Waitlisting on short nortice

Hi everyone. Does anyone have experience with waitlisting on short notice? DH and I have a ressie at VB for the week of May 20th. DH and I thought it would be nice to make the last night at one of the other DVC resorts on site. I called MS and they had nothing available for that night anywhere! I asked to be put on the waitlist for OKW, BWV, and VWL--I told them that I would take WHATEVER they could find--all we need is a studio. I am on the waitlist until May 16th and then I was told to call them everyday before we depart. Do you guys think we'll get that one night or is this TOO short notice? Has anyone ever done this before?! I hope it comes through-- I am still fairly new at this waitlisting stuff.

I called last week and was put on the waitlist for two nights in May, the 14th and 15th. They called me back two days later with a studio preferred view at Boardwalk. It was great news, my first stay at my DVC. Peggie

We were able to switch from BWV to VWL within 2 weeks of our visit for a studio, so don't give up hope

Oh great!!! I am glad to read your posts!! It gives me some hope!! I really wanted the chance to try one of the DVC resorts so I will keep my fingers crossed...thanks for responding guys! :D I love these boards!!

I was wait listed for one night in a 1 BR the week before Easter. It came through 2 hours after I went on the list (about 3 weeks before we were going to be there.)

Hope you are as lucky as us.

We were able to get an add on night only three days out.

Thanks to everyone for their input. I just called MS and they had a studio at OKW open so I took it but am still hoping for a studio at the BWV. We'll keep our fingers crossed. I sometimes feel bad calling them and bugging them so much--I wonder if they keep track of how often you call...LOL!!

:p They do keep track of when you call..trust me lol...they have a BOOK on times i've called to change, cancel, etc. I've mentioned to them that I get embarressed now. They are very nice about it and tell me not to worry that EVERYONE does it :smooth: I hope they AREN'T kidding lol ;)

Brittsmum1998: OH NO..are you serious?! Do they really keep track of when you call? I feel like an idiot!!! LOL!! :D They are gonna think I am such a colossal pain! But I guess they must be used to it then huh? Oh well...I suppose I shouldn't worry too much. I just hope they call with some good news about BWV. Keeping my fingers crossed and going off to shop for some lime green ribbon now...;)

LOL I always apologize when I call now. Some of them have even mentioned the "pages". :rolleyes: I just tell them in jest that its their fault for making DVC so much fun and so FLEXIBLE lol;)

Just to add to everyone's stories. We were waitlisted one time and they called us the morning we were leaving!!!
