Stayed onsite at Port Orleans last time (and only time) I was at WDW, but am considering HIFS next time (perhaps split with a few days at a Disney resort on-site).

HIFS sounds wonderful, we'll have a car this time, and I want to do some other things like SeaWorld as well as WDW.

DD will be 9 and DS will be 11. Would they enjoy HIFS, or are they too old for it?

How long a drive is it from HIFS to Universal/IOA? If I want to spend a couple of days doing Universal attractions, is it reasonable to commute from HIFS (by car) or should I stay closer to Universal? How's the traffic? Will probably be going in February, so the parks shouldn't be too crowded then.

Any opinions much appreciated!

Thanks!

I can't answer mloren's question. We won't be going until November. But I can tell you that HIFS is Holiday Inn Family Suites.

We went in Februrary with my DD-9 and niece-12 (and my ds-7) My dd and niece loved the place. The pool is great and they loved the mini golf, shuffle board and especially the karoke!

We spent one night there in February. My 12yos really enjoyed it. His older brother took the livingroom couch, so he had the bunk bed room to himself. He brought video games from home and played for an hour or two before falling asleep. In the morning, they both loved the breakfast buffet. Then we went to AK so we never got to try out the pool.

There were no complaints from either of my sons about the theming. They both enjoyed having their own space.

Read my response on the boards at Holiday Inn Family Suites-Thumbs UP (http://64.225.125.24/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=26363) My kids love it and would give their eyeteeth to go back.

How were the shuttles to the parks? I have 5 yr old twins and will be bringing their strollers.

We will be going in February and we currently have reservations at the ASMO. I really don't want to spend a lot of time waiting for shuttles (especially if the kids are tired). Also, do they send enough shuttles, for example, if one stays for the late night shows?

Any help would be appreciated.

WE ALL LOVED IT! My kids are 13,12 and 10. They liked the pool and the mini golf that is free! The game room is small but if you like that sort of thing the games are 50 cents or a dollar. The rooms were great and they even have a cd player in the kids' room. My kids all enjoyed the freedom of the hotle room space. The pool was fanced and very well lit even at night! Nothing like swimming until 12:00. And the hot tubs are great. They tend to keep one HOT and one warm so kids liked that too! WE will be going there every time we go!:p I want to go back and we just got home!:)
