View Full Version : Please Spare A Thought For My Hubby & His Family **UPDATE on Pg 2**

My hubby’s family are having a really hard time at the moment. His Grandma, who has been in a nursing home following a server stroke for over eight years, is seriously ill. For the last month she hasn’t even been able to swallow so she is on a drip constantly. She can not talk or move in anyway, she just lye’s there getting frailer and smaller by the day. The nursing staff doesn’t think that she has long left, and none of us want her to suffer in anyway. It’s just so hard trying to prepare for the inevitable.

We lost hubby’s other Grandma in June, it was such a shock it that rocked the whole family. We still haven’t got over that really and now this :(

Please spare a thought for my lovely in-laws during this terrible time.

I know how hard it is to watch someone you love suffering. I hope they can continue to keep her comfortable.

My thoughts and prayers are with your family at this most trying of times.

We lost our DGM 2 days after thanksgiving, and although it is hard to lose a loved one at anytime the time around the holidays does seen more difficult.

Thank you all for your endless support, i dont know what i would of done without you.

Last night she had a funny turn, the doctors were rushed to her bedside and they told us to say our goodbyes as the end of her suffering was very near, her pulse was extremley weak and her breathing was strained. It was horrible to watch my in-laws in pieces saying their I love you's and goodbye's, totally heartbreaking. But she made it though the night and has been breathing a little easier ever since. Her body however seems to be drying out if you know what i mean. They still think that she wont last another week, but she seems so strong willed, she's a fighter. I just hope that she leaves us peacefully. My in-laws are having a lot of problems coping with all this, i just want it to be over for them, everybody has suffered enough.

Hubby's Nan passed away peacefully yesterday afternoon. She had all her family around her.

{{hugs}} Emma. I just lost my maternal grandparents within the past 2 years, and its so tough. They were the last link to my childhood. :(
