ride photo and went off towards Africa. Rain started and we took cover til it lightened. Tried on some hats and such. Lol. http://i160.photobucket.com/albums/t190/ontarioangel24/56C01466-BEE3-4826-BE2F-0C3796B3B8E3-2117-000001DB35F5C304.jpg Girls went and grabbed Fast Passes for Kilimanjaro Safari while hubby and I took in a refreshment. Nothing like a beer and a margarita to cure all that ails you. Lol. http://i160.photobucket.com/albums/t190/ontarioangel24/EAE3FE6E-A9FB-479D-BDF3-C83A2F77C26B-2117-000001DB22F222C6.jpg Took in the Flights of Wonder for the first time ever. It was amazing and saw a bald eagle for the first time ever close up. It was huge! Walked over to the Safari and glad we had Fast Pass. It was one of the better safaris and we saw loads of animals. Walking back we caught a street party band and we enjoyed their music before the heavens opened up. It was almost 5 and we figured we might as well head back. Man did we get soaked!! Had a nice BBQ dinner, quick golf cart cruise before I came back to tackle my work emails. Booooo. Got them done, spoke to my coworker and am now relaxing with a drink while the girls watch Tangled at the campfire.

Friday October 26th
Started out with a traditional yummy camping breakfast before we headed to the Magic Kingdom. First stop: the town fire hall for my firefighter hubby. Not sure why all firemen have a fascination we going there, but they do. Lol. http://i160.photobucket.com/albums/t190/ontarioangel24/42CF7CC9-9114-483A-8C2F-97F6FCBEA1C3-6958-00000578EC285684.jpg After a train ride we saw that Splash Mountain was down but we grabbed fast passes in case it came back up, went over to ride Pirates of the Carribean and tour a bit. http://i160.photobucket.com/albums/t190/ontarioangel24/6FFE1EF0-BDE6-431F-9E3E-752B38429715-6958-00000578FEA45184.jpg Had a delicious lunch at Pecos Bill. We'd never ate here before and loved the toppings bar for the burgers!!! http://i160.photobucket.com/albums/t190/ontarioangel24/28FC8D4C-1EA8-4E77-93DA-6B1087CBB426-6958-00000578FA23E151.jpg Went back to ride Big Thunder Mountain and do the meet and greet with Jessie and Woody. Splash was open again yay. Or maybe not so yay. Myself and oldest dd had never been on before so we rode together. Had a blast. Even 'Gangnam styled' the attraction photo. And then.... The ride malfunctioned. We were stuck on the ride for about 25 mins before they got us all off and escorted us from the ride. http://i160.photobucket.com/albums/t190/ontarioangel24/62655018-1D57-48D4-946D-6A7DE5A00036-6958-0000057902131111.jpg I have to say it was a total first for us. Lol.
We decided since Hurricane Sandy was blowing pretty good to head back to the trailer to double check. That was halted as the girls needed to see the princesses at town square. Hubby and I sat on the rocking chairs and relaxed, people watching as it was MNSSHP and the people coming in had some phenomenal costumes. http://i160.photobucket.com/albums/t190/ontarioangel24/5369B68A-6D4C-4E83-977F-7B8018DFEB1B-6958-0000057904E923E0.jpg Watched the flag retreat and headed to the boats. To our amazement none of the boats were running. I assume from the crazy winds. Had to take a bus instead.
Got back to the trailer and pine needles were everywhere lol. Bit of sweeping, some BBQ'd sausage and beans and a glass of wine made for a relaxing dinner. Talked with our friends who should be arriving tomorrow morning but they decided to keep driving as the hurricane made things uncertain. We waited up til they arrived just after 1am. They enjoyed sleeping in the parking lot of the fort. Lol. Better than in the path of a hurricane.....

Had a morning of shuttling our friends from the parking lot to the showers, talking over coffee before getting them checked in. The site that they had originally locked in was given away and they were suppose to be in the 600 loop. Grrrrr. Got them relocated to the same loop as us thank goodness. Their golf cart arrived and we got things situated. Decided to go take in Typhoon Lagoon since today is its last day before refurb. Even though it was a tad cold, we had a blast!!! http://i160.photobucket.com/albums/t190/ontarioangel24/6B2F12C9-A0E3-4084-ADE1-E1C21B90E373-6958-0000057907E67637.jpg Closed it down and headed back for dry clothes, a quick bite for dinner before we headed to Epcot for a bit of food and wine while watching Illuminations. http://i160.photobucket.com/albums/t190/ontarioangel24/45911B55-B329-4447-BEFE-0B8A2DEF4D91-6958-000005790B1CB834.jpg http://i160.photobucket.com/albums/t190/ontarioangel24/926BA25E-3F9B-4241-8C86-1DD0EA741407-7398-000005B76A987E80.jpg Everyone was so tired from being up late the previous night, we headed back for a good nights sleep....

Super excited as the 8 of us went for 'Ohana. Took the boat over to MK and then monorailed to Poly. Our friends 8 yr old son was amazed. He loved the characters. http://i160.photobucket.com/albums/t190/ontarioangel24/5DBDDC8F-CBD1-48F1-9E2B-27FACC778498-6958-0000057914380AFE.jpg http://i160.photobucket.com/albums/t190/ontarioangel24/2C498EA3-59D6-498E-8C0A-52025696F4C6-6958-00000579154C19E6.jpg Meal was outstanding and loved our photopass plus group shot.
Did get a message from home and apparently Hurricane Sandy is going to hit home harder than it did here. Our oldest dd is suppose to fly out to Buffalo and then take a greyhound from there to Toronto to Sudbury on Tuesday. Word has it the storm has the potential to close that area. We are unsure at this time what to do with her. Guess we'll have to wait and see.
After breaky we headed to MK and did some rides. Stood in line and waited to meet Merida. My own lil Scottish princess was over the moon to meet her. Fun experience. Next up the fairies!!! Met with Tink and Periwinkle ( her Winter twin sister in case you haven't seen the newest movie lol) and them met back up with our friends to go on Jungle Cruise, Tiki Room, Pirates of Carribean. Laughed ourselves silly watching the camel at the Aladdin ride spit on people. No one knew where it was coming from. Lol. MK was having a MNNSHP so we caught a boat at our closing. Beautiful sunset silhouettes. http://i160.photobucket.com/albums/t190/ontarioangel24/6EAB04F6-A70D-4D07-AFFF-D95412CD6F79-6958-0000057B910B4645.jpg Had a quick bite to eat.
