We've all been there before ... we LOVE a specific cast member ... would like to be able to request them on an upcoming DCL cruise ... but not sure if they are still with DCL, or whether they moved to a different DCL ship. What do you do? Although you can "request" a specific cast member (through your reservation via your Travel Agent, or DCL), that does not mean your cast member will be on the same ship ... nor does it mean they will not be on THEIR vacation while you are on YOUR vacation.

Here's the plan ... if you had an extremely positive experience with a DCL cast member ... please post their first AND last name, their department, ship name, and cruise date (estimate is okay, if you do not remember) ... here's an example:

Maiden Fantasy, March 31 - April 7, 2012
Ivan Frick - Palo Server
Daniel Javor - Main Dining Room Server (departed DCL - 2012)
Radoslav "Rado" Hristev - Assistant Server
Faisel Faisel - Head Server
Tri Martudiyanto - Stateroom Host

By posting similar content for a RECENT DCL cruise, I am hoping other guests will be able to use this thread to locate their favorite cast members! *** PLEASE *** DO NOT post any personal information as this thread is merely designed to let other guests know which ship your favorite cast member IS / WAS located ... so they may request them on an upcoming DCL cruise. :wave2: This DOES NOT guarantee your cast member will be on a specific cruise or ship, nor does it guarantee they will not be in between contracts, on vacation, or have transferred to another department or DCL ship in the interim.

#######

YOU CAN USE THIS THREAD IN THREE WAYS ... updated 3/22/14

1) Read the last 5-10 pages of posts. You will have the most up to date information about cast members. as posted by guests. Some of this information may include a cast member's location / department (Palo vs. Main Dining Room), and current status with DCL (perhaps they moved to a different department or ship). In addition, some guests will post when a cast member has left for, or returned from vacation.
2) If you are familiar with how to search a DISboards thread, and if you know a cast member's name (or home country), search this thread using whatever information you have (Ivan Frick, Hungary ... Radoslav Hristev ... Daniel). Your search will come back with all matches, depending on the criteria you selected.
3) Read through ALL posts (it will take a while). This will help you get an idea of how many people like a particular cast member over a long period of time (remember, cast members may change ships, or eventually leave DCL)

WOULD YOU LIKE TO COMMUNICATE WITH YOUR FAVORITE DCL CAST MEMBER? updated 6/10/12

The following address is to be used for letters and small packages sent by US Mail (only) ... for any / all Disney Cruise Line ships ... regardless of their home port ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD:

Disney Cruise Line / Guest Communications
attn: Disney (SHIP NAME) / Crew Member Name & Department
PO Box 10238
Lake Buena Vista, FL 32830-0238

When received, DCL enters the packages and letters into inventory, then sorts by ship and cast member name. When a cast member receives multiple pieces of mail, DCL will bundle all of their mail together (much like military mail call). DCL transports cast member mail to various ship ports, including Port Canaveral, New York City, Miami, Galveston, Los Angeles, San Diego, Miami, Seattle, Vancouver.

*** Packages and letters being forwarded to ports outside of Florida WILL entail additional time in transit.

REQUESTING A CAST MEMBER ON AN UPCOMING CRUISE? updated 3/20/14
SERVERS: If you are requesting a specific cast member (Main Dining Room, Palo, or Remy) because of information you found on this thread PLEASE LET YOUR CAST MEMBER KNOW you found them on DISboards! You'd be surprised at how much it means for them to know how special they are to you (and those of us on DISboards)! The Head Servers always seem to be amazed at the extent to which guests pursue top notch servers, and are pleased to know there is a BLOG to recommend cast members! :)

STATEROOM HOST: It is nearly impossible to request a specific stateroom host, as they may not be working on the same areas as your assigned stateroom.

BAR TENDERS: Remember, bar tenders rotate among the various bars ont he ship(s) ... so ... if you saw your favorite bar tender at "x" bar 9 months ago ... they will likely be at a different bar when you return (assuming they are on the ship). All this means is that you may have to BAR HOP to find them ... though you might ask as Guest Services,or ask another bar tender!

THOUGHTS ON GRATUITIES ... updated 5/6/14
Gratuities vary from cruise line to cruise line ... not only does the dollar amount vary, but also, how they are distributed also varies. Some cruise lines (such as Royal Caribbean) take the gratuities paid on your stateroom account (folio), and divide them evenly among the staff for the entire dining room. This means, if your servers were phenomenal, but servers at other tables were horrendous ... all are sharing in the gratuities you paid. With the possible exception of bar tenders in certain situations, DCL does not share or divide gratuities. Every dollar you designate for your specific head server, server, assistant server and stateroom host goes directly to that cast member. In the rare instance an alternate cast member had to replace your scheduled cast member (temporary illness, etc), the gratuities are divided based upon the number of days of service by each cast member.

Have you ever NOT given a gratuity to a cast member on your stateroom account? Whether you gave them cash, or thought their service was abysmal, I personally believe someone at DCL monitors the gratuities (and/or lack thereof) as paid on your stateroom account. Accordingly, if a cast member may not be up to 100% on a particular day ... I do not hold that against them with respect to gratuities (many of us would be in trouble at work, if we were paid based upon our daily performance). On the other hand, if I truly appreciate the extraordinary service of a cast member, I typically provide them with the suggested gratuity (paid on my stateroom account), and offer additional cash on the night before debarkation. While it may not be the most personal method of showing appreciation, cash speaks volumes, and everyone can use cash.

In the event you are sailing on a cruise to a region which does not use U.S. currency, consider offering your cast members bonus (cash) gratuities in the local currency (Euros, etc). This is a good time to check your pockets to see if you have any foreign currency previously set aside to purchase trinkets or beverages while in a foreign port. Let's face it ... those 3 Euros will not do much for you in Orlando, but your cast member will be in a position to use those Euros while in port!

CAST MEMBER BIRTHDAYS: updated 12/3/13

We've ALL seen or heard of a guest celebrating a birthday while on DCL. Frequently, a server (MDR or Palo) is notified, and a birthday cake or dessert is presented to the guest, with other servers joining in with birthday wishes. Many guests enjoy the caring thoughts of appreciation and recognition ... BUT ... what about the cast members? THEY HAVE BIRTHDAYS, TOO! During a cruise in 2013, we learned our Main Dining Room server's birthday was upon us. We adored him so much ... we wanted to do something to recognize our server's birthday. Here's what we did ...
1) We summoned our Head Server ... indicated our server's birthday (Sammy) was upon us
2) We asked our Head Server if WE could present our server with a birthday cake / dessert ... and sing Happy Birthday to him
3) As you may know, cast members are NOT permitted to consume any food prepared for guests (it is grounds for immediate termination)
4) A Head Server is able to authorize a deviation, which would enable a cast member to have (eat) food which would normally be prepared for guests
5) In order for a cast member to be able to have this food ... a Head Server must authorize it in writing
6) In our circumstance, the Head Server informed our server that one of the guests at our table was celebrating a birthday
7) As is normally the case, the server brought out a birthday dessert, and was joined by several servers from surrounding tables (to sing Happy Birthday)
8) When the servers arrive at the table, the Head Server would normally announce a birthday for Guest "x." However, in this case, the Head Server indicated it was Server Sammy's birthday ... and lead everyone in a rousing rendition of Happy Birthday TO OUR SERVER ... Sammy.
9) Upon conclusion of the birthday wishes, we told Sammy the dessert was FOR HIM! Ordinarily, servers know they are not permitted to consume anything prepared for guests. However, the Head Server told the server the guests asked for the server to enjoy his birthday, and his birthday dessert.

The surprise and joy on the face of our server was unmistakable. Think about it ... these servers jump through HOOPS to take care of US. This was a small token of appreciation from guests to a server. Please consider random acts of kindness towards your cast members. If you know their birthday month ... ask your Head Server if you can sing Happy Birthday to your server (don't forget the cake / dessert)!

KNOWN SERVER BIRTHDAY MONTHS: updated 3/11/14

MARCH: Susana Moreira (Portugal) - Palo Server / Magic
MAY: Ivan Frick (Hungary) - Palo Server / Fantasy
MAY: Laszlo Gion (Hungary) - Palo Server / Magic
MAY: Sompong "Sammy" Poonchuroensuk (Thailand) - Main Dining Room Server / Magic
SEPTEMBER: Radoslav "Rado" Hristev (Bulgaria) - Main Dining Room / Fantasy

If you know the Birthday MONTH of a DCL Server or Assistant Server, AND, if the cast member has authorized you to post their birthday month on this thread (no date or year), please contact me via PM. I will obtain the information from you, and update this post (please do not post personal contact information in other threads or posts). Remember, I will need their first AND last name, as well as their home country, department and current ship.

Daniel Javor is from Hungary

If anyone requests Daniel Javor (Hungary), or Radoslav (RADO) Hristev (Bulgaria) ... you will be extremely delighted!
- Consider bringing Daniel A BOX OR TWO OF MILK DUDS!
- Consider bringing Rado Kit Kat, Almond Joy, Reese's Peanut Butter Cup, or Hershey bars!

As of mid April, both Daniel Javor and Radoslav Hristev are OFF the Fantasy ... but will be back on the Fantasy by end of May / early June 2012.

Often, you will find our cast members do not have access to many US chocolates at home. Even so, it's a special treat for them ... something they do not generally have access to on the ships!

Seriously!

Ivan Frick (Hungary)
FANTASY / PALO

... will be leaving on vacation around the end of May / early June 2012. Expect a minimum of 4 weeks of vacation ... though 8 weeks or more is not uncommon.

If you are sailing the Fantasy in July / August / September 2012 ... you may STILL request Ivan Frick in Palo. If he has returned to the ship, you will be matched with your server. :cool1:

Loved Gábor, too on the Dream in Jan.

Gabor was part of the DISNEY DREAM TEAM ... which consisted of 5 of the FINEST servers within DCL! I've never sailed on the Dream (prefer longer cruises) ... but may think about a quicky 4 day cruise to compliment a stay in WDW!

How do you go about requesting server? We are on the Fantasy in July and with my 85 year old parents and want to make it extra special!

It's easy ... contact your Travel Agent, tell them you would like to "request a server" on your upcoming cruise. If you booked your cruise with Disney Vacation Club (DVC) ... you will need to contact DVC. If you booked your cruise directly through Disney Cruise Line (DCL) ... you will need to contact DCL. HOWEVER, if you booked a cruise while onboard a ship, and referenced a Travel Agent on your reservation form, that means you "technically" booked through that Travel Agent. In this case, you will need to contact your Travel Agent.

When you make your request, supply as much information as possible. If you only know the server's FIRST name, and their home country ... that SHOULD work. However, if you know their last name ... that will help even more!

You ALSO have the ability to specify the size of the table at which you dine. If you are a party of 4, and would like to dine alone ... merely request a "tabletop" of 4. If you are a party of 2, and would like to dine with others, merely request a tabletop of 4, 6 or 8.

Hope this help! Enjoy! :yay:

We had

SERGIO asst SERVER Sept. 2011 Dvc Member Cruise. I requested him for our Dec 2011 Dream cruise. We were pleased he was promoted to SERVER and was our server for that cruise. At that time he was going to the Fantasy. We have our Member cruise this Sept , another Dream Dec 2012 cruise and a 2013 Nov30th Fantasy cruise. Im hoping we can find out where he is to request him.

Do you know Sergio's last name, or his home country? If so, that would make it easier to request him on an upcoming cruise.

If SERGIO was transferred from the Dream to the Fantasy (late 2011), odds are, he will be part of the Fantasy crew. Some of the crew on the Fantasy have already begun rotating off for vacation ... while others will be on the ship for 2-4-6 months before heading off for vacation. This ensures there isn't a "new" crew on the Fantasy (Disney learned from their previous mistakes).

For your Fantasy cruise ... consider requesting SERGIO as your FIRST REQUEST, but also, consider selecting another cast member as a secondary request ... in case SERGIO is not aboard the ship for your specific cruise.

For your Dream cruise ... since SERGIO likely will not be on the Dream, consider requesting someone previously mentioned in this thread.

Server: Ozen from Turkey
Head Server: Ali also from Turkey I believe
Palo: Felice (I think that is how it is spelled - I believe from Italy)
Edge Counselor - Jack - we had him twice now - and my daughter just thinks he is the coolest guy EVER. I am really hoping he moved over to the Fantasy :) There is another counselor from Edge whose name escapes me, that my daughter also loved, who I believe will be on the Fantasy with us in Sept :)

I AM TELLING YOU, YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED! if you didn't happen to see him on the Dream PLEASE give him a message for me. ( I am giving you time now to write this down for me ;) )

please tell him that Pam & family(Glen &Allison) from NC and Jill & family from the UK said hello & we are dying to see him & we will be on the Magic August 17th.

you do not know how much I would appreciate this! we were on the dream in 2010 & he was on vacation at the time and our cruise just was not the same without him!

Alex Ocampo is great. We had him as a server on one of our shorter cruises.

Our favorite cast member is our server Sammy (Sompong) from Thailand. I won't even try writing out his last name, but it's printed on our tip stubs. Unfortunately, Sammy has no interest in computers, so email is out of the question. Last we heard, he was intending to stay on the Magic. Has anyone seen Sammy? It's been over a year since our last Magic cruise, and we won't be back until July 2013 for Greece.

Marla - you are right..his account is deactivated on FB....I wonder what happened...I didn't have a chance to ask my DH if he knew, but I would bet he wasn't even aware he was gone.

I only became aware, because my friend was cruising and wanted to find out if he was on the Wonder, which she has confirmed he wasn't. This was first Alaska cruise.

I would like to know if anyone knows if Ponz is on the Magic right now? if you are a frequent dcl cruiser you will probably know who I'm speaking of.

EVERYONE knows PONZ! He's like an Elvis (singer, AND known by his first name). I have not been on the Magic for a while ... and hope he is still with DCL. He participated in the Crew Talent Show on the 2010 EB TransAtlantic ... the audience was STUNNED! He should be an entertainer!

that would be awesome! Are you cruising out of New York? I am trying to find out if any upgrades are available at the terminal on the New York based cruises. ( it is a little bit of investigative work I'm doing) Would it be possible for you to find out once you arrive at the terminal if any upgrades are available? if you could, please report back what time your arrival time was & the upgrade availability. Thanks so much!

Hi how do I want to ask for for servers on the magic?

From Page 2, post #21:

Enjoy!

I am trying to find out if any upgrades are available at the terminal on the New York based cruises.

Upgrades are subjective, and vary (GREATLY) by cruise date and itinerary. So, while the ship may be at capacity for a 2-day cruise, there may be "x" staterooms available on a Bahamian cruise, and there may be "y" staterooms available on a Canadian cruise. On top of that, depending on your current reservation, there may be staterooms available that would be considered an upgrade to others, but not to you. So, if you are a Cat 11 ... there MAY be a Cat 9 available on a Canadian cruise in June, but if you are a Cat 6 ... there may not be any upgrades available on your specific cruise. In essence, as the old adage goes ... "your mileage may vary!"

I hope the above information helps. If not, you may find you can access more information by seeking "NY upgrade" or "NEW YORK upgrade" in the main thread. If you do not find the information you are seeking there, consider posting a new thread. As it is, I'd like to keep this thread on topic, relating to providing and finding information regarding DCL Cast members.

Enjoy!

BUMMER! He was sailing the Wonder Inaugural Alaska (May 2011) ... but as a guest ... on vacation from DCL. He was an asset to DCL! I hope he left on good terms. I would have thought he would have been absorbed onto the Fantasy. He's our favorite host!

I have not heard of them. You might consider requesting them (for the Fantasy), in case they did transfer. However, you might consider adding an alternate as a back-0up, in case your former servers are not on the Fantasy.

For the Fantasy, I recommend:
Palo: Ivan Frick
Main Dining Room: Daniel Javor, Radoslav Hristev, Krisztian Kiss and/or Zsolt Szep :dance3:

good luck!

Zsolt Szep is a very, very good server! Can't go wrong with him.

Although he was not our server in Palo, Ivan Frick was on board in late April. I think he went on vacation right after that though.

Zsolt Szep and Ivan Frick are part of the original DREAM TEAM, a team of SIX of DCL's FINEST servers who were on the Dream. Four of the servers left the Dream for the Maiden Fantasy ... Zsolt Szep, Daniel Javor and Krisztian Kiss (Main Dining Room), with Ivan Frick (promoted to Palo).

Daniel Javor recently returned from vacation (back on the Fantasy) on May 26th, while Ivan Frick went on vacation June 2nd.
Currently Gabor Nemath and Csuka Mihaly remain on the Dream, in the Main Dining room.

Ivan Frick and Daniel Javor started with DCL in 2008. I first met Ivan Frick in August 2008, when he was assistant server on the Magic / EB Panama Canal cruise. When we returned to the Magic in 2009, Ivan had been promoted to Server. We requested him for two separate cruise on the Magic for 2009, as well as two separate cruises on the Magic in 2010. Ivan opted to transfer to the Dream for 2010. We opted for two weeks on the Wonder for 2010, but were pleased to be reunited with Ivan on the Fantasy on the Maiden Voyage. Since we would not get to see Ivan daily (as our server), we opted to bring US chocolates ... and made a point to stop up to Palo to deliver a goody bag of various chocolates each day.

Guests would do well by requesting any of the aforementioned servers on the Fantasy or Dream ... as well as Radoslav Hristev and / or Ronald Corpuz ... Assistant Servers on the Fantasy.

ENJOY!

I would suggest you make your Palo reservation online, as usual. When you board the Wonder, head to the location where Palo reservations are made. The Palo Manager is generally present. You can mention who you are talking about ... hopefully, they will be able to let you know if he is onboard the ship at the time, and amend your reservation accordingly.

As a side note, some guests have indicated a preference for either a male or female server ... a server from a specific country ... and even a server who speaks a specific language. Some have found the latter is a great way to connect with their ancestry and old roots!

4/22 Mexican Riviera Wonder
Stateroom Host: Eric Loila, super great, always said hello and remembered my name from day one. I saw him on his hand and knees scrubbing bathroom floors, he was superb.

Harry Simmons: Head Server: Checked in every night, cut entrees and refilled drinks when the servers were busy, exactly what a head server should do!

Lilijiana Ristic: Croatia: Assitant Server, AWESOME, friendly with the kids, amazing and fast with everything. Saw us in port and came over and said hi, chatted with us even during her VERY limited time off.

Englebert Souza: India: Server, fun magic tricks and pretended to spill a drink on my wife several times which had the table howling in laughter as she jumped out of her seat. When my wife wasnt feeling well, he insisted I pick and entree for her, which I did, and he had it brought up to our room, free of course. Awesome!

Tai, Australia, future cruise desk guy, I got to know him well and he bended several rules for us to book onboard. Super nice and helpful with my million different scenarios.

JD, kids club, SO awesome with my kids, you can see him in the Disney Wonder "time of my life" video, he dancing in the kids club with a white shirt. He ran several activites and my daugthers loved him.

Fiona, Englad, cruise staff: For some reason we just ran into her everywhere and chatted over and over, she is what I call a "real shaped" woman (my fav!), not a size zero stick, but is up there dancing during sail away and PITC party, always with a smile. She also ran Mickey Mania too.

I got some crap on here for asking so many times what server / assitant to request, well, it paid off, I had the all star team!

I do not know his last name but he works in the entertainment side of things...Bingo , games, animation drawing , etc. Every time he sees me he knows my name!

also, our all time favorite server is Alex Campo from the philippines! my sister and her husband returned a couple of weeks ago from the fantasy and requested alex but was told he is on the dream :sad1: . if you are cruising on the Dream anytime soon do yourself a favor & request him!

Just off the Fantasy yesterday, and we had great servers!

Renata from Hungary and Timo from Germany were great! I happen to be Hungarian, so I did request a Hungarian server, and was very pleased with Renata. We were with a large family group of many different ages, and Renata and Timo were very good at keeping the little ones happy so us older ones could enjoy ourselves, too!

Had Daniel Javor as our server at lunch one day, then saw him again at breakfast another day, and I see why he is also highly recommended! If Renata is not around on our next Fantasy cruise, I will cross my fingers and hope that Daniel is!

Our room steward was Melvin from Honduras, and he was very nice and very, very humble. He kept our ice bucket filled, and the room was always clean and tidy when we returned, and any request I had, he made happen.

We also had Palo brunch one morning, and met Laszlo in Palo, though he was not our server (and I did not care for the server we did have, but maybe he just was having a bad day, so I will give him the benefit of the doubt). Laszlo will definitely be requested next time we do a Palo meal, if he is still there!

We had Sampong on our first cruise in 2002 onboard the Magic.
We sailed again in January of this year and there he was at Parrot Cay during our welcome lunch! He was just as sweet as ever was happy we went to say hello. He took very good care of my then 9 year old, who is about to turn 20 next Sunday.

We love Sammy. It's been too long since we've seen him. We used to sail on the Magic every year, but we haven't been on that ship since summer 2010. He said that we wasn't planning on ever leaving the Magic, so we'll just keep our fingers crossed that our schedules coincide next July.

Two years ago, we had Ivan Ivanovich on the Magic for the Baltic and the Dover/Barcelona repositioning cruise. He was leaving for the Dream. He is terrific and I hope he has made it back to the Magic for the NYC cruises. Here's hoping ...

Does anyone know who is calling Bingo on the Magic right now? I'm hoping Trevor is back, but I doubt it.

Also had Ivan in the Baltic. When last I saw him -- on the Dream in March 2011 -- he had been promoted to Cabanas manager and was wearing whites. I've heard that he missed having guest interaction and asked to be put back into a dining room position, but I'm not sure how reliable my source was on that.

Trevor is on the Fantasy right now, if my memory serves me correct. He either boarded earlier this month or will be boarding any day now.

Any reports on the current cruise staff on the Magic?

Cruise staff on the Magic right now: Lara from England...
She became a friend to us during our WBTA last year.
If you talk to her please give her loads of love from Paul - Manon and Nina...
We still have contact together, so she was very special to us.

But moving back to the Dream in August.

If you fell under the watchful eye of Harry, you were going to have a great week. He's amazing! He remembers DH and I cruise after cruise, even with 6 months in between. No clue how they do it!

Glad all went well for you and your family!

Bartenders rotate between various stations. If server "A" is in Ooh-La-La on the Fantasy, they will rotate between The Tube, O'Gills, La Piazza (etc). This spreads out the workload, since some locations are busier than others.

Is this slight creepy? Almost tantamount to stalking?

Yes it's great to have the same cruise staff or server, stateroom host etc on your next cruise, but actually tracking them down to the ships and when they are on vacation?

Surely as long as you have great service, wouldn't it be good to meet new CM's and if the old ones are aboard say Hi to them?

Creepy? Tracking them down? No, not really. Much of the information is provided BY the cast member themselves. If they do not want you to know when there are on/off the ship, or that they moved to another ship ... they will not say anything. On the other hand, I have booked cruise dates specifically to coincide with a server's schedule ... and servers have been known to extend their contracts, so they can be reunited with previous guests.

Those of us who have sailed more than a dozen DCL cruises have developed relationships with numerous personnel. Many guests communicate with cast members via Facebook ... some guests go on a land-vacation to visit a cast member in their home country (the cast member would not delve into this, if they did not want the guest to visit).

Currently, I send monthly care packages of US chocolate *goodies* to several cast members. They let me know when they are going on vacation, and when they are returning. Their fellow cast members can get extremely jealous when they see the care packages received. Sending a care package is usually GREATLY appreciated ... as it tells the cast member how much they are appreciated. I have had some cast members tell me it makes them feel good - especially when they are so far away from home!

I sailed the Maiden Fantasy, but my Main Dining Room server (since 2008) had been promoted to Palo. I was provided with a list of suggestions (from my former server), which served as the basis for this thread. So, if anyone would like to request a server ... this thread can provide numerous opportunities to select an appropriate cast member (requesting a stateroom host is a different situation).

Having sailed on dozens of cruises, I have had many different servers. Some are OKAY, some are GOOD, while others are FABULOUS. I'd rather opt for a FABULOUS server as opposed to an OKAY server. This thread provides feedback for FABULOUS cast members, and makes it easier for guests to select a FABULOUS cast member. Since many guests tend to TIP generously for extreme service, this thread is tantamount to providing the cast members with more money in their pockets. They way I look at it, this thread is one more way of thanking the cast members for their dedication and service.

You once worked on the ship/ships.....wouldn't it have been nice to know that people were actually looking forward to being on the ship when you were working and looking forward to seeing you again?

I've booked a cruise to see a particular CM and they were very grateful to see us on board and flattered that we booked a cruise just because they were on it.

I can see why some would think it is creepy or stalking. For the cruise staff, servers, bartenders, etc I talk to on and off the ships I usually got to know them on the ships and at the end of the cruise they were usually like "add my on facebook" or back in the day myspace so we can chat or myself and friends I had met would be exchanging e-mails and we would ask if we could have the cm's e-mail, if they wanted to give it out they did and if not they didn't:goodvibes

I get the personal contact and sharing your contract details with a guest, I just meant that maybe that info was given without the knowledge that it would be shared with the many on here. I'm sure that cruise you took to see that CM was greatly appreciated by them and was flattering!
But some guest can be a little more enamoured with the CM that is reciprocated if you get what I mean! lol!
The poor lady that was very upset with the lack of response from an officer is a recent case in point.
I know friendships are made between guests and crew, and didn't mean my post to sound so dismissive or offensive.

Enamoured? Sounds like you are talking about DANIEL (not Javor)! All the ladies seem to want to get their picture taken with Daniel in his whites! :cloud9:

<poor lady> I am not sure I recall that thread. I know I tried to reach out (via FB) to a specific officer whom I have known since 1999 ... to no avail. I do not send more than two messages ... if they do not respond the second time ... I figure they are too busy, do not remember me ... OR ... perhaps they DO remember me, and would like to forget! :headache:

<dismissive or offensive> I do not think anyone was thinking that ... rather ... those of us on this thread love our servers!

Just curious ... has anyone else sent a care package to a crew member? :cheer2:

SERGIO asst SERVER Sept. 2011 Dvc Member Cruise. I requested him for our Dec 2011 Dream cruise. We were pleased he was promoted to SERVER and was our server for that cruise. At that time he was going to the Fantasy. We have our Member cruise this Sept , another Dream Dec 2012 cruise and a 2013 Nov30th Fantasy cruise. Im hoping we can find out where he is to request him.

Sergio was our server last week (sailed June 16th) on the Disney Fantasy. We loved him!! I think someone else posted that it would be helpful to know his home country, so if you need that info to request him, he's from Montenegro.

We had Sergio in May on the Fantasy. He was great. We are sailing again in August and have requested him. I believe he told us he was getting married so not sure if he'll still be there, but I'm hoping. Yes, he is from Montenegro! He knew that I loved one of the soups so much that he asked for it to be made 3 other nights for me, it was so good. When it wasn't made the second night he asked the cooks to make me something and they threw together a wonderful soup that was very close! Definitly ask for him if you get a chance!

I can certainly understand this view and think I shared it prior to cruising on DCL for the first time. The staff will share when they are going on vacation and where they are changing to (ship-wise), so I learned that it's not creepy/stalking.

Now, where I DO agree with you is posting last names (which is not public knowledge unless they were your servers) and trying to track them down on facebook (not adding them as friends as their invite) as some have tried to do with various members of cruise staff. That, in my opinion, is where the line gets crossed.

Thanks for confirming this. We had him as our server in October 2009 and his assistant server at the time was about as much use as a chocolate tea pot and kept disappearing. Edward made more than up for this and was essentially doing both jobs. We then met him again on our two cruises in 2010, but even though we had requested him for the second, we never had him as our server again. We still saw him around the ship a lot though and he always made sure to say "hi". He is actually from our home town.

So excited until we got to dinner that night & found out he had a family emergency & had to leave suddenly the week prior. I didn't get too many details but they just said he was scheduled to be back then, by the first day of our cruise, but wasn't able to confirm with them about a return.

Sadly, we had the worst servers we have had in 17 cruises, but DCL did try to honor our request as best they could, and I hope Daniel is okay - there was probably some big scrambling at the last minute because we had a pretty poor assistant server who had to be frequently helped by a floating helper the whole time, with our server catching most of her goofs as well...like giving us the wrong menus & drinks & stuff....oh well.

Does anyone know if Anne-Marie from Palo on the dream is now on the fantasy in Palo?

Believe it or not, she is now a Concierge host on the Dream. We love her too... She was going through her final training week on our Jul 13-18 cruise and will be taking over for Jenny.

We had her as our server in Palo on our first Dream cruise in Feb 11. When we returned in Jul 11 she was the Host at Palo. She just keeps moving up, we were joking with her that on the next cruise she will be the CD..

We too would like to know where in the fleet is Nikola Jovanovic?! :scratchin

He was our server in 2009 and we LOVED him!!! Is he still on the Magic? Anyone?

Thanks!

I read someone's TR and they had him as their server on one of the cruises that left NYC so earlier this summer, he was still on the Magic. We had him last October - I can still hear him say 'Mama Mia' - he was so good.

Is Zan on the Fantasy? He was our Head Server on the WBTA two years ago and he's great.

Also, looking for Anil from India. He was our Assistant Server on our first cruise many years ago. The last I heard he was a head server on the Fantasy.

I know that sometimes guest will get email addresses for some crew members. I was curious if anyone happened to have one for our server Sergio, from Montenegro? We sailed with him in May and just recently in August. It was his last sailing for a while and I meant to get a contact but forgot. Figured it was worth asking here...just in case someone might have it.
Thanks in advance.

How do you know if they are still on that ship? I recently had an excellent experience with Roberto Da Silva - Portugal on the August 25th sailing on the Fantasy. I would love to send him something. Also, what is allowed to be sent?
Thanks!

Anyone know where Luciana (Brazil) or Isolda (Peru) are?

Luciana from Brazil was our server on the Fantasy Aug 25 sailing. We loved her. Our girls loved the different crayon games she had for them each night. She celebrated her birthday and her wedding anniversary the Thursday night of our trip and we made arrangements with Disney to give her a bottle of champagne. We all sang happy birthday to her at dinner.

Last year in Sept was our first cruise and the person that made our time on the DREAM special was our Asst Server, Coy he was from Jamaica. On our last day after we ate breakfast my DW & DD were having a little trouble carrying some stuff they bought and my hands were already full, well anyways he seen them and came running over grabbed the stuff from them and proceeded to lead us out of the dining area and all the way out to the ships exit. Just surprised us at that point but we had just hit it off with him from day one. We are cruising on the Fantasy on 9/22 and would be curious if he is still with DCL and maybe even on the Fantasy??

How do you know if they are still on that ship? I recently had an excellent experience with Roberto Da Silva - Portugal on the August 25th sailing on the Fantasy. I would love to send him something. Also, what is allowed to be sent? Thanks!

Ideally, before departing the ship, I would ask them when their current contract expires (most will share the info with you). I also ask if they are on Facebook (not all cast members communicate with guests on Facebook). I find more cast members are willing to communicate via Facebook versus e-mail, as it is easier to access Facebook, and/or change e-mail accounts, while still maintaining privacy. If you did not ask while on the ship, try searching for them on Facebook. Remember, cast members PAY for their internet, have limited free time, and limited access (my server is often online at 2AM Eastern). If you cannot find them online, send them a short letter ... remind them of who you are (include when you sailed, any memorable moments, and a picture, if possible ... remember ... there are THOUSANDS of new guests EVERY WEEK). Ask them if it is okay to contact you via e-mail or Facebook (include your e-mail address and/or Facebook contact). Allow ample time to receive your letter, and respond.

As for shipping ... keep packages small ... under 12" x 12" x 12" +/- should be fine. Do NOT ship any homemade foods, or anything which can spoil. Once packages are received in Lake Buena Vista, they are put in a storage facility, then scanned for security purposes (including sniffer dogs). Accordingly, if you ship something on Tuesday, and it does not arrive in Florida until Thursday or Friday ... it will not pass through security until the next week ... which means it cannot be loaded onto the ship until the following Saturday. I try to send a private message to someone when I am shipping a package. Sometimes it can get to the ship within one week ... sometimes it misses the initial security screening, and takes another week.

Disney Cast Members are NOT permitted to have spirits / hard liquor in their stateroom. They ARE permitted to have wine. I would not suggest sending a 6-pack of beer ... it's not cost effective, and most beer fairly inexpensive. On the other hand, if you know your cast member likes a special wine which might not be available in the Caribbean, or on the ship, it might make a great gift idea. Here's an example:

Cast members from Hungary or Slovakia tell tales of an extremely popular (and not inexpensive) wine (Tokaji). It is not a brand name ... think of how CHAMPAGNE is for bubbling wine in France ... or Bordeaux refers to a wine coming from the Bordeaux region. Tokaji is not served on the ships, and not typically available on the islands. This might make a fabulous gift, especially if your cast member is from Hungary or Slovakia. You'd be surprised at how many items are available in the US, which may remind the cast member of their homeland.

Remember that cast members likely will not have room for souvenirs ... so anything consumable may work best. On the other hand, I recently sent a PM to one of my cast members, telling them I was going to send several t-shirts ... just after they returned to the ship, from vacation. In this example, the cast member will not need to pack as many clothes to board the ship. You would not want them to have to pay an extra $50 (baggage / weight fee) merely to return home with a souvenir t-shirt.

I typically also ask my favorite cast members to let me know when they are returning vacation, and also, to which ship they are returning. When I know a cast member is returning from vacation, I will often ask if they want me to ship anything to them (to the ship) ... ANYTHING they may want from the US. Remember, the retail atmosphere in the US is unlike most European countries ... so do not be surprised if they ask for a pair of jeans (be specific as to size, cut and manufacturer) ... a battery charger for their laptop or netbook (they generally cannot order US-powered chargers to be sent to their home).

When I am visiting New York City, Walt Disney World, or Disneyland ... if I see something with those locations imprinted ... I try to pick up something for them. I have sent oversized Hershey's chocolate bars from Times Square, "I LOVE NY" t-shirts (mickey-head used in lieu of a HEART.

When you ship something ... I almost always remind them ... if they do not like the taste / do not like the fit ... either give it to someone else on the ship, or throw it away. I *also* ask them to let me know if they like something a lot, and if they would like more (they may feel awkward to ask for gifts ... but they will usually communicate with you when received).

Sending them a hand written note with the gift ... telling them how much they mean to you is ALWAYS a moral booster. It provides a warm feeling to cast members who are working THOUSANDS of miles away from home, and away from their families for extended periods of time. *** Remember, if you like them enough to send them a gift ... remember to send an e-mail or letter of appreciation to Disney Guest Communications ... referencing the cast members first / last name ... date of sailing, etc. Cast members often receive acknowledgement when a letter is received.

Feel free to shares your story or experiences! :grouphug:

FWIW - We typically provide our cast members with treats from suburban Philadelphia (where we live). This would include Hershey's Chocolates (Hershey, PA), and Tastykakes (Philadelphia, PA). We often use the same goodies as FE's, as well!

You should check to see that US$ gift cards are accepted at HRC's outside the US.

From the FAQ sticky about sending packages to your stateroom. Not sure if the same rules apply to sending a care package to CM's or not.

Boxes Sent the Ship Ahead of Cruise - PLEASE follow these instructions carefully!!!!!! UPDATED AS OF 2/25/2009
• ONE box per stateroom, no exceptions.
• The package must have the guest full name, ship, sailing date, stateroom number or GTY if you have not been assigned a stateroom number.
• The package also must have a packing slip attached to the outside of the box that details the contents of the package. For prescriptions, a copy of the prescription is sufficient. Your list may or may not be read but it must have one. Write packing slip on the outside of the envelope.
• NO FOODS/DRINKS OF ANY KIND, LIQUOR OF ANY KIND, FIREARMS, ETC.. Items that cannot be shipped to the Disney Cruise Line Warehouse and delivered to the ship include: food products (any and all food products including baby food/formula), beverages (liquor, water, etc.), chemicals, and luggage. These items will not be accepted at the warehouse and will be returned. This may cause the dogs to hit on your box and that would be a bad thing.
• The required size of the cartons you are shipping down have to be about the size of a record storage box 12 inches on a side and should not weigh more than 20 lbs. (This has been asked personally by Dave Adams who is the owner)

Address your package(s) to:
Disney Cruise Line Warehouse
Guest Name / Stateroom # (GTY, if you don't know what it is when you send the package)
8633 Transport Drive
Orlando, FL 32832
Phone: 407-566-8196

In the bottom left corner of the top of the package put the following information: ATTN: HOUSEKEEPING
*Name
*Sail Date
*Ship
*Stateroom Number
*Packing slip that details contents of the package (for prescriptions, a copy of the prescription is sufficient)
• Packages must arrive by Friday by 3:00pm for the 7-Night Cruise on the Disney Magic (Saturday).
• Packages must arrive by Friday by 3:00pm for the 4-Night Cruise on the Disney Wonder (Sunday).
• Packages must arrive by Wednesday by 3:00pm for the 3-Night Cruise on the Disney Wonder (Thursday).

If your box is hit on by the screening dog or chosen for additional screening they will open the list and the box and look through it. They will close it back up and provided nothing bad is in it then it will be in your room as usual later after boarding. These boxes will be coming on the ship with the crew mail among other things so they may be in the staterooms later then they were before as they are low priority in the scheme of things for Disney.

Hey everyone just like everyone else here we have gotten to love the cast members on the ship. Looking for a couple inparticular, what ship is Harry currently on? We had him on our panama canal cruise. We had Trevis from Jamaica on the dream in Jan and trying to find out what ship he is on. He was the best server we have had. Also looking for Alex, bartender, he was on the pc wonder cruise. I never thought to get his info from him and would love to find him. On the dream in Jan there was a guy named Chris in the stores that we also got to know and just wondering what ship he is on? If anyone knows any of these guys that would be awesome

I was just posting what is in the FAQ sticky and it says no food/drinks of any kind - I take that to mean homemade or store bought.
You could always post on a meets thread for an upcoming cruise is someone would be kind enough to deliver something to a CM from you. That way you could mail it to them and they could give it to the CM personally.

I think Port Canaveral has Wal-Mart somewhere nearby.

If you have ever worked as a tipped employee, then you know it only takes a little bit extra to make a person's day. It also helps make up for the person that stiffed you, and some people really do refuse to leave a tip. It is absolutely demoralizing when it happens to you. I always leave extra, because if I had eaten those meals at any other restaurant, 18% would have been much more. Combine that with the phenomenal service, a little extra goes a long way. These people treat you like royalty and family, while they don't get to see their own family for long stretches at a time. They work 15 hour days without a break for months on end. I think Port Canaveral has Wal-Mart somewhere nearby.

At breakfast on our last morning our wonderful server said she was headed to Wal-Mart after breakfast time to do some shopping.I got the impression it was very close to the port.

Toto is on the Fantasy. He was our server on the 6/23 sailing.

We are planning to go on the Fantasy 10/27 Western Caribbean cruise saling. We were hoping to ask for Toto as our server, since we have had great service from him on 3 earlier cruises. Did Toto say how long he was going to be on the ship and whether he would sign up again for a new contract? Thanks.

Thanks, based on your suggestions, I have started a care package, with snack sized candy bars, prepackaged Goldfish, and a gift certificate to the Hard Rock Cafe. I checked HRC's website and they are located in Nassau, St. Maarten, as well as one in Portugal. He should be able to use or barter these anywhere!:yay:

I have found SOME countries have availability of SOME U.S. chocolates. My Assistant Server (Bulgaria) said he can get Snickers at home ... so I will sometimes ask him is he has ever has "x" or "y" before sending him new stuff. I try to send things which they cannot get at home. My next shipment will contain York Peppermint patties (Hershey and York, PA), as well as Peoperidge Farm MILANO cookies.

That reminds of of a time when we had 25 exchange students in Philadelphia (from the UK). The UK does not have the same junk food we have ... and they were BEGGING for Oreo cookies. I asked them ... "what kind?" They looked at me like I had two heads. They only knew of one variety. So, I told them of mint filled, orange filled, double creme, fudge covered (etc). They did not believe me, so I took them to the local grocery store. I swear, they were praying in the junk food aisle!

You should check to see that US$ gift cards are accepted at HRC's outside the US.

I agree ... no matter if it is a Hard Rock, WalMart, or Costco. Some companies may issue gift cards in US dollars, but may have limitations upon where thay may be used. This would be on special concern for locations where the local currency is not OFFICIALLY the US Dollar (ie: anywhere outside the USA).

So, if you are going to purchase a gift card, make sure you ask if they can be utilized outside of the USA ... as well as whether there are transaction fees or non-use fees for use outside of the USA. You might want to start off with a relatively small gift card ... and make sure your cast member knows that the card SHOULD, but MIGHT NOT work. I would hate for a CM to head to Hard Rock or Walmart with only the gift card, only to find out there is / was a problem.

WOULD YOU DO US A FAVOR? If you hear back from your CM (that the gift card works outside of the US), would you post it online for the rest of us to know? I think that is a great idea, and am sure others would love to provide gift cards as well. :cool1:

Did Toto say how long he was going to be on the ship and whether he would sign up again for a new contract? Thanks.

I am hoping someone will respond to your question regarding how long Toto would be on the ship. Generally, contracts are renewed, as needed. Sometimes, a cast member can be recalled sooner (or later) than normal. Sometimes, a Head Server might be recalled as a Main Dining Room Server, or Palo Server ... depending on the need.

Cast members are provided with lists of future sailings ... often, before new itineraries and sailings are released. As an example, CM's were provided with estimated dates for the Inaugural Alaskan Cruises several months before the information was officially released to T/A. This allows cast members to plan for their next contract ... in case one would like to change ships, or sail a new itinerary. It is not uncommon for cast member changes to be made prior to, or just after special itineraries (ie: Panama Canal, TransAtlantic, Alaska, Mediterranean).

When I become friends with certain cast members, I make sure I have a general understanding of the dates when they go on, or return from vacation. I have scheduled cruises based upon dates when cast members were scheduled to be on a specific ship, AND, some cast members will sometimes alter their vacation schedule (albeit, slightly), if they know they will be reunited with some of their favorite guests. :cool1:

I looked at most of the ports and did not see a lot of Walmart locations. Usually, the ones are at the embarkation and disembarkation ports and the crew members cannot get off the ship and go shopping during that time. Unless it was the eight night cruise out of NYC, and that would limit it to that itinerary. Which, cruise were you on that you saw crew members with Walmart bags?

Actually some crew members are given time off while in port on embarkation/debarkation day. There's a Walmart close to Port Canaveral and there's one across the port in Puerto Vallarta.

yes but that is only some crew members and only like two ports, so giving advice on giving Walmart gift cards to the all crew members for all cruises in inaccurate, not all cruises have ports at a Walmart and not all crew members can get off of the ship. If you wish to give a crew member something extra, the best thing would be cash. The OP for the Walmart gift card was not specific on what cruise they were on.

For the Dream and Fantasy ... a Walmart is indeed, close by. Since the Wonder and Magic change home ports, it could be an issue with being able to utilize gift certificates ... especially when not on US soil. A gift card to Hard Rock Cafe (or their favorite hang-out at a port-of-call) sounds nice ... but you'd have to research to make sure a US purchased gift card (in US Dollars) will work abroad (possibly in Peso's ... which may be subject to a transaction fee).

Sending CASH through the mail is not an option ... though it's FABULOUS when in person. For those who communicate with CM's (Facebook, e-mail or snail mail), why not ASK them if you (the guest) could buy them a gift card ... ask the cast member what type of gift card they would like. I am sure they will be flattered ... some might decline (depending on how well you know them). If I were to ask my CM's if they wanted a gift card, I am sure they would give me a LIST of acceptable locations.

Since we will be sailing on December, we will be bringing a few extra bottles of Hungarian Tokaji ... I am sure the Hungarian servers will appreciate a taste of home. While we are on the ship, we can ask what gift cards would be appropriate. Just remember, if their ship changes itineraries ... the ports (and hence, the stores / restaurants) will change. There aren't too may options for Alaska ... not sure about Vancouver or Seattle ... but when the Wonder sails into Miami, it's a different story. FWIW, there is a Walmart in Miami (8651 N.W. 13Th Terrace, Miami, (305) 470-4510), which is about 10 minutes west of the airport (take Perimeter Road). This isn't REAL close to the port ... but might be worth consideration. If that does not work ... perhaps a GC to a local eatery would fit the bill. You might think they will like Jimmy Buffet's, but they may prefer Peco's Bill's! It's safest to ASK the CM for their preference.
:beach:

Feel free to send your CM's a quick letter ... invite them to send a response via e-mail or Facebook (they have limited time online, and are required to pay for internet time). :coffee:

Crew members get free time at various times of various days. It is not uncommon for cast members to get time off the ship(s) during embarkation day ... granted ... not every cast member gets time off. As a side note, there is no reason why a cruise out of NYC, let alone an 8-day cruise, would be the only time for a cast member to get time off the ship.

The same can be said for Castaway Cay ... some cast members get time off, while others get no time off (though this changes cruise-by-cruise).

This thread deals with knowing where your favorite DCL Cast Member(s) is / are located. Some of the discussion grew to what can we give (or send) to cast members. Of course, when you are face-to-face, cash is very nice (though other SPECIAL thank-you's are appropriate, as well). Some of us choose to send care packages ... I send packages every 4-6 weeks.

Someone posted they had thought of sending a gift card. I believe that is a great idea ... especially since sending cash via mail is not the best choice. Granted, the choice to send a gift card involves some homework. If a ship is sailing out of Port Canaveral, there is indeed a WalMart close to port. If the ship is sailing to Nassau, or Western / Eastern Caribbean ... I'm hoping the guest would research which retailers / restaurants are close to specific ports (ie: Hard Rock in Grand Cayman or St. Thomas). That being said, it also makes sense to ASK your cast member if they have a preference (some may forego Hard Rock in favor of Bubba Gump in Puerta Vallerta and Cancun).

While not every cast member gets time off at the same port each cruise, it's generally accepted for a cast member to get some time off at each port ... during the course of the season. I would not suggest sending gift cards which can only be used in a single port on a specific day (ie: Gibraltar, or Azores, on a TransAtlantic cruise ... or Cartegena or Aruba on a Panama Canal Cruise). I do not believe anyone intended or suggested a WalMart gift card would work on all cruises, for all cast members. Again, check with your cast member ... ask them would they would like (they know their itinerary, and where they like to go).

I would have LOVED to go Salmon fishing ... will likely do that next time, as well as either a plane or helicopter ride, as well!

I checked online ... Wal-Mart Ketchikan is located at 4230 Don King Road (907/247-2156). Mapquest seems to put it about 2 miles from port. We noticed a Costco within sight of a port in the Mexican Riviera (we have Costco membership). There is a LOT of information available online ... only a few clicks away!

This was on our Alaska cruise. I was certainly not saying this is the end-all perfect gift for everyone... Just sharing my conversation with our servers. They said the CMs they were with loved going there in quite a few ports. Just a simple thought to add to the discussion..... Of course a gift should never replace the actual tip, for sure! I just know some people ask about extra things to do.:)

FWIW, I am currently working on developing a new thread ... which will list the address for most DCL home ports and ports of call. In addition, I will be posting the address and phone number for nearby WalMart and Costco stores, as well as a rough estimate of how far away the store is located from the port.

I am hoping guests and cast members will be able to use this as a basic reference tool, which will help with basic shopping needs, photography needs, as well as drug store needs (all of which are in most WalMart and Costco stores).

This information will be a non-stop work in progress ... meaning ... as stores are built, new additions will be made. This information will be usable by cast members, as well as guests ... regardless of whether guests intend to make purchases for themselves, or purchase gift cards.

DISCLAIMER: YES, Costco requires a membership, UNLESS you are using their pharmacy.:beach:

We had a few favs on our Jan 2012 Dream cruise (I know not so recent but maybe others have had them since)

Palo: Felice (I think that is how it is spelled - I believe from Italy)

Yes! We had Felice on the Sept 13 Dream cruise that we just left! He was AMAZING! So sincere and just the nicest guy. We kept seeing him in other places - serving and clearing at the serenity bay lunch, cabanas on debarkation day, and each time he came up to us and asked how how cruise was, and joked that the food and service were CLEARLY better at Palo. He was hysterical. Anyway.. he said he's on the Dream until December 2nd (or 12th? It had a 2 in it..) and then he's heading home to Italy until his Mama gets sick of him.

Yes, and you can make several requests. Mine reads like a novel. I want our Assistant Server from our last cruise, not sure if she is a server by now, but she rocked it.

Many Gold and Platinum DCL Castaway Club members know Ciao Romano. Ciao was server on the Magic, who would also become Palo Server, as well as Head Server in the Main Dining Rooms. Ciao would also be named Palo Server of the Year. Ciao always has a smile on his face, and knows how to take care of his guests.

After a recent vacation, Ciao returned to DCL, but has been transferred to the Fantasy as a Palo Server. Ciao is scheduled to be on the Fantasy through February 2, 2013.

Can you make a request if you aren't sure whether they are still assistant servers or not? Like can I just say "this person" regardless of if they are an asst or main server?

Others have already responded, but I wanted to add ... "guest requests" are typically reviewed by a DCL Restaurant Manager approximately 1 - 2 weeks prior to actual sail date. In my case, I will be requesting my previous ASSISTANT SERVER (by first & last name, plus country) ... who will be rejoining the ship on the day I board the ship as well. In this case, ship personnel MAY NOT realize the cast member WILL be on the ship. In this instance, I will merely explain the situation to DCL or T/A (at time of my request). HOPEFULLY, this information will be reduced to comments which can be read by the Restaurant Manager.

In addition, for those who sail B2B cruises, you may request the same server for both (multiple cruises). In this case, when your table and server are assigned for your first segment, the Restaurant Manager will also schedule your table and server for your remaining segments as well.

If you cannot make up your mind as to a specific cast member, you might consider making a request for a cast member by nationality or gender (ie: Hungarian or female).

Guests may also request a specific table number. Requesting a specific table number would be ideal if you absolutely LOVED the view or vantage point during your last cruise. Understand, table numbers are not the same on all ships, SO, if you loved table #42 on the Wonder, don't expect the same location on the Fantasy (especially when comparing classic to newer ships). Table locations are subject to minor changes (ie: party of 10 may require a table-top of six, and a table-top of four to be combined).

PLEASE DO NOT request a specific table number AND a specific cast member for the same cruise. Cast members are assigned to specific teams during contracts ... which allows them to work under a specific Head Server and Restaurant Manager. A cast member does not have the ability to be randomly assigned to any table within the restaurant ... not to mention the headache of being able to coordinate the changes.

We just finished our Fantasy cruise. It was so much fun! We met 3 amazing crew members, and I didn't think to ask for their last names to send them a thank you note or something. There was Sarah from England at the Oceaneer Club/Lab, Julian the bar tender from Jamaica, and Dylan from Tennessee, server at Palo. We were lucky enough to see Dylan at breakfast at Cabanas the last day, but with all the fuss I couldn't talk too much to him. I didn't think to ask for their last names or anything. :p Now I see some of you have successfully sent care pacages for your favorites, and sounds like a good idea.
