Okay, so this is KINDA Fort related.... :upsidedow
I've always enjoyed the string of Mickey head lights I bought at the MK Christmas Shoppe years ago. We pop-up (and even travel trailer) campers like to put different lights on our camper awnings to suit the location/mood. I even included a picture of my lights in my most recent trip report from this past March 2012 in site 1521:

These lights are lovingly referred to in some quarters as "tacky lights" :scratchin .
I recently received an email from the Disney Store Online with these Mickey lights for sale ("genuine Park authentic"). Anyone going for Christmas might want to pick up a set. I'm going to get a second set. Note the length is 11 feet so you will probably need a short extension cord to reach a plug/power source.

Does anyone need some for the Fort in two months? :santa:

PS - I also have my eye on the Jack Skellington ornament http://www.disneystore.com/jack-skellington-ornament/mp/1274530/1000344/
PPS - Oooh, ooh, here was another picture.

Thanks might have to get some of these for home. Are they real bulbs or LED?

They are regular bulbs.
I have an extension cord on my second set. They don't plug into each other.
I just Love them!! I got them years ago at World of Disney in NYC.
Glad to see they have them available at Disney store.
Yes Bama Ed, Trailer Trash!

I have always liked those lights but never bought them. How many strings of lights are on your camper? Just 1 set or did you have to buy more.

Kim,
I only put up one set at a time (my awning is 10 feet long on my popup).
I have a string of these Mickey heads for my visits to the Fort.
I have a string of plastic palm trees for my visits to the beach.
I have a string of Alabama "A" for my camping during football season.
I have a string of brown footballs for when my Bama lights don't go up.
I have a string of red kerosene lanterns for my general camping needs.
I have a string of big clear C7 bulbs when I need lights bright enough to read by at night.
I (used to) have a string of clear icicle lights but I didn't like bumping my head on them.
So as you would probably agree, I don't have enough. :lmao:

PS - most of these are simply the plastic covers over your basic indoor/outdoor 10-12' light set. When bulbs burn out or a string goes bad, I just get another cheap string of clear lights and transfer the plastic covers....

Thank you all for your reply.
BamaEd: I'm glad to see I am not the only one who has a bunch of different lights. Some of my friends laugh @ me every time we go camping because I have/use different lights depending on where we are camping. I just never bought the Mickey ones, although I looked @ them hundreds of times.
That is a good idea on replacing the bulbs/strings. I never thought of doing that. Thanks for the tip.

Glad to see these again. Bought a set for my awning in 2005 or 2006 and got a larger popup a couple of years ago. I needed another set. I finally found a set on eBay. These should sell well. I don't know why there aren't any Disney character awning lights. You'd think there would be a market for them.

I have at least 1 set of each of the holiday themed Mickey Head lights that Disney has offered over the years.
I not only use them in my MH, but there is always an appropriate set around my kitchen window at home.

. . . I have a string of Alabama "A" for my camping during football season . . .
1) Your other lights are definitely fun, cute and not trash.
2) As an ex-Big-10 football player, I do question your choice of "A" lights.

I sat down yesterday afternoon while watching the football games (mostly SEC - Vandy/Aub, LSU/aTm, FL/SC) before the Bama/TN game came on and went through my strings and replaced bulbs as needed from a "donor" string. So all are in good operating order.
I have a 2013 trip planned to the Fort so you can never prep too early. :)
