For the first time in our school's history, the Nordonia Knights are in the state semi-finals. Friday night, they beat the Avon Lake Shoremen by a score of 58-32. And it wasn't that close. After three quarters of play, Nordonia was up 58-0. The Nordonia coach decided to put in the reserve players (aka freshmen) to play out the remaining quarter. I have got to give our coach a lot of credit for that. I suppose that he could have run the score up even more and perhaps even broken some Ohio high school football record, but he decided to let all the boys play and at the same time let the other team save face. No one thought that our team would get this far. Who knows. They could end up state champions. :)

GO KNIGHTS!

How exciting! Congratulations to the Knights!! I adore high school football! I'm a football mom from way back. ;) The team my son was an assistant coach for went to the first round of playoffs and then lost. They were winning 13-0 at half time. They just fell apart in the second half.
Here's wishing the Knights go all the way!!! And, special kudo's to the coach for putting in the Freshmen. I know a lot of coaches that wouldn't do that.

GO, KNIGHTS!! :bounce: :bounce: :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

Towncrier, thats great go out and watch a game if you get a chance. The team will appreciate all the suppoort. Our son played HS football and now plays college ball. He played for the state championship his senior year and even though they finished second he still is very proud. So are his parents:rolleyes:

Congrats and good luck Knights!

My school's team was REALLY bad this year (our record was 3-7) but our rival high school made it to the semifinals and lost on saturday. We got a new coach this year who was supposedly one of the best in the state or something like that, but you wouldnt know it from watching our team. Oh well, maybe next year.
