Hello everyone and welcome to my TR!
Before I get into it, I should give you the 411 on this trip.
I recently turned 16 (Don't let my teenage moodiness stop you from reading- I swear I'm not always like that lol!)

All around the world, people have big celebrations for different ages. For people of Spanish decent it's 15, when you have your Quinceañera. Jewish people celebrate Bar/Bat Mitzvah's when you turn 13. And here in America, it's your Sweet Sixteen party that seems to be the biggest of them all.

Instead of celebrating my Sweet Sixteen by having a party of any sorts, I wanted to do something different. I wanted to celebrate my 16th birthday in WDW. At first, this was just an idea, but it became a reality when we got Annual Passes last summer. My parents agreed and it was settled- My mom and I would fly down to Florida for five days after I took my end of semester exams. We were planning on staying at the Pop Century and eating at my favorite Table Service- Le Cellier (What can I say, I love steak. And the fact that the teenage heartthrob Justin Bieber is Canadian is just a perk)

To sum all of that up,
Who: Me and my Mom
When: January 18th-January 22nd
Where: Disney's Pop Century Resort
Why: To celebrate my Sweet 16!

This was strictly a girls only trip, so my dad, two brothers, our doggy Jeter, stayed home this trip. Although, my dad had gone to Disney two weeks earlier to run the 1/2 marathon and full marathon with his friend.

Today was the day we were leaving for Disney! I was not as excited as I should have been, because, well, I was sick. My throat hurt, I was stuffed up, my ears were all messed up from pressure, the list goes on and on.

Luckily, I made it through my half day of school. All I had to do was take my final exam- which was Art, and then we were able to talk and play cards until 10:45 when we could go home, since this was the last day of the semester.

As soon as I got home, I packed what I needed to and then fell asleep. Around 3:30 my mom woke me up and my dad drove us to the airport!

Security was much better going to Disney than it was coming back. It didn't take too long to go through security- even if it's gross to have to take off your shoes... and I wasn't wearing socks- yuck!

We made it to our little section and waited awhile for the plane, which wouldn't be taking off until 6:20ish. During the wait, Mom went to get us some Starbucks

I tried to read my AP Euro book assignment, but I couldn't grasp my mind around anything the book was saying! I probably got passed the first page before I decided to quit lol. I played Temple Run, too. It's an addicting App where your person is running around and you have to jump and slide and turn to make sure you stay on the path, collect the coins, and don't get eaten by the gorilla things chasing you. It's addicting, we were playing that game after our Art exam this day.

FINALLY, we were able to start boarding the airplane after a 20 minute maintenance delay. (Have I mentioned that I haven't ridden an airplane since like 10 years ago when we flew to St. Louis?) We had to check our bags since it was a full flight and they ran out of overhead space.Oh well.

Not that I could see much, it was pitch black outside.

The flight went by fast, even though my ears were killing me the whole time. My ears were already messed up from my cold, and the air pressure from the plane just made it worse! I don't think my ears went back to normal until the last day of the trip. I just couldn't get them to pop!

The plane landed around 8:30 and we went to claim our baggage, which didn't take too long. Once we had our bags, we headed for Magical Express!

Lucky for us- our bus was there and waiting! We were the last ones to get on, and it left immediately after we got on! Perfect!

We enjoyed watching the ME video for the first time. The trip from the airport to WDW seems way longer than 30 minutes, I just wanted to get there!

I think we stopped at CBR first, and POP Century was the next stop!

Check in was a breeze, and I got a Happy Birthday pin!
Our room was in the 70s building like we requested, and we had an awesome view of the water and the Animation Buildings being built!

We called back home to tell them we got to WDW safely and to say hello, then we headed to POP's food court (which has to be the best hotel food court- they have such a big variety!) to get a late dinner.

We both got the chicken and pasta, but mom got white sauce and I got red sauce. It was really yummy!

After dinner, we headed back to our room to relax and call it a night. We had a big day tomorrow- we were gonna be the crazy people going to Magic Kingdom early in the morning... the same day Obama was there!

On this morning we woke up early- actually, every morning we woke up early. Hence the title! But in the long run, waking up early worked. We never- not once- had to wait in line longer than 5-10 minutes for anything, even when we didn't have FPs!

Soon we were ready to go (it must've been around 8-8:30)
We headed to the bus stops and joined the line for the MK bus. It was taking forever for the MK bus to come- a bus for every other bus stop had come by the time two MK buses came for us lol

The ride to MK is the longest from POP, but time went by as I played Temple Run the whole time.

Now, if you remember, Obama was going to be in the Magic Kingdom the same day as us. And surprisingly, there was hardly anyone at the park. Anyways, Obama was supposed to be at MK to give a speech about tourism... but his plane wasn't landing until 11:20 I think, and his family would be spending the rest of the day at the Park, but he would be leaving. That's what I gathered up, at least.

But we had a reason to be in MK this morning- I didn't know the reason at the time, but there was a reason!

Unfortunately, Main Street had been blocked off for Obama :mad:
So we had to go around the back way- which was lined with floats and other interesting things- they did a good job with that!

We couldn't ride TTA, because it was down. Well, we assumed it was down for some security reasons of Obama being there.

Actually I'm in AP Euro right now too lol, I just had to do a pre-class reading assignment before the semester started. It's alright so far- I'm doing better than I thought I would, but I'm only a sophomore and everyone else besides my friends are older than me haha

Around now, mom asked if I had figured out her surprise. I had no clue what she was talking about. She told me she had made breakfast reservations for us today, at some place we have never eaten at. I asked if it was around where we were right now, and she said yes. So what other place to guess than Cinderella's Castle?!

Honestly, I'm not sure how I didn't figure it out before. I mean, I had been wondering why we were at Magic Kingdom right now, because of the whole Obama thing. Now I knew it was because we had ~10 o'clock reservations at Cinderella's Royal Table!

We checked in and right as you enter, there's this room where you can wait in line to meet Cinderella and then wait for your reservation

Snow White was really sweet, and she said I was beautiful, so she's an A+ in my book

I think I decided she was my favorite- her voice was PERFECT and she was funny. She told me she liked my hair (which is quite the compliment coming from the Princess with the best hair of all!) and told me happy birthday

Then there was the wishing ceremony thing. You had to take your wishing star and make a wish and wave your wand over your star. I held the star and made a wish, but made my mom wave the wand lol!

It was a fun breakfast, and I can confirm that my brothers and dad would NOT have enjoyed it! It was really cute to see all the little girls though, they were all so excited!

After breakfast, we left Cindy's castle and headed for Haunted Mansion! On the way there, I got A LOT of "Happy Birthdays" from Cast Members. It's kind of weird, because usually they say "Happy Birthday, *your name*" and at first you're confused because somebody's calling your name lol!

Security was EVERYWHERE, because Obama was coming today, remember?

On our way out, we also saw two guys just hanging out by the railing in front of the bag check. They were dressed as typical tourists, but they were just standing there, talking. Mom said they were security guards undercover.

We ended up being the only ones on the bus!

We were the only ones on the bus back to the Pop Century, making it a nice, relaxing ride of me playing Temple Run (;

When we finally got back to the Pop, we went straight for our room

After a nice nap, we decided to go to Epcot! Yay! We had awesome luck with buses.

As we entered Epcot, two security guards sang happy birthday to me!

For dinner I was feeling Chinese food- got to be the best fried rice ever

It was awesome, because as we got the end of the line, where they put you off in row 1, 2, or 3, the CM putting you into the lines told me we could go in row 1 since it was my birthday! The guy and girl in front of us in line were cool, the guy told me happy birthday. My mom said he probably was a cast member and was so used to telling everyone happy birthday when he saw happy birthday pins, that's why he told it to me. It made sense, the two definitely looked like Disney CMs.

We ended off the night by doing some shopping in Mouse Gears. I got a white scarf and my mom got the same one, but in blue. It has little mickey heads on it (you'll see pictures of us wearing the scarves in future pictures) but they're not very noticeable. I got a minnie mouse ipod cover, and new sunglasses since my old ones broke. These looked just like them, except they're pink not white!

A CM in Mouse Gears saw my birthday pin as my mom was jokingly telling me to buy this little girl poofy skirt, he asked how old I was and I told him 16. He told us his grand daughter just turned 14 and she wouldn't be caught dead wearing a little kid skirt like the one my mom was joking about. He was nice and we talked to him for a little while.

Even though Epcot was opened until midnight, we left at about 7:30- lol. Going in the winter vs going in the summer is so different. On this trip, at 7:30 it was pitch black outside, whereas in the summer it doesn't get dark until way later. Also, we're so used to be getting up early for school, that getting up early wasn't a big deal for us. During the summer it's the hardest thing in the world. So while we would usually stay until midnight, we just couldn't make it! Not after waking up so early in the morning and being on the move the whole day, not even with a little nap put in there!

So we left Epcot and called it a night!

Sounds like a great first day! Epcot was empty. I don't blame you for calling it an early night-- you guys got so much done in the one day.
