OK, I know that this is more a topic for the Restaurant board but I'm wondering if any of the regulars here on the Podcast board are planning on doing the F&W Festival.

Val & I are currently targeting October 10-17th which is Wednesday-Wednesday. We figure that gives us several week days to hit the booths before the heavier weekend crowds. It also includes the Swolphin Food Fest on the 12th and 13th. As an extra added bonus there is the annual Downs Walk on the morning of the 13th so we will finally get a chance to come out and be part of Ferris' Funky Bunch. :yay:

Anybody else got plans?

We will be in the world in September 17th and were going to hit it then. :)

I'm not sure. I was thinking of taking down the GKTW money and maybe doing F&W (I have never done), and then the buddy walk......however, after yesterday, I may like to take in the NE meet for the weekend in Sept. and then head to Orlando then.
Decisions, decisions:confused3:confused3

Lots of good plans, but so far it doesn't sound like many of us are overlapping. Val & I wish we could be there for the entire thing.

Wait a minute.....:rolleyes1

Originally we planned Sept. 29 - Oct. 21...then work messed that up, so now we're going down Sept. 21 - Oct. 8. The first week concentrating on our favorite restaurants, then the second week will be devoted to the Food and Wine Festival.

looks like 10/12 and 10/13 is Swan and Dolphin Food and Wine also. Jeff and Val you need to try this out. Each has its old flavor, but I prefer the Swan and Dolphin after going last year. Both are great.

We'll be at WDW from 10/13 - 10/20, and I'm bummed we won't get there until late on 10/13 so I miss the Swan/Dolphin event!
We will be hitting F&W a couple days (I think the 15th and one other time at least!) and going to MNSSHP on 10/16.

I'm not a regular poster (though I should be! I gotta work on that).. I'll be in WDW from Sept 28th - Oct 1st. I'm running the ToT 5k ... it's my first 5k ever so I'm a bit nervous/excited!

I think I will be hitting up Epcot on Sunday September 30th! If anyone wants to say hi let me know!

Congrats on your first 5K, don't worry...you will have a blast! I've only done one 5k, one 10k, one 15k, and a haf-marathon...all at WDW, absolutely the funnest place to run. Okay, full disclosure :goodvibes, I'm a walker.

Jeff,
We will be there 10-12 to 10-15 and we will also be at the Swalphin F&W classic. We went last year and had a great time. We are also going to try and hit MNSSHP on Sunday night. I think we now have plans for Sat. morning also if we get to walk with Ferris. See you there and hopefully we can talk on the Podcast.

you don't sound like much of a walker to me! You mean you walked a half marathon?!? Either way you did it though right?

Thanks for the encouragement.. I'm pretty excited and also scared that I'm going to get addicted to doing Disney races. What an expensive addiction right?? :goodvibes

But what a great addiction! Honestly, WDW has fun events and I think you will enjoy yourself.

Yes, I do walk/with a little jogging, and yes, I walked a half marathon...it was great fun!

I need to change my current solo vacation plan for late November so now I'm thinking either first weekend in November or 2nd weekend in November to check out the F&W Festival for the first time.

So much depends on what happens with the kids school activity schedules and my husbands travel schedule. I won't know either until early to mid September. I am very impatient and hate having to wait for those. :rotfl:

Jeff and Val, we will be there 10/5 - 10/13. Doing the first night of food and wine classic. Hopefully there are not torrential downpours like last year. Hopefully we can get together. I think Skip and Shelly are going to be there beginning the 12th also. :thumbsup2

At WDW 10/16 - 10/20
On Disney Fantasy 10/20 - 10/27
Back to WDW 10/27 - 10/29

This will be our fourth time at Epcot during F&W. My mouth is already watering! ;) I have four (maybe five) days planned at Epcot during our trip. When it is released, I need to download the map of the country booths and menus to make our "plan of attack". There's no way we can Eat Around the World in one day. ;)

There's a sticky thread about the Festival on the Restaurants board. When more info gets announced, TDC Nala will update the first thread with links to the special events and food kiosk menus and probably a PDF of the kiosk locations.

Me? I prefer to pick any day Monday through Thursday and Nosh Around the World. It does take me a few days to try the majority of the stuff I want. :)

We will be there the 9th-16th of October :woohoo: Going to enjoy Swolphin Classic on Friday night and check out the new AoA resort, too. My husband is presenting at a conference at the Dolphin most of the trip - so it will be a mostly girls adventure (meaning I am crazy enough to attempt WDW with my 2 little girls.) We will not be able to walk with Ferris, but I am going to send a donation in lieu of our funky feet. Best wishes to the walkers :cheer2:
