I'm hoping someone out there can help us...

Does anyone have experience using the Typhoon Lagoon elevator for the Crush-n-Gusher slide? Good or bad?

Is the elevator mostly for folks with mobility disabilities?

How does the line work with the elevator?

Has anyone used it with a wheelchair?

Thanks in advance!

If I'm remembering correctly (and I might not be, we don't do a water park every single year), you wait in the regular line up until you get inside the building. Then you take the elevator up to the platform.

I'm pretty sure you need a cast member to let you on the elevator, meaning it's only for people with disabilities. It's not like you have your choice between stairs or the elevator. The vast majority of riders will be using the stairs. When we were there DD was the only one I saw who needed the elevator.

Again, not sure how accurate my memory is on all that or if things have changed, but it was easy enough that I don't recall any problems.

Have fun! It's a WILD ride BTW but we love it.

Thanks so much for the help! We've been watching some Youtube videos of the ride...I think we'll be able to do it.

But, there was nothing about the queue or elevator on the videos...thanks for the help!

You're very welcome! I know we rode over and over again, and we wouldn't have done that if there had been a problem. The only thing though, once you get to the ride platform, it's basically a transfer from the chair to the raft on the ground. DD managed it fine, but I had to give her an assist.

We thought TL was a blast and the lazy river does have those bump step things to make the transfer easier.

We used the elevator for DS for our last few trips. Follow the path towards the tower, when you get close, look to your left for a small wheelchair sign posted at a fork in the path, it will be blocked with a chain. Let yourself in, follow the path around to under the tower and you will see the elevator. You will likely operate it yourself. when you exit at the top, the CM will direct you how to enter the slide. I had DS wait (he sat on the floor, he is somewhat mobile) while I took his chair back down, and placed it near the slide/pool exit, near the lifeguard, then took the elevator back up, this only took a few minutes. We were able to ride all 3 slides rather quickly this way. It is easier if you have someone in your group to take the chair back for you (and necessary if the H/C person cannot be left alone or does not have the mobility to move a few feet to the slide) They only allow the number of guests that can sit in one "slider" to use the H/c route, the rest of your group will have to take the stairs. Hope this helps!
