View Full Version : Need Prayers update first post

I'm taking John to the dr. this afternoon to determine if he has diabetes. I had a freind that is a nurse come over to take his morning blood sugar and it was 158. If its a true reading it could mean that we caught it early, which is good. Anyway I'm asking for Prayers that the reading was wrong and this is not something we have to deal with. With aunts, uncles, Grandparents, and cousins that have it. I know what were up against.

Well at the doctors his blood sugar was 95. Good news so far but the doctor also said he could be just a matter of time since he has some of the symtoms. So my friend is coming on Wed. to take his blood sugar again and we will go from there.

I just hope I'm strong enoughto handle this.:(

Bec.. sorry to hear this.. pd and prayers on the way.. and extra from KimRaye too!..

May I ask if the 158 was a fasting glucose or after he had eaten?
Hopefully her glucometer was accurate, some readings can be a bit off. There seems to be a strong family hx of diabetes. I am glad that you are on the look out for symptoms. Good Luck and best wishes.

I'm glad to hear the second test had a more positive result Beccy. . . :)

Disabetes is a serious condition. . but generally if detected early it can be controlled by diet. I'll keep John in my prayers, and hang in there sweetie. . ((hugs)))
