How many DISers did you know BEFORE last year's DISCON???

I had met some of my fellow moderators at WDW the May before DISCON and I met Taryn and Snowwark at the DIS meet at Niagara Falls in August before DISCON, but that's all.

The neat thing about DISCON for me was meeting new people. The interesting part was that I felt as though I'd known these people forever when I was just meeting them for the first time.

The magic of DISCON, huh? I can't wait to meet new friends at DISCON 2002 :teeth:

Before DIS CON, quite a lot...from DIS Meets and of course the Cheerleader meet at the Swan/Dolphin the previous July :)

OMGoodness, Kath, a lot. Probably several hundred. Some only once at a meet, some many times over. Good question. :)

to say, one:( , but that's ok, because now I get to put faces to the names. It was Figgy, the Pin Trader/Collector. We met at DL last year at the Diz Pals Weekend in the Park. If any of the other Diz Pals are also Dissers, then maybe I have met them, but I don't think so. I don't even know how many Dissers are in AZ, I have seen one other person with AZ in their side bar.

Before last year's DISCON, I'd never met anyone face to face. Boy, has that changed! :teeth:

Did you meet SSB before DISCON, Patrick? I met SSB and Dan in May. I didn't meet Pandy or Steve until DISCON though. That was when I met you too :)

I met SSB back in May of 01, we did a day at AK together during our first trip down. :) First Diser I actually met was NancyIL, we met up for lunch on the way down to visit my son at school. Next was the Chicago group. :)

I wasn't officially at DISCON last year but I was there the first day so I'm going to answer this question. :) I knew 4 DISers before. Just in that one day I met 6 more and talked to 2 on the phone. :)

I can't wait to see how many more I meet this year. :)

I had only met a few DISers but none of them were at DIS CON last year....but.... I am looking forward to seeing everyone I know now from last year and from the meets I've been to this year.....it's going to be a blast Kath! See ya there!

We had a St. Louis DIS meet in August, 2000 where I met: Wheelsie, Becka and DH, FriskyKitten and family, RafikiRafikiRafiki and family and ???

AHEM, Kath, you met Kevin and I last May, 2001 also!! :D
In addition to Kath, we met Marsha, Dan, JayPD, and several others who I DO know the names of, but I'm having a senior moment!!!! :p :p

I also met a lot of the Chicago area DISers at my first Chicago area meet in August, 2001:PatrickIL and Ellen, NancyIL, Dopeygirl, KimRaye and family, December99 and family, Brisully, Crissup, and ???

I feel so bad that I can't think of the names of the others! :( I see the faces in my mind, but I'm terrible with names!!!:p :p :p

We had only found the DIS about 2 weeks before Dis Con and had no idea it was even going on. But we were there at the same time and invited ourselves to Dan Murphy's MK tour for Princess Michelle on her birthday (since mine was the very next day). It was so neat meeting Dan and Michelle and Pandy Paws (Donna) and her DS! We had no idea that we would be so welcomed--especially after inviting ourselves along (mom would have SO disapproved)! Now we know what a wonderful family we have become a part of and can't wait to meet and put a face to so many of the great people we have met here!! See you in 3 weeks!!!!!!!

to DISCON last year. The only Dis'rs I know are the ones that came to the DL mini meet this year, I'm looking forward to meeting all of you. Heck I haven't met my roomate for DISCONII yet (face-to-face).

This is a great thread, Katholyn.

I had my first DIS meet in Atlanta, and it was the first time that I ever met anyone face to face.

I met Robinrs & her DS, and ead79, and lowellsdad, and kermit & her DH, and Olena & her DH, and ?Debbie(sorry), and ?1967 with her DH & DG(sorry).

Then my next DIS meet at WDW at MK and EPCOT's Canadian restaurant with Dan Murphy, Olena & DH, UncleKyle, Beauty & DS, DM, DH, and PandyPaws, and BobBrazil, and catsrule & DH, and Tennessee?(sorry), and several others, but I'm having a hard time remembering them since I haven't talked to them in such a long time(sorry).

After DIS-Con-I last year, I didn't get to meet everyone at DIS-Con-I, much less those that just happened to be visiting WDW.

So last February, I started a list of allthose that said that they were going to be at WDW this year during DIS-Con-II, whether or not they are at paid events or not...lol

Now...I'll print out this list and try and meet everyone.

No one has posted any names or updates for over a month, but I sure would like to add everyone.

I had met Kath and husband, Jaypd and Stacey and of course Zachary, SSB, Carol and her daughters, I also met Perfect Match way before DisCon...I have met Bet and CC, Snoopy, I am sure there are others, I am just not remembering everyone this am..., Nursekim, Alex, Beanie, and others at a Boston Dis Meet.. no Eros though. I cruised with Patinmn and Roger.. that was a blast.. so I have met quite a few Disers before DisCon1.. and then of course met a whole bunch more then..

I had met quite a few DIS'ers at DIS meets in Philly over the years, but a lot of them didn't come to DIS-CON. I'd say I knew about 10 people already when DIS-CON I started.
This year will be amazing! I know so many and can't wait to meet the ones I have come to "know and love" over this past year here on the boards. :) :)
