if we were going to take them? I can pack some extras as long as I get them back at the closing reception. I will also have my cell phone - is someone from each mini-meet going to be in charge of cell phone numbers so that we can catch up with each other if needed? I would be willing to set up numbers for the two way radios for all the mini-meets and see if Pat can put them on the itinerary.

Chris I was just thinking about this a few minutes ago , I'm taking mine just in case, I think it would be a good idea to think of a frequency for discon so this way we could keep in touch.

I bought one just for DIS-Con-I.

It has 14 channels and 38 codes.

It sure would be nice to know what channels and codes to use at WDW.

I wonder what would be the best way to plan all this ahead of time.

I don't own one but, I think it would be great to know someone has one with them at the mini-meets, keeping tabs on everyone else's meets/locations. Especially on Thursday! :eek:

Well unfortunately my cell-phone isn't tri-band so won't work in the good ol' USA - so if we are going with the "walkie-talkie" idea I'd love to borrow one :)

I believe something is being worked out re the mini meets so that everyone knows who is hosting...and then you can get their cell phone numbers from them..

we can always set up a frequency for discon for those of us who the cell phone is not an option like Fantasia Sam , and use those. I will be willing to set up frequencies so we can arrange that. I would tell you via PM. What do you think?

We've got a couple of the older models that don't have the subchannels. They are pretty much worthless. The only time that I find them useful is when we are caravaning somewhere and we use the radios to communicate among the cars in the caravan. That works well because of the limited range of the radios and the fact that any bozos along your route will only be in range for a couple of minutes.

For communicating at the park, I much prefer my cellphone. :)

The subchannel ones will work the best. KANGA....why don't you plan on working on some subcodes and then send a pm to PatinMN to see if he can put them on the itinerary for us to have. I'll have an itinerary with me at all times. I think we need different codes for each mini-meet though. Maybe like channel 12 as the main channel with subcodes for each meet.

I will be bring my cell phone, but I don't have a plan that you can talk all that you want to talk. Mine is a prepaid phone.

But I would still like people to have my phone if they would like to use it at DIS-Con-II.

At home, I don't use it at all except for emergencies. I prefer my land based home phone instead.

But WDW is completely different lol. So I've saved up almost $100.00 worh of time since last May to use.

But maybe some people may not have an all you can use cell phone plan to use at WDW.

DISers do like to talk...lol.

I would like to use my walkie-talkie for non-stop talking and sharing with other DISers at WDW.

Just thinking out loud...lol.
