Where in the World (WDW) is Tyler? Tyler (AKA Chip N Dale)? Tyler is a Disney bus driver who posts some very very helpful info here on the transportation board. You can read more about how this game got started and find a picture of Tyler at the Thread entitled "Just Have to Say ... re: ChipnDale Express" here under Transportation.

Use this thread to post Tyler sightings. Give dates, bus routes, etc. and please post pictures if you can! Remember, if you find him, go wild, pretend you won at Who Wants To Be A Millionaire; then watch people's faces try to figure out what we are doing and who in the world is Tyler.

Thursday, November 14th, MGM-Polynesian.....just after Fantasmic got out...

Waiting, waiting, waiting in line for the Polynesian buses to arrive. One pulls up....people start loading front and back doors....no way is my family of 5 getting on this bus....

Then in a puff of Disney magic smoke....or maybe it was diesel....another bus pulls up. The door opens...you can't see who was in the doorway...the light is so bright.....and like Elvis on a Vegas Stage down steps Tyler....course at that time I didn't know i was in the presence of greatness.


After getting my family and approximately 50 of our closest friends :rolleyes: settled, Tyler was on the way to MK resorts.....

Enroute, Tyler briefed the passengers on the safety procedures, played some trivia games, and made sure to tell us if we were unhappy with the ride, his name was "Bob." Shortly after Tyler started in on safety procedures in his best Peanut's Teacher voice, it dawned on me......It's TYLER.....

I waited patiently through the Contemporary stop, and then it was our turn to get off at the Polynesian. Since we were sitting in the back, we got off the bus, and I went up to the front......and said "ChipandDale????"

and the rest....is already documented somewhere else in the world!!!!!!!!


Okay....who is next???????

Boo's Mom: That will be hard to top. I'm not there until 12/14 and I can't wait to hear my daughter asking me why we are running all over checking out the bus drivers at all the bus stops. But I've got 3 weeks to come up with some "clever" answers.... Can't wait to hear about some more sightings!

Unfortunetly, Disney is VERY strict about what we're allowed to wear... so I cannot wear a ribbon on my costume. That also means I can't wear the What Would Walt Do award pin I received last month :( or the mini police badge pin a guest honored me with last week. :(

We went on a few busses from the Polynesian to DTD & MGM, but could never find you... I kept looking for your "Chip & Dale" on the drive over and around the bus terminals, but never saw it... We did meet Marc along with his sidekick Eyeore coming out of DTD, I believe it was last Wednesday night and we met a driver from Worcester, MA, but never Tyler... Boo, Hoo.

You met Big Marc! Cool... he's really great. Lives a few buildings down from me.

A "Signal 80" is our radio code for lost item... We use the radio code for privacy reasons. For example, we dont want "Bus Central... be advised, a guest left a camcorder on 4805" Someone might overhear, and then try and claim the camcorder as thiers. Signal 80 is just our term for it.

I met Tyler! He wasn't on a bus, he was with a group of DISers walking toward the Boardwalk from the Dolphin.

Thanks Tyler, that's what we thought about the signal 80, They found the baseball cap on another bus, but I thought that was really cool, that you go to such extents to find a lost package. One of the busses I was on, someone left a package and the driver called it right in to the central office.

Yeah, Marc is cool... he was so funny when he opened the doors, "DO NOT GET ON MY BUS!!!" He had to assist a person in a wheelchair first, then he came back to the front and said "NOW, YOU MAY GET ON MY BUS!!" and the jokes.. Ohmigod! But at least now I know the mules name in the apple dumpling gang! One kid knew it (first in three years!).

I can't wait to go back!!

Apparently this is a much tougher game than first anticipated. We'll be there for 2 weeks so maybe we'll be able to catch a glimpse of the elusive Tyler!

We took the Yuletide tour yesterday, so we were at the MGM bus information booth for about 45 minutes waiting, registering, etc. Saw about 50? busses go by. Didn't see any Chip and Dales in the window. (Probably saw the same dozen busses over and over again.

Since it was raining, we were all standing under the AK stop. Thinking about what Tyler said about how the bus system works, we probably drove the dispatchers crazy, making sure they sent a bus over to the AK stop to pick up so many people AND NOBODY WOULD GET ON THE BUS. :D

No Tyler, but we did have a great ride home from the MK one night with Marc and Eeyore! Marc said that about 10 people had asked him in the last few days if he knew Tyler. I think he is getting a rep with the other drivers!

LOL... Marc was telling me about all that yesterday...

A pity... I've only had one "Official" sighting the past 2 weeks... and it was with someone I had met a few days prior at a meet... :)

Chip & Dale have gotten a lil rowdy lately... when I'm driving the low floor busses, they tend to hide up in the mirrors... :smooth:

I met Tyler in July but at the time I didnt know he was Chip n Dale Express. To me he was just the best driver we had the whole trip. I wrote about him in one of my trip reports and then I found him on the boards.

My daughter and I are heading down for a short Christmas at WDW trip. We leave for WDW tomorrow (Saturday) and will be there for 4 nights. I'll be spending lots of time staring at bus drivers trying to find Tyler!!! Sure hope he isn't off during that time.

I went with my mom on a girls only trip from December 6th to the 14th. We looked at every name tag of any Male bus drivers, and looked for Chip and Dale and nothing!!

I did think I found Tyler one day while going to MK since our driver was so funny, so when I got off I said "Thank you very much,,,,," and leaned over him only to see his name tag said Michael. Darn it! Im sure Michael thought there was some crazy lady about to sit in his lap!!

But a friend and fellow poster of a private disney Yahoo group I'm in wrote a trip report and said that he and his wife and daughter gave a What would Walt do pin to a great bus driver named Tyler while they were leaving the MVMCP on the 8th in route to the BCV's would that be you Tyler??

I was at the same party with them but not staying at the Beach Club Villa's so I might have missed out :(

I think my husband was actually on your bus, Tyler! I had told DH when we arrived in Disney on Tuesday that when we were on the bus, we had to look for Tyler. DH does not understand this internet community thing, but said he was game.

Finally on Thursday evening, he was saying how difficult it was to check out the name tags on the drivers. I told him to look for the Chip and Dale in the window. He gave a disgruntled sigh and told me he wished he had known that earlier, as the driver of the bus from MGM to WL had the Chip and Dale in the front window!

So Tyler, do you remember taking a man from MGM to WL last Thursday? He had just returned from a visit to Reedy Creek Fire Department and he probably had a very excited look on his face and a black back pack stuffed with T-shirts. He would have been a bit out of breath, as he has walked from MGM to the fire department and then back. Just curious if this was a true Tyler sighting!

So close but yet so far!!!
We did a quickie trip this past weekend, as we had some business to do in Celebration. We were staying at the Gaylord Palms, and we took their bus over to WDW on Sat. night to have dinner at Ohana while watching the fireworks. Then we took the monorail to TTC to pickup up the Gaylord bus. Since we had some time to kill, I asked at the transportation window if anyone knew where Tyler was. The first person had no idea and got even more confused when I mentioned the internet. But he asked someone else who immediately knew who I was talking about. Supposedly Tyler was at the Magic Kingdom, but we had no time to head back and see. I wanted to at least leave my business card with a little note, but they wouldn't let me. Oh well, at least I ALMOST had a Tyler sighting. I think my DH thought I was nuts as he only hangs out on the cruise line board and has no idea what goes on over here. :D

I move thousands of people a day... so it's hard to remember every which one... however, I'm pretty sure that would have been me. :-) As far as I know, I'm the only one with Chip & Dale. :-)

My mom and I were looking the entire time at every bus for the chip and dale plush, so when we got home and I read his trip report I almost fell over when it said Tyler our bus driver......I had to call Mom and tell her how they found you after all the time we spent looking....LOL she was laughing so hard.

Tyler, I had no idea we were on a celebrity's bus until Stacey emailed me today. I rarely wander over here anymore, so didn't know anything about you or the Where in the World game.

You earned that pin that night by making us laugh at midnight after the MVMCP. We heard several other people on the bus make positive comments about your monologue too. Thanks again for going the extra mile to bring a little Disney Magic to your bus.

Every time we were waiting for a bus, I told DH we had to look for Tyler so watch for Chip and Dale. He doesn't come on these boards so I have a feeling he thought I was making up all of this! Oh well, I was looking and no luck.

Greetings from a rainy WDW! We're taking a break in our room (Wilderness Lodge is gorgeous!!) trying to dry out before dinner tonight at CRT. We've been here since the 19th and not so much as a hint of Tyler! C'mon Tyler, how's about a little hint on where to expect you in the next few days?? We're having a wonderful time, but a Tyler sighting would make it perfect! I did want to say that other than a near revolt on the bus back from MGM last night ( NOT the driver's fault!) the transportation has been near flawless! Happy Holidays to all, and we hope to be able to post a Tyler sighting soon!

Well that would explain the lack of a sighting. We've been riding the boats to and from the MK. We'll have to give the busses a shot! Thanks for the tip!! We got home Wednesday and sorry to say, no Tyler sightings during our stay. Looks like Tyler was hanging out at the MK and we were at Wilderness Lodge so we were using the boats for transportation back and forth to the MK. Btw Tyler, our good experience with the busses lasted the entire 14 days we were there. Not one delay....ever! Even on the holidays when the parks were absolutely insane! How they managed to move all those people as efficiently as they did was just amazing and a vast improvement over what we experienced in 2000. I took your advice and actually timed our waits for the first couple of days...never more than 10 minutes, and that was only once. Other than that, it was more common that the bus was waiting on us than us waiting on the bus! Funny thing though, a couple of times while I was timing the wait, several guests waiting for the busses who had arrived just about the same time we did were complaining about the "long wait"...it hadn't been more than 5 minutes either time. :rolleyes:

Glad to hear everything went smoothly... As you found out, for a lot of people, time passes differently... That's where 90% of our complaints come from I'm afraid.

As for where I will be... tomorrow will be my last night shift, and I will be returning to Mornings.

We had the most enjoyable ride back to the resort our last night-Friday, January 3. We were leaving EPCOT after closing and as usual the All Star line was very long and then they closed the individual line down and we were all directed to one line. Up comes a bus and guess who the driver was?? The ride was not a boring ride like all of the others that week. He even changed up the stops and let Music off first!! Yea for Tyler!! I had to tell him I enjoyed the ride as I left.
Hop to see you again in March when we bring the Grandkids for their first trip.

Okay Tyler, fess up. What's with the Bus driver, monorail driver, whatever Bob?? When we were leaving Epcot our driver was hysterical! Made the ride wonderful. In fact it's one of my dd's favorite things about that trip. He said and I quote..."If you like the ride, tell 'em bus driver Bob was the one." So....I'm confused. I can understand saying you're B.D. Bob if the service is bad but why if it's good?? Wouldn't the driver want the good report? Well...unless his name really was Bob. However, our boat pilot from DxL in '99 said his name was Bob too!!! Is everyone Bob??!!
