UGH I tape most shows since they are not approperate for my girls to watch....... This board is great about saying spoiler in the title bar, so I know not to read it until I have seen that weeks show...... I also know it is safe for me to open the board and not have my show's bubble burst......

This other board (non dis) One gal posted in the title who won (or lost depending on your point of view) on the Bachlor....... ruined the show for me....... ya know..... all the suspense...... gone..... (I know stupid show, but still......)

SO I posted a very nice post asking that when people wanted to talk about a show, and they tell spoilers, to post spoiler in the title but no details in the title so those of use who havent seen it yet, are not bummed......

One chick (and not the gal who posted the ending) went off on me.... telling me that life happens in the now and I cant expect everyone to put their comments on hold until they are sure I have seen the show....... that is how life is.... get used to it...... and I have no right to dictate what they talk about and lecture them on the evils of posting what they want.....

Dont know why this has me so irked........

Told you it was a stupid vent.........

Would have irked me too...you didn't ask for anyone to "put their comments on hold" You just asked for the courteousness of a warning.

Stay off that board, stay on the DIS!!!!!!!!!!:)

Wow! I would be annoyed too. Sorry you got flamed when you were just trying to be helpful.

If you'd described it on this non-Dis board as clearly as you have in this post, obviously this person had poor reading comprehension skills.

I'd be irritated if I were you, too. I don't think that's an unreasonable request at all, and I've always thought that it was a common courtesy on all boards, not just these.

People aren't all that nice sometimes are they? I think your request was reasonable.

Not a stupid vent at all. Very similar things have happened here and it took many threads addressing this issue before people all seemed to "get" it. (Anyone remember the fights around the time of the Olympics? ) Now that everyone who has been around for awhile understands the purpose it's become the norm, and if someone accently slips it gets picked up on and corrected before it upsets too many people.

I am still pretty wary since I live on the West Coast so I don't even come on until after I've seen Survivor!
