Our flight got changed and instead of our nice 1pm flight, we are bumped to 4:40pm - grrr. Anyway -where can we kill time in Long Beach for the day WITH luggage in tow?? Any great ideas for us? I really don't want to sit in the airport for 6 hours!

There is really NOWHERE that would make it easy to look around with your luggage.
One idea would be to rent a car. Then you could go see the Queen Mary, or the Aquarium, and leave the luggage in the car.

The only other thing I can think of is to call some area hotels and see if they have a "day rate" for use of a room and their pool for a few hours.

you have to rent a car. We just got back from our vacation (TR here! (http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2878796))
Our flight from LGB was at 5.45pm, and we disembarked by 10.30am. With the many hours to kill, we rented a car from Enterprise (they pick up from the port), the one way rental from San Pedro to LGB was a little expensive, but it was worth it, we got to spend a day visiting our fav coffee place in LA (Intelligentsia Coffee) and also had a good lunch at the crab shack in Redondo Beach. We even had an hour to do some shopping!

if you don't rent a car, there is absolutely NOTHING to do in LGB, and the airport is tiny, so waiting there for many hours will not be fun.

Hey Lollipop's Mom!

Spending another week with the Wonder? Yay for you! We did MR a few months back and of course, loved our week onboard! (We had a hurricane change our complete itinerary, but still got to Cabo with was all the mattered to us so it was a great week onboard.)

Long Beach is a great town and there are parts of it that are amazing. There are lots of surrounding areas that are fantastic. However, long Beach airport is so small you are going to be amazed. It is super easy to get in and out of any day of the week. However, where we found ways to kill many hours in YVR, you might go stir-crazy killing too much time at LGB. It's just a tiny airport.

Southern California is definitely not an easy area to get around without a car, although it is doable. However, adding in luggage, you will need a car. You could rent one as suggested above and then have all sorts of options. Belmont Shore is a great fun area about 10-15 minutes from LGB where you could park the car and walk around shops and restaurants, drive a few blocks further to the beach and enjoy. There's also the Aquarium and the Queen Mary as the PP mentioned. All of these are options that keep you in the general area, not dealing with LA traffic. The list goes on and on, but with the luggage, you are going to want a car. If that's the route you decide to go, post here along with what types of activities might interest you and I can offer a variety of ideas.

If you have a car, you could also venture to the Disneyland Resort and enjoy Downtown Disney and / or checking out the hotels if you want some more Disney before heading home.

Just a few ideas,

You might want to look at renting a car for the whole time through hotwire. I got one for 8 days ( but LAX) $100 taxes in and parking at the port is $84, so that came out to less then 2,1 way rentals and the car is right at the port.
