We have just started looking at resale contracts b/c we want to add to our current membership. I am strictly looking at the resale market. Our initial purchase was made through Disney and I don't feel that it is necessary to go through them again. With that said, I am looking at all the "major" resale sites and have found some of them to be (what I would consider) not so great at communicating. I would love to hear what other people's experiences are and if there are any particular sites that have agents who respond to you in a timely manner, etc....
Also, when you want to place an offer, do you typically send your offer via email or call the agent you are working with?
TIA!!!

I just closed on a contract through Fidelity. My offer / acceptance of the contract was done verbally, but after that it was all via email. I was not bitingthe bullet to get everything done and signed, so I was fine with the time it took to close. It was in Disney's ROFR process in a few days from signing the paperwork and went to closing soon after ROFR. I am now waiting on Disney to so their part, and I do not think that matters what resaler you use.

I did not have constant communication from Fidelity, but they did what they needed to do. Some folks seems to want weekly updates.

We are currently using Carrie from A Timeshare Broker. She has been great so far. She responds to our emails pretty fast. We have done everything via email so far. Great experience so far.

We are in the midst of purchasing a resale through Fidelity & they've been very good about returning phone calls & responding to emails. I called them to make our offer. They called back as soon as they had a response from the seller. We just went to ROFR yesterday though, so it's still fairly early in the process. Most of our communication has been via email - that's how the contract came through/was returned & how most contact has occurred.

All offers were by email with all brokers. I bought twice through Fidelity. I did not need much communication. Rachel was great. Happy Hunting!

Doesn't anyone use The Timeshare Store?
I have never bought resale but I've had good luck selling with them.

We are in the process right now (at ROFR) with TSS and I have been very happy with the contact. Jerry contacted me within hours of requesting information online. When we found the listing we wanted it was a Sunday and Scot took our offer and information and we had our paperwork within hours to confirm the sale. We have been emailed at every step and I have felt completely in the loop and 100% happy. I know we still have a ways to go to complete the sale but I am pleased as of now.

Thank you for all of your input. I appreciate it. I think I will stick with the resale places mentioned. I put in an offer with a different one yesterday (one that I have seen mentioned on the boards before) lunch and heard nothing by the end of the day, so I called and left a message. Just before lunch today, I got an email that indicated that my offer had not been placed yet and no more communication since then. My offer was not ridiculous or unreasonable, so I really don't get it. This just doesn't seem like good customer service to me.

I'm in the process of buying through Fidelity right now. Offer was made by verbal communication. Everything else was via email. Everything was good until after ROFR and now everything is taking forever and communication sucks to be blunt!! It would have to be a really good deal in order for me to use them again!

We are waiting for closing documents from Fidelity. Things seem to be going along in a timely fashion. I have to admit that I feel that communication has been lacking. One thing that made me nervous was when they sent the contract for us to sign the UY was WRONG and the # of points was WRONG!!! :scared1: It didn't instill a whole lot of confidence at the time. At least we have the e-mails to back us up.

I know they are VERY busy but they do seem to know their stuff. Just sit back and let them do their work.

Closing documents were received today!!!!!

Speaking of stupid clerical errors on Fidelity's part... They got my husband's name wrong on the contract! Duh...

i've been very happy thus far with TTS - I worked through Jamie Carr. Both phone calls and emails have been very promptly returned. The offer was immediately presented, and Jamie kept me up to date, telling me that she hadn't gotten a return phone call from the seller, and then telling me she had heard from them and they were thinking about it. Contracts were very prompt too.

I am not happy with Rachel from Fidelity. Sh called me about a small contract becoming available at OKW. I made an immediate verbal offer and she promised to call me when she heard back from the sellers. I called again 2 days later to check in, sh apologized for being shorthanded and promised to get back to me later in the day after she reached out to the sellers again.....that was 2 weeks ago and no further communication was made! :confused3

I don't think I will try to buy through them again!

Bought and sold through Timeshare Store I felt very comfortable, great communication, always got back to me, at ease and felt no pressure with them. Bought 1 contract through Fidelity but made offers on 3 contracts thru them and communication was just not that good. Part of the problem was the sellers and I was okay with that but the agent was not relaying/getting back to me as to the status and that was a bit frustrating.

We bought from TSS. Scott was great about getting back to us, and on his day off they had someone designated to handle anything related to us (Jamie, I think?). This was handy later in closing when we had some issues with the title company not putting our paperwork through they were on it. Since we had just bought a house the year prior, I was happy to have another realtor hold my hand and stay in contact.

Should I have an agent ahead of time while I am searching for a resale contract or just when I find the contract they will assign me someone?

I'm pretty sure you can actually request an agent. You just have to figure out which agency to use. I've heard good things about all the agents mentioned on this thread, despite the negative comments.

We've bought and sold twice each with the Timeshare Store (sponsors of the DVC forums) and have been very impressed by their responsiveness and professionalism.

We also bought direct once, and the Timeshare store folks were more knowledgeable, responsive, and professional than my clueless (and longtime) DVC timeshare saleswoman.

We also listed a contract once with another broker. They were nice, but it usually took them a couple of days to respond to any inquiry and we had no luck selling through them.

I'm midway through the purchase process and have been very happy with Scot at TTS - good communications with accurate info, and a nice team effort seems to be going on in the background when it's his day off. I'm purchasing from overseas, and communication is very important to me!

I'm buying through Fidelity and while the first steps where very fast, not it's dragging forever. I passed ROFR 2 weeks ago and I've not received the closing documents yet. I've asked for news yesterday but not yet had an answer.

I sent our closing docs yesterday. Spent big $ to overnight. Asked Title Co to PLEASE let me know when they got them and if all was in order. Have heard nothing. :headache: Should have sent it regular priority but it MIGHT have gotten there Saturday.

similar experience here...offered verbally...2 days later got an email that the points offered were not available...the sellers had used them from 2011 & 2012!!! how could they not know that??? didn't give me much faith in them from the beginning...

Just completed a purchase through the Timeshare Store. They were excellent in communication throughout the process. Everything that was their responsibility went quickly and smoothly. Definitely recommend them.

Some posts have been removed.

Just a reminder that making businesses and or words in the DISBoard filter recognizable or discussing a business that is in the filter is considered a board filter violation.

Thanks.

Also used Scott from TSS. He was very helpful and we had no problems with anything during the whole process of buying resale. We needed something very specific in order for it to work for us and we signed up for the TSS newsletter with new listings. We also told Scott what we wanted and he would call us if something came up between when the newsletters went out.

There has not been much mention of ******** or DVCbyResale. Has anyone used either one of these lately? Also, the one that starts with DVC has more smaller listings, but it seems like it is a one woman show. Any experiences you would be willing to share?

Thanks! :thumbsup2

EDIT NOTE: The first reseller was in our filter, and has been replaced by ******* the second reseller named is not in our filter, and I corrected the name and removed the *** that the poster had inserted. - Chuck S

New Owners through resale here. TTS was wonderful and would highly recommend them. Response time was quick anytime I had a question. For a first timer that jumped in they were great! Magic Title Vacation was great also!

Chuck - I apologize for the violation, I thought I could get around it by using the ***'s. Would it be ok, if I use half their name? If not, please feel free to edit again. Sorry in advance for any troubles...:guilty:

So has anyone had any experience with the people who's name starts with ****. They sound like a pretty good outfit, but I haven't heard them mentioned here much. I am also still interested if anyone had used DVCbyResale.

Thanks again!

Would it be ok, if I use half their name? If not, please feel free to edit again.

According to our DISBoard guidelines, creative spellings and other attempts to make words in our filter system recognizable will result in an infraction.

Simply type out the actual address of the websites. If that particular website is in our filter, it will be auto-replaced with *****.

Thanks.

Chuck - My apologies again for being difficult.

It appears that won't work either. So if anyone has had any experience with DVCbyResale or the firm that has the similar name, please share. Thanks!

Thanks!

Lots of happy customers of "He who shall not be named on the Dis" both here on these boards and on another set of boards. I made my first offer through him and he was great! The deal didn't materialize, but I wouldn't hesitate to use him again.

we used The timesare store to buy resale and things went GReat! Made bid by phone hour later heard back bid approved, an hour later we had our contract emailed to us. Most communication was by email, if I had question I emailed it and usually within an hour or two I had an answer. No complaints. worried that it went so smooth I might buy again!:)
