I will save $52.50 just off my PAP's. Plus I am hoping to get a discount on the resort. Together this will more than covers the cost of joining the DC.

I have been trying to decide what to do. I plan on traveling to WDW on a regular basis. My boyfriend and I are discussing getting married there.:pinkbounc

What a great discussion! There are many on the side of the DC, and some that oppose it. In order to hear more opinions, I'm redirecting all responses over to the Budget Board. Thanks, and have a great trip!

While I liked the MKC alot better, there are alot of good benefits with it.
You get the susbcription to the Disney Magazine, you can save on your park passes and the disney store. I don't like the changes they made to the reservation discounts though.
Speaking of the DC, I had recently found out that I should of been getting newsletters and coupons with it and I wasn't. I called them up and they fixed things. Today, I got in the mail, the March and April newsletters and coupons. One of the coupons was for a $5 rebate for 102, which I bought last month, but since I knew nothing about the rebate, didn't save the receipt. I called DC, who told me to call Buena Vista, who told me to call Gage Marketing...who sent me back to DC!!! I spoke to a very nice CM (supervisor there) who couldn't give me the $5, but who did say he would send me 2 lithographs! That made my day! Of course, the 20 min talk we had about all the things we like in WDW didn't hurt either!!:bounce:

We are a family of six, so just the $$ saved on our park hoppers makes the DC worth it. We just purchased membership in DVC, so I'm happy to say that I don't need to spend any more time looking for bargains as far as the resorts go, but I will continue to purchase our DC membership and get whatever discounts I can.

I was beginning to wonder if the DC card was worth it too...until today! I was able to save over $40 on a week long car rental...and went from a COMPACT car to a FULL SIZE car in the EMERALD AISLE! Talk about a DEAL! And since I bought the DC card through my Entertainment Book, it's already paid for itself and saved me a REAL $10! From now on...everything will be icing on the cake!:jester:

Just today with DC discounts, I saved $70 on a National rental car in Dec. Factor in savings on annual passes and 10% at the Disney Store, and it has paid for itself many times over. I would definitely get it! :D

Although I liked the MKC MUCH better the DC is good. It comes in handy every now and then.....but let me tell you.....as an AP holder...we are finding out that these are some of the best discounts around! Good Luck!

We just made ressies at CSR, and got a 20% discount using the DC. It saved us a little over $100 over the four nights. And we haven't bought our Park hoppers yet!

I think the card is worth it but I also have three grandchildren. I buy gifts for them at the disney store, Plus passes for everyone in the family, which is 8 passes. I've never been able to use it on a room we go the wrong time of the year to use the card.
Also the card has the Entertainment discount on it so you can get the Entertainment discounts.
We dont rent a car but if you do I quess that another way to save money.

Don't forget the Disney Store discount when you're deciding. We don't get to go to WDW (or any other Disney parks) very often. But I save more than double the cost of the card each year in the shopping I do at the Disney Stores - and I almost never buy anything there that isn't on sale to begin with!

I am thinking of joining the DC because DS and I will be going in August of 2002, the week after Christmas 2002, and Spring Break 2003. We will save on our APs (which we've never bought before).

Do they still give a Disney pin with the membership, or is that over? (I joined last Fall, so I got the pin. I am just curious.)
My club discount was long ago paid for. We took a January vacation and booked last year through WDTC. At that time, anyone who used the DC discount towards their package also rec'd $50 Disney Dollars for each room booked.
I paid $29.95, but rec'd $50. Not too shabby. ;) And I have been saving ever since.
I love the discount coupons I receive in the mail. And I love the magazine.
You may want to check out this Ebay item:

I have never purchased one this way, so cannot comment further. I personally would rather pay Disney and get the magazine and coupons also.

I should be receiving my membership information in a couple of weeks. I can't wait. I do shop at the Disney Store a great deal. I just can't get enough of Mickey:D
Plus I can't wait to plan my next trip to Disney.:pinkbounc
