We are first time cruisers doing the 5 night double dip and not overly worried about booking shore excursions in advance as we've decided that we don't have any "must do" activities. So, I'm wondering if CC has a watersports desk or something similar where you can rent the kayaks, snorkel equipment, floats, etc...or is it mandatory that everything be pre-booked on the ship? I understand things typically fill up in advance anyway, but I just wondered if it was even an option to get off, stroll around and then see what might be available to do?

We just did the double dip aug 5-10 and did not book anything in advance except for the stingray adventure. We rented floats the first day for $6 each. There were plenty. Dh and ds did the water tricycles. We checked into snorkeling but decided not to do it. Plenty of snorkel equipment. I think not booking in advance is fine. I was glad that we didn't HAVE to do anything. The first day we just floated in the water on our floats and played in the sand. There is plenty to do that doesn't have to be booked in advance. Ds and I really enjoyed the stingray adventure and I'm not sure you could do that without booking in advance. But again, there is plenty to do.

Not sure about kayaks, but there is definately tube/float/snorkel rentals that do not have to be reserved.

They also have bicycle rentals.

CC is the perfect place to not have a plan :3dglasses

Play it by ear and go with the flow especially since it is a double dip

Have fun and say hi to Casey for me :3dglasses

We did the double-dip in June and I agree that for things like bikes, floats, and snorkel equipment, you do not need to reserve in advance if you do not want to.

However, we knew that we wanted floats for the family and there was a two-day rental offered (in advance only) which was greatly discounted. I think it was $6/day if you rented from the kiosk, or you could reserve a 2-day rental in advance for $7.50 total. Since we were pretty sure we'd want the rentals both days, we booked ahead.

I am not sure about same-day availability of some of the excursions on CC (like the water tricycles or the jet skis). We did not attempt to do any of those things... but we didn't miss them either. There's lots to do on CC.

I highly recommend the snorkeling package (hidden mickey and all) and like someone said if you have a double dip there's a pre-order package that saves you money. We had a single stop on our 4 night Dream cruise and I did the bike, float snorkel it was great. :goodvibes

Not sure about double-dip sailings, but the things you should get a reservation for are things like the stingrays, jet-ski's, parasailing and glass bottom boating. Those things are very limited in the number of people that can partake per day.

As others have said, the snorkels, floats and bikes are very plentiful and you won't need reservations.
