Is it possible to book a cruise using cash now and then at the 11 month mark change it to points?

We are looking to book a Haloween cruise in 2002 and want a specific cabin (secret porthole) but I am afraid that they will all be booked if I wait until November.

Has anyone ever done this? Is it even possible?

You can do it, but you will not be guarenteed the same room. They are two different reservations. They will not be able to transfer the reservation.

That said. There is not harm in booking the room now and seeing if DCL will cancel the reservation at the same time DVC request yours. It might work, but don't get your hopes up.

I asked the same thing when I booked a cruise for Jan. 2002. Robin is correct and that is the same answer we got. We decided to just pay for the cruise because the pooints for the cruise were to high. :p
