At WDW!

Join in as I retell our latest trip…

The When: January 15-19, 2012

The Where: Bay Lake Tower DVC

The Who: The Mouse Scrapper Family

http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Kids%20trip%20Jan%2012/DSCN1318.jpg

Me Julie (37) Disney Mom and Planner

http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Kids%20trip%20Jan%2012/DSCN1790.jpg

This was my 11th time to WDW and 5th time with our family. WDW truly has become our home away from home, especially since we bought DVC at our home resort of BLT. I love that we can do our favorites like PPF or do something we haven’t in awhile like going on Tom Sawyer’s Island. There is always something new to see or do like trying to treats or seeing new characters…

Matt (38) Disney Dad

http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Kids%20trip%20Jan%2012/IMG_4035.jpg

This was his 10th time to WDW. For awhile we weren’t even sure if he was going to be able to go on this trip after an unexpected 2nd spinal fusion surgery in November ’11. So glad he was there and have fun as a family.

Rebekah & Nathan (12) Disney twins

http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Kids%20trip%20Jan%2012/DSCN1699.jpg

This was their 5th time to WDW and they love it just as much as their parents. Nathan loves pin trading and going on POC. Bekah loves talking with characters and CM’s and exploring the stores.

Rachel (9) Disney girl

http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Kids%20trip%20Jan%2012/DSCN1984.jpg

This was her 5th trip to WDW and she can’t wait to go back! She enjoys dressing up and meeting the characters and got over a few ride fears this trip.

Naomi-Ruth (5) Disney Princess

http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Kids%20trip%20Jan%2012/IMG_3884.jpg

This was her 4th trip to WDW and she almost knows her way around MK like a pro…she enjoyed pin trading and starting a pressed penny collection this trip. She cracked us up with her singing and just enjoying herself so much.

Up NEXT: the souvies…why not start out with the most fun part of going…the loot you come home with…

the Souvie Post:

Our souvie budget was small this time, but that’s OK, we still came home w/ some nice items! Each child had some money from Mom and Dad to spend, plus a coupon for a Trading pin, and a gift card from their Grandma.

Here’s a picture of everything together:
http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Kids%20trip%20Jan%2012/DSCN2130.jpg

One word about Disney shopping = LOVE!

I love shopping here, better than even Target I always seem to come home w/ another tote bag and we always pick out a new frame to put the trip’s best picture in to add to our collection. Pins are a new usual and the kids have some growing collections of items. I am not surprised a few new shirts were purchased and we came home w/ a new plush friend or two….

I am very happy w/ myself and the kids for sticking to a small budget and reward souvies this time and equally happy w/ what each came home with. Let’s take a closer look:

For Naomi-Ruth:
http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Kids%20trip%20Jan%2012/DSCN2132.jpg

She did come home w/ the most quantity (can I help it there are so many cute things for little girls). From left to right: she got a the Minnie Mouse “polly pocket” set (just one Minnie is shown) from Mama and Daddy ($14.95), a tink trading (well really keeper) pin (green $6.95), a pressed penny book ($7.95), a tink straw cup ($8.95), a tin of Minnie mints ($1.95) and a Belle jewelry set ($16.95)

With her gift card she bought all by herself:
http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Kids%20trip%20Jan%2012/DSCN1691.jpg

http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Kids%20trip%20Jan%2012/DSCN1692.jpg

The Princess Minnie Plush ($14.95)

For Rachel:
http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Kids%20trip%20Jan%2012/DSCN2131.jpg

She got a new Tink shirt ($24.95) I bought it large so it will fit for a few years, and she started a clip on charm bracelet with 3 charms all from Mama and Daddy. The link bracelet is $6.95 and each charm is $3.95. I told her I will bring her back some new charms when I am down there in October again.

With her gift card she picked out a cute necklace w/ her name on it and it has a Mickey on it too $9.95 Her keeper pin choice was Elvis Stitch (green $6.95)

For Nathan:
http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Kids%20trip%20Jan%2012/DSCN2134.jpg

His items are in the front: he got from Mama and Dad a Muppet Star Wars figure set (to go w/ another set he already has) $19.95, and a standing Bullseye Plush (to add to his Toy Story collection) $12.95 He bought w/ his gift card 2 Parks themed Vinymation, he got the Muppet balloon from MV3D and a green dragon guy from the old World of Motion ($12.95 each). His keeper pin is a Roger Rabbit (green $6.95)

Rebekah’s items are in the picture above too, although you can’t see everything real well…

She made the Simba mask for free at BLT’s community Hall and we purchased for her the Tink bisque box for her to paint and have done from there as well ($16.20 that’s w/ a 10% DVC discount)

http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Kids%20trip%20Jan%2012/DSCN2135.jpg
I think she did a wonderful job!

She also got from us a new hat, it’s the black/white checked cap and it is has a sequin Mickey head on the back, you’ll see it in pictures later.
($22.95) Her keeper pin is a Mary Poppins one. Not shown is the items she bought w/ her g/c…one you’ll have to wait and see later in the TR and the other is a cool chain, w/ a purple hear locket w/ a key w/ a Mickey on it. The chain cost $11.95.

For Matt and I:
http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Kids%20trip%20Jan%2012/DSCN2137.jpg

We picked out a new wooden Mickey frame to add to our collection, waiting to get my PP pictures to put the BEST one in there…it might be hard to choose. ($17.95). We picked out these cool rubber Mickey coasters for our living room ($6.95), Matt picked out the mug w/ the 40th anniversary design on it ($10.95). I got an appropriate DIS green Mickey towel for the kitchen ($6.95)

The pin in the picture Matt picked out for us (isn’t he sweet):
http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Kids%20trip%20Jan%2012/DSCN2136.jpg

And then I got a new Tink shirt ($29.95)
http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Kids%20trip%20Jan%2012/DSCN2139.jpg

Plus my latest bag which I think will be my new pool bag since it’s vinyl! This was one of the incentive purchases…not that I need an incentive to buy something LOL ($13.95)

http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Kids%20trip%20Jan%2012/DSCN2138.jpg

I also bought myself a necklace chain and 4 charms. 3 of the charms came in a set and the Tink one was separate (necklace %5.95, 3 pack $12.95, character charm $4.95):
http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Kids%20trip%20Jan%2012/DSCN2172.jpg

http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Kids%20trip%20Jan%2012/DSCN2171.jpg

The other things we bought are not pictured as they were eaten or given as thank you gifts. We got my BIL a package of coffee for driving us to and from the airport ($12.95), a blue retro Epcot shot glass ($7.95) as a thank you to my brother for dealing w/ misc house things for us.

I bought a cute pink baby Minnie rattle for our niece who will be expecting a girl later this summer ($7.95) I always buy my Mom something. This time I got her a fleece castle throw ($17.95), a silver Sorcerer hat pin (green $6.95), and a tin of Mickey mints ($1.95).

We lastly bought some candy and treats some of which you saw in the main picture. We also purchased the photo OOP from our O’Hana breakfast ($31.90 w/ tax) Plus we had to just buy some of those ponchos….

So all in all are grand total of souvie shopping was : $553.03 please KIM…this total is w/ tax and the prices I listed by the items are before tax…

I hope you enjoyed seeing what we got…so while we are on the subject of money and budget…later on it the TR I will take a moment and share w/ you all how our experience of dinning OOP went! popcorn::

Up NEXT: Day1) are we there yet?

Thanks for reading, J~

Wow -- awesome souvies!!

This trip we had bought Disney gift cards ahead of time and gave them out to everyone to spend, too. It worked out great and was neat to see Rachel make responsible choices!

However, I went over my budget!;) but they actually had 3 shirts I really loved this time ... and with the AP 10% off discount, everything was just a better bargain ;););):lmao:

I can't wait to see the "secret" souvie and see which photo you pick for your favorite. FYI I'm still working on my photos...not even 1/2 way done so it's a really good thing I did the PP separately this time.

Love the necklaces and bracelet with charms on them. What a great idea to add to your collection over the years.:thumbsup2

Day 1) Sunday January 15th
Travel Day…

The plan of the day was for Matt and me to get up first, be ready and then start getting the kids up to head out for the airport no later than 5 am. I woke up before my alarm; I don't recall sleeping that well, but oh well. I got up about 3:20 am and Matt got up after me, we both got cleaned up and then started getting the kids up...they were excited and getting a bit loud...but we managed getting out the door right on time at 5 am...as I was double cking that Matt had his phone and wallet, we realized Bekah didn't have her phone, luckily we had just pulled out of the drive.

We made great time to my sisters and my BIL was waiting for us at 5:45 am. He took over driving and got us quickly to the airport, he brought us in the parking garage, he used his work id to bypass the fee. We were able to get out and go up into the arrival area inside, instead of needing to stand in the frigid cold.

We thanked him for the drive and made our way over to the ticket check area. I prefer doing it outside, since it's a bit quicker, but hey I saved 10 dollars by not needing to tip anyone...

We got thru security with no real issues, except I forgot to take the hand sanitizer out of Matt's bag, so they had to run that thru two times. They even sent us over out of the way so we didn't feel rushed. Also none of the kids had to take off their shoes so that was very helpful.

At our gate, I thought I recognized someone from our church, and then his wife came up and sure enough I knew them. We chatted quickly as they were heading to WDW as well and staying at OKW. We also met a family, who was going down for their first trip, and we chatted briefly and I noticed they had a DME tag on a backpack that said Poly so I told them about some of the fun stuff there.

I had packed our usual airport breakfast of muffins and some fruit and Matt got us drinks (6 drinks and $16.70 later) we noshed on that and the kids looked out the windows, played on their DSI’s and chatted. We did a few restroom runs before it was time to board.

Boarding went well w/ Matt able to do the pre board w/ Nathan and then luck had they let me board w/ the girls after group A went and Matt was able to get us two rows so we didn't need to fend for seats. That was lucky... I sat w/ Naomi-Ruth and Rebekah, while Matt had Nathan and Rachel in front of us.

I think the flight took off on time, it seemed to take awhile to leave the gate, but the pilot still said we should arrive a bit early.

All the kids behaved well, playing on DSI’s NR was a bit antsy and talkative, but behaving well. She kept asking “are we there yet?”

As we were landing, the plane circled around And we got to see SSE. Sorry no pictures, but believe me, it was cool, I think it was the second or third time we have gotten to see it as we are landing. It took a few minutes for NR to figure it out…I’m like “see the ball on the horizon?” And Bekah says to me “Mom she doesn’t know what a horizon is”

Hard to tell in the picture, but she is showing her plush Ariel, Disney…
http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Kids%20trip%20Jan%2012/IMG_3835.jpg

We got into Orlando 25 min early and made it quickly off the plane, just had to wait for the stroller, and we took a quick restroom stop and then took the mini monorail

We pulled out at 11:51 am

We sat on the bus for a few minutes before pulling out and why do always choose to sit in the middle where I can’t get a good shot of the sign

Some family sat down in front of Nathan and he asked the boy "how many times he'd been here" he said this was his first time...Nathan said “well I'm a pro, I have been here 5 times" LOL

So excited to be back!!!

Nathan has a thing for gnomes, I really have no idea how this obsession started but he has a growing collection. For Christmas in his stocking I bought him a travel size gnome (Bekah actually found it at the book store) he was ready for his first Disney adventure too:
http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Kids%20trip%20Jan%2012/IMG_3848.jpg

Watching the video (they really need to update this again)
http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Kids%20trip%20Jan%2012/IMG_3850.jpg

After 3 stops to the Poly, GF and WL we finally made it over to the CR at 12:50pm. (No we didn’t abandon the bus at the Poly like Matt and I did back in Oct) We got off the bus and were greeted y the hostesses outside and they took us inside to the online check in area. Check in took a little while, w/ a big group in front of us...but the kids got right to pin trading and NR made a quick friend w/ a CM trading and got a magic moment card plus a sticker from a diff CM.
http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Kids%20trip%20Jan%2012/DSCN2186.jpg

While I got things sorted out, the kids watched some cartoons:
http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Kids%20trip%20Jan%2012/IMG_3854.jpg

We got a room that was ready, which was nice. I knew right away we’d be overlooking the lake by the odd numbered room, was bummed we weren’t too high, but was happy to have a ready room.

So we headed on over and had a nice room identical to our 2010 stay but on the 4th floor overlooking the back courtyard and pool.

I snagged a picture of the kids outside our room before going in:
http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Kids%20trip%20Jan%2012/IMG_3855.jpg

A Mousekeeper was going by and offered to take a group picture, I thought that was nice, too bad Bekah blinked:
http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Kids%20trip%20Jan%2012/IMG_3856.jpg

Sorry I took no inside shots other than a few later in the trip. This being our 3rd BLT stay, the allure of OMG look at our room, has transitioned to: we are “home” and kick off your shoes and relax feeling…that’s a great thing, I might add.

We just love staying here and having all this space to spread out in. I do have a couple evening and early morning view shots that were taken a few days later:

Yes we got to see the Electric Water Pageant most evenings yet again…I love hearing that music and standing out on the balcony in your pjs w/ a ton of other guests too, it’s like Disney slumber party w/ entertainment…hey that IS what it is…hahaha

If you want to see what a 2 BR villa at BLT looks like you can click on the links below that will take you to a post from our 2010 TR when we stayed in one the last time:

Link # 2 http://www.disboards.com/showpost.php?p=39171406&postcount=41

After the pictures in link two I tell a little more about our overall stay at BLT…and then some other TR stuff from a rough moment of the trip…so you don’t need to read that

After a brief potty break and organizing ourselves to head out we got ready for our first park of the trip, some time at the Magic Kingdom!

Stay tuned…

Love your travel day post. How nice of BIL to drive you and hooray for flight landing early. And how great you didn't have to wait long for the ME to take off. Our son just arrived in Orlando today to spend some time with his girlfriend who is down there with her family; he's at BLT and took ME. He got off at the Polynesian and took the monorail to the CR...all on his own without anyone telling him it would be shorter.

Love the photos of the water parade (since we've not stayed at the Poly in seven years, we've missed it all those years).

Day 1) Cont. First Park of the trip MK

We arrived at MK just before 2 pm I believe and first thing was a stop at Guest services to obtain an updated Guest Assistance card for Nathan.

Nathan and Rebekah are both Autistic, but very different.

Different diagnosis, different struggles, issues and challenges in their daily lives and needs and when we do Disney. But thankfully overall, Nathan does quite well here at WDW and we are equally lucky that Disney accommodates him so well w/ the GAC. We do our very best to try and tour in the off times and hit rides w/ not long waits, but as you know it’s almost not completely avoidable. For Nathan dealing w/ sensory struggles w/ Aspergers, the crowds, confined queue areas make him anxious and frustrated. We use the GAC as insurance to get us in quicker so we can enjoy the ride and have a good time. Flexibility is key…he may see a 10 minute wait posted and immediately start worrying, but he uses coping strategies to manage some of the shorter waits.

We come back to Disney year after year because we CAN do this as a family and we love it!

As Matt and the girls waited, they played follow the leader around a tree:
http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Kids%20trip%20Jan%2012/DSCN1099.jpg

http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Kids%20trip%20Jan%2012/DSCN1100.jpg

http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Kids%20trip%20Jan%2012/DSCN1101.jpg

It was crowded, but we managed to make our way up MS to Liberty Square and convinced the little girls to go on the HM...it was mighty packed over there and a bit of a squeeze fest getting onto the ride.

Of course Nathan was panicking because the GAC led us to the almost end of the queue before entering the Mansion, unlike previous times we have gone in through the Servants Quarters, Rachel and Naomi-Ruth were getting equally nervous “I don’t want to go” “I’m scared”…we assured them we’d never take them on anything that really was that scary, it’s all pretend and the ghosts are having a party and they invited us…”don’t be scared it’s just the haunted mansion” yeah that’s sounds convincing LOL

The last trip we didn’t make it on all together and had to split up, we were determined to get Rachel over her irrational fear of this ride, you loved it before, we reminded her… Luckily we managed getting through the fears and crowds and had a good time.

Rachel wasn’t too sure but she seemed to like it…we’ll see we’ll try again for another group ride when it’s not so crowded so we can go through the new cemetery queue…

NR was a little more ease as she sat on my lap during the ride and I talked her through the whole ride…

Now that we survived that it was time to EAT! We were HUNGRY!

We went to lunch at CHH, we had some confusion w/ ordering but had a good meal. Before we went on the trip, I went through all the menus of the places we planned to eat at so I could form our budget and then made ordering notes on our tour cards. Apparently the fluster of getting the first meal and not doing our usual plan of Matt sit w/ 3 kids and Bekah stays w/ me to order we all ended up at the ordering queue (it kind of bugs me they do that now and wont let you grab a table first) But we got it sorted out.

This would be our most expensive QS meal of the trip, since I ordered 6 meals and 4 adult drinks too.
http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Kids%20trip%20Jan%2012/IMG_3859.jpg

I tried the new peppercorn salad it was pretty good. I really thought the huge pieces of fresh crisp broccoli were a nice touch and the chicken was nto breaded, made for an actual healthy choice. On a side note, they no longer have the individual salad dressing packets out at the condiment bar…

http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Kids%20trip%20Jan%2012/IMG_3858.jpg

We ordered NR the allergy free tenderloins which actually held up our whole order which I thought was odd. Made note to myself to order separately next time. But luckily after the drinks came and Bekah and I brought those upstairs to find the table, I only had to wait a little bit longer.

I was glad that she ate almost all of them and ate her sides too! I was able to have it charged as a kid meal for the sides/drink combo so that worked out nice.

http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Kids%20trip%20Jan%2012/IMG_3860.jpg

Rachel had the kid meal mac and cheese which would be a common meal for her this trip, good thing she likes Disney mac and cheese and it was just enough for her w/ the sides.

We shared some fries around the table and Matt and Bekah got chicken strips and Nathan had a fish basket meal, which he noted “um why is this called a fish basket if it comes on a plate?” LOL

Nathan’s traveling gnome got into our first Disney meal of the trip too:
http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Kids%20trip%20Jan%2012/IMG_3861.jpg

On the way out we stopped to say hello to the bell ringer, what a fun job huh?

http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Kids%20trip%20Jan%2012/IMG_3864.jpg

We now headed over to PPF and it was getting busy and very crowded bck here, w/ the stroller parking out in front of IASW the walkway here was very congested, I was very glad we didn’t have NR’s stroller at this point so we didn’t need to deal w/ that!

Matt snagged this awesome photo of my and the lil girls:

We next cut across the crowds to IASW and made a minor mistake in remembering where we could enter w/ the GAC but got it figured out. We had a bit of a wait so had an opportunity to take a few photos:

I looked for that action sign in the window by PVH like Matt and I saw in Oct. but it wasn’t there, weird? Onto the ride, we totally love this ride and get into all the scenes, dancing, singing ducking from the egg throwing platypuses and me getting freaked by those weird corn silk people in the Latin America scene w/ the red yes or and don’t get me started on the freaking clown in the white scene HAHA

We were going to ride the Carrousel, but it was pretty full and we decided we didn’t want to deal w/ the line/wait. I made a note that it felt very crowded and full and Nathan was having a bit of trouble, so we kept on moving. But first we stopped by the Sword in the Stone for some photo ops:

I’m not completely positive what we did when we got back to the room, but I know we called up for our groceries and our suitcases were in the room so I got busy organizing and putting things away for our stay. We prepped the pull out chair bed for Nathan and matt helped make dinner. The kids looked at their pins and watched some tv while resting a bit too. Here are some pictures from our first meal in the villa, we had hamburger helper w/ salad:

Sounds like you had a full day! Smart about the pins, I didn't realize how much my niece would like doing this! She spent a bunch of her money on pins.

Great update! Sounds like a nice day at MK! Your children are growing up so much, they're really stretching! Love that pic of the twins, they definitely look a lot alike, but it's the identical expressions, too cute.

Sounds like you guys had a great MK day!! I guess calling it the Haunted Mansion really isn't the most comforting title.. How about that house over there...that happens to have ghosts! :thumbsup2 ;)

Your lunch at CHH looks great! I keep meaning to go there, but I always forget! :headache:

Great way to start the trip! Sorry to hear it was so crowded (we go this week in 2013...our week after yours wasn't crowded at all!)

Glad to hear Rachel conquered HM.

Loved seeing your IASW photos...felt like I was right back there. Also, loved how you take pictures of your family on the rides. Makes great scrapbook pages!!

I think the photo of your family in front of the Castle is excellent (FYI, I just finished going through all of my photos last night...just proofing them and will send away to Disney!)

The new PP borders are really cute!

Aaah, the utter convenience of walking back from MK to BLT :cloud9:

My kids love to trade pins too. I had no idea how much they would like it so I only bought about 8 per kid for our last trip. Those didn't last long! Next time I will definitely bring more to start.

we were thanks...

no stupid Q's here ;)

so I think the magic moment cards are left over from the previpous years promo's "What are you celebrating?" campaign...we have gotten a few over the past trips...like once our oldest DD was picked to help open an ice cream cart at AK and recieved a card then...I think it's up to the CM discretion...it's a cute touch, too bad more don't do them...

Day 1) continued…

So I made an awful rookie mistake :headache:…I had found out before we left that the park hours had been extended to midnight w/ the EMH extended till 3 am. I had kept watching and checking to see if the parade and Wishes schedule would change to fit w/ the time change or if new shows would be added. It still had appeared before we left they had not added anything.

We knew this would be our only night to see the MSEP if we wanted to since it was NOT scheduled for later in our trip when we’d be back at MK for the night (Keep that in mind for later) I had decided prior to leaving we’d just play in by “mouse-ear” whether or not we’d try to get back into the park prior to that or not. We had assumed we’d miss Wishes all-together for the first night.

Well as we were arriving to WDW via the DME the bus driver was telling us how late MK would be open and the times for the parade and Wishes…well I was thrilled thinking they had added an extra showing or pushed the times back and now we could see Wishes twice this trip (it really is my MOST favorite thing)…but like a silly fool did I look up this information to confirm the time changes

Uh, no…

We got back into the park about 8:20 pm…as we were walking up I could hear music and fireworks, I am frantically pulling up Lines on my phone to see what is going on, hoping well maybe it’s just the Memories show and not actually Wishes…but ugh I was so wrong…we entered the park just as Wishes was ending and got packed in like Sardines. I had never seen Main Street so crowded :crowded:…one time Matt and I back in 08 went to an eve EMH by ourselves here and had some trouble making our way up MS…but that was easy compared to this.
I had Nathan and Rachel and Matt had NR in the stroller and Bekah, we determined where we wanted to head to and said if we got separated we’d just meet up there…let me say it was HORRIBLE!

I held on tight to the kids and kept reassuring Nathan he was doing a good job and we’d get through this and it would be ok…I was surprisingly quite calm and Nathan (and Rachel) did wonderfully as we squeezed basically inch by inch in a sea of people up toward the hub…I have no idea how long it took but we got through that mess and made it over to Adventureland unscathed.

Whew!

We wanted to go on POC first, but I was nervous w/ the crowds we’d miss getting a good spot for the parade, so I stayed behind in LS near the stocks w/ NR and the stroller while Matt took the other three on the ride.

We took these pictures of the girls first though…Bekah looks like she really is in trouble haha

http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Kids%20trip%20Jan%2012/DSCN1164.jpg

Matt snapped a few quick pictures on POC too:
http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Kids%20trip%20Jan%2012/DSCN1165.jpg
Ummm they look thrilled

And here’s Nathan’s favorite Pirate on the ride Bill w/ the cats…yes he really does have a name.
http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Kids%20trip%20Jan%2012/DSCN1166.jpg

On a side note after the trip, Nathan had an appointment w/ his psychologist and talked about the trip a bit first and how many times he went on POC (his favorite ride) and then proceed in a 5 min monologue describing the whole ride scene by scene…[smiles]

While waiting for them to return the CM’s starting setting up the parade route and people will filling in. Then NR declared she had to go the washroom something fierce…ugh! I didn’t want to leave out spot nor could I wait. So I left the backpack on the stroller, picked up NR and made a mad dash to the LTT and into the washroom, of course there is like two stalls in there and a line and a little kid holding herself…AND someone talking on their cell in the stall…COME ON PEOPLE! Luckily the nice lady in front of me, let us cut…oh thank you!

We got back to our spot and had lost it, whew!

Though now I was getting nervous and tried texting Matt and Bekah to see what their ETA getting back to us would be as I was moving up to the rope and concerned I would not be able to hold all these spots. Luckily they arrived back at the last second.

Matt recalled something screwy happened, but I don’t remember what now and then the kids were telling me they got soaked! (I just read on Stringbean’s TR and she and her BF got soaked on this ride too) This wasn’t the only time some of us would get wet on this ride LOL

It was a cool evening a little chilly but not too bad, matt took a few pictures of the area before the parade came…

Sorry you all had to fight against the crowds for entry into MK. I imagine that was quite stressful but once you're in it there's nothing you can do but make your way, inch by inch.

Love that Nathan recites all of POC in therapy!!

I'm glad you posted MSEP photos! We missed the parade this trip since it was closed and it's nice seeing them again. MSEP is my ringtone!

We were surprised too, but getting wet on POC. Now we weren't soaked at all but we did get like a cup of water on us! It was a nice surprise! We were sitting in the 3rd row, right side. DH/DD6 were on same row left side and didn't get a drop.

More of Day (well actually Night) of day 1)

So I last left off with us getting ready to go on some rides after we finished watching the MSEP…We headed toward the Jungle Cruise and walked right on a boat (sweet)…

I think it is always fun riding this a night, it makes it that much more of that good ‘ol corn ball fun…but I think I may have “annoyed” our skipper w/ ruining a couple of the punch lines…whoops, can I help it [whistle]

The backside of water never get’s old

or how the Nile River goes on for niles, and niles, and niles….

We escaped the head hunting party to live to tell about it!

(thought I took some pictures but guess not?)

We decided to take a spin on Aladdin’s Carpets now too since there was hardly a wait for this either, Matt and NR didn’t join us but got a few pictures:

http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Kids%20trip%20Jan%2012/DSCN1218.jpg

http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Kids%20trip%20Jan%2012/DSCN1220.jpg

Of course Rachel was getting nervous we were going to tip over w/ the twins behind us controlling that part…but she was a brave girl (YAY! Rachel!)

We now decided to stop for a treat and what other treat would hit the spot on a cool chilly 40 some degree winter evening at the magic Kingdom?
Dole Whips but of course!

And hey NO line [haha] we got three whips mainly for the kids to share (Matt and I got some treats later) we got the pineapple floats, 1 pineapple, 1 vanilla, and 1 orange.

http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Kids%20trip%20Jan%2012/DSCN1222.jpg

http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Kids%20trip%20Jan%2012/DSCN1223.jpg

I have never sat in the little seating area over to side from the QS stand till this trip and there was only one other family sitting there. We had a fun break enjoying the treats and then the kids amused themselves for a bit:

http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Kids%20trip%20Jan%2012/DSCN1224.jpg

http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Kids%20trip%20Jan%2012/DSCN1229.jpg

As we were heading out, Rachel noticed the sign for the Fairies and we asked what the wait was and since it was under 20 decided to give it a go…Nathan was a bit annoyed he didn’t really want to meet them, but stuck w/ us and was amused by the little Fairy shorts they showed in the queue line. It wasn’t the quickest wait but the not the longest either and we warmed up a bit being inside. Soon it was our turn and we let Naomi-Ruth go up to the Fairies first:

http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Kids%20trip%20Jan%2012/Photo0098FourBySix.jpg

She was so sweet and really having fun w/ us, I even showed her my Tink pin (that Amy gave me) She tried to entice Nathan to come take a picture w/ us but no go…but this group picture is sweet:

We next cut across over to Tomorrowland for a few more rides…it was getting late at this point probably after 11 pm and several of us were starting to feel the day catch up to us after starting out before 5 am…but onward we went as it was nearly empty!

Buzz was up first! We paired up and got ready to fight Zurg…

Before leaving I of course took Nathan’s shot w/ Zurg in jail for his mini Disney timeline book:

http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Kids%20trip%20Jan%2012/IMG_3879.jpg

And then the girls wanted in on the act too:
http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Kids%20trip%20Jan%2012/IMG_3881.jpg

I crack up at their expressions [haha]

We now decided to finish our night w/ a spin on the Peoplemover. What a nice way to finish off our night. I think Dad and Bekah were ready for bed:

http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Kids%20trip%20Jan%2012/DSCN1251.jpg

Nathan’s travel gnome came out of hiding to check this ride out:
http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Kids%20trip%20Jan%2012/DSCN1247.jpg

And a few more pictures including Rachel’s picture for her timeline book:

As we started walking out I saw the PP guys out w/ no wait near the rose garden and persuaded everyone to stop for some pictures:

http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Kids%20trip%20Jan%2012/Photo0137FourBySix.jpg

I love how we had some fun w/ these shots w/ making Mickey ears and funny faces too…plus the castle changing colors have way through our shots:

We next stopped in front of the hub where Matt got this nighttime postcard shot:

http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Kids%20trip%20Jan%2012/DSCN1255.jpg

Earlier in the day NR was asking for a balloon, something I normally would never buy, but I decided to inquire on the price, thinking they were going to be like $20 but the regular Mickey head balloon that doesn’t light up was $10 so I decided why not. Now of course the balloon vendors only take cash and I didn’t have any on me, so I made sure to bring that $10 I saved from earlier when I didn’t need to tip the sky cab at the airport. I walked down MS and bought her, her balloon and we took a sweet a picture of her w/ it:

http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Kids%20trip%20Jan%2012/Photo0142FourBySix.jpg

And of course another family PP picture too:

http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Kids%20trip%20Jan%2012/Photo0146FourBySix.jpg

We now decided that Bekah and I wanted to go on a few last minute rides together per our usual Mother/Daughter late night fun and this time Rachel asked if she could stay w/ us…I was happy bekah said yes. It was fun hanging out w/ my older girls this evening.

Life always seems so busy at home w/ homework, music practice, their friends, and so much more to get an hour of pure fun and joy w/ my girls is what I love best about Disney…the 3 of us having a BLAST!

Matt took NR and Nathan back to BLT and got them ready for bed and off us three night owls went to go on a few more rides….

Stay tuned for the Magic happened here in the midnight hour…
Thanks for reading, J~

That's so great that you were able to have fun in the MK after the crowds cleared out! Your girls fairy picture is very cute! And NR's balloon is as big as she is!!! Looking forward to seeing what other adventures you guys got into that night!

wow! What a great night. You all did so much!

Love the pictures of you guys all in winter gear eating ice cream! I remember when you posted that on FB and I laughed at it!! (You all got the cold weather and must have taken it home with you -- so let me be one of the first to say THANKS!!!!);)

I've never thought of taking photos on Buzz...will add that to my list.

Love the photos of all the girls with Tink.

NR looks so happy to see the Fairies.

Jungle Cruise with no line??? How did you manage that? Sweet!!

Your castle photos are great!

We bought Rachel her first ever DIsney Balloon, too, this year. We got the light up one and she just loved it. You were so smart though to get a picture of the balloon in front of the castle. I'm lifting that idea from you, too!!

Oh, had to laugh at the pic of Matt all bundled up in his scarf on PeopleMover!

Sounds like a great time. Love being able to walk from BLT and doing MK late!

I love the feeling of the MK at night! Some of our best moments from our last trip were from the EMH night we spent there.

Those Dole Whips look so delicious! YUMMM!

I love the picture of the girls with Zurg! They look so mean and nasty! LOL!

And the pic of Daddy and Bekah snoozing on the Peoplemover is priceless....with matching scarves, no less. Love it!

Time spent with the kids one on one (or one on two in your case) is so important. How fun that you were able to do that with your older girls. Those are memories they will cherish forever! :thumbsup2

I started to realize i had taken pictures of the kids in some of the same locations during 3 of our previous trips and it was so cute to see how they were growing...now i take one in a certain spot per trip. I created these little timeline books out of a simple chipboard album. I put their picture in the book and watch them grow :thumbsup2

Night of day 1 and literally the wee hours of day 2):

I last left off w/ us splitting up and the girls and I off on our own little adventure…it was now midnight and EMH was in full (empty) swing!

We headed back over into Fantasyland and walked right on the Carrousel:

http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Kids%20trip%20Jan%2012/DSCN1257.jpg

http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Kids%20trip%20Jan%2012/DSCN1259.jpg

http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Kids%20trip%20Jan%2012/DSCN1260.jpg

Then it was off to have some fun on the tea cups…now at this point the CM was checking for the guests room cards and I had my handy but was searching for the girls…you’d think he’d let us on w/ just mine but was saying “if you are old enough to be at the MK after midnight you are old enough to hold your room key” oh pooey

We stepped to side of the line till I was able to pull the cards out of my purse at that point Bekah just kept her room key in her lanyard pouch.

We found the perfect cup and got ready to spin…

“not to fast” Rachel reminded us…

I had told the girls to squeeze together for a picture and this is what I got…such a cute picture of the two of them…it’s like they really like each other [wink]

http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Kids%20trip%20Jan%2012/DSCN1261.jpg

I tried to take this picture of me…not so easy inside a spinning cup w/ the camera strap around your neck [haha]

http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Kids%20trip%20Jan%2012/DSCN1262.jpg

http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Kids%20trip%20Jan%2012/DSCN1263.jpg

After we got our bearings from spinning they wanted to go on the Speedway so off we went for that

Bekah rode by herself and I went w/ Rachel. I tried to get a few pictures too, but this was my best one:

http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Kids%20trip%20Jan%2012/DSCN1264.jpg

Now I had thought Bekah had got off the ride before us and didn’t see her when we retuned and walked out of the ride still not seeing her. So I texted her. I got a tad nervous when she didn’t respond right away and then she appeared…she had got off before us but was waiting for us in the viewing stands and we didn’t see each other…ok minor crises averted.

Rachel was now tired and I admit so was I. We decided to heading out of the park now…but not before I stopped for some another PP picture [laughing]

I know I can’t help it!

http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Kids%20trip%20Jan%2012/Photo0149FourBySix.jpg

I took a few more pictures of the castle myself and of the girls on MS.

http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Kids%20trip%20Jan%2012/DSCN1256.jpg

http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Kids%20trip%20Jan%2012/DSCN1268.jpg

http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Kids%20trip%20Jan%2012/DSCN1269.jpg

I then had Bekah stand under the clock and she was tapping her wrist like we are out so late…bad [ha]

http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Kids%20trip%20Jan%2012/DSCN1270.jpg

The front of the park was empty at almost 1 am and I was able to capture these last two shots of our very long but excellent fun first day rolling into the next….

http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Kids%20trip%20Jan%2012/DSCN1271.jpg

http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Kids%20trip%20Jan%2012/DSCN1272.jpg

Rachel said she was way too tired to walk back to BLT and convinced me to take the monorail so up the ramp we went walked onto the waiting monorail and then quickly realized w/ Bekah’s help we were on the wrong rail Whoops!

Good thing we figure it out before it left….we got off walked down the ramp out the gate and up the other ramp to the resort line. We had a few minutes to wait and I took a few more pictures:

http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Kids%20trip%20Jan%2012/DSCN1276.jpg
Can you tell they are tired?

I tired to get a nice shot of the low moon over CR and one of BLT all lit up, but they are a bit blury:

http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Kids%20trip%20Jan%2012/DSCN1275.jpg

We got on the monorail and the girls laid down each on a bench:

before I read the new update, just wanted to say so sorry about your dog. :(

and thanks for your link to your blog - I love the idea of the timeline albums! I used to scrapbook but now I make books on shutterfly, lol. I know it's silly! however I do think it's a great idea to do a lineup of pictures in the same places! So far I only have a few repeat pictures though - like with a certain character or something - but maybe after a few more trips!

Just found your TR and am really enjoying it. You have some really great photos. What kind of camera do you use?

I am reading along to see how the GAC works with the rides. My DD and her family are going with us in august and my DGS has never been dianosed but we are all pretty sure he is on the spectrum. He has sensory issues and is a "flight" risk when he is on overload. Crowds, noises and bugs all impact him but he is really looking forward to the trip.

So sorry about your furbaby. I will be making that last walk soon with my mom's dog and my furbaby Nikki won't be far behind. It's not a walk I am looking forward to taking.

Looking forward to more of your adventures.

and thanks for your link to your blog - I love the idea of the timeline albums! I used to scrapbook but now I make books on shutterfly, lol. I know it's silly! however I do think it's a great idea to do a lineup of pictures in the same places! So far I only have a few repeat pictures though - like with a certain character or something - but maybe after a few more trips!

you're very welcome...I hope to carve out some time next week when the kids are on SB to work on my BLOG and some other Disney craft how to's

So sorry about Maggie. I know how hard that can be.

thank you

I can't believe that was only Day One!! You were busy little bees! What a great day...can't wait to hear more.

 we were very busy bees...soaking up every minute we could!

Julie, first and foremost, I am so sorry to hear about Maggie. We have a 14-year old bichon who has cancer and I am dreading the day we have to do that.

thanks  sadly that is why we had to put her down

I love your family night at the MK...it looks cold, but fun.

it was chilly not Chicago cold

And what a great time you had with the two older girls after the others left. Such fun.

it's a tradition!

And I love the photopass pictures, especially the "Mickey ears" one.

yes, that is cute, I had never done that before

Sorry about Maggie, that is hard, even though it's a profile shot of Nathan, you can see the sadness.

it is a precious but bittersweet picture

What an amazing girls night during EMH. Looks like you ladies had a lot of fun. Love the shot of the girls on the teacups and at the front of the park. Can't wait to read about Ohana

we did have a wonderful evening, I love being at MK late! O'Hana coming up soon popcorn::

So so sorry about your dog, Maggie. The pictures brought tears to my eyes. It is so hard to lose a pet, who is a member of your family.

thank you, she really was

The "girls night" at MK looked wonderful! What incredible memories you made with your girls!

I agree...:thumbsup2

B really looks like Nathan in this picture.

hmmm I think so too

Subbing in - great TR so far.

:welcome:

So very sorry about your dog. It is so hard to say goodbye to a wonderful pet.

thank you

You have a lovely family and I am amazed how much you all did on your first day at the world. Wow - that was like 2 days!

 it was

Dole whips in the winter. They really are good anytime, aren't they?

yes!

Love the matching scarves and you got a lot of great PP pictures.

thanks...I had matching scarves for the Spectrum Mom trip last yr and just knew i wanted to do that for my family too...more great PP pixs to come

I bet a 2BR at BLT is amazing. Maybe someday if I ever have lots of extra points to spare.

I say it is...we love staying there...not sure we'll stay anywhere else again

I am so sorry for your loss

thank you

Way to go till the bitter end, very impressive. Pretty cute about taking the monorail, I can't imagine that really saves any time does it? A 5 minute nap?

no :rolleyes1

Very cute and fun girls night!

thanks it was a fab way to end Day 1)

Hi Jules - I'm sorry you guys had to go through that with Maggie this week. I hope you are all doing better.

thank you...getting better

What a fun girls night! I'm so glad Bekah was open to Rachel sharing in the fun!

yes me too :goodvibes

So sorry to hear about Maggie. It is so hard to have to say goodbye to a loving member of the family. You will remember all the good times, though!

thank you

You all did well to keep going until you did at MK!! Not sure if I would be able to!! I tend to start fading around 9pm - that's what shift work does to you!!
Oh Im on Disney power time

I'm there 19-30 October this year - you are there earlier aren't you? I think when you are there I'll be on the Wonder somewhere off the coast of California!!

yes I'll be back w/ friend the 11-14...have fun on your trip :thumbsup2

Looking forward to more updates when you can!!

thanks uploading pixs now and hope to get some posts typed out to get up later this week!

Julie, I am so sorry to hear about Maggie. Lots of hugs from Georgia!

thank you

Love the pictures on the teacups!

I have some other great spinning cup pixs coming up in Day 3) :thumbsup2

Oh I'm so sorry to hear about Maggie My thoughts are with you and your family.

thank you

In happier news, that was a great update! Sounds like so much fun being out late with the older girls.

it was!

Just found your TR and am really enjoying it. You have some really great photos. What kind of camera do you use?

Oh thank you and :welcome:

cameras nothing special we have a point and shoot Cannon Power Shot SD600 that is old but in good shape and a Nikon Coolpix L105 its like a mini DSR

I am reading along to see how the GAC works with the rides. My DD and her family are going with us in august and my DGS has never been dianosed but we are all pretty sure he is on the spectrum. He has sensory issues and is a "flight" risk when he is on overload. Crowds, noises and bugs all impact him but he is really looking forward to the trip.

our son nathan still occassionally is a flight risk too....The GAC is wonderful, there is a lot of sticky info about it on the disABILITIES threads too...

generally how it works is on your first park day have your DD and her son go to the parks GS tell the CM that he needs a GAC to help w/ the crowds in the attraction lines.

they will issue a GAC that works for your length of stay up to 6 people in ypur party can use it.

you then use it at the FP line or accessible line...feel free to PM for more info :goodvibes

we couldnt do Disney w/out it

So sorry about your furbaby. I will be making that last walk soon with my mom's dog and my furbaby Nikki won't be far behind. It's not a walk I am looking forward to taking.

thank you and hugs to you and your situation

Looking forward to more of your adventures.

coming up soon popcorn::

I'm so sorry to hear about your loss, Julie! Hugs to you!!
Sounds like a fun night! I love splitting up in Disney with just one kid. Less people=less opinions.:lmao:
It must be so nice to be able to walk back from MK or take the monorail. Beautiful pics of your family in front of the castle! What a long, but successful first day.

so needless to say the last few weeks have been horrible...not that I'm playing my pity me card here...:charac2: but I just know you all will appreciate this story...

let's start w/ just over 3 weeks ago and I was venting to some supported DIS friends about some struggles I am having w/ Bekah's case manager (she is autistic and stuggles w/ time management and impulsisvity of words = ugh power struggle in the Middle School setting) :headache:

I was trying to figure out how to best approach this...when we find out Maggie has cancer and it is bad...happend just too quick :sad2:

add to this Matt is still suffering now w/ consisitent neck and shoulder pain again (he has had 2 spinal fusion sugeries)

then after a draining week, Nathan has a problem at school which ends my week practically yelling at the Assist Principal at school....

I'm still trying to figure out how to help B

still trying to help Matt w/ his pain and dealing w/ the hard fact Maggie was dying...

and now need to argue w/ the school re Nathan ugh so do not need this

I was so looking forward to the weekend coming up (St. Pat's) having my family over and cooking up some "Irish grub" and of course the desperate need to get out on Saturday w/ Matt, my SIL and some friends to drink up some good 'ol green beer....although Matt declares no self respecting Irish man would drink beer died green  so he stuck w/ Black and Tan ;)

Oh yes I had fun...maybe a bit too much fun :rolleyes1

but back track to the previous weekend before last and I sat on the couch saying out loud in a desperate plea:

"We NEED to go back to DISNEY!"

ok is Matt's repsonse...um that's all the fuel I need

I hit the SWA app icon on my ipad and began seaching dates and prices....

"so how much can we spend on airfare?" I ask

$1200

ok yeah right :headache:

I spent over 30 minutes punching in dates and dates and looking this way and that way hoping I could squeeze two flights together for 6 people in that price point...

I was WAY serious and Matt was amusing me

I looked all around the dates that my DIS pals Amy and Heidi are going next month...looked at the beginning of May around the twins 13th birthday...even post on my FB Disney group for suggestions.... :surfweb:

but well reality set in big time...hmmm we really don't have that money :headache:

dang bills

we really shouldnt take the twins out of school for a trip :headache:

dang school (don't tell them I said that)

Matt doesn't have ANY vacation time :headache:

dang need for money

we don't really have points to use :headache:

dang should have bought more

so I let this little pipe dream go and then well after a not so productive meeting at N's school, that same day we said good bye to Maggie and well :guilty:

even though we can't escape from the stinkiness that is around us right now...I will find a way to bring that Disney Magic here to us....

now what to do....popcorn::

ideas?

First, I'm so sorry to hear about Maggie. We put my first cat of my own (15 years) to sleep b/c of bad health in the fall and still nearly 6 months later we think about him a lot...the girls tell me they miss him. Even last night, as we were watching tv, I caught movement in the corner of my eye and my first thought was, "Oh, it's just Butterscotch coming into the room."

I'm just sharing this with you to let you know that when pets are such important members of our families -- it hurts!! But you won't forget them. Part of me was afraid I would or the girls would.

So here's some more hugs for you and your family!:grouphug::hug::grouphug:

Ok, on to Disney -- the photo of Bekah and Rachel on the tea cups is just PRICELESS!! I love that picture -- it is so precious!

Cool for staying out so long with the girls -- what a great mom-daughter gift for all of you!

The moon must have been wonderful to look at, that low in the sky.

As for getting some Disney magic without blowing the budget or missing school, I can only recommend planning a full weekend and going someplace local to enjoy...then dress up in Disney clothes that weekend and try to replicate Disney things -- get ice cream and call it Dole Whips, walk around a garden area and call it the Flower and Garden Festival, etc.

Or just enjoy wherever you decided to go.

We just spent the weekend at our local National Harbor (Gaylord Hotel) and went into DC to see the Cherry Blossoms and museums/monuments. We had a blast and it was so fun. Normally we just do it as a day trip, but this time we spent Friday and Saturday nights at a really super-cool hotel and acted like tourists! It was so fun, relaxing and the perfect "get-away without going away" staycation!

I can very much relate to the feeling that you just need a little magic! Sometimes real life is such a drag.

Maybe plan one of your fun Disney nights. Who says you need to have a trip in the works to have a family Disney celebration?!

I hope that all the issues with the school work out. It can be so hard to be your child's advocate when it feels like you are the ONLY one! Hang in there and know that you are making a difference...for your kids and for those coming behind your kids with the same or similar issues.

I'm so sorry you're having a rough time right now. I know that feeling all too well, needing to get back and not being able.
I always find if you are having a string of bad luck, if you can do just one good thing to turn everyone's mood around, the luck will turn around too. A really great Disney theme night perhaps?
Feel better soon.

Ugh, I'm so sorry to hear about everything you guys are going through!!:hug::hug:

It definitely sounds like you guys are in need of some Disney magic! How about doing a Disney night, watching a Disney movie and all of that fun stuff? Maybe having a meal based on one of your favorites there? I always make sure to have Mickey head sprinkles in stock in my cabinets, they always bring me some Disney cheer. I know that the Walgreens by us normally stocks some Disney-themed treats (Mickey and Minnie cookies, cards, etc.)

We have a weekend at Great Wolf Lodge planed coming up - it's an indoor water park - not Disney but still a lot of fun.

Take a three day weekend and go somewhere within driving distance, and stay at a fun hotel that is disneyesque. I agree with seeing if there is a Disney on Ice Show coming to your area or to an area close to you. Sometimes just getting out of town can help. While on your three day weekend visit the Disneystore, eat out, dress in Disney attire. Take fun Disney games and such with you. I know it's so not the same, but it could still be a fun family weekend. :goodvibes Lots of hugs and pixie dust

Start of Day 2) Monday January 16th

MLK day

Plan of the Day:

* Sleep in

* O’Hana Breakfast

* Epcot

So back in the planning phase of this trip, we decided that one character meal was a must and we decided on O’Hana for the proximity to BLT, price, characters, food and that we haven’t been since 2008. I decided that a late morning ADR would be perfect after a full day in the park and travel. I had originally scheduled wake-up around 8/8:30 am and leaving the room by 9/9:15 am…

So Matt’s alarm went off around 6:30 am to give Nathan his medicine and we fell back to sleep I think I woke up about an hour later but then rolled back to sleep…next time I looked at the clock it was 9:15!

Matt it’s 9:15 we need to get up…

MATT IT’S 9:15 WE NEED TO GET UP!

We quickly got up and I jumped in the shower and we got the twins up and in showers and somehow we managed getting all dressed and ready to leave just before 10 am (that would never happen on a school day :rotfl:).

I snapped a picture of our door before leaving:

http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Kids%20trip%20Jan%2012/DSCN1281.jpg
Waiting impatiently for the elevator

We quickly headed over to CR and the monorail station as we saw one just pull out and then we waited…and waited…and waited…

http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Kids%20trip%20Jan%2012/IMG_3882.jpg

http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Kids%20trip%20Jan%2012/IMG_3883.jpg

http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Kids%20trip%20Jan%2012/IMG_3884-1.jpg

Ugh! This usually never happens, but apparently there was some track delays AND a training session going on…so after a 20 minute delay we made it over to the POLY and got checked in at 10:30, a ½ hour past our original ADR. I thought for sure we have some horrible long wait but luckily it really wasn’t that bad.

http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Kids%20trip%20Jan%2012/DSCN1282.jpg
On our way…can you tell they are hungry and still a bit tired…the monorail was packed too!

http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Kids%20trip%20Jan%2012/IMG_3887.jpg
Little better of a picture on the way back to CR later that morning…and

here’s Bekah:
http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Kids%20trip%20Jan%2012/IMG_3885.jpg

We took the obligatory staged photo before going in and decided it was too cute to pass up so we bought the package (I think it was $30+ w/ tax)

http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Kids%20trip%20Jan%2012/Photo0170FourBySix.jpg

http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Kids%20trip%20Jan%2012/Photo0174FourBySix.jpg

We were seated at a nice table near the windows, no view of the castle, but still a nice spot! Here’s our view:

http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Kids%20trip%20Jan%2012/DSCN1309.jpg

We took a few pictures of everyone sitting around the table as we awaited the food to arrive.

http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Kids%20trip%20Jan%2012/DSCN1297.jpg

The chef came out very quickly to discuss Naomi-Ruth’s food options and a platter of her own was quickly returned by the chef. She had the bacon, potatoes and her own Mickey waffles. She quickly got started on the bacon:

http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Kids%20trip%20Jan%2012/DSCN1298.jpg

Our platter came out after the fruit (they really needed to give us more) and the bread. We also got the juice (is it called O’Hana juice?) well whatever is I love it, so cool and refreshing!

As we started to fill our plates w/ the eggs, sausage, bacon, biscuits, and fruit the characters arrived. First up was Stitch…

http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Kids%20trip%20Jan%2012/DSCN1307.jpg

I loved how he petted and “licked” the kids and made some cute Stitch like noises…he was so fun and played along w/ them for a quick minute.

Up next was Mickey Mouse:

http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Kids%20trip%20Jan%2012/DSCN1313.jpg

He was so sweet giving smooches and hugs to each of the kids and I just think it’s so adorable how his head is tilted in the posed shot

He next saw Bekah sporting her own Mickey ears and gave her a huge hug! She loved it!

http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Kids%20trip%20Jan%2012/DSCN1316.jpg

Luckily our server was nearby and we were able to get this fun group shot of all 6 of us w/ Mickey:
http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Kids%20trip%20Jan%2012/DSCN1318-1.jpg

I love to compare it to the 1st time we ate here 4 years ago and how little the kids look:

Pluto came out next and it’s the “Where’s Nathan?” shot…

I had printed out a group autograph page that I could use later in a scrapbook, but realized I didn’t bring the best autograph pen nor a hard surface to write on…Pluto had some trouble getting his “paw print” on it…but we applauded him when he was done!

Here’s the signed sheet (I traced over the siggies in a black flair):

http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Kids%20trip%20Jan%2012/DSCN2352.jpg

I will share w/ you all later when I use it in a scrap layout :thumbsup2

As Pluto was finishing up, the music began to play for the kids to join in the parade, so Bekah and Naomi-Ruth went to it:

http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Kids%20trip%20Jan%2012/DSCN1327.jpg

Last to show up was Lilo

http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Kids%20trip%20Jan%2012/DSCN1328.jpg

Bekah had a quick one-sided chat [wink] when she was 6 she just loved Lilo

We finished up eating as the Mickey waffles had finally arrived I think between Pluto and Lilo…that would probably be our only complaint of the meal…they were pretty backed up brining those out and our tummies were quite full by that point. Our server was very nice and accomadating bringing us out extra juice, tea, eggs and pineapple too. She was extremely busy so we appreciated it. I had asked if I could take NR waffles w/ us and she slipped us an empty paper cup and said “If I don’t see it then I don’t know” since you are not suppose to take food to go at a buffet…we snuck in a few pieces of bacon too [hehe]

We slowly wandered out as the restaurant was emptying out and closing up for the morning. We all took a rest stop before heading back to the monorail.
Matt helped Nathan take a picture of the traveling gnome by the water garden first:

http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Kids%20trip%20Jan%2012/DSCN1339.jpg

It was now time to head back over to our room (it was about 11:55 am) and get ready to head out to Epcot for the day…

Stay tuned for more MAGIC…and “I’ve been waiting my whole life to ride this…”

Thanks for reading. J~

Oh Julie, my heart goes out to you with everything you've been going through. Middle school is brutal enough with out added issues and concerns...x2! I so know the feeling of "calgon take me away" and it's so hard to realize it's just not possible at the moment.

I agree with everyone about trying to find a short, local escape to provide a little respite from life if you can.

Wonderful breakfast! I imagine after the night before you all needed that extra half hour and how lovely it didn't really slow things down.

I went to Ohana for the first time in October with a friend. I had such a great time that it is one of the few TS meals I have planned for my August trip with my grandkids.

I love the comparison shot of the kids when they were younger and now. I have been going through pics and organizing them. I was looking at my oldest DGS from when he was 5 and so tiny and last year when he was as tall as Mickey and almost as tall as Goofy. I was a little sad to see how much he has grown. I think he may pass Goofy on this trip.

Can't wait to read more.

Every since the Dis was messed up a few weeks ago, I've not been getting my notifications of updates. Ugh! Oh well, I'm all caught up again and wanted to say I loved the Ohana update. We aren't big breakfast eaters but every time I see an Ohana breakfast post, I want to make an ADR there. I really enjoyed seeing the pictures of when the kids were younger and their present picture. Kids grow up sooooo fast!

Day 2) continued…

I last left off w/ us leaving O’Hana for a quick stop back at our room and getting ready to head to EP for the rest of the day…

We took the stroller w/ and grabbed sweatshirts and the matching scarves for later in the day. We took the Monorail back over to the TTC and switched Monorails to board the EP one. We didn’t have that long of a wait and soon were entering the park!

http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Kids%20trip%20Jan%2012/IMG_3891.jpg

http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Kids%20trip%20Jan%2012/IMG_3892.jpg

We stopped for some PP Pictures in front of SSE…the sun was shining high (and I regretted not packing hats and sunglasses for all the kids)

http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Kids%20trip%20Jan%2012/Photo0176FourBySix.jpg

http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Kids%20trip%20Jan%2012/Photo0181FourBySix.jpg

It was just after 1 pm at this point and we headed straight over to the Land for Soarin and the truth telling height check…

Was Naomi-Ruth tall enough to ride?

http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Kids%20trip%20Jan%2012/IMG_3899.jpg

YAY she was (I think I knew she was already, but this seals the deal)…now all 6 of us get to ride together for the first time ever! Rachel of course was getting nervous as she doesn’t really like this ride and the flying sensation…but we assured her it would be fine and she has done it before! I’m glad she didn’t freak out completely…

We had a bit of a wait in the FP line but not that bad….but seriously they need to add something interesting to look at in here…

http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Kids%20trip%20Jan%2012/IMG_3893.jpg

http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Kids%20trip%20Jan%2012/IMG_3896.jpg

Getting ready to board I think we were row 3.
http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Kids%20trip%20Jan%2012/IMG_3897.jpg

I snagged a quick shot in the seats before take off:
http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Kids%20trip%20Jan%2012/IMG_3898.jpg

The flight was a success, we all enjoyed it, and I was glad I wasn’t too distracted w/ wondering how NR like it cause she was saying Whee! And swinging her feet :goodvibes

After we got off she declared “I have been waiting my whole life to go on that ride!” LOL

Next we decided to do Living w/ the Land. The kids have never been on this (crazy I know) Nate was a little worried when we didn’t use the GAC and as I tried to reassure him we didn’t need it, since it was a walk on…but he sees a line and immediately thinks it will take too long…but we got on quick…so whew!

Here are some pictures:
http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Kids%20trip%20Jan%2012/IMG_3901.jpg

http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Kids%20trip%20Jan%2012/IMG_3903.jpg

It was neat to see it in the daylight in the garden house, compared to when matt and I went on at night the previous year. All the plants and gardens made me wishful for a garden of our own. The kids really like the ride and looking at all the neat things around them…especially the Hidden Mickeys we found:

Up next we walked over to the Seas and went for a Clam-mobile ride under the Sea w/ Nemo and Friends…

http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Kids%20trip%20Jan%2012/IMG_3905.jpg

This as well was a practical walk on (YAY) the little girls wanted to ride together by themselves:

http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Kids%20trip%20Jan%2012/IMG_3906.jpg

http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Kids%20trip%20Jan%2012/DSCN1364.jpg

After we got off the ride we walked over by Bruce to get a few photos here…this spot was a bit more crowded but we managed a couple good ones:

http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Kids%20trip%20Jan%2012/DSCN1369.jpg

http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Kids%20trip%20Jan%2012/DSCN1370.jpg

http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Kids%20trip%20Jan%2012/DSCN1371.jpg

As we were finishing up w/ this and getting ready to head out to the next thing…I had a bit of a panic

“Where’s Naomi-Ruth?”

We turned around and there she was talking to some nice CM about sharks and checking out the teeth…
http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Kids%20trip%20Jan%2012/IMG_3907.jpg

http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Kids%20trip%20Jan%2012/IMG_3908.jpg

We must have stood here for a good 20 minutes chatting w/ him and the girls just loved asking questions and learning more about sharks. I think we made that CM’s day!

http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Kids%20trip%20Jan%2012/IMG_3909.jpg

One more picture (always wanted to take one here):
http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Kids%20trip%20Jan%2012/DSCN1373.jpg

Nathan was getting a bit antsy so we moved on…we next headed to another new thing for the family as a whole:

http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Kids%20trip%20Jan%2012/IMG_3910.jpg

I actually have some good video of us tasting them and Bekah actually liking Beverly…can you believe that? Haha but until matt and I get around to editing it…you’ll have to wait on that…here is the one lone picture we took in there:

http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Kids%20trip%20Jan%2012/DSCN1374.jpg

We all tried all the samples and I should have jotted down the ones we liked and didn’t like…

We now split up for TT as Matt decided he didn’t want to chance riding this and Naomi-Ruth decided she didn’t want to go on…bummer.

I snapped a picture of Rachel in front for her 2nd time going on this:
http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Kids%20trip%20Jan%2012/IMG_3912.jpg

I made a note on my touring card that we were in line at 3:35 pm. It was a bit of a wait even using the FP, but not too horrible. We got in a car w/ two other young boys from the single rider line.

Waiting in line:
http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Kids%20trip%20Jan%2012/IMG_3913.jpg

I later told Matt good thing he didn’t go on cause right after we loaded the car started to move forward to the seatbelt ck and braked super hard…OUCH!

When we got close to the PP shot I told everyone to raise their arms in the air:
http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Kids%20trip%20Jan%2012/Photo0191FourBySix.jpg

Um Rachel where are your arms? [wink]

We had a fun ride and I attempting videotaping this too…haha a lot harder than it looks.

Here’s a picture of NR hanging out while they waited:
http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Kids%20trip%20Jan%2012/IMG_3911.jpg

We met back up w/ Matt and NR near Mouse gear for a shopping break…

I had made TT DL’s for the kids from the 2010 trip, but had never given them to them…so I finally remembered this trip…

http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Kids%20trip%20Jan%2012/DSCN1375.jpg

Here’s a close up:
http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Kids%20trip%20Jan%2012/Bellettl.jpg

I know I should have taken the picture near TT oh well….they put them in their lanyard pouches as a special souvie.

So stay tuned for more EP fun!

Thanks for reading, J~

Day 2) continued more from EP

I last left out w/ us getting ready to do some shopping! I was hoping for this to be one of our main shopping excursions since I could use my AP discount in here too.

Getting ready to head in:
http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Kids%20trip%20Jan%2012/IMG_3914.jpg

(if you don't remeber what we go you can check back toward the begining of this TR at the souvie post...)

After we were done shopping I stood in line w/ Rachel I think? To pay while Matt and the other kids waited outside:
http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Kids%20trip%20Jan%2012/DSCN1376.jpg

Mr. Gnome checking out Mexico:
http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Kids%20trip%20Jan%2012/DSCN1386.jpg

Dinner was next on the agenda, as we were all getting hungry now and the sun was beginning to set…I figured we had better grab some grub before it got any later. We had decided in advance we were going to get food from several different countries as a little World Showcase feast…we decided upon: Mexico, Norway and China. Now the smart thing to do would have been to select a seating area in the middle i.e. Norway…but well we found some nice tables in the newly constructed patio outside Mexico and went w/ that…while I made all the food runs.

Here is one of our views:
http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Kids%20trip%20Jan%2012/DSCN1377.jpg

I got some chips and guacamole from the Cantina for NR and I:
http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Kids%20trip%20Jan%2012/DSCN1380.jpg

Plus some ice, water and churros for dessert for the kids (minus NR)…then I walked over to Norway to get 2 of the club sandwiches for the twins:
http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Kids%20trip%20Jan%2012/DSCN1378.jpg

Plus a School bread for Matt and I to share for dessert later….YUM!
http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Kids%20trip%20Jan%2012/DSCN1381.jpg

THEN….I hiked up to China’s Lotus Blossom Café for some more food for Matt, I, and Rachel…

While they were waiting for me to get back the 2nd time…Matt took a few pictures of the girls looking for me over the railing:

http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Kids%20trip%20Jan%2012/DSCN1382.jpg

I had asked when I got back w/ the food if they had seen me coming…I think they were waving…not sure why Matt didn’t take a picture…

http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Kids%20trip%20Jan%2012/DSCN1387.jpg

The food from China: potstickers and an egg roll, and some orange chicken and rice. Matt ate the chicken while Rachel and I split the others. I carried back the tray covered in napkins hoping I wouldn’t bump into someone…or more like someone into me…let’s say I was pretty tired after this food adventure…but we all ate well and were happy so it was worth it!

It was starting to get chilly as the sun was now down:
http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Kids%20trip%20Jan%2012/IMG_3918.jpg

http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Kids%20trip%20Jan%2012/IMG_3916.jpg

So we added on some extra layers and our scarves…we did some restroom runs over to the ones by the Odyssey Center which turned into a bit of a scare as Matt took NR and Nathan…and while Matt was going, Nathan was to sit w/ NR well she then starting walking off and got away from N. N in a panic tries to get Dad from the washroom and Matt frantically calls me on the cell…that NR is missing.:scared1:

Well then seconds later who shows up at the table but NR LOL I know not funny…but she knew where she was going….so after a bit of scolding we all headed over to Mexico for the boat ride. I of course though needed my restroom break so Matt waited over there w/ the kids for me. This next picture cracks me up:

Look at Naomi-Ruth’s expression….[haha]

Here are few more pictures from inside:

http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Kids%20trip%20Jan%2012/DSCN1394.jpg

Now this queue should have been a walk on…but as we were waiting in the line:

http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Kids%20trip%20Jan%2012/IMG_3921.jpg

It became a standstill and then the boats weren’t running…what was going on? :confused3 Seriously the crazies were out in force tonight…what we deduced is that some guests got a little rowdy on the ride and some other guests were complaining to the CM’s and then while the boats were stopped some other guests got off the boat and walked along the rides edge to exit out…geeze people come on…

We finally got on and got our Mexican groove on as we searched for Donald in this IASW knock off…. But hey we had fun:

It was getting late and we really wanted to see the Chinese Acrobats and had missed the 6:15 show due to the line fiasco in Mexico so we decided to meander down that way and wait for the 7:15 show. Here are few pictures outside the temple as we waited:

http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Kids%20trip%20Jan%2012/DSCN1401.jpg

http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Kids%20trip%20Jan%2012/DSCN1406.jpg

They had the “stage” area roped off and we sat along there…the older children walked over to the outdoor boutique where the puppets are to look around for a bit.

And the music began and the performers arrived:

http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Kids%20trip%20Jan%2012/DSCN1421.jpg

This picture does not do this part justice…but the performer had this orb like ball that he manipulated in his hands it looked like it was floating in air…AMAZING!

The show was fantastic! We really enjoyed it and was so worth waiting for! They had a lot more props around their stage so they must change up each show, very cool! Definetly worth seeing again and again!

Next Matt took the twins and they went to go ride the Malestrom as the little girls and I headed over to the Character Spot. This would be our first time seeing the characters in here. We didn’t have to wait long before the others showed up and in we went we had about a 20 min wait ahead of us (but it didn’t take that long).

The line wasn’t to full and it moved at a pretty steady pace of stop and go. It was nice they had some cartoons playing too.

Mickey was up first:

http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Kids%20trip%20Jan%2012/Photo0194FourBySix.jpg

I kind of flaked here and should have gotta family group shot w/ the Mouse for our collection…duh!

For the next 4 characters I let each kid go up by themselves w/ one of the characters and then we go some group shots:

Naomi-Ruth petting Pluto

http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Kids%20trip%20Jan%2012/Photo0205FourBySix.jpg

Next was sweet Minnie…

http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Kids%20trip%20Jan%2012/Photo0209FourBySix.jpg

And the whole family too:
http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Kids%20trip%20Jan%2012/Photo0214FourBySix.jpg

And now Nathan’s favorite Donald Duck:
http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Kids%20trip%20Jan%2012/Photo0216FourBySix.jpg

When the other kids went up, Naomi-Ruth said “Hey Donald you don’t have pants on” LOL Donald tried to pull his shirt down…

http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Kids%20trip%20Jan%2012/Photo0218FourBySix.jpg

And now Goofy and his biggest fan:
http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Kids%20trip%20Jan%2012/Photo0234FourBySix.jpg
notice how their feet are touching (too cute)

http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Kids%20trip%20Jan%2012/Photo0237FourBySix.jpg

And Mom and Dad got in the act…
http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Kids%20trip%20Jan%2012/Photo0240FourBySix.jpg

That was a ton of fun, the handlers, and PP photographers were really nice, the characters were fun and played along, it was a bit rushed but not terrible. Great way to see them all!

We next backtracked to get another family group picture in our matching scarves:

http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Kids%20trip%20Jan%2012/Photo0244FourBySix.jpg

We had a nice time chatting w/ the photographer for quite awhile and I actually don’t remember what it was all about…

A few more nighttime shots:
http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Kids%20trip%20Jan%2012/DSCN1451.jpg

http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Kids%20trip%20Jan%2012/DSCN1456.jpg

We now decided that non of the kids really wanted to stay to see Illuminations as it was getting late and I was afraid we wouldn’t be able to find a good spot at this point. So we decided to go on SSE as a group and then Matt was going to stay behind to walk around WS during the show to take some photos while I took the kids back “home”

Here are a few pictures from our future…
http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Kids%20trip%20Jan%2012/IMG_3926.jpg

http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Kids%20trip%20Jan%2012/IMG_3928.jpg

As we came of the ride it was just our heads (plus two other guests) heads on the Earth:

http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Kids%20trip%20Jan%2012/DSCN1506.jpg

http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Kids%20trip%20Jan%2012/DSCN1508.jpg

Before leaving I got NR her treat for the night a fun kadoozie pop:
http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Kids%20trip%20Jan%2012/IMG_3932.jpg

http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Kids%20trip%20Jan%2012/IMG_3933.jpg

As we were leaving I saw more crazy guest antics near the monorail ramp these two male guests fighting I thought blows were going to happen…and then the car we were on had two teen boys on it w/ us doing flips off the ceiling bars….[rolling eyes]

Before we even pulled out of the station some freaky malfunction had occurred and they had to turn off the monorail for a minute and reboot the system…ah scary!

After that we made it back quite smoothly I think we stopped in the snack/sundries shop and grabbed some chocolate milk, ginger-ale, and some fruit…

Everyone went to bed quite easily and I watched the EWP as it stopped along the back side of BLT [happy]

3) all the great character interactions at O’Hana and EP

Stay tuned Day 3) is coming up…did we make RD for MK and did we get to see Rapunzel?

Thanks for reading, J~

Another great time! Those Chinese acrobats are so amazing.
That is a great idea for dinner, several different foods from around the world. :thumbsup2

Another great update!

Loved seeing the Chinese acrobats in your pics. I haven't seen them in epcot i years and it's probably time to show the girls who have never seen them.

I can't believe you were going from Mexico/Norway/China with all that food! Too funny! I would be afraid to spill it too (or rather someone bump into me).

Love your matching scarves!! That is really a cute idea, esp as you needed them for warmth and your coats/jackets wouldn't be matching. I'll need to remember that.

I forget, did you make them or buy them? I may need to get some for our Jan 2013 trip.

It never ceases to amaze me what people will do at Disney (get off rides in the middle of a ride, start fights, do flips on the monorail, etc).

Glad Matt had some time to wander around Epcot!

I'm guessing you did make RD (or close to it) and got to see Rapunzel. When we went this past January, I was actually surprised that there wasn't that long of a wait for Rapunzel. Guess the "hoopla" has died down a bit.

I already told Rachel that for our Mommy and Me trip, if she wants to see the new princess Merida, we'll need to make that a super-duper morning and go there first thing. Jerry won't be around to save us a spot.

Wow so many updates!!! Your dinner adventure definitely sounds like a workout, but a delicious one!

The acrobats look awesome! I've only seen bits and pieces of their show before, it looks really impressive.

Great character and Photopass shots! I love the matching scarves!

Matt got great Illuminations shots! :goodvibes

I love the matching scarves? Where did you get those? Not sure if I missed it in a previous post, but would love to get those for our trip Feb. 2013.

I like the idea of getting a few different foods from different countries to try as a meal! :)

I missed that update while we were on our trip! I love that Matt had some alone time at Disney. :thumbsup2

Looks like a fun night, but a bit crazy for you with all the food runs. :faint: And scary about NR wandering her way back to you without telling anyone! :scared1:

I love all the character pictures too! The twins are so tall now!
