Your DH says you're just going to go look at new cars and you drive home with one.

That's what we did tonight. I am happy now because our family of five has been driving in a Corolla for the past year. We now have a van - So we are no longer the "Clown Car" family:) :) :)

I got my first new car last year at age 37!!!

And yes I hate when DH pulls stuff like that. Last year he called up CRO to get a quote(thats seriously all I wanted), and he booked the trip! :eek: ;)

DH did that to me one Mother's Day. Only problem is I wasn't there. I didn't have the heart to tell him I hated minivans with a passion (mind you, I have two kids, not three, and don't see the need for a minivan. I also live in the city with no driveway!) I was so glad to trade that thing in this past June, but I never did tell him that his "gift" was a bust.

What kind of van did you get? I'm sure you will enjoy it! With 3 kids, it seems to be a necessity.

We ended up getting a GMC. It is not my choice, but it is a pretty color. Its a teal blue and has everything in it. I just don't like the way everything rolls around in a van, but I am definitely not complaining. It beats the Corolla any day. And now we can start planning a road trip - maybe WDW next year!!!

Last year the five of us drove from Dallas to Ft. Myers to Orlando in a Taurus (and we survived) so this is an improvement. We had a Caravan until about a year ago. It lasted 250,000 miles, our "new" Corolla which is a 93 has 110,000 miles and our old Corolla an 88 has 225,000 miles. We were definitely due for a new vehicle.
